This resort is a 10/10! From the moment we stepped into the resort we were met with nothing but smiles and the best customer service I’ve ever experienced.

Our concierge Julia, was an absolute dream! The most helpful, thoughtful and kind woman.

The food was amazing, the Tokimeku (hibachi) and Blue Agave were amazing! The facilities are gorgeous, including 2 Nespresso cafes!

I booked Paradisus La Perla through Hotels.com specifically to enjoy a beachfront vacation for my birthday. Unfortunately, the experience was significantly different from what was advertised.

The beach was effectively unusable due to massive amounts of sargassum and ongoing cleanup operations involving heavy machinery throughout the shoreline. The issue is not the natural occurrence of sargassum itself, but the fact that no warning or disclosure was provided before booking. During my stay, hotel staff informed me that guests booking directly with the hotel were being advised of the beach conditions in advance. Had I received the same information, I would have selected a different destination.

In addition, several advertised amenities were not provided, including a USD 150 spa credit and complimentary sparkling wine. The Wi-Fi in the room was unreliable, the room telephone was not functioning, and the TV remote control was defective.

I raised these concerns with both the hotel and Hotels.com. While Hotels.com ultimately offered a small credit, it did not adequately reflect the impact these issues had on a trip that was planned specifically around enjoying the beach.

My recommendation to future travelers is to verify current beach conditions directly with the property before booking, especially if beach access is a primary reason for choosing the destination.

The resort was super clean with a modern design. Julia, my concierge, was the highlight of the trip. She made sure that every need I had was addressed - she even came to personally knock on my door to wake me up for my early morning flight and she walked me to my car at four in the morning. The buffet changes every day so you won’t get bored and in particular the Japanese restaurant on site was delicious. In addition it had a great espresso bar with many choices of desserts, and pastries. Moreover, it was a quick five minute ride to fifth Avenue and the hotel staff was always attentive to me getting back-and-forth. Lastly, the pool set up was ideal and was very spacious.

Most luxurious experience I’ve ever had. Service in all areas was exceptional, the resort was so clean, beautiful and inviting. Turn down service was great and our concierge Carlos Aquino checked in us daily & made sure everything was going smoothly. I was ecstatic that the room was upgraded & we got an outdoor tub. The room was HUGE & so comfortable. Drinks & food everywhere! Our bartender Victor in the reserve lobby was amazing. The little bites they had in the lobbies were so good! My fave restaurant experiences were at Tokimeku (sushi) & Blue Agave (Mexican Night) where they had the 3 Maria’s singing and dancing & the food was amazing! Also the Michelin star restaurant Sal Steak was so delicious! The breakfast buffet was well stocked & had a variety of food options. The Nespresso cafes were great and their cakes & sandwiches were delicious. The beach was well taken care of, although the sargasm was pretty bad some days, the hotel did clean the beach so you could still enjoy it. The pool was fun. We played pool volleyball and met a fun family that we played with. The swim bar had friendly service & the cabanas were well worth it ($31) especially if the lounges are all taken. Food at the Fahrenheit by the pool was great & convenient. The resort used fresh ingredients that I could see the difference once I left the resort & visited Cancun (especially the Guacamole). We were able to get tours/excursions directly from the hotel via Optium. Cannot recommend enough.

Had a really nice stay overall. The hotel is clean, well kept, and just a nice place to be. The staff were the best part — super attentive and helpful, which made a big difference. The food was also better than I expected, especially for an all-inclusive that wasn't super expensive.
The one real downside was the beach. It was completely covered in seaweed so you couldn't really use it, and sometimes you could smell it in the outdoor areas of the hotel. The drinks weren't great either, but honestly that's pretty normal for most all-inclusives.
Would I go back? Probably yes — mostly because of the staff and I really liked the vibe of the place. It's also in a good spot if you want to do stuff around Playa del Carmen. Next time I'd just check the seaweed situation before booking.

The resort was very clean, and housekeeping did an excellent job throughout our stay. The food was average and may not appeal to people who are used to authentic, high-quality cuisine. The service overall was okay.

