The location is good, food options even for picky eaters and lots to see if you enjoy exploring. The staff was nice and the room was spacious and inexpensive. The downsides were that the couch was ick, and on the 9th floor the walls were very thin and constantly being slammed by something very loudly, I assume from the restaurant next door.

last wow days of our five days stay were terrible. Air conditioner stopped working, night staff shifted to other room after an hour which had burning smell. Finally, we got shifted to third room past midnight. Pillows were too thick to sleep, I got neck pain.

Pretty much as advertised. The location is good. The rooms are good. Internet is fast. Room service is good. The check-in process was a little bit long, and the check in lobby is tiny and darkly lit. Don't bother with the breakfast buffet... the hotel right next door has a much better breakfast buffet.

Worn out mattress, poor internet connection (not fast, not reliable) clogged toilet system (it's not just my room, it's all rooms, i asked at reception and was shocked-they ask all guests to wipe and throw it in a small bin), my room had insects in the bathroom - i took a picture. everything in the room feels \"done\" and like it's about to break. location is ok, staff is friendly, but you can't have a hotel without basic-decent amenities like a good bed, a working toilet and a reliable internet connection.

No English speaking channels while next door in their other hotel they did

It's so close to embassies. There is more than one seven eleven nearby. pharmacy nearby. but it does not have a good location where you can eat local foods. The hotel is clean, the rooms are convenient. employees are helpful. A reliable place that does not require a deposit like other hotels. comfortable accommodation.

Not up to its Previous Standard
Having stayed at I Residence many times over the years I have always considered it value for money. It is well located in a quiet Soi, the staff are friendly and the prices reasonable.I now feel that they have dropped their standards in terms of room cleanliness and the poor quality of the room furniture. On the positive, I had no idea they had a restaurant and was pleasantly surprised when I was invited to a buffet breakfast on the ninth floor on my last day.

I want to be totally honest here. I have stayed at i residence many times in the past and it has always been excellent, this time things were not the same. Given the lack of tourists the hotel is really struggling to the extent that there is minimal staff, the air con is not operating in reception, the pay tv channels have been cut, there are no tea or coffee making facilities and the room cleaning was not up to their high standards. Hopefully things will improve and the hotel will return to offering its high level of service at a budget price.

Where has the Thai warmth gone in Chiland?

Bed was rock hard and both of us slept on the lounge, not really what you pay for. Staff were pleasant but the natural genuine kindness of Thai people seems to have disappeared. Maybe they’re jaded with some of the crap they have had to put up with from particularly Chinese tourists, sorry don’t want to appear racist, but they’re everywhere and arrogant, rude and pushy as “F”.

I don’t mind paying for things but I hate feeling ripped off and charging me 100 baht to use their iron was simply a rip off and has never happened anywhere before. If they had ironed 2 shirts and one pants I’d be be fine with that, just wish some of that genuine Thai kindness can be found again in most places we went to, not just with the hotel staff who really were ok, nothing actually bad to say about them. Just feels the warmth has gone from Thai people in Chiland

Room is good, plenty of space and with 2 balconies and kitchen. AC is ok, hot water in shower, kitchen is functional when you ask for cooking gear, location ok but taxi to anything you want to see or do.

Probably a 3 star hotel, not the advertised star rating especially for the price in what was Thailand but now appears to be Chiland

Unfortunately we left our son’s shoes in the hallway overnight and they were taken- our mistake, but surprised that either a guest or a staff would take them.

We had discussed the issue with the staff. Although it was 9am when we reported the shoes missing, the staff advised us that they would review the sercurity footage the next morning - security camera outside our room.

Next morning we asked about the footage and the shoes and they again told us they would look into it... at checkout, that same day, we waited 30 minutes with our luggage in their reception area.

When asked to speak to the ‘manager’, we waited another 15 minutes with the response that the manager would come but not sure when.

After waiting 45 minutes, it was obvious to us that the hotel had no interest or regard in theft, security of personal items and customer service- because when we finally got fed up with waiting for the ‘manager’ and got up to leave, the manager came in- did not try and stop us, no one asked for contact info in case the shoes showed up.

All the rooms are around the pool and a small bar is near the rooms. However it's quiet around 10 pm. And that make my stay great. The nights were quiet. The rooms are dated. But for the price I pay for the room I had great value . Staff are very friendly I sure go back.

The staff need to upgrade their English if they are dealing with foreigners. After explaining to them where I needed to go to catch a bus at Lumpini park which is just a few minutes away, they had not informed the driver correctly and took more than half hour and as a result, I missed my bus to Cambodia. He spoke absolutely no English and had no idea until I asked someone on the street to give him instruction.

