I recently stayed at this hotel and had a fairly pleasant experience overall. The rooms were decent in size and comfortable enough, although they do feel a bit outdated and could benefit from some modern updates. The cleanliness was acceptable, but there were a few areas that could have been attended to more thoroughly.

The location is somewhat out of the way, which may not suit everyone, but it does offer good access to public transportation, including the metro and SkyTrain, making it relatively easy to get around the city.

One of the highlights of the stay was definitely the breakfast — it was lovely, with a nice variety of options and everything tasted fresh. Overall, a reasonable stay with some room for improvement.

Local of hotel was very good, with both MBK and Siam Paragon being very close by (3km walking distance) and quite a few food places around.

There's also a gym for those who like it, breakfast was very good and varied with many option. Staff was kind and friendly.

Staff was friendly and its very convenient to have a 711 and salon and spa down stairs but the wifi doesnt reach the higher floors, the emegency doors at least in my floor was always left open so anyone could access from outside and it was then getting rain inside. Wasnt terribly clean but shower was hot. A bit over priced considering but safe and well enough for a short stay

This was probably the most disgustingly dirty hotel I’ve stayed at in my life. It would get a zero stars if I could. The bugs in the garbage can that scurried under my bed when I pulled out the bag to sit outside after they didn’t clean our room. The crackling light that sounded like it was going to start on fire yet wouldn’t turn on. The leaking sink tap. The hole is the wall. No screens. Actual dirt and food on bed skirt and walls. The dirty cups that were wrapped as if clean. The dust bunnies hanging off the AC and shelves. The card needed to stay in the door to leave electricity on yet the electricity stayed on half the time so we never knew if our refrigerated food would stay cool. The rainfall showerhead didn’t work. I also felt really bad for the lady that came to run on the treadmill while my daughter and I were in the gym. The treadmill was so loud she was embarrassed to run and ended up leaving to run outside instead.
However, the neighborhood felt very safe although it was in one of the busiest streets in Bangkok. I’m pretty sure a few of the ladies that sat around in the parking lot were working girls. Bike parking was safe and convenient. And the elevator smelled amazing.

I’ve stayed at this property back in 2017 and in previous years to that and prior to that back when this property was named Chaydon Sathorn. The hotel is not very outdated and is very dirty. There is mold in the bathroom and lots of mildew. The floors are very dirty in the hotel so bring slippers if you decide to stay here. Checked right out after less than 3 hours of being there. I still give it to the hotel that it’s a safe and convenient location and with 7/11 being just right downstairs it’s very convenient. The nail salon and massage spot downstairs are still legit as I remember it being. The staff are trained correctly and are very kind, but over all the hotel needs to be completely re renovated!

Live with the locals

First room I got was very noisy because of heavy traffics on Sathorn road. Good thing they immediately let me changed to a different room upon request. 2nd room still had some traffic noises, but it was liveable. Smelled electrical burn when I turned on the TV. After I turned it off, smell went away within minutes. I like the clean restroom, clean sheets, pillows. It does not look like a hotel.

The hotel has seen better days. Pictures do not show reality. We were give an acceptable room after refusing the first two shown. Whole property needs a thorough cleaning. Staff were good. We had to ask for cleaning the room, coffee, towels etc, even though we left the \"room make up\" request sign on the door, and they promptly provided. Breakfast offered is basic, but you can ask for something different if available. Some nights the lights outside the room were turned off leaving the hallway in total darkness. Good restaurants etc a 15 minute walk at least, and so were the Metro and BTS stations. 7-11 on the ground floor was very convenient. Only two areas where you can cross Sathorn rd, one just north of the hotel and a bridge about 3 blocks south.

Strange experience, the owner claimed they did not receive the payment from Hotels.com. At the end the owner was nice and offered free breakfast. Apparently, she let us go claiming she checked with Hotels.com and they confirmed I did not pay - yet I had a proof the money was deducted from my account. Weird!

