Actually booked this for a family member travelling with us. For the money, this place was clean and simple. The rooms face the pool area. The location was very easy, walking distance to shops and malls. There is a drive in area where taxis and gojeks can drop off. Good choice for what you pay.

Good hotel

Pros: Great location, close to shopping centre and restaurants.
Walking distance to Kuta Beach.
Staff are very friendly and i would return for the staff and location.
Brekkie is great.

Cons: Had a pool access room however very noisy from people above in other rooms esp during the night.
The walls are paper thin and can hear people talking. The rooms are dark and the bathroom in particular esp having to put makeup on.

Difficult to get in and out of pool as the ladder was hard to step up on.
Unfortunately no sun where the sun beds are.

Paid for pool access with mini bar and hotel did not honour the mini bar or provide a refund.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel with nice breakfasts. The pool is great very inviting. With full blackout curtains, it was so easy to sleep in. Only negative was the signs that curtains need to be replaced very soon.

I don’t know where the reviews came from, I booked this hotel based on the reviews and we were highly disappointed. We booked 8 rooms, it was affordable but was not worth it. Towels were thin & old. The lights aren’t working well, mosquitoes in the room, it’s basically an old hotel with poor maintenance. I’ll never come back here again.

We were looking for a quiet break. We achieved that. This Hotel is well located with a number of outlets within 5 minutes waking. Service from staff and team was absolutely outstanding, very happy with the pool. Only real downside was the mattress in the room. Apart from this, everything would have been excellent.

The staff and management are fantastic. However, the property is not like the photos they have on Expedia or anywhere else. The property is in need of an update and more maintenance as it is looking very tired and unkept. The pool area is very disappointing. The manager was very obliging however in giving me an upgrade to their sister hotel Bali Rani for a reasonable cost which was 100 times better.

Nothing nice to say! get there and can't us pool as it was green and told we can walk to sister hotel Bali Rani - that would be great but what about when you get back you are just as hot! Every time to you in and our of room the keyless entry fails, the safe had to be replaced, air conditioner broke, the shower head didn't work and we got it replaced and still didn't work, Mosquitos really bad in the room! Never stay there again, most disliked hotel in Bali ever!!

Hotel is very tired and needs some repairs and upgrades but otherwise clean. Hotel staff too polite with guests ignoring pool times and allowing after hours use. Several times during our stay partying in, and at pool was still going after 3am and nothing was done to stop it, disturbing for other guests as all rooms open on to the pool area.

DO NOT STAY HERE, when booking the Rani hotel make sure you book the one opposite the Dynasty Hotel, my 2 requests were direct access to the swimming pool (regretfully this did not exist as per there website) and I booked 6 months in advance requesting that all 4 rooms in the one booking which I paid for in advance, be together as my children were staying in them this was guaranteed, however all rooms were separate, not even one was together. Never stay in room 153, it has the worse bed I have ever tried to sleep on, the room is noisy as is close to road and all the hotel amenities, staff talking all hours of the night, we had to have the air-con fixed twice, the air-con thermostat was broken in another of our rooms, the breakfast was very ordinary, this is the 23rd time I have been to Bali and I would never stay at this hotel again.

This hotel is a lovely boutique hotel located very close to the Lippo Mall. Staff are very friendly and happy to assist any way they can. We stayed in a pool access room which was worth the extra money and as a bonus pool access rooms get a free mini bar (a few beers and soft drinks each day). The aircon is freezing cold and the bath rooms have baths which is great. The cleanliness of the room was not quite as I would have hoped with patches of mould here and there, the same dirty glass in the bathroom for the 10 days I was there (and it wasn’t me that dirtied it!), toothpaste splashed on the vanity and wall from a previous guest that were not cleaned and a bath drain that was partially blocked and not fixed properly when I alerted staff. I am not too fussy and happy to wipe down the bench myself but I would have expected clean glasses in the bathroom and that the bath drain was fixed where possible. Despite this, the hotel was great. The pool was the perfect temp and the hotel food was great. Plenty of variety at breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to friends and would stay there again.

We been staying for 7 nights at the Rani Hotel. Spacious room, cheap food, great helpful staff. Location wise , near to LipoMall where is supermarket,cinema and food court. Laundry shop, opposite the hotel $3.50 / kg for tourist and 0.60 cents for local. Highly recommended to stay here for budget travellers.

Rani Hotel is an adequate hotel in a fantastic location. All your needs are met at this hotel but do not expect luxury. Breakfast is tasty and pool is good - 1.2m deep so good for kids. Balconies overlook the pool. Shops directly across the road so don't have to go far. The hairdresser across the road is brilliant at what he does and 3 of the family members got good cuts. If you are travelling on a budget this hotel will provide for all your needs including disposable toothbrushes. The staff were extremely helpful with our late checkout and organizing cheap transport to the airport. Thanks Rani!

