The design of the rooms is brilliant in my opinion. Subtly industrial unpainted walls steel light fittings exposed RSJ. Designed to look like a tap room as they have their own music bar next door. There are a couple of small issues in the room, silicone could do with freshening up and a few marks on the walls thst shouldn’t really be there but over all great room

Enjoy my stay here

The location of this hotel is great. It's near the airport. There are many restaurants nearby, but the Indonesian restaurant at the lobby is also great (I ordered Mi Goreng). The hotel can be contacted by WhatsApp.

Cool rooms we used this room to put our teenage kids in and they said it was super trendy, good breakfast, quiet rooms spacious and clean. Hot shower and big bathrooms! Plus I love the scent in the lobby, forgot to ask where I can purchase for my home!

This is my second stay here. As my flight out is late, I choose to book a room for the night even though I leave early evening to go to the airport.
I got an updated room, it was great! Has everything you want, not lux but comfortable.
The reception staff are great and the on site restaurant is really nice. Roof top pool gives views to the airport.
The location is brilliant, nice walk to Discovery Mall and plenty of great restaurants nearby.
I would definitely stay again but for more nights.
Something about the area I really like, not crazy traffic like further up the coast,

Great service, wonderful buffet breakfast, room slippers, toiletries, manifold dining options within 200 metres of the peroperty, easy access to convenience stores to buy drinking water etc.
There's no view from any of the rooms we stayed. One of the 2 rooms we had lacked a closet or anywhere to hang any clothes which was a real issue.

Property and room was very clean. Staff was nice and courteous. But the room was very small and when we opened the curtain we only saw the narrow side of the building looking like a deep pit. So we just closed the curtains. So a big thumbs down for that. Otherwise the room was very clean and we had a nice hot shower and enjoyed the free welcome drinks.

We stayed until yesterday. The rooms were comfortable and clean, but on the first day they gave me a room that I had not paid for. In addition, we had two rooms reserved and we bought some items, but oh surprise, when we spoke with the other people we were traveling with, they told us that they were They had lost some of the purchases they had made and I told them that I had lost the same items that we had bought (women's underwear) we were outraged since they stole our underwear, just from us women. In this case, who is responsible if one does not notice the hotel and trust its staff? So I leave you a piece of advice: always check your belongings and don't trust people who seem to be good.

Skip breakfast even if you are hungry.

I should not be complaining for a room at this price. After the rename to stark boutique, the industrial rooms were nice and comfy enough. However, skip the breakfast at all cost, bugs in the dish and cockroach roaming freely.

Have stayed in this property a few times and thought it would get better. But the breakfast and bugs are still there after so many years.

The property was in a generally in need of renovation which was being done.
there was no hot water , the pool had no umbrillas for shade the spa was closed for renovation ,the roof only had a small window facing a brick wall.
iAfter 2 nights I cut my stay short and moved to another hotel.
I wouldn't recommend this hotel in its presnt state.
I asked for a refund but was told it was not refundable

I stayed here for three nights and enjoyed it. For the price, it's a great value. The hotel is very close to the airport and near many shops and restaurants. The property itself is decent—easy check-in and checkout, cool rooftop pool, nice cafe and restaurant downstairs, etc. The room itself was decent. It was a bit small, and the bathroom was pretty rundown, but it had everything I needed. I would stay here again on the way to exploring other parts of Bali.

This hotel could use some touch ups (paint chipping). The lift was out of service during our stay. Not too much of an inconvenience for us, but may have been for others. Also, the lift doesn’t take you up to the rooftop pool. During check in the staff seemed a little distracted, but their service was good. They were quick to resolve any issue we had. Overall, the stay was comfortable. The sunset was amazing at the pool and there are many restaurants close by that are delicious.

Room was in terrible state very dirty and I won’t go in too many details but let’s say we moved out from the hotel very next morning, room was dirty, hair, dirt, bugs and some pills and rubbish !

Close to the airport, dank and smelly

We chose this as it was close to the airport. They charge 100,000 IDR for pick up, local taxi charges just under 75,000 IDR (18,000 IDR for the taxi, 50,000 for the airport entry). The hotel staff were nice and helpful. The room was very disappointing. It smelt terrible, I believe mostly from pipes as the smell settled a bit when we ran the shower. There was a brown stain across the white curtain, the bed heads were dirty, there was no hand soap. They provided three small waters and charged for extra. At one point our key didn't work to get into our room and a passing cleaner let us in without checking any information with us. Loud at night with live music but that's to be expected in Kuta.