It served its purpose. Somewhere to sleep, bathe and relieve myself. My room looked nothing pictures on the website etc. It was a tired rundown version plus 10 years. If I had a race horse and it looking like what my room did (well the equivalent) I would shoot it in the face and move on. Other than that the staff were pleasant and my whole experience of Bangkok was a positive one.

Overall it was only a okay okay hotel, as there’s ants on top of the toilet bowl area, breakfast was okay, we had some problems where the hotel charge us more than what we booked. The tour desk woman’s attitude is terrible where it is located next to the lobby. We think that the tours were very expensive after listening to her explanation and she kept on bothering us even after we walked out she came out and ask us to consider again, and the next day also. The receptionist upgraded us to executive as we booked two superior. There is only one elevator at the right hand side and it’s small so ask for a room near to the elevator if possible.

Perfect stay

The Embassy Sathorn was a fantastic place to stay. I stayed here for around a week and it was in a fantastic location, only a 10 minute walk to the nearest MRT station. There is a shop located just outside the hotel which is very convenient. It is also a 10 minute walk to the beautiful Lumphini Park which is not to be missed! I will definitely be staying here again upon my return to Thailand

Very basic accomodations with excellent service. All the staff are very friendly and work very hard. Front desk staff helped with a package delivery. Breakfast was nice buffet with a variety of choices. Only negative is that WIFI is free but only available in the lobby. Very good accommodations for the price.

Close to transportation needed.

Upon checked in to executive room, TV spoiled and the the technician has to repair the TV all over the floor due to no other room available. Wasted time waiting for it yo be done. Second day morning, air conditioning was leaking and have to waiting till 2pm after then can change another room. This hotel is run down. They should do some upgrading.

Embassy Sathorn would have been a great hotel:
1) If there was WiFi. (Although WiFi is included in their amenities, WiFi was almost nonexistent while I was there. I couldn’t even get WiFi by going to the lobby.)
2) If the air conditioner was quiet. (The air conditioner rattled so loudly that I slept poorly the first night. I turned it off, but was very hot. I asked to move the next night, but was given a room so far away.)
3) If the staff were competent. (My friends came to visit me, but each on separate occasions were told I wasn’t listed as being a guest.)
4) If the oiletry amenities ere more. (Only a bottle of shampoo and body wash were offered.)
5) If the hotel was located further from the main road. (One could hear traffic and cars passing at all times and in the middle of the night at all times of the night.)
6) If the hotel was near the BTS (Sky train). The hotel was a 15-minute walk to the MRT (metro).

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone very dirty not cleaned correctly had to ask for towels and tea coffee because they forgot to leave them don't think they spent more than five minutes in the room cleaning it and that included changing the bed covers. We had a balcony with our room that was never cleaned in all the time we was there it was thick with dirt you could tell the rooms have not been cleaned because when you had a shower and came out into the room and walked round your feet was black again
The bed must've been infested with bedbugs my wife has come out with all bite marks all over her face ears arms and some on her legs I also have bite marks on my legs.
The only thing I can say is that we had a problem with the air-conditioning on two occasions and it was repaired straight away but apart from that this hotel I would not recommend
The other thing is they are demolishing the building next to the hotel we should've have been told of this prior to checking in the noise from the work we could hear in our room But they have put a notice at reception apologising but we still should have been told

Budget hotel, reasonable price but old facilities

The hotel staff kindly upgraded me to a superior room with windows. There’s no view to outside with window anyway because it’s blocked by another adjacent building. I would be disappointed if I paid for this room with windows myself. But as I was upgraded for free, it’s ok.

Anyway, the location is fantastic situated at the main road with subway in walking distance. Plus the hotel staff are nice.

