The staff were friendly and welcoming upon arrival. I was allocated a good size double room on the 9th floor overlooking the castle. The room has basic amenities, but it was perfect for a short city break. Housekeeping were making the bed and took out the rubbish every day, which was amazing as the room was kept clean for the duration of my stay.

The hotel is in a very central location (Liberdade- nearest Metro stations are Avenidas and Rato). Marque de Pompal and Restauradores are at walkable distance, which is very convenient as this is where the majority of tours and day trips start from. There is also a big Continente nearby where you can buy water and other everyday essentials.

Despite being so centrally located I felt safe walking around the area on my own, even in the late hours, so I would recommend this hotel both in terms of convenience and safety.

The hotel could use a good cleaning. Rugs in the halls were disgusting. Good breakfast. Most staff were friendly but one front desk lady was not. Reserved a 2 bed room but was given a one bed room. Desk lady said they didnt have a 2 bed available, but when I showed her my reservation online she miraculously found us the proper room. Be ready to climb steep hills in any direction from this hotel.

Great For Short Stays w/Dogs

The location is fantastic, near everything and in a quiet neighborhood. It's perfect for a short trip or if you plan to spend your time out exploring. Our room was small, but there was a place to set up a small workstation. We were traveling with two small dogs, and it was easy to walk them. We leave in PT so this will be our goto place for weekend trips to Lisboa.

It is in a great location, near main shopping street. The room is very clean and comfortable. Both the check in and check out receptionists were great. They helped with early check in by getting me to join Accor as a member, and of course later with later check out.

This place is ok for a one night stay with an early check out. It’s in a quiet area but walking distance to main shops and restaurants. It served the purpose of having a place to drop bags go have dinner and come back to pack up rest a few hours and head to airport. There was parking in the street at the hour we arrived so that was a plus and by the time it had to be moved in the morning we were gone. Room was very very small. Could not have stayed here longer than one night.

Been there last week September. Centrally located, 5 min to subway, 10-15 walk to neverending restaurants. We were at 3rd floor. Arrived early morning and stored luggages there till early afternoon check-in. European style somehow smaller but sufficient room size with extra seater, good for two, maybe three. Bathroom nice with daily seems meticulous cleaning. Quiet location with double windows. Staff speak very well english, are helpful and smiling! Breakfast sufficient with much wider selection compared to a 2 or 3 star US location.
Location I would strongly consider to come back in the future.

A Very Good Deal for the Money

This hotel is a good deal for the money. Our 7th floor room was small but clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom. The elevators were old but very efficient. The front desk staff was wonderful and friendly. We paid extra for the delicious breakfast and were very pleased that they served until noon. The location is very good. We will stay there again.

February visit

We visited Lisbon for three nights in late February. Weather was perfect. Location of hotel was right for us being slightly away from the main centre but all within easy walking distance. An incline to reach hotel from main street was expected as Lisbon is hilly.
Breakfast was continental, no problem for us, and served until 12 noon therefore no rush in the morning.
Nice Italian restaurant nearby if so not wish to go far in the evening.

Good location at affordable rate

Hotel Ibis

We stayed here for 4 nights on a trip to Lisbon. The check in staff were friendly and efficient and any other questions we had, the staff were always approachable and very helpful.
The room its self was small, which is fine as we are only there to sleep. It was clean with a small wardrobe area and a few hangers. The bathroom was reasonable size and the water pressure in the shower was good.

The breakfast was continental with fresh coffee machines, an mechanical orange juicer for fresh orange juice, as well as a variety of ham, cheese, breads and Portuguese custard tarts (Pastel de nata)

The hotel its self is on a steep hill, so be aware of that. Location wise it was 5-10 minutes walk equal distance from 2 main metro lines, and a 20 minute walk to some of the more busier areas. This worked well as all was within reach but at the same time was in a restively quiet area.

The only thing that let it down was poor soundproofing between rooms, talking, baby crying, alarms were easily picked up.

Aside from that this is a good value option for a stay in Lisbon in a good less touristy area.

Small hotel but laid out very well. Staff was fantastic. They had a breakfast buffet but we did not take advantage of it. Biggest down side: it was located on a steep hill, almost 45 degrees. On the plus side it was located near metro stops as well as the place where you catch the hop-on hop-off bus.