Unfortunately, we were unable to enjoy the ocean because there was an excessive amount of seaweed. I have never seen so much seaweed on a beach before, and it made swimming impossible.
What really made our stay better was the waitress her name REYNA at the beach bar. She was always attentive and brought us great drinks. She even went out of her way to bring a special drink and a cake for my daughter’s birthday. I had informed the resort in advance that it was my daughter’s birthday and hoped they would do something special, but unfortunately, the resort did not acknowledge it. Thanks to the beach bar waitress, my daughter still felt celebrated, and we truly appreciated her kindness and excellent service

Overall the resort was clean and the staff was helpful and professional. We were given 2
Rooms in the Reserve which were very spacious and cleaned twice a day.
We made reservations for Hibachi the first night which was great. The second night we had reservations at Cielo (Mexican) which was pretty terrible. How does the Mexican resort mess up Mexican food? The birria tacos were far from birria..watery & very plain. The short rib was pretty basic and the sweet potatoes description as a side was misleading because it was smeared on the plate as presentation only..not a side of mashed sweet potatoes. The appetizers were just ok.
We decided to schedule Hibachi for our third night to avoid another unpleasant dining experience.
The buffet for breakfast was good. The lunch & dinner buffet items were just ok with not a large variety.
The beach unfortunately was a huge disappointment because of the Sargassum. The water was brown and murky and smelled horribly. Although the beach/sand was cleaned it was still impossible to be near it due to the smell. The smell also reached the pool area and hit you in the face the moment you walked outside your room.
The overall entertainment at the hotel was sub par. We have stayed at resorts where they have karaoke shows and other theater shows but there was none of that. Sometimes there was music playing at the pool, sometimes it was very quiet. Staff/pool entertainment was no -existent except for once daily aqua-exercise.

We have been traveling to this area for over 15 years and this was the best resort we have stayed at. Love the adults only but still could use the family side. Definitely recommend the Reserve option. Elmer, our concierge was awesome. He took care of everything for us but was never overbearing. Loved the bartender at the Asian restaurant Saturday night ( I can’t remember his name). Nancy and her partner bartender at the Martini bar were awesome. Jesus, at the Ginger bar was great also. Some of the best food we have had…the hibachi was excellent. Blue Agave had the best tacos and one of the best servers- Eduardo. He actually took the time and explained the menu. Sal steakhouse was amazing but you have to pay extra if you want a good size Filet. We went to Sal’s on our Anniversary and they really made our night special. We didn’t go to the special Reserve pool because we were having so much fun at the Fahrenheit pool. We had the best waitress at the pool ( again, I can’t remember her name) but I know she always remembered us. She would even find us in the pool. She even remembered that I like sparkling wine with cranberry juice! Oscar was another bartender by the pool that was very attentive to us also. What I didn’t like - no ceiling fans in the rooms., The pool chairs are awful - very heavy and hard too move around. Also, I wish they had more open air spaces on the adult side like the Ginger bar in the family side.

We had a good stay overall. The rooms were clean, and we had a great time with family.

The biggest downside was definitely the amount of seaweed. It was absolutely awful and really ruined our beach time. There were mountains of seaweed, so the only time we could really enjoy ourselves was at the pool. I would have appreciated a heads up about the beach conditions, because we ended up paying for a catamaran tour just to visit another beach. I expected to spend most of our time at the all inclusive resort, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.

The food was okay, but we were not the biggest fans of the Mexican buffet. I definitely think that restaurant could improve the taste and quality of the food.

Another thing I didn’t love was the check in experience. When we arrived, we were just pointed in the direction of our room instead of someone helping us or giving clearer instructions, so we had to figure it out on our own.
Overall, we enjoyed our family time and the rooms were clean, but the seaweed and a few service details really affected the experience. The staff was excellent. Thank you for our stay.

We had an amazing experience here! We came for our 10 year anniversary and Rosanna (our concierge) made sure that we felt special and taken care of. Her thoughtfulness and attention to detail is something that would make us want to return to this resort. The pools and restaurants were also a highlight of our experience. With our package, one dinner at Sal was included and that was our favorite food by far! But the breakfast buffet was great every morning too. There was also an excursion to a cenote included in our visit and that was one of the most beautiful and cool experiences we’ve ever had in our lifetime! Our other favorite relaxing activity was spending time at Kannan beach club. We went 3 times and Arileth and Elizabeth took AMAZING care of us. They were so personable and attentive. Can’t wait to return!

