The room was spacious, clean, and had modern amenities. Not a current tv, so we couldn't BT to it, but that was fine. There was a nice balcony looking right out to the sea, but the better views of fhe coast are to the L/R and are blocked off by b alcony walls. The view on the website is what you will see. However, there are other seating areas where you can enjoy a meal, snacks, and a glass of something cold and a great view.

I was pleasently surprised with this property. The staff was extremely courteous and made us feel like home. Breakfast options were great every day. The rooms were cleaned daily. AC , shampoos , soaps and towels all good! The views are spectaluar and the access to the beach was good. They had limited parking but accomodated me 50 yards down at Sandro's garage. Great guy! The experience was fantastic

Best people...

I believe that since the whole Amalfi coast is outstanding a rating or impression can't be about views (outstanding and incredible), thus I can state that the hotel was clean, comfortable, away from the craziness or Positano… and close enough everywhere. Great location accesible and easy access to… everywhere.
The main difference?… the people…
They responded great when we requested any assistance to enjoy the area, they were warm and welcoming, the cappuccinos prepared specially every morning were first class… I don't have enough words to describe how they made us feel… as if we were in their home and not in an impersonal \"pass by\" short stay. Whenever I return to the Amalfi coast… I will never hesitate to stop by … Thanks for everything!

Wonderful location for bus access, friendly and helpful staff that made everything perfect. Generous breakfast with eggs meats expresso fruit everything you could want. Beautiful view from balcony. We walked throughout Praiano, hiked in the hills and easy mobility bus to Positano. Perfect stay. We recommend to all!

I booked a double room assuming that meant we would have two beds as it does in US. This was MY mistake. When we realized we didn’t have a bed for my 7 year old to sleep in, staff said the hotel was fully booked. We were okay that we would all three share the king sized bed. When we went to lay down we discovered that the footstool actually turns into a small twin bed. Hooray! My husband went to ask for sheets and we were told that was my fault, I booked the room incorrectly. They knew she didn’t have a place to sleep but offered no solutions, even asking us to just pay more for the error. She reluctantly gave the husband the sheets so my daughter could have a bed. It felt very sneaky in my opinion. The hotel is old which both gives it character but also plumbing seemed to be a problem. We heard loud dripping in the bathroom 24/7 making it difficult to sleep. The age of the hotel is a factor but I feel that some upgrades are overdue. Additionally, the location in general isn’t great for you’re hoping for a quaint downtown with restaurants and shopping. In the future I will stay in Sorrento or Positano simply for the logistics. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. My number one concern booking any hotel is cleanliness and this hotel was VERY clean which I appreciated.

The hotel staff r amazing! They greeted us with a bottle of rose when we arrived. The room was spectacular. There was a train strike that interrupted r travels and was able to spend one more night here. They also ordered us a taxi when it was time to leave. We r completely satisfied with r stay!

The hotel is very well located in a beautiful area, the breakfast is good, but you feel that the hotel is earthier saving money on you or cheep, i asked for new towels for the shower the answer was\" you have in your room\" I had to ask for new soap and shampoo, they didn't put in the morning, there are small little ants in the room, i understand its nature but if they had pest control it would have been nicer.
It’s not a bad hotel if you are looking for a place to sleep not looking for a hotel experience. The rooms are big and specious .

The owners and staff were so kind and personally interested in each visitor enjoying the property and their vacation. The care and warmth were so welcoming. Every detail was wonderful and special. Breakfast was always so generous and different each day with unique cakes and danish and scrambled eggs and bacon too! Vegetables, cheeses! Everything so beautifully presented and delicious! Super highlight of the trip is the landing on the seafront on the rocks. You are near enough to visit the grotto my swimming there!!! What a thrilling moment going into the cave! You can even stand up on the rocks in the back if you want! Totally fun and a real adventure! Loved it!!!

The staff at this property were great and helpful. The room we got was very small and plain. ( the brochure on Expedia shows beautiful rooms) the location of the room was like 100 steps down a staircase. Get ready to get your workout. The hotel is located facing the beautiful Amalfi Coast. Parking was available at $30.00 euros per night.
They also have a restaurant adjacent to the Hotel about 1 km distance. No air conditioning or fans available. The server was polite and professional.

