Value for money? Not at all. No restaurant at weekends. Bar staffed by receptionist. Poor choice of beers. You have to pay for the car park for no obvious reason. Corridor painted black. In the room, the only lightswitch was by the bed so coming in when it was dark was like pinning the tail on the donkey. It took 15 minutes to work out how to use the tv control. Another 15 minutes to work out the shower which had a dangerously slippery surface. Breakfast was way too expensive.
That might cover it but there may be more.

This was a 2 night stop over before heading to the SW coast for a longer vacation. Recently refurbished (well almost complete) the hotel was a little further out from the centre than anticipated, a good 50minute walk. But very pleasant stay, helpful and patient staff, the only problem was the lack of restaurant, which was closed due to a lack of a chef. It was not clear if this was just the public holiday when we arrived or for evenings generally. Breakfast was available

Pleasant 4-day stay

Very enjoyable 4 day stay, lovely room, excellent breakfast. Sadly no food is served Saturday and Sunday evening, it advertises that snacks are available but that really does mean snacks - peanuts, warm-up micro pots etc. and with no other eating places in the area it’s a big let-down. The dinner we had was good, the menu was offered on a tablet and the info kept disappearing which was more than annoying. The hotel was being revamped which we weren’t aware of at the time of booking but it didn’t really affect our stay.

Poor Service Hotel.

We anticipated that the hotel would be near a lake, no it's in a retail park. We stayed on a Sunday and in true French fashion, the restaurant was closed! The staff were extremely friendly and pointed out that they had an out of hours menu, which were prepared meals and were surprisingly good. However, I requested a glass of red wine and none could be found, until after we had finished our meal.
The hotel was clean, but confusingly marked out with regard to Covid.

Handy stopover, fantastic staff

We used as a stop over for 1 night enroute to La Rochelle (from the ferry at Dieppe). The hotel is well
placed on outskirts of main centre and good for stop overs (I wouldnt recomend booking for your holiday though as not a scenic location). There is an indoor shopping centre next door so handy to stock up on supplies for the journey. Supermarket, patisserie pizzeria and other small shops. We had 2 rooms with joining door (2 adults and 2 kids) so loads of room. Everything clean and worked as it should. The hotel is a little dated but it was clean and tidy throughout. The staff were excellant, very friendly and helpful. The waiter in restaurant was great and really accomodating of our young kids 'off menu' food requests. The only negative was the restaurant food itself. It was not that appetising and I would eat somewhere else next time. Service was great, food was poor

Horrible. Avoid Angers, but especially this hotel

Stayed here for a wedding at a nearby chateau. The area itself has nothing to offer...must drive everywhere (the map makes it look deceptively close to the city, but it's not easily walkable). The bathroom was dirty...I had to wipe urine from the toilet and I even killed a roach. The bathroom soap was a combination out of a soap dispenser and was the worst smelling garbage ever.

To top it off the housekeeping threw away my bag with toiletries and MEDICINE in it. What the heck?

So glad I left that terrible hotel and boring city.

Hard to find...

Spent one night there, the GPS had a hard time finding this property. No signs pointing to property and the sign on the property is hard to see. We circled around the neighborhood 3 times before finally spotting the hotel. It is located next to a shopping area with several large stores. The room and hotel was OK for one night, would not want to stay there any longer.

We stayed here one night while travelling down to the south. For a reasonable price, we had a clean room with good facilities, including free Wi-Fi. We were pleased by the excellent quality of the dinner we enjoyed in the restaurant.

Nice, good value when you get a reduced rate

We paid roughly $ 100 for a night's stay during the off-season. Room was comfortable and clean, with nice amenities. Front desk was very helpful for a midnight hour arrival. At $ 100, it is a reasonably priced alternative. At anything much more, it would be a little pricey for what you receive.

Good value suburban hotel

The hotel is located in a commercial district outside the center of Angers, but close to a pleasant park, from which you can take a walking trail along the river, ending at a bridge that leaves you off at the Chateau d'Angers. It is not easy to find, even though they have posted several signs. The hotel is a good value, clean, with helpful staff.

On the margins

Mercure Angers Lac de Maine is in an unattractive commercial area some distance from the town centre. Convenient for a stop over but not for a holiday.

The hotel itself was very good for the price we paid. Clean and comfortable.

We stayed on a Sunday night and the place seemed deserted. The restaurant is not open at weekends. The hotel presumably relies on a weekday business trade.

Séjour mitigé dans une chambre qui a vécu...il semble qu'un partie de l'hôtel ait été rénové, ce n'était visiblement pas le cas de ma chambre. Les murs sont mal insonorisés et la literie moyenne. Ce n'est pas ce que j'attendais d'un mercure.

Le confort de l’hôtel est à revoir, on est accusé d’avoir mal parlé à une collaboratrice alors que nous avons rien dit du tout!!! C’est inadmissible d’accusé les clients comme ça je ne reviendrais plus dans cette hôtel.
Et je conseil fortement les personnes qui veulent séjourner la bas d’y réfléchir car la manageuse n’est pas du tout professionnel.

Hôtel moyen, les bons côtés : le personnel est top, le bar a l’air sympa meme si je n’ai pas pu en profiter, le diner et le déjeuner sont possible sur place. Par contre, je trouve que pour un 4 étoiles, les infrastructures général des étages font vraiment «cheap ». On dirait d’anciens HLM réaménagé en hôtel. Étant tres souvent en déplacement dans des 4* les prestations étaient bien au dessus. Désolé de la critique négative mais bon j’ai quand meme passé un séjour agréable.

Établissement vieillissant. Venant d'un sejour au Mercure Rennes Bretagne, quel contraste! Les serviettes de bains sont de qualité mediocre, plutot 2 3 *. L'insonorisation est imparfaite. Et le Petit dejeuner \"COVID\" à 18e de très mauvais rapport qualité prix. Pas de buffet ok, mais pour ce prix et cette enseigne, cette prestation actuelle est déplorable. Je retournerai chez Mercure sur Rennes mais celui de Angers Lac de Maine vaut un ibis ancienne version.
Et faire payer le parking alors qu'il n'y a aucune possibilite de se garer ailleurs vu la zone, mesquin...
(PS: Personnel charmant rien a redire.)

La chambre était petite pour un établissement de cet ordre, l'espace est juste suffisant pour un lit 2 places, un fauteuil et une table d'appoint.
La salle de bain était quelconque et vieille avec sa baignoire et son design carreau blanc premier prix. La porte fermait mal.
Litterie confortable mais coussin trop mou.
Bref séjour convenable pour une nuit, mais limite pour plusieurs en visite de la région.

Lors du paiement de la taxe de séjour nous avons été surpris d'avoir à payer le parking de l'établissement.
Lors du paiement, les clients devant nous ont eu le plaisir de se faire offrir une petite bouteille d'eau plate ou pétillante pour la route, ça n'a pas été le cas pour nous.

Excellent accueil, personnel à l’écoute malgré une arrivée tardive. Chambre spacieuse et confortable, tous les équipements attendus, avec un très agreable peignoir pour sortir du bain (je déteste les 4* qui ne proposent qu’une douche, pas le cas ici). J’ai trouvé mon hôtel pour mes futurs séjours a Angers !

Sejour très agréable. Personnel disponible et souriant. Literie impeccable. Chambre propre et sympathique.
Petit bémol pour le petit-déjeuner en chambre que nous avons jugé un peu « light ».