Hotel us under renewal very noise diring day and a lot of dust . Parking is closed due renewal and you are forced to used public underground parking that is expensive if you remove your car to take a tour and return. Dayly rate is 10 is prepaid but take out and return need pay again.

On a steep hill - other issues. Good for students.

Hotel is high up from the main road, and it will get very tiring walking to and from if you stay several days. Other issues for us were lots of inconsiderate customers (smoking in rooms / hallways and being loud), toilet not flushing properly, key cards stopped working, internet login issues, very hot in hallways, uncomfortable beds, etc. Be aware there is no A/C either. Place was cheap, so it would be a good choice for students, as it is clean and safe. Staff were very nice also.

Canadian couple travelling to Lisbon

Hotel was clean and good location, however we found the front staff not always knowledgeable about what one can do, extra especially if you were asking in English. It seemed to us that those who asked in Portugeese seemed to get the answers they were seeking for.

Also, at check out time we asked to have a print out of our statement which should have a zero balance since there were no incidental charges but the lady named Carla said she cannot give it to us and said that it is because we paid via expedia. She also insisted for us to give her our credit card at checkout time. When I told her there were no incidental charges and our rooms were prepaid at the time of checkin, why did we need to give her our credit card...she said that is the hotel policy and couldn't explain any further. I guess a better explanation would be appreciated. We knew that we were staying at a reputable hotel franchise so we did not argue and let it be.

The day before another customer had the same issue at check out time and we noticed that he too was not given a good explanation.

Other than that, the hotel is in a good location and the rooms were kept clean. The rooms were too small though! -:(

We stayed at the Ibis Liberdade for a 3 night city break, and overall were very happy with it. As others have mentioned, the room was a bit small, but after all it's an Ibis, not the Ritz, and how much time do you spend in the room anyway?

It's a 15 -20 minute walk to the city centre, but close to bus and Metro routes if you don't fancy the walk, and a €6 day ticket lets you travel all over the city for 24 hours.

An all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet for €6.50 is very good value, and as we had an early flight home the fact that they serve breakfast from 6.30am was much appreciated. We found all the staff very helpful, and the free wifi was useful - strong enough to stream BBC radio and (just about) TV.

All in all, an enjoyable stay, and we would certainly stay there again.

It was a brilliant hotel, fast service but the only problem was that the room is too warm although it was 14C outside. I think the heating was working fine but it was just too warm and we couldn't really control the temperature from our room.
Location wise this place is brilliant it's near to metro stations and about 10mins walk to Bairro Alto. Loads of mom and pops mini market around for your water and snacks and wine and good bars too around.

The location was better than I realized upon booking. I love walking around new cities and the walk into the heart of downtown Lisbon was very nice from here. The hotel was very clean, the room was small but comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a car, but found street parking (free from 7pm until 9am) and just paid the meter after 9am.

Great reasonable Choice

This hotel is 10 yrs old, but you wouldn't know it. Very modern and very clean. While modestly appointed and utilitarian, a great choice for travelers. While it is at the top of a steep hill (and a challenge if you are going to walk along the main boulevard) it has easy access to good restaurants, a safe student area, a beautiful park overlooking the city (St. Peter's) and the fernicular nearby as an alternative to walking up the hill. Just 5-10 min. from the Aerobus stop to the airport. The staff was quite helpful and the breakfast reasonably priced (E6). Nice leasurely walk to Boixa area of the city.

We are a mature couple on holiday and were satisfied with the value for money of this inexpensive hotel. The staff were helpful and the room was clean and well maintained. A good buffet breakfast was included. Small negatives for some would be that there was no safe or tea/cofee making facility in the room, and the location was up a fairly steep road.

Once settled, an enjoyable stay

The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious. The surrounding area was quiet. There's an easily accessible taxi stand at the bottom of the hill and it's a rather straightforward walk to the Rossio. The front desk staff was helpful. The 24 hour food and drink service at the desk is quite nice especially if you are coming in late.

The only problem is that the hotel was a little hard to find. My original cab driver left me off at the wrong Hotel because there's a distinct difference between the assumed pronunciation of the hotel and the actual Portuguese way of saying it. Subsequent cab rides taught me to give the name of the hotel and \"Rua Barata Salgueiro. \" Remember this for your own trip in and you'll save yourself an adventurous walk with your luggage up the hill.