After researching and comparing several resorts we decided to celebrate our anniversary at Paradisus La Perla. This resort exceeded our expectations. The resort is sooo beautiful! The rooms are very spacious (we stayed in a junior suite - nature view). Housekeeping was top tier. We never ran out of anything (towels, snacks, mini bar). There was always plenty of activites day and night. The only thing I would give less than 5 stars for is the food - mainly the buffets. Although the food was on a heater, it was still cold (which was very odd). The buffets also centered more around mexican and indian cuisine (I love both).

Overall, we were thoroughly impressed and will be looking forward to visiting another one of the Melia properties in the future.

Really great relaxing first time stay in a Reserve Junior Garden Suite adults only section for long weekend. We will be back.
Exceptional staff all around with really personalized assistance. Angelo, the Reserve Pool Concierge, went out of his way to make us comfortable and surprised my gf with balloons and cake for her birthday. A true angel!
We also felt comfortable there as a lesbian couple, which is rare at a resort!
ROOM - large, comfy bed, double headed shower, big bathtub, balcony overlooking pool. Only downside was that closets smelled of mold.
The entire grounds is beautifully designed and also maintained some original mangrove habitat.
FOOD -lots of dining options, food was good overall but could use more flavor and spice level. Highly recommend scheduling all your dinner reservations when you arrive so you don’t have to bother with it later.
BEACH - beautiful with lots of lounge chairs, a bar, towel station and showers. There are some rocks on the ocean floor so suggest bringing water shoes.

Paola, Guest Concierge, went above and beyond to help us take advantage of activities like getting couples massages and reserving a beach cabana with grilled seafood for lunch.
Franco and Estefania with the Circle member team were also wonderful and really responsive in meeting our needs.

The property is split between family and adults only. The restaurants have below average quality food and you need a reservation. The buffet is above average in food quality but at least you never need to wait. They have a steak restaurant that is not included and way over priced for the food.
The spa is great and it includes a sauna and with private pool and jacuzzi. Prices are negotiable $100 person or lower is where you want to be.
All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. They all want you to have a good time.

Great hotel can have better quality of how they take care of the resort. Some pool bathroom doors were falling apart from the humidity. The wall was chipped in some areas throughout the resort. The floor had a few cracks but nothing overwhelmingly bad. Just for the price and status of the hotel, I figured it would be kept up to date. The service was excellent; the staff made this stay feel great.

The cleaning staff did an exceptional job throughout our stay - everything was thoroughly cleaned, and they even folded and organized our belongings. The only exception was our last full day, when it appeared that only the beds were made.

The resort offers many restaurants, but most are only open for dinner, which you need to make a reservation for. During the day, your options are limited to the buffets, the swim-up bars, and the Sante restaurant, which is only available with the \"Reserve\" package.

Overall, the resort feels luxurious and everything was quite good. The staff were excellent for the most part, though we did encounter a select few who were rude and unwelcoming. The biggest downside was inconsistent communication. Different staff members gave us conflicting information about the resort's amenities and \"Reserve\" benefits, even though a member of our party spoke fluent Spanish. That inconsistency from the staff side is the main reason I'm giving it three stars.

Wow - this resort is absolutely incredible. It truly exceeded our experiences. The level of service, care and attention to detail is something else. Not only were we upgraded to a beautiful master suite but the staff remembered special events like my boyfriends birthday and surprised us with champagne and dessert - shoutout to Arturo for remembering this detail on a conversation we had on the beach on day 1. He is an amazing member of your team and we want to thank him for this special gesture.

Alan at the front desk was also great, so friendly and professional. Sofia our house keeper was extraordinary. All the bartenders were amazing - Alfonso made the best drinks and always made us smile.

Usually the food at resorts is the missing piece but the food here was so delicious and restaurant quality. Our favorite restaurants were The Asian (sushi and Hibachi) and Lemon fish (seafood).

The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The only downside was the seaweed this time of year but this is all across Cancun.

We had the best time and we can’t wait to return. Thank you for the best holiday.

My husband and I had an AMAZING time at La Perla! The Reserve was absolutely worth it — every staff member made us feel special every single day, especially while celebrating my husband’s birthday.

A heartfelt thank you to Eduardo, our Concierge at The Reserve, for taking such great care of us. Ariadna at Sante and Yusmara at the Reserve pool provided wonderful service, and Yasuky at the Fahrenheit Bar always created a great atmosphere. Alejandro, concierge at the timeshare, was also very helpful throughout our stay.