We had no electricity for few hours

We arrived back to hotel past 10pm after a full day of sightseeing. When we got out of taxi, we saw a number of people at the parking lot and the lobby was very dark. We were told there is no electricity. It would have been fine on regular days but we were exhausted. We wanted to bathe, lie down on our beds and just sleep with aircon. We were actually looking forward to that. Then this lady was going around talking to guests and saying it can happen to any hotel. Yes, that's true. But maybe other hotels have back up generators. Electricity was back maybe past 12mn. I guess we really did get what we paid for. Hotel is very cheap and comes with breakfast.

No hot water for me, even after several maintenance attempts. Water drains about 20 mins or longer after cold shower and seems to have a constant drip. Mildew smell and mold everywhere in bathroom, seriously, black mold. Definitely a flip flop wearing shower. No face/hand towels. No hand soap.

Don’t get the room cleaned - they only flip the sheets so where your feet were, are now where your head is. More importantly, they will leave your room door open along with many others for quiet some time. All your valuables are open to all, including mosquitoes.

My friend wanted a new pillow because it smelled terrible and they charged her 50 Bhat. If you want a second key they wanted a 300 Bhat deposit.

Nearly time to check out by the time I checked I.

Meant to check in at 2pm we arrived at the hotel for 1.55 .. We were told to wait to one side while hey prepare the room .. After 50 minutes of waiting we were still unable to check in, after asking the staff we will still didn’t know they reason for the delay .. after an hour we were let into the room! No apologies from the staff either .. the reception area was full of people which seemed to have the same problem.

I like this space, it feels a bit kinda like a commercial condominium complex but the staying was pleasant and I enjoyed it a lot. The only downside is that, going to Silo m, it's a bit of walk about 500m, I don't mind that but I though I should just put it out there.

Haunted Hotel!!! So disappointed! Never ever seen or visit any hotel that worst like this in my life! First entrance to hotel smell bad at front desk. Lift is very dirty andold. Scary atmosphere, lights on the walk way are dimmed and some broken!!? Everything is old, chair in room is so dirty!

We asked for changing the room and our new room was even worse!

Wall, light, windows on the walk way are old and some broken, feel like walking in an old hospital! If this is a hospital theme hotel, I would say it's greatbut it's not!!!

We checked out with no refund!!! Don't even ask for a new room, as they said it's the same for all room!!!

Good for a Consulate visit only

I stayed here purely because it was close to the Australian Embassy. The economy room I had, was spacious, there was cable TV (in English), a fridge, a safe and a desk. The bathroom was bright and the shower separate. The wifi was the only problem. I needed to work and the wifi signal was not strong enough on the 5th floor. They had a router placed in my room which worked for an hour, after that I was without wifi all night. They did offer to move me to a smaller, more claustrophobic room, which I declined. I believe all rooms are without views as they run in a horseshoe shape with a veranda on the outside. The staff is surly, but helpful if needed.

Overall is ok but it's not gonna be one of my first choices.

it's not their fault. I have a Sleeping Difficulty. The facility is on the main road, Sathorn rd., which is horribly noisy at night kept waking me up every now and then, exhausted.

Easy access if come only by taxi or own car, hwevr not many parking #. There's 7-11 and jungle bar, smoothies and bites shop, for a quick meal. The room is adequate n clean. Staffs are ok.

Picked this hotel for its location to the Australian embassy and translator services and it was ok for a night or 2, Breakfast was ok tho not a lot to select from but again it was ok. Room was small but I guess I got what I paid for and again it was ok. Probly would not stay again as there are better in other areas but for my purposes at the time it was ok. On the up side it is close to Silom and plenty of food and entertainment options so if that's what you want without being in the middle of the bustle then again the Chaydon is ok for you money.

Convenient clean economy hotel

Stayed 1 night to visit Canadian Embassy but found out visa dept had moved to Suhkumvit Rd/Soi 13 ..about 30 minutes away..not within walking distance. Saw some of central Bangkok.. Economy hotel which did have a \"bar 31\" on 1st floor but bar space now vacant. Was a former gym on 5th floor but also now vacant. Guest rooms in good condition.