Irrsidence is always a good place to stay. Nice, clean room centrally located in Sathorn and within walking distance of Silom and patpong. After all the times I have stayed there, this is the first time I realised that they had a shuttle bus that will drop you off at the BTS.

The hotel is in the business district and not near BTS so a cab rode to see attractions but is was economical amd the staff very helpful. I didn’t try room service as it looked ordinary and the floors needed mopping along the edges there was some crusty dusty areas. My hand held shower nosel was defective and only sprayed at 90 degrees unless holding it. The shower was clean and the room had the usual free toiletries. The room had a balcony and the view wasnt so great

Hotel itself is in a quiet area. The walls do seem a little thin but I was not bothered by any noise at night. The bed is very comfortable and a full size refrigerator and freezer was a surprise. The room was large and seemed to have a fresh coat of paint. It did have a slight paint oder. The aircon could definitely stand to be cleaned and even updated as many functions dis not work, yet it was very cold. The staff was friendly.

IResidence at Sathorn is very nice hotel. I always stay there for the last 9 years when I am in Bangkok. It has a great location but quiet, easy to get to. Staff are excellent, friendly and very helpful, rooms spacious, comfortable and have balconyies. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends..

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times now. It is in the perfect location close to shopping, bars, Silom, patpong and all modes of transport. For what it offers it is relatively inexpensive. The staff are generally friendly and attentive.

As Itinerary : 7365934774862, I am not satisfied with the room condition that provided by this hotel - I resident, they are not checking the facility before allow next customer to live in. We are travelling outside until midnight on the first day, we are live in as usual, but we realised that the air condition is leaking water and isnt cold enough and we found out our clothes that we brought has been wet, this is the matter i never met before. Furthermore, in term of condition enclosed on Expedia website has mentioned about free late check-out 2 hours extension but the hotel asked to check-out at 1 PM.

Please make sure that every hotel advised the term and condition accurately as same as expedia mentioned on website

Conflicting responses from the front desk

I’m sure if it has something to do with the English comprehension of the front desk staff or our ability to understand what they’re saying in broken English at that time. We got conflicting statements from the staff. Initially, we were told that breakfast is not included. Unfortunately, we found out on our lasr day at the hotel that it WAS actually included. Other conflicting statements include the 100 baht fee (each) they require from us for the use of an adapter & iron. The adapter has a price tag of 100 (baht). Not sure if they meant that I was to pay a deposit. When I told them that I left my money in the safe in the room & asked if i can pay them if i can pay when I check out, they agreed. Upon checkout though, I was not charged for the use of the adapter at all.
These might seem petty, but the breakfast confusion could have saved us money had they told us correctly about it.

Great location in a fun neighborhood. The hotel is nice, clean, and the staff is wonderful. The wifi could be better. Request a room on a higher floor, as my first room was on the second floor, and someone would be sorting glass bottles to recycle every morning at 6:30 a.m. Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel. Great value.

The hotel is tucked away in a Soi, next to a lot of great food stalls, lovely shops and bustle. The Soi has a lot of character, and is walking distance from BNH and from Sala Daeng BTS. The hotel has shuttle services to the BTS, and they co-ordinate it pretty well.

The staff do an amazing job - always friendly and doing their best to accommodate you and mark your stay great. I had a great time chatting them.

Room was cool - modern, functionable, and I loved how the bathroom had a huge shower, and the housekeeping did an amazing job everyday.

I will be staying here the next time I’m in Bangkok!

Tucked away in Sathorn

I residence has a number of hotels around Bangkok. This one is tucked away in a perfect location in Sathorn. Off the main road and within walking distance of markets, cafes, cool bars and Silom this is a great option. I was upgraded to a deluxe room which was spacious, had a full size fridge, cooking facilitates and a balcony. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

Small room but great location in Sathorn

Don’t confuse this hotel and it’s brother in Silom, they are vastly different. While this hotel is tucked away in soi in Sathorn it is centrally located with easy access to Chong Nonsi BTS, soi convent, Silom complex and Lumpini Park. There is also an abundance of small cafes and cool bars. While the room had all the required amenities it was very small with the bed pushed up against the wall.due to poor design the bathroom was different to move around in. Renovations are needed especially someone who can paint a straight line.

