The view from our room was great. The overall rating of the hotel should be 3 star. The bed was really dated - the mattress seemed old in style - no cushion - due to the lack of comfort and the pillows were flimsy. We paid for the room with the view and you’re really just paying for the view. You don’t have a legit balcony..it’s a walk way and it’s shared. The style needs an a design uplift into 2025 from the 90s. The hotel offers massages (buy the bar) but they don’t offer robes and slippers in the rooms. Again another reason why I’d give it a 3 star.

Overall the hotel ratings in the Amalfi area seemed really skewed and it’s hard to tell what you’ll get.

Had the best experience since even before we got to the hotel. Staff was very accommodating to getting us picked up and brought to hotel, transportation to Positano was so smooth and a breeze. The food was magnificent, check out their restaurant. So good! the room was very clean and elegant. I would 100% recommend this to anyone and I would stay here again

Views were very nice especially from the Francino restaurant. Beach nearby was very rocky and we decided not to swim there.
Breakfast and setting good, however, get to breakfast very early as they ran out of many items and did not replace them even when asked. Nice hotel however, probably would not be staying here again. No shuttle service. Rooms and bathrooms very very small. Travel light as no room for large suitcases in room. However, not a place we will return to in the future if we decide to come back to the amalfi coast.

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in! Worth every penny during our honeymoon. The staff was attentive and the rooms were spacious and clean. Would definitely recommend to honeymooners. The pool and location were perfect for wanting to either relax at the hotel or venture off down the Amalfi coast. We hope to return in the future!

You can stop searching and just book this hotel

We took a chance and just went with this hotel because of the reviews, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. The location is great, walking distance from restaurants and bars, and the water taxis are right downstairs to take you to Amalfi town and Positano with just a 30-40 minute boat ride. We shared a boat to Capri for the day and it all worked out perfectly. Great hotel, breathtaking views, excellent service, food and ambiance. We stayed a week and didn’t want to leave ever again. They have car parking, which is rare and a big plus all along the Amalfi Coast. You cannot go wrong staying in Praiano, especially at Hotel Onda Verde

A very pleasant stay, ideal for rest & relaxation. The staff are very friendly & the outdoor facilities are excellent. The room cleanliness was excellent & the balcony was an excellent addition. The TV in the room picture was not working but did not really matter to me. The restaurant is ok, I think the food is overpriced for what it is but that’s the Amalfi coast wherever you go. Overall I enjoyed my few days here.

We spent the last 6 nights of our honeymoon here and can honestly say we will be back. We were so happy with the location and even though you were away from the hustle and bustle of positano and amalfi you were close enough to get to it. There were constant water taxis at your disposal and the hotel helps with your transportation. The beach and pool were also a plus given how hot the summers get they were also right there for you. Praiano also has many amazing restaurants within reach that we loved. The hotel rooms were so nice and had balconies overlooking the water and the staff were always so amazing. They even gave us a little going away gift at the end of our stay. 10/10 would recommend this spot.

Magical Praiano Hotel

Feels like a hidden gem on the coast. Tucked away into the cliff, this hotel is beautiful. Small and boutique, but everything you’d need. The pool and lounge area is gorgeous. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and the on-site restaurant for dinner is one of the best in the area. The hotel location is great too. 3 min walk down to the beach/marina (where you catch water taxis to Positano, Amalfi etc), restaurants etc. The hotel also was great at helping coordinate private transfer to and from Naples. Everything felt seamless and easy so all we had to do was enjoy our vacation. Stay here. You won’t regret it.

Great service, beautiful hotel

Hotel Onda Verde was lovely and I wish we had stayed there longer! Tucked into the coastal cliffs in a small marina area of Praiano, the hotel had nice rooms, beautiful views, and luxurious amenities. The pool area was especially nice, even though it was small - we had a great time hanging out there all afternoon! The hotel restaurant La Franchino was also amazing, definitely eat there!

My boyfriend and I had the absolute BEST stay! The location is perfect- it has a pool and several different beach spots to choose from. One is right under the hotel, the other 2 are less than a 5 minute walk along the ocean. Amazing restaurant options also. The pool was also amazing as well as the lounge area. There were several different lounge areas to choose from. There is a fun bar and restaurant called Il Pirata directly below the hotel. It is a 5-10 minute drive to Praiano, and maybe 15 minute drive to Positano. We went to Positano for lunch and left immediately because it was wayyyy too crowded.

Staff was friendly, attentive, helpful, and fun. Absolute perfect stay!

Wonderful short break

We absolutely loved Onda Verde, a perfect little boutique hotel. Fantastic location with uninterrupted views of the sea from our room, exactly what we wanted. We went specifically for the Franchino restuarant where there are tables outdoors as you can see in their photos..only small issue was that the seal in bathroom shower door was twisted so water leaked heavily onto the floor, they tried to resolve but with no luck. I took photos and showed video and not much support from Manager on this, a little frustrating but we were unlucky here i guess but we stayed only for 2 nights so was OK.