Where to start. Water leaks from lobby ceiling, water leaks from ceiling up to the pool and mould on walls, and the stairs had a towel to soak up water. Staff rude at breakfast. Booked a executive room, if that was executive I would hate to see the basic rooms, the electric socket had a piece of earth cable sticking out, bathroom had cracked tiles, bottom of door had started to rot, just a very shabby room. I would definitely not go back.

was an older style building with large reasonable rooms. renovations happening on the foyer so that was an inconvenience. Pity they saw the need to charge us for bottles of water that were not even supplied. big downer at check out, charged $ 20 on $2 worth of water which we were not given. unnecessary and stupid way to do business.

I have stayed at this hotel twice. Staff is accommodating and breakfast buffet has a great selection of Indonesian items. This last trip I had a flight at 1:30 am a rented the room to get some sleep before going to the airport. It is very close to the terminals so you avoid the notorious Kuta traffic.

Bali's hospitality but come prepared

The service downstairs with the concierge and front desk people was great and very helpful, starting off wit a complementary drink while we sorted out the room and made sure the room was ready for us. The room was big and the bed was huge. Unfortunately it was the smaller things that made the stay well just ok, started with the missing toiletries, no iron board or iron available, no hand towel or hand soap, and having to call downstairs for a hairdryer. The pool was ok, but it was a bit dirty, shame since it was on the rooftop and we would've visited it more if it was cleaner. Even though there was some ups and downs, I would stay here again, but i would bring my own hand towel and skip the pool, if its not cleaned.

Hotel pictures are not reflective of actual hotel. Hotel is old and outdated. More importantly, the room was dirty and musky. Bathroom was dirty. When we booked the room we requested a double bed however were informed when we arrived that only two twins were available. They did eventually find a double room for us after some prodding. Overall, would not recommend this hotel to others. For the price, could find better elsewhere in Kuta.

Nice, clean and quiet environment. Great location - 5mins to beach, 10 mins to shopping centre, 5 - 10 mins to airport, 10 mins to Kuta Beach, 20 mins to Hard Rock Cafe - all by walks. The rooftop pool was fantastic, with great view.

When we stayed the elevator was broken, and the pool was under maintenance so was not impressed at all. Some staff were very friendly, others not so much. Wouldn't stay again especially since there are much better value hotels around there

The name 'boutique' is a misnomer as this is a larger type of hotel. Friendly staff as with all Bali hotels. Room condition was below average with broken safe, electric jug and floor was uneven and damaged in places. Overall the hotel feels a bit dated and needs some sparkle. Hotel location, however, is very handy to malls and the airport.

Near Kuta Beach however communications could be better

Hotel is very near to airport and transfer is cheap and easy to arrange (70,000 rp per way).

However, communications between staff could be better. I have a parcel that was due to arrive and informed the front desk staff prior the arrival.

When I approached the hotel staff in the evening, staff mentioned nothing was received.

After 2 hours, I called reception and still no news. After I contacted my seller who mentioned that they have sent the item at 2pm, I called back reception when they insisted that nothing have been handed over.

After insisting them to check the storage space, then my parcel was found.

Should the communications between the different departments improved, the stay would be so much better.

Don't be fooled by the \" black & white minimalist\" theme. Once you go upstairs, 1 lift for all rooms! the rooms' old! pillow cases are fraying, old towels belong on the floor as mops, bathroom layout is very bad. bfast is very mediocre. Swimming pool used by people wearing full dress. This hotel is full of Indonesian, Chinese and Indians who are noisy in the corridors at all hours of day AND night.

Beautiful, but can be better

J Boutique is near to everything. The breakfast is just ok and variety is not much. The room is beautiful but the bed sheet and pillow case are yellowish (not white). Furniture is worn out. Just opposite the hotel, there is a K Circle mart and also provide currency exchange. The staffs are very friendly and nice.

J Boutique was just Ok

It was a little rough around the edges as far as how clean the room is and the bathroom left much to be desired. The staff in room service could not understand English very well and sent the wrong food a couple of times but the food was ok.

The roof top pool was very nice and the staff was friendly so all in all it gets 3 out of 5 stars.

I had a comfortable stay at the J Boutique Hotel. The reception area is welcoming, the room is clean and the room service is very prompt. On 2 occasions I called for a hairdryer and 2 extra towels, both times the staff brought it up in less than 5 mins! *impressive* Breakfast may be simple but the taste of the food is good considering the amount paid per night.

our small group stayed at this hotel as one of us had a very late arrival. before heading up to another part of bali. the hotel lobby looked much better than our rooms. we were disappointed to see that the bathrooms weren't anywhere close to the pictures. they were clean, yes. but our expectations weren't met as the bathrooms didn't even match the guest room, or even the hotel lobby feel. we enjoyed the rooftop pool. and the breakfast was standard fare. the service was cordial and helpful. would we return? probably not (unless they do actually post pictures of what we could expect - especially the bathrooms. not pictures of bathrooms in upgraded or more expensive rooms). thus a \"3\" overall rating for what we'd call \"exaggerated\" advertising or impression, which had caused unnecessary disappointment.