My room was tiny but with a beautiful view. I couldn’t sit on the toilet without my knees being up against the opposite wall. Ac was good, breakfast was excellent (thanks Rita & Elena) & despite being opposite the bus stop, the frequency & capacity of the buses was abysmal.
With73 steps to climb to street level (1 for each year of my age) from my room, I was well exercised.
The magnificence of the coastal area outweighed any disappointment I may have experienced with the accommodation.
The price also felt extortionate, but was typical for the area & all tourist services associated such as restaurants etc.

Staying here on the cliff of the Amalfi coast in Praiano was an absolute dream! The private patio/balcony view from our room was amazing. Breakfast was included and was the best in Italy by far! Great and helpful staff, be sure to ask for parking if you need it at the time of booking as they have parking but it is limited! Had a great time, highly recommend staying here for a fantastic view & very close to the Praiano beach

The hotel is between positano and amalfi. So bus or taxi is required. There is a beach below thats convenient and has lounge chairs and restaurants as well. It’s the drop off point for water taxis too, much to keep us tourists entertained (haha). The room was clean and was had a terrace. The hotel has an outdoor terrace for breakfast also.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. They drove us to their restaurant nearby, although IL Pino, very close by was the best! Don’t miss it, and go early and sit in their backyard overlooking the sea. The drinks were great as well. Actually loved being away from all the hustle of the major attractions. Unless you are looking for very busy then choose either village, plenty of activities there. Enjoy the wine, journey, and making new friends!

Lovely clean comfortable hotel, magnificent location, and good value compared to the larger towns along Amalfi. Staff were lovely, helpful and pleasant. Building probably needs a little attention, jacuzzi was a bit tired, but perfectly useable, (and cleaned regularly). Bus stop out the front gives respite from all the stairs and hills that are unavoidable in this wonderful area. We made a great choice when choosing Hotel Torre Saracena.

This hotel is in a small quaint town but did have bus service right in front to go to other towns. Not able to get taxi unless you book private one in advance. We had a long, downhill walk to the cute beach and restaurants. (A few on the water nearby were amazing! ) The staff were friendly but not very knowledgeable as far as getting around. The room and bathroom were very dated with a tiny shower. Two mornings in a row we lost power and the staff didn’t know. One afternoon we lost hot water so my husband took a freezing shower. The beds were very hard with springs which was disappointing. The breakfast was very good. And the views were amazing from any area or room of the hotel. We still had a great time in Praiano!

This hotel in Praiano was excellent & we especially loved the hot breakfast buffet, the hotel’s location & the very helpful & kind staff. Our room & terrace was very spacious & clean. Our room’s terrace looked out over the Mediterranean Sea & included chaise lounge chairs for soaking up the sun in private. We were close to restaurants, taverns & shopping, & the regional bus stop for Sita Sud was less than a block away. We were also close to a small beach & amazing walk way along the Mediterranean.

We received an upgrade to what appeared to be the nicest room. The free breakfast was wonderful (and a necessary option based on the location). The mid-point location between Positano and Almalfi is perfect. Additionally, it is a great location to walk up approximately 1,500 stairs to the Path of Gods, which was difficult but very beautiful and worth the workout.

We booked a superior double with sea view , the room was very shabby, the pictures were very very deceiving. The balcony was overlooked by a common area so everybody could see you , no privacy . We asked to change rooms and were given a new room , which had we of booked would have a lot cheaper . We paid £250 per night which was most definitely not worth the money . The breakfast staff were rude and there was very little choice and the breakfast area was dirty ! Looking back on the reviews , each review had been posted 3 times so a good review was followed by another 2 by the same person ! If your thinking of booking , don’t go to the Tritone for a little extra but so worth every penny . I would not go back or recommend!

Making our experience on honeymoon very welcoming with complimentary Prosecco and booked us the best table at their local restaurant. Torre Saracena is an old but clean 3-star hotel. Has a great location, next to the bus station, no need to take the stairs so as to reach the road.
Breakfast has a variety of croissants, toasts, omelet, bacon etc and they offer you also espresso, cappuccino and black coffee!