We stayed in this hotel for 6 nights and that was just \"alright\". The hotel itself was quite old and outdated, and the photos on expedia don't reflect the actual hotels state. It was probably great maybe 10 years ago, but now it needs some renovations. The bathroom was old and there was even some rust in the bath.! Also, the bed and pillows were way too hard for our liking and we didn't sleep so well.
Otherwise, the air-conditioning was working well, and the breakfast and spas were good too. The hotel is right in the heart of Kuta, so we had everything near by.

Great little hotel.

Good for a short trip stay, close to airport and central on Main Street of Kuta. Easy to walk everywhere. Basic buffet breakfast with street view. Pool has no gardens surrounding it. Def hotel not a resort. One day pool was closed for maintenance you can go to their other hotel about 10 mins away tho. And room aircon can be a bit inconsistent.

The hotel is situated conveniently, close to all shopping malls, markets and the beach as well as only a short drive from the airport.

The boutique hotel only has 55 rooms making the stay more personalized, the staff are very friendly and happy to assist.

The only disappointment was the equipment needs upgrading, pillows were old, towels and sheets not crisp white, but looking tired and umbrellas old and moldy.

Both of my requests were ignored. Our room was at the front entrance and our daughters room was the other end of the hotel.

A beautiful and serene hotel away from the crazy streets of kuta!
- the breakfast buffet was great and I would highly recommend. We found that we ate a lot at breakfast and usually didn't eat again until dinner time
- the pool is beautiful and relaxing. Surrounded by frangipani trees and their flowers fall into the water and looks stunning
- hotel room very spacious and cool and relaxing (exactly what you need after kuta streets)
- hotel/room service spotless
- hotel employees very helpful and friendly and spoke good English
- try out the spa treatments in the hotel too - divine!

I would highly, highly recommend the Bali rani hotel and spa. Accommodating for everyone; families, young people, older people, couples especially etc...

Didnt get pool access room as booked. Aircon had to be repaired twice. Several other issues too complex to go into detail here.
My wife and I and our friends have been to Bali many times and have stayed at several hotels, found this hotel to be well below expectation.
Overall couldn't recommend this hotel to others. There are much better budget to mid range hotels in South Kuta to choose from.

Well maintained hotel

Our stay at the rani hotel and spa was very relaxing and we were well looked after by the hotel. All staff we very kind and helpful, and spoke good English. Hotel provided everything you could think of (even slippers!). Pool was beautiful and big (we stayed in the pool access room), and was very peaceful and quiet even though it was just a few metres from the hustle of Kuta streets.

- Buffett breakfast
- 24 hour room service
- everything provided
- free mini bar
- very friendly and helpful staff
- great cocktails (ask for enik!)
- well priced spa

This was our first trip to Bali and we found the Rani Hotel & Spa very disappointing.We would not class the hotel as four star but more three, at the very best.
We found that the towels were very dated and over the long period of time they were no longer white in colour but grey and some had cigarette burns in them.
The bed sheets were also in the same condition as the towels with stains and musky smells as well as being grey in colour and not white. We have to find a decent smelling towel to put over the pillows at night.
Even though it was a non smoking room the smell of smoke was pretty evident because people were allowed to smoke on the balcony and would often smoke in the room. As a non smoker, this was pretty evident on arrival as there was cigarette extinguishing stations positioned through out the building. I am not against smoking but I feel that anyone who is renting a room and asked for a non smoking room, then there should be no facilities on offer such as ashtrays or extinguishing stations. As a non smoker you can tell and notice when people have smoked in an area.
The pool loungers were also insufficient, because out of a 56 room complex there was only 7 loungers. less than 10 percent. Smoking was also permitted anywhere around the pool so if you were able to obtain a pool lounger then you could end up with a smoker either side of you.
We departed early and went to another hotel. We were not even asked why we had decided to check out three days early.

Excellent first visit to Bali.

First time in Bali and found the hotel to be a great introduction to the area. Far enough away to be quiet but close enough to the 'action' to walk to most places. Wonderful staff, nothing too much trouble for them and our room was clean, cool and just three steps from the pool. Perfect!

This Hotel is a little bit out of the main Kuta area but still near some main shopping complexes and not far to go to everything else. We found the hotel well run and a nice pool outside our room door. Breakfasts and meals were good. The staff were exceptional and all happy people.

Leaking air conditioners, leaking ceiling in the bathroom. You can hear people talking through the ceiling and walls. Generally an old building that need renovating/painting. Breakfast was nice but nothing compared to the dynasty or febris. Not a large choice.