Raquel, the hostess, and Hazier at Sal Steak House made our dining experiences memorable. At the Spa, Wendy, Isabella, and Ruby gave us a relaxing and rejuvenating experience we truly enjoyed. Special thanks as well to Angelo at the Reserve towel booth for his kindness and attention.

We also attended the Reserve presentation with Carlos, and it was completely hassle-free — it literally took only 40 minutes! We even received a free massage, and we would definitely recommend this presentation to anyone. Make sure to ask for Alejandro!

We truly felt welcomed and celebrated the entire trip. We can’t wait to come back!!

Review of Paradisus La Perla
I’ve stayed at Paradisus La Perla twice before and always had great experiences. Both times, I booked a Junior Suite Reserve with a nature view and was placed in the Reserve building, which is quiet and relaxing. Because of those positive visits, I chose the resort again for my 40th wedding anniversary and even upgraded to a Master Suite Reserve with a nature view six months in advance.
Unfortunately, this stay did not meet the standard I had come to expect. Instead of being placed in the Reserve building, I was given a room in the main building overlooking the main pool, which is extremely loud. I also did not receive turn-down service on the first night. When I asked to be moved to the Reserve building, I was told that only Junior Suites were available and that I would receive no credit for the downgrade, which was disappointing.
For my anniversary, I booked a romantic dinner for two at the La Perla pavilion. Unfortunately, a worker was power-washing the sidewalk about ten feet away during the meal, making it hard to enjoy the atmosphere. On top of that, the food arrived barely warm, likely because the waiter had to carry it from far away. Overall, the food quality seems to have gone down compared to past visits.
I will say that the staff remains friendly and helpful, which I truly appreciate. However, between the room issues, the noise, and the disappointing anniversary dinner, this stay fell short of the excellent experiences I once associated

Our stay at **Paradisus La Perla - The Reserve** was nothing short of a five-star paradise, perfectly situated along the stunning beaches of Playa del Carmen in the heart of the Riviera Maya. The location is truly unbeatable — close enough to enjoy the vibrant town, outstanding local golf courses, and the breathtaking nearby cenotes, yet peacefully secluded for complete relaxation (and yes, the Quiet Zones actually allow you to \"Embrace the silence\"! The property is spectacular. Everywhere we went was spotless and clean. The food was absolutely delicious and stood out from any other resort we have been to over the years. I was very pleased with everything we at the whole week!
We stayed in the Reserve and it was worth the extra $$ as we got even better service from the staff and especially our concierge Eduardo M.
All the wait staff was very friendly but Marco and Carlos at Lemon Fish were particularly fun and attentive.
Our room was always cleaned at our preferred time of day which hasn’t always been the case at other resorts.
We will definitely be returning to the Paradisus for another wonderful vacation.

The resort is beautiful and spotless. We had a bit of a hiccup at check in but it was resolved quickly. Food was typical all inclusive-good enough, not great. The beach was cleaned of all sargassum each morning. It’s a lovely walk each way along the beach. Staff could not be any kinder or more helpful. As usual, the Expedia “resort credit” isn’t a credit rather is a book of coupons for small amounts off exorbitantly priced spa services.

There some things that were great some that were not. We have had butler/concierge at other resorts and they were so good this one non existent. The only reason to consider the reserve is for the exclusive restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Main pool is big fun if that the vibe your looking for. Overall customer service was not even close to that of an excellence property.

The room was fantastic. Very well furnished and kept. Staff came once or twice to room to replace drinks in mini bar. The buffet restaurant offered a wide variety of foods and some cooked to order. The other restaurants within the resort were disappointing. The bartender staff at both beach bar, and pool bar could use some improvements, the servers were all much friendlier. Private events happening at pool area and other locations of hotel displaced other guests and excluded us from enjoying those areas. Overall it was not the 5 star experience we were anticipating.

All inclusive places don’t always have the best food but this was sooo good, even the room service. Very clean, staff was nice. Overall would recommend!

We really loved the property and had a lot of fun. The restaurants had delicious food and the breakfast buffet was delightful.
We did not enjoy the dinner buffet.
The pool was clean and spacious, but we wish there was more lively entertainment at the pool, or atleast music playing.