Best Little Hotel Found in Years

Amazing little hotel, only be in operation for 6 or so years, great staff, very helpful and friendly, basic breakfast served is simple, but healthy. Dining staff, especially the head cook lady are great. She can could of some of the best soups I have eaten and years and always and different one each day for breakfast. Watch for the Grand Opening of the the new hotel building end set for end of Dec 17. It is really a fabulous bldg, roof top pool and lots more goodies that the old building didn't have. Will have same friendly staff and cooks at the new facility. Nice quiet location, good restaurants in the local area, even had local wine tasting bar. Old style Bangkok neighbor, very laid back, nice street foods stands and more. With in Walking distance of Silom area, but like being in another world in that area.

Nice hotel, easy to get out to Taxi or walk to store. A little bit far from BTS we have to get Tuk Tuk ride. Hotel has shuttle service on the schedule to BTS station. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Room were clean and bed were comfortable. The furniture a little bit rundown but the shower and bathroom are nice with hot water and good water flow. Only one thing we don't like there are tiny cockroach coming out at night.

My 3rd time at this hotel, but less satisfied than ever from the smaller room and it was not near elevator as requested (although understandable no guarantee condition), no microwave in room (fortunately 7-11 nearby as well as using food delivery service), but the major problem was my booking paid in full could not be found nearly half an hour, which never happened anywhere else!, until finally it came out that booking was kept in their Expedia file instead of Hotels.com, which however should not be the case since I submitted the ID Card at check-in and it should be found no matter whatever channels I made the booking, isn't it?

I go to Bangkok every year to visit family and I stay at i Residence every time if they have room. It is close to family and in a lovely quiet neighbourhood with great bars, restaurants and coffee shops. Walking distance to sky-train, subway and the Silom Road Night Market.

budget hotel with certain shortcomings

Stay was ok in general but it has to be mentioned that there was only a once per day shuttle transfer to the nearest BTS station which is located in 20 mins walking distance. The advertised sauna does not exist. When it comes to breakfast you are better off saving the THB250 per day as you will be able to get much better food nearby for less.
Overall a pleasing stay in a quiet neighbourhood but there are better hotels for the same price available in BKK,

Stayed here many times over the years. This time I had a one bedroom suite. Very impressed with the comfort simple decoration. Free ride on scheduled time to the train station. This was in a tuk tuk before but now a mini bus. Hotel has done minor renovation with great results.

Basically a good clean hotel in a sidestreet.

This is a good hotel, up a side street,next to a building site in a good part of Sathorn. There are a couple of groovy bars nearby, including one of Bangkok;s best...Smalls 50 metres away. It is in the Embassy district so it is safe. The is a good European breakfast place nearby...Boomerang, run by some Thais who have come back after 30 years in Australia.
There is the full range of street food, from fried bananas to Khao Ka Moo....good local shops also.
The hotel itself is a little run down, but clean, the staff are polite and there is a shuttle tuk tuk up to the skytrain,
Not a honeymoon hotel, there is nothing romantic about it, but it is very good value for money.

A good sized room. Free shuttle to BTS. Wifi and breakfast were extra. A problem keeping food hot so I stopped having breakfast after a few times. Tuk-tuk from BTS was 150 THB, without luggage it is easy enough to walk from Sala Daeng. Staff gave me a map of BK which allowed me to get to everything I wanted to see by BTS or metro. I had to make an international call from the room and it was surprisingly cheap.

I book the hotel as it says there is rooftop bar and lounge and I did not know they have two hotel. My stay was nice the room good but not enough nice smell and there was some sort of flies. Breakfast good but not much variation. Nice place to stay.

Overall I found this hotel is great& good location

My stay was nice but only a few things could be improved . Staffs should b a bit more friendly, air-con is noisy .

Very modern hotel in a great location

The location is great (a very lively area with nice restaurants and bars) and the hotel is very clean and modern. The staff is friendly and speak good English.
A bit far from the beach though...

Reasonable Hotel

Staffs are helpful. My only minor qualms are (1) wifi can be a bit spotty - maybe it's coz I'm on the last one down the corridor, and (2) hot shower is erratic and difficult to control. (3) The sauna is no longer available, and their website has not been updated accordingly. So, this is a bit of misleading info. Other than that, everything is fine. Room is cleaned daily, which is important.

GOOD MORNING VIETNAM

Ok hotel

For about $30+ USD per night,
the hotel is a great find, The hotel
is in a great location, a real Thai neighborhood and not that far from the major BKK attractions.
The rooms albeit are smallish but are
comfortable and very clean.
Cable tv is limited to 10 channels.

The staff is very, very honest.
Breakfast is good +.
Hotel's free tuk-tuk service is good.
Remember to tip !!