Not happy, they didn't give us a big bed

I specifically booked a large bed and when I got there they told me they were full and only had a room with 2 twin beds left. They gave me the option to cancel, which I considered. But since it was just one night we were staying, me and my girlfriend pushed the two twin beds together so we could sleep together. Then the twin beds kept rolling apart! It was late and we were tired and the cost of taking a taxi to find another hotel wasn't worth it which is why we stayed, but I am upset and the management. They even looked at my reservation and read that I said I wanted a large bed. I even asked if we could at least get free breakfast and they said no. They put us on the top floor, which looked like we were on come construction roof. This place is far from anything and a long walk from the metro train station. I don't recommend this place to anyone. I will not be back.

Inexpensive hotel in great location, poor view

Considering the price, this hotel is fairly nice and the room is spacious and reasonably comfortable. Close to Lumpini Park, Silom, etc. One major drawback: the room has a terrible view -- the non-transparent window opens to the small inner yard, facing other guest rooms, so either you have to leave it closed and thus see nothing at all from the room, or you open it and see the other rooms and expose your interior to the view of all. Also, could be noisy if neighboring rooms are occupied.

Great value!

I stayed in an executive room, so my comment is based on this type of room. The hotel is located super close to a few of the embassies on Sathorn Road, and and 8-minute walk from the Lumphini park and MRT (subway) station. The buffet breakfast was Awesome! The general hotel premises look somewhat dated, but still functional. The tile floor in the room looked like it could use more cleaning, but it's probably just old, not dirty. The western-style bed was super comfy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Booked through Hotels.com and got a much better price ($35 USD) than the one published at the hotel (around $70 USD).

nice getaway

Meal room service was nice and quick. Location very central to CBD and night life. Clean and tidy. Housekeeping should knock first before just coming in. I would stay there again.

The hotel charge for everything, you have to pay for the toothpaste toothbrush when you want to call someone you have to go at the reception and pay 20bathsper minute , I spent two nights there and after the first night I asked for an upgrade but not worthy at the end since it was for a smaller room but with a window. They have a tuktuk service but they don't really have a schedule.

When I first came to the reception two problem came out which are deposit and room key card. I was in Bangkok for short-term holiday so I prepared just 2500 Baht which was enough for meals and transports but they requested me to pay 1000 Baht as a deposit. If I knew it I could withdraw it separately but I couldn't so my plan has been changed. As soon as I got into my room I realised my room key was not working out so I asked the reception but they were like they were reluctant to help me and expecting some tips but this was not my fault so I didn't give them any tips. The room was not dirty, it's okay to stay but it was out of toilet paper and tissues which was a big problem for me. Not too bad to stay but I always heard some noise or music from the ground floor because there is a bar outside on the ground floor. Location is not bad. If you are willing to walk 10-15mins it should be no problem.

Wotse stay ever

Booked the queen bed but ended up getting twin bed instead cause they said they were running out. During the stay! No wifi connection and no hot water in my room!

Good but expensive for what you get

Room was very spacious and clean. Everything was great other than could hear a lot of noise from both downstairs bar and traffic on the main road. Also on the second night the wifi did not work in the room so had to constantly be in the lobby. Hotel is not located near anything a 7/11 across the road otherwise it is quite a walk to nearest train or metro service. Staff were nice and pleasant.

Roll the dice

I stayed here twice, the first time on the 4th floor, it was a great stay, comfortable and clean and the wifi was amazing which is important to me - no complaints, so naturally I booked the next week as well. I got a room on the 5th floor, the internet connection was horrible and there were noises and lights penetrating into my room at all hours of the night. I don't know why one week it was good and the next it wasn't, I go up every week and I have since switched hotels for a more consistent stay.

Decent stay, Good location, 5 min walk from Silom

Had a comfortable stay however the room had some issues with the ac. They shifted me to another room, but took forever, since the language is such a problem in Thailand.