The roof top pool is not accessible to disabled people.
The lift only goes to the 4 th floor then you have to walk up 3 flights of stairs.
It says that you can swim up to the pool bar, this is false information.
It says that the pool is Olympic size, it is not.
The staff in the restaurant were rude. The food was terrible .
The body form mattress was an overlay over a very worn, very old mattress

Hotel is cute and rooms at comfy but smell like smoke and mold.
The lobby area smells of cigarettes because people smoke in the lounge area.
People smoke near the lift and breakfast is poor

As expected

The hotel was beautifully designed and really attractive. The staff were super friendly and smiled every time they saw us. They asked us if we wanted our room cleaned even when we didn't have the \"please clean room sign\" on our door handle. The meals were a bit small (but still tasty) compared to the rest of Kuta's restaurants, but I expected this because it was one of the finer dining restaurants. Breakfast seemed to be the same every day with minor differences, which wasn't a problem for us because we missed it 5 out of 8 days (due to our late nights because EVERYTHING is open late). The rooms were as expected but the bathroom was a bit small for my liking. Locality wise it was a bit far, closer to the edge of Kuta, this made getting too and from Kuta central and Legian beach about a 20 minute walk if you were strolling or a 4 minute taxi ride (or 10 minutes with hectic traffic) for about 15,000 rupiah maximum depending on the taxi driver (about one dollar 50 cents or something similar). This made it ideal for business travellers due to being close to the airport. The rooftop pool was as I expected and the spa was amazing, we felt so relaxed afterwards. All round it was well worth it, however next time I visit Kuta I will probably go to a hotel located closer to the main area so at night time the hotel is walking distance instead of taking a taxi.

Nice hotel.

The hotel was exactly what we expected based on the promotional materials and other reviews. This hotel is a definate yes as far as price, location, and cleanliness. My other half was dissapointed with the mani/pedi at the spa, but everything else was excellent and we give high marks. The wifi signal was a bit weak in the rooms, but there are lounges near the stair wells on each floor, and the wifi units are right there so there is enough bandwidth for skype or other communications. The beach is a short 200 meter walk, and you can reach the Discovery Mall walking North along the beach about 1Km. Staff was quick to respond to every need. Laundry service was reasonably priced compared to other hotels.

The comments we read about J Boutique was all true...The deco was black n white, which is sooo romantic and the location was near to the waterbom park and the shopping centre eg: the discovery shopping centre,ect..except the breakfast has not much of variety but overall really enjoyed our stay there and for those looking for halal food it is just oppisite our hotel..

Clean and Friendly

Nice and clean hotel with friendly hotel staffs. Affordable and stylish. One thing bad is the location which is not that convenience to the places like Legian and Kuta town. Have to walk quite a distance. It will be better to reach the places in taxi. Btw, the taxis are cheap in Bali.

A good hotel in Kuta

The rooms photos better than the rooms. They are a bit run down but whay you would expect for the price range - they were clean.
Breakfast was fine.
The bar down stairs was a bit noisy from our room

We Booked for Christmas holiday at the last moment so we were happy to find the
J Boutique Hotel.... we booked the last room, We found it quit comfortable though to start with we were put in a room with the view of a brick wall, very depressing but we were quick to complain as it was very clostrafobic !!! We were then put in a lovely room looking out onto the street.....The staff were great...Not really happy with having to pay $60 each for New Years Eve dinner as it was very basic, but we ate and went out very quickly ...overall experience was fine, but I prefer staying in a more relaxed open setting with gardens and pool setting ......so no more last minute bookings in the school holidays .....

The staff`were very friendly and helpful. We arrived at 9.00 am and was allowed an early check-in within 5 mins. The hotel also provided us with a free transport to the airport when we left. However the hotel could do better with the breakfast menu. What they have on offer is limited choice of breakfast selections.

Great hotel

I thought this hotel was really good, and had a lovely stay. The staff were friendly and the service good. They offer free transport to nearby places which is convinient. I also loved the interior design of the hotel and room. I stayed in the executive room which was very spacious with a really comfortable bed. The breakfast was good.

The only thing that was disappointing was the food when I ordered room service. So I'd rather go to a restaurant elsewhere.

All in all really recommend this hotel.

hotel in Bali

would recommend this one as it was nice and clean, friendly staff, close to mall within 5 minutes walking...lots of market shops etc. The only bad thing was breakfast..it was cold and gross no matter what time of the morning you went. Supper at the beer garden outside though was good and moderately priced.