We absolutely loved our time here. Great service and they have a jacuzzi hot tub when it's not Ok to swim in the sea, as it is sometimes rough.
Location - its located about 5km between Amalfi & Positano. Between two bus companies, there is a bus every 20 mins or so, BUT if the bus is full the it drives past, over and over again, we had a lot of difficulty. The taxis charge more to drop you to the centre of Positano or Amalfi, it is possible to get it cheaper of they drop you at the top of the walking path. Dont hesitate to ask others if they want to share a taxi as there are others that get frustrated with the buses too. Some of the smaller tour operators charge 4 Euros to get from Praiano but its not advertised anywhere. We did a tour with a company to Pompei, this is the one that will do 4 Euros to Amalfi. Then catch the ferry to Positano, it's an awesome trip.
Meals - There is no restaurant at the hotel itself, they offer a free ride down the road to a nice restuarant they have an association with. There are 3 other restaurants to try, head in either direction on the road for 60m or so and there will be stairs going down. On the Priano town side there are 2 restaurants that are excellent and the one in the other direction is lovely too with trellises of lemons hanging down.

The pictures showing on the web are way older. The hotel needs renovations. The installations are old or in really bad condition. Also some clean up around the installations will be a plus. Our room was located down bottom from the reception area not elevators neither good stairs to climb up

Lovely view. Pleasant staff. Room was small but A/C worked well. Parking easy. Breakfast is good. Making the trek to the water is hazardous and no live saving gear at the bottom. Worse is going back up 200 uneven steps. Best to head to a safe beach. We had lunch at the restaurant associated with the hotel (they take you by shuttle) and the seafood pasta was very good. However 5 Euro for a small bowl of chopped lettuce was way way overpriced (Insalata Verde). We had fantastic dinners next door at Costa Dive...great fish and the 5 Euro salad was large and colorful with tomato and radicchio (Insalata Mista)

This is a very nice boutique hotel with lovely ocean views. It is also extremely convenient as the SITA and Local bus stops are literally just at the door of the hotel which makes it very easy to travel along the almafi coast. Restaurants and mini Mart are nearby (mini Mart sells bus tickets).

Hotel Torre Saracena is an excellent place to stay if you are wanting to explore the Amalfi Coast. The staff was warm and welcoming including giving us a welcome drink when we arrived. The hotel is located away from the hustle and bustle of the busier towns like Positano or Amalfi, but there is a bus stop directly in front of the hotel when you need to get around. There are also several restaurants within walking distance (Marina de Praia) The staff was helpful with plans and knowledgeable about things to do in the area. I highly recommend.

On first impressions this hotel may look a little tired but actually it’s part of the charm.
We had 2 superior rooms which were large,great space,separate dressing area and bathroom. Decent size balcony with table,chairs and deckchairs and a very impressive,beautiful view! And spotlessly clean.
Breakfast was also very good,mainly continental but with lots of choice.
Location suited us fine,we were in the area for a wedding but a great advantage was it was very easy to get about,the Sita & local bus stop outside the hotel.

The stars of this hotel were the staff. All of them. Welcoming,friendly,polite and extremely helpful.
We would definitely return to this hotel.

The location and view can't be beat. The staff were friendly. However, the hotel is dilapidated and there are few amenities. Breakfast was okay at best. On balance, this hotel was a big disappointment. We would not stay here again.

Great place to stay, close to the main tourist traps but much quieter. Staff really nice and helpful. Very good breakfast, but a steep walk to any restaurants. The hotel is on the main road ( but with little noise) which is good for public transport. We booked a parking space which is essential although to be honest a car is of little use because parking in all the tourist sights is virtually impossible and the coast road worrying if you have never driven roads like that. Prising village is a steep walk up from the hotel and Praiano port a steep walk down! But worth the effort. Recommend this place.

A fantistic position, overlooking the coast & sea, & ideally place in the middle of Positano & Amalfi. The rooms are very comfortable, with no doubt sea views from all, & ours had a nice little terrace. The breakfast was plentifull, with a great selection of fresh Hot & Cold options, & we had a meal in their restaurant, which is about 1km away, though you are shuttled there, so a great service - the meal was good, albeit the pasta with local white fish wasn't quite as expected, the fish having not been taken off the bone, or d-scaled, so not every mouthfull was pleasant ! - other than that, the food & wine was of a good standard.
Praiano itslf is a lovely small resort, which seems to have had a recent update of the walkways, etc, & has quite a few bars / restauarants.

Good value for the area, hotel little bit tired, we had a small room with tiny bathroom but loved the location and we had lovely private balcony, bus stop right outside hotel for Almafi, Positano, Sorrento, you can walk to local restaurants, the hotel recommend a fabulous restaurant where they arrange a lift - so park the car and enjoy didn’t know about the 10 euros parking but absolutely worth it not to drive - buses a couple of euros - Would definitely go back.

