Everything was its usual Sukhothai copaceticness! Just wished I'd held out and waited for the room I'd booked. Hated the room we paid over the top extra for to get into earlier! Won't do that again. It definitely wasn't the up-grade we had to pay for. Mosi riden too!

This is a great hotel as other 5 star hotels but different and in a unique category with its calmness, beautiful gardens and excellent design. We loved it and would stay there again. There are many great hotels but this stod out as being different while meeting all expectations. This is what we look for when on vacation.

La chambre était dans la résidence au bout de l'hôtel et il a fallu payer 2350 baths pour une chambre correvt. La caution du coup n'a pas été suffisante, et après avoir dîner avec notre fils à leur restaurant nous avons eu droit à un message pour aller augmenter notre caution.
Nous partirions le lendemain ! !!

Je pense que lechef du check in n'est pas au niveau d'un hôtel d.
Il nous avait proposé 69 euros pour nous faire entrer un peu avant 14 h... Du coup nous avons mangé au Carlton.

We are overwhelmed by how incredible our entire experience was! The service was beyond anything I expected — every single staff member was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, and you can feel the pride they take in keeping everything perfect.

At the club checkout, the staff — including a manager — heard that my husband had been sick and immediately offered him refreshments to take with us in hopes he would feel better. That level of kindness and thoughtfulness truly meant so much.

A special shout-out to Victor, the doorman in our building. He was so kind, helpful, and welcoming every time we saw him. Truly such a pleasure!

We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly, highly recommend! ✨

Tucked away, the Sukhothai Bangkok is a respite from the city. It has such quiet elegance, timeless modern Thai design, kind and helpful staff. Having not stayed there in many years, it is great to know that is is better than I remembered. Be sure and eat at both restaurants, enjoy the pool and sadly we did not have time to get to the spa. Always a next time!

Tremendous Stay - will return again

We had stayed here previously in November 2022 and enjoyed the hotel. On this occasion it was even better!

Again, we had a well appointed room with club access and found everything to be ideal. While a large hotel, the team are superb making you feel very at home and more like a close friend.

On any returns to BKK, we will have no hesitation in returning to the Sukhothai.

We had a wonderful 10 day stay at the Sukhothai in Bangkok. It is a real haven in such a large busy city. The staff were great especially Pam on the Concierge desk who was incredibly helpful and Kratai who was so helpful for evening dinks, breakfast and afternoon teas. We had a fabulous room an executive suite so roomy and I loved the pool area. The breakfasts were also fabulous and the dining room is such a beautiful place to sit in and the staff could not be more helpful. It is an older property which has been designed so well that there is a great sense of space and tranquility around the hotel and grounds which is truly luxurious. We especially loved walking past the lily pond on our way out and into the hotel. We would love to come back for another stay!

Staff are all very friendly, approachable and professional. The rooms and facilities are clean. Breakfast spread was very good, with great freshness, and with a wide variety of items. Location while quiet, lacked nearby shops. One mistake was made in my spa booking, as it was never made known to me during the booking, that only male spa therapists were available during my time slot. I ended up cancelling my booking but my time was wasted.

We love staying at this hotel: it’s our 20th time! It’s quiet, has a higher standard of clientele, the pool is great and the new spa looks amazing, though perhaps a little expensive. Great breakfast too. The staff are marvellous.
Would love to see refillable toiletries instead of the throw away miniatures and solar panels to produce clean energy and hot water. It would be even better as an adults only hotel or at least with a children area and pool separate from the adults.

The impossible is possible here

We just enjoyed a stay at this little quiet oasis in the heart of Bangkok. And booking the hotel and room with the Club Lounge access was a very good decision.

At the Club Lounge you can for example enjoy afternoon tea and wine and great complimentary food in the evening. The service is just perfect with manager Pack in charge of his competent team. He can also help with spa reservations and everything else. Thanks.

We had a few issues upon arrival but all was professionally taken care of by assisting manager Eve and Trippy. They made the impossible possible and helped us to a fantastic stay.

We will choose this hotel again since we also loved the pool area and the great gym. And the rooms at the Club Lounge are great.

We will be back.

Overall good, except one glitch.

The hotel is in general very good, particularly when taken into account value for money. There was one glitch during our stay. My wife went to the gym changing room in the morning one day to steam and sauna. When she went into the changing room she found out that the steam was not turn on so she went to the gym reception to ask for assistance. However there was no female staff on duty (only one male staff) so he can't really go into the female changing room to help but did told my wife how to turn the steam on. After the steam my wife went to take a shower but tried all three shower boxes has no hot water. She waited for some five minutes with the three showers turned on to hottest but still no hot water so she showered in cold water. Other than this unfortunate incident, the stay is overall very good. Staff are polite and friendly.

A spectacular, lovely hotel

The Sukhothai Bangkok remains one of my favorite hotels in the world as it has for the past 25 years. It is an oasis in the heart of Bangkok, but physically and spiritually. They continue to maintain the gardens and the buildings beautifully and the staff is excellent. The breakfast buffet is extravagant. It doesn't offer a river view of course but it makes up for it with its lovely water features. It's been many years since I was there and I'm happy to see how little it has changed.

While we highly recommend this property, it may not be the best choice for first-time visits to Bangkok as it is located in a central business area and not close to the popular tourist sites such as the Royal Palace.

Quality, Design in an unconnected Location

While this was the best room of our 6 week journey, we did not rate it as the best hotel. There is not alot of 'fun' or 'smiles' here, except for door people and pool people. A little sombre. Mos tof the pool loungers were 'reserved' for most of day ( a pet peeve) and some not occupied the entire time we were at the pool. Italian restaurant just OK, and did not live up to the expectation the prices afforded. We needed to take taxi or ride share everywhere we wanted to go as there was not much walkable in this location. Lovely pool but in a weird spot requiring walking out and across the driveway.

Luxury and purity and often associated with each other and every hotel in Bangkok is absolutely laden with gimmicks. Not so the Sukothai. Every detail is so perfectly considered every offering so an obtrusively excellence that the place exudes quality with without ostentation. Perhaps it’s as close as a five star hotel come to the Tranquility of a monastery. Not to mention it is huge spacious and gracious in ravishing grounds set in the middle of the banking district. The hotel chains may do what they do. This place was an extraordinary vision when it was built continues with great subtlety to upgrade and remains exceptional

If you want old school luxury this is the hotel for you. The staff are friendly, know what they are talking about and very helpful. The experience is calm, peaceful and relaxing. We went from staying here to the banyan tree hotel right next door and there is no comparison. The rooms are clean and spacious, the pool is amazing, big and plenty of cabana spaces. Overall I think this is one of the best hotels in Thailand and the rating it has on Expedia does not do it justice.

It's a beautiful hotel with great service. All the staff are very nice, polite and helpful. Got upgraded to a very nice suite and tasty snacks. The hotel is close to a park, walking distance. Jogging in the park is very nice, a great way to kickstart the morning. The pool is amazing, great for photos.