I really enjoyed my stay at La Paradisus Adults only. From the beautiful lobby to the delicious food - it is one of the nicest resorts I’ve been to - compatible to the Royal Hideaway and Excellence. Service was excellent and the cleaning ladies were so so great. The only feedback I’d give is that I should have been informed that some restaurants were on the family side. I did not enjoy the Italian restaurant because it was way way too loud with kids. More on this when booking my reservations would be useful. Also I missed most of the fun activities because the tv screens were never updated for the adults only and when I would scan in the adults only actives never showed . This was very very disappointing as a solo traveller . Next time a printout for the week on the room I would want -

Our stay was very enjoyable. The rooms were very clean, well maintained and house keeping staff were prompt to cleanup every day. The dining options were also good. Some of the restaurants like Flora could do with an actual Mediterranean menu since it was advertised as such. The staff was very hospitable and responsive. We really enjoyed and stay. Thanks.

Unfortunately, this resort did not meet our expectations, especially considering we stayed during Christmas and New Year’s and paid extra for an upgrade to The Reserve, which was not worth the money. The Reserve area was just as quiet and uneventful as the rest of the resort, with no meaningful perks to justify the added cost.

The biggest issue was the lack of entertainment and overall energy. The resort was not lively at all, even on New Year’s Eve. The DJ with the violin played repetitive, boring music, and the vibe felt forced rather than celebratory. They even charged for tables to enter the New Year’s event, yet failed to create a fun or festive adult-only celebration, which is what we expected for an adults-focused resort experience.

Service throughout the stay was very slow, and the hotel felt clearly understaffed. Employees were constantly approaching us to attend breakfast presentations for the Circle membership, which became annoying and disruptive — if guests are interested, they should be able to ask on their own.

Cleanliness was also an issue. Several restrooms around the resort were dirty, and some restaurant bathrooms had an overwhelming amount of artificial fragrance, which was unpleasant.

The only real positive was that the resort is pet-friendly, and that part of the experience was great for our dog. Unfortunately, for us, the stay quickly became boring and frustrating. We would not recommend this resort to anyone looking for a lively atmosphere.

Paradisus la perla is a very nice hotel on the beach with mangroves . The hotel staff are outstanding. The choices of restaurants are also good. The beach has rocks in some areas making it not an ideal beach but overall was clean with minimal seaweed. There are many activities but night entertainment could be improved. The reserve concierge option makes reserving easier but not sure if it's worth the upgraded cost. The food was good for an all inclusive but the wine etc were not that good. The hotel is starting to show its age so renovations would help. I would definitely start bye we

The resort could be improved by providing hot tub or heated pool, higher quality of alcohol in the drinks and more serving staff at the restaurants and bar areas. Excluding the amazing price for this level of all-inclusive resort, this place is a no-brainer for those who know that this part of MX (Cancun-Playadel Carmen- Tolum) has the safest tourist areas in all of Mexico. This all-inclusive resort is high-end all the way, and “The Reserve” adults-only section and the family side is as well. The location of this resort makes it the perfect place for any gringo who can also speak Spanish because instead of having to pay the mini Taxi mafia that charges the high fixed price for every ride, you can use the InDriver app and avoid dealing with the Taxi mafia that runs the tourist area in the central part of town. Taking an Uber driver to the airport will only cost you $35 instead of $100 through the taxis. So I definitely recommend this place. It’s the best location for an all-inclusive hotel, beautiful beaches lots of stuff to do and just in perfect condition.

The waiters, waitresses, and customer service was amazing. Room was clean but a lot of things that were not in the roon were not in the best shape. The food was really good at most of the restaurants we tried. The downside is that there isnt much to do at night. The bars don't have a lot of sitting areas. The club is a sports bar that turns unto a club. Also does not have a lot of seating as well. We had some issues with our rooms and consierge were not able to help but customer service sorted us out on day 3 right away. They dont have many double bed rooms even though expedia sells it like it does. Expedia needs to fix their hotel information. Be aware that the steak restaurant is not included like the other resorts. You have to pay extra. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing time, this will work for you. If you need more things to do at night, this is not the place.

Went there three years ago, and returned just last week. Service and quality still remain impecable. Food is incredible, both at the buffets and the restaurants (had the chance to make reservations for two a-la-carte restaurants). Service is the one thing that makes this hotel well worth it. All the staff goes above and beyond trying to help you. Will surely be back for a third time.