Beautifully situated with easy parking! I read the disappointed review about all of the steps down to the water, but the website I saw showed parts of that steep climb so I knew it was a thing. It was too cold to go into the water, but I assume when it’s warm they put a ladder from the lowest platform into the water so that you can actually swim after climbing down. Breakfast was tasty.

The views on the patio and the rooms are breathtakingly beautiful. The breakfast was very good and enjoyed outdoors overlooking the Mediterranean....it doesn't get any better. The hotel surprised us with a bottle of champagne and a congrats note as we had previously stayed in the same room 30 years ago. Our adult children were also in awe at the beauty of the Praiano/Amalfi Coast and where better to enjoy it but a small, quieter town as Praiano.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The views were great, we were welcomed with a glass of processco, and the staff was very friendly. It’s located close to a couple of really nice restaurants and the boat harbor. The bus stop to go into Positano is literally right outside the door and only cost 1.80€. The breakfast buffet was included and was good. We would stay here again on a heartbeat. One thing to watch out for all along the coastal towns are the ants. Any of the the handrails leading down or close to the water are covered in ants. For that reason you have to be careful whe. Going up or down the stairs, because the rails are accessible. When I say covered, I mean thousands all over!

The staff John Carlo and Danny gave us a very warm welcome and parked the car after a nerve racking journey. Staff were very friendly and listened when we told them about the drip, drip, drip of water from the toilet but never did anything about it.
The hotel appears to be run by young people, which was nice. Fantastic choice for breakfast along with a stunning see view along the Amalfi Coast. There is a hot tub at the hotel but that is all.
The staff's local knowledge was brilliant and local transport was on the door step. Literally on the door step!
Our room and décor was ok, clean, (standard of housekeeping varied from day to day) plumbing needed some attention. As a base to see the Amalfi Coast it is a brilliant location.

The location of the hotel is right on the coast with beautiful views of the sea. The staff is incredible. Paola is the best!!! Anytime we had a question about the coast, she gave us prompt information. She also went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding, and there is direct access to the water for swimming. We'd definitely go back to this hotel.

Great view- terrible bed

The hotel overall is ok, the staff is very friendly and helpful. However the bed was terrible as were the pillows which made for an uncomfortable stay. The breakfast in the morning was decent and the views are incredible! Just wish the would upgrade the sleeping conditions- it is a very quiet area, not a lot of restaurants - so plan accordingly, also bus service is ok as long as you leave the hotel before 9am. After that forget it! I recommend renting a scooter or having a driver if you plan to stay more than two or three nights....

The hotel is great. Great room, and most of all, excellent staff service. Unbeatable sea view. There is only one problem and that is location. Everything you may need is kilometers away, from a bar for a cup of coffee to any kind of shop. And that means kilometers of high traffic corniche. Quite dangerous and stressful.

Fantastic service with really friendly staff.The hotel has great views and is quite quirky.Transport is easy using the local Sita bus .it is a 10 minute walk to the village but the roads are very busy.The Amalfi Coast has stunning scenery

The hotel is centrally located in the Amalfi Coast - perfect because you can go in either direction easily. The views are sensational. Huge and varied breakfast. The staff - wow. So great and helpful. Loves them. So sweet. There are a lot of stairs so be warned if you have mobility issues. There are all kinds of restaurants and markets and ATM’s nearby. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel but I suggest you let them call a special bus for you. The public bus was extremely crowded. I had to curl up in a fetal position behind two seats to make it on board. Otherwise you wait a long time for the next one. I started hiking everywhere instead. And it isn’t even the busy season yet. Anyone loved the hotel so much. The views make up for any deficiencies. The staff are exceptionally great. I’ll be back.

Beautiful view from our room. Not too touristy. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. A few close stores but a good local grocery market is a 15 minute walk. A couple of beach options that are nice. Highly recommended for a relaxed time.

Quiet relaxing hotel with great staff

Brilliant accommodating staff, amazingly stunning location. The access to the sea is quite unique and the sea is gorgeous. Near le grotto and great restaurants working walking distance. Breakfast caters for all. Staff can't do enough. We had a 4- person room which was more like a suite with the most amazing views from every window especially the shower ! Would return.
Thank you to all the staff from reception to cleaning/gardening.

220 Steps to private \"beach\" !

This hotel was very disappointing. In no part of the description did it detail the fact that there were 220 steep cliff side steps to the \"beach\". One of our party had health issues and was unable to make this \"walk\". We booked for two nights but only stayed one. Very unhappy about leaving this important detail from description and photo gallery. Deceptive advertising.

Great Place, Bad Luck

Well we went into Sorrento and the hotel was 8 miles from the train station (as a crow flies) It was a 50 minute cab ride that cost 170 euros this of course was my fault. Then the 1st night the air conditioner broke so we had to sleep in another room, and return to our room the next morning. The staff fixed it and was helpful and concerned about the problem. The place was amazing the breakfast and cappuccinos were great. The location and the view where also great. Im 6'3 and I hit my head on doorways and hallways, the stairs where steep and narrow and plenty, it was on the Amalfi coast so go figure. Walking to great restaurants and one of the coolest dance clubs I've ever been in.

Easy to get to via SITA bus with bus stop right outside. Some rooms are in separate outbuildings. rooms very clean and excellent sea views, outside furniture. Hot tub perfect for relaxation. Lots of steps to access different levels, sunbed area and steps to the sea- so not suitable for those with mobility issues and no lift access- i.e. families may struggle with buggies etc. Friendly staff, willing to help with everything. Excellent range of breakfast choices. No restaurant on site, however, direct access access to Costa Diva restaurant next door (highly recommend) and the staff will also transport you to their sister hotel/restaurant further down the amalfi coast- short 5min drive. Good base for touring amalfi coast- buses stop outside- but may not always stop if full. Close harbour/restaurants via cliff walk where you can take boat trips to Capri. Boat trips to amalfi/capri also obtainable from Positano. Stayed in October and still busy for this time of year. Could probably get very busy in Summer time. would recommend for relaxation while touring amalfi coast.

I don't think there is a way to describe how Great this stay was. The staff, owner, room, view, breakfast, atmosphere, location...and the list goes on...they were all AMAZING!! If you are planning to stay in Praiano, this is the place to go!

Make a Splash in Praiano!!

Torre Saracena is centrally located in Praiano. It's an easy walk to the marina beach, Africana famous club and Costa Diva (best restaurant in Praiano) as well as located on the bus line to Praiano, Positano, Sorrento and Amalfi. The swimming area at the hotel is incredible and there are beautiful views and a friendly staff. However, the hotel is in a bit of disrepair and undergoing renovations to the facade, there are also several different buildings so not all rooms are as large as those pictured, but it is beautiful and definitely a great deal.

A Week in paradise!

My wife and I stayed for 7 nights and had a great time. The views from our room were stunning and we had a nice balcony.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly which definitely enhanced our experience.

Only thing we didn't like was the bed was bit hard. And having to walk 220 steps down to the water was annoying. But the rooms were very clean and the hotel was easy to find on the main drag.

Not much happening in the town of Praiano but it is a good stepping stone for day trips.

Breakfast had a wide variety of items but almost all carbs and sugar.

Wound definitely recommend this place especially if you want to save a few $$.

Hotel has a lot of stairs and no elevator.could use some renovating, like new room doors! We felt we were \" in the hallway\", hearing everyone going by and light shining through door. Fan helped. Very friendly staff and beautiful view!

Amazing view, good location and friendly staff

The room is clean and all around the hotel you get the amazing view of the deep blue sea. It is close proximity to several great restuarant if you just want to relax and chill out within Praiano. It is 5 mins walk away from the beautiful Marina Di Praiano beach with many restuarants bu the beach. Also, ferry tour to Capri. The restuarant next door to the hotel, Costa Diva Restaurant serve amazing seafood and tiramisu. The hotel and the restaurant belongs to the same family. You get a family and comforting vibes staying in the hotel. There are regular buses that takes you into Amalfi coast, Sorrento, Ravello etc. It is more convenient and hassle free than driving due to limited parking space within these area. The hotel is easy to find and has several parking spaces if you are planning on driving to the hotel.

Lovely quiet hotel away from all the tourists

The hotel was lovely and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The terrace was a lovely spot to enjoy a drink and there was a lovely private spot where you could jump into the ocean and enjoy the sun. The bus to Amalfi or Positano stops right outside the hotel which is very convenient. Only annoying thing was the wifi which you had to continuously sign into. Would stay here again.