Cons: No umbrella for the balcony so we couldn’t really sit out there too much, terrible shower and uncomfortable bed (by US standards). The room was definitely not a 4 star hotel, what a joke. Road next to hotel has no sidewalk whatsoever so you have to take a taxi or a cab. Fernanda at the front desk booked our excursions seamlessly but something about her feels dis-genuine. Strangely pathetic pool that is not heated so didn’t use.

A gem of a place in a stunning location

A real gem of a place - good pool to cool off, nice clean room with spacious bathroom, Great breakfast with stunning views, but what really nails it is it’s location; an easy walk down to the charming marina where you can easily get a water taxi to Positano (€50 rtn) or Amalfi (€70 rtn) which are great to visit but arguably not as nice to stay unless you fancy the crowds. Onda Verde was the perfect bolt hole to base from. Good restaurant too, and if you’re staying for a few days, the excellent il Pirata is located just below. Can’t recommend this place enough

The Hotel Onda Verde was lights-out amazing. The pictures of this place do not do it justice; it is simply a superb hotel. Stunning views from almost every location within the hotel. Rooms are just the right size and well stocked. Great comfy beds, and excellent bathrooms. Service was always impeccable from the family that runs the hotel. incredibly helpful in arranging excursions, to water taxi's, to simply getting you through your time in Italy. They were all just awesome. Don't let the \"small\" family hotel thing scare you off. This family runs an excellent operation from top to bottom. Even the morning breakfast is outstanding! Honestly, one of the best parts of my stay was my wife and I sitting and having breakfast for hours, everything from freshly squizzed orange juice (the juice machine is amazing) to bacon and eggs, to all the requisite Italian delicacies, it was simply perfect. Read through over 400 reviews like I did, or just trust me and take the plunge. This Hotel is outstanding. Great value and all around awesome. My wife and I will be back next year. And the year after that with the kids!

Fantastic location between Amalfi and Positano. A prime spot since there is direct access to boat trips for Capri and to the Path of the Gods. Bus stop in front of the hotel for rides to Amalfi coast towns. Parking on the hotel premises is very limited, but the hotel staff is efficient at handling the situation. Just give them the car keys. Superb restaurant (Franchino) is the best meal in town. Family owned and very professional. Our thanks for Francesco and Miro for a magical staying. Ideal for couples as a romantic getaway

Hotel is absolutely beautiful from the views, to the rooms decor and the sun decks and pool area. Restaurant/bar staff was amazing, always smiling and always willing to help. The location was favorable with easy access by water taxi. A few restaurants within proximity of the hotel and Africana Famous Night club literally minutes away on foot. Only complaint we had was the lack of communication between the front desk staff. They would go on breaks and the other staff member was not left with any sort of notes that would allow them to continue to assist you. Don’t ask for the hotel to call a taxi, driver doesn’t use a meter and charges €20 each way to go to the small town of Praiano which front desk will tell you is a 25 min walk but is more like 10 mins. Local bus is a joke during season, if you aren’t Italian good luck getting on. There is also no atm on property or anywhere near by so bring your euros. Other thing that we were told several times was that you don’t need an appointment or reservation. That is not the case. Insist they call... restaurant, salon, or club. You need a reservation. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, we found one front desk clerk in particular to be the cause of most of our disappointments, but how can you be upset on the Amalfi Coast with that view?? It’s just too beautiful. Would recommend the hotel and would go back. Price was great for everything that was to offer. FYI. Elevator doesn’t work after 2am. We were not informed of that. Upseting.

Hotel is about 25 minutes drive from positano, just close enough but still get away from majour tourists. As soon as you walk in hotel you get the amazing views on the ocean. The Hotel Onda Verde was excellent in every way. Our room was lovely, comfortable with a great view and the sound of the sea. The restaurant was fabulous: amazing choice at breakfast, lovely dinners (and very reasonably priced), incredibly nice staff and a great view. Spectacular Views in a Charming Setting

Onda Verde is truly a gem. The room we had was large and comfortable. The breakfast was the most delicious I have ever had! Their restaurant is fabulous for both lunch and dinner. Although not in town, it is in walking distance to Praiano and and an easy bus ride to both Amalfi and Positano. The only issue with this hotel might be the stairs. If your have any difficulty with them, request a room easy access.

Great hotel with scenic views. It's close to the beach and several restaurants, including one on the property that has amazing food. This is a great place to stay if you want to get away from the busy atmosphere of Positano and other areas along the coast, but still want incredible views.

There were only a few small cons, mainly that the location makes it tough to access other areas without

Indeed the best

Hotel staff Fernanda & Franchesco are the best Front Desk personnel we have ever encountered by far, and we travel a lot. They are warm, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The hotel is very beautiful and exceeded all expectations. Breakfast spread is great with great selections. We will definitely come back to this hotel next time we’re in this part of Italy.

Beautiful Hotel on the Coast

Staying with Hotel Onda Verde was one of my best hotel experiences to date. After seeing the coast I am certain this must be one of the best hotels in the area. The rooms are beautiful and clean, and the staff are extremely kind, friendly, informative, and helpful. Beyond these essentials, the view is spectacular with very simple beach access and near by restaurants that are top notch. I would absolutely recommend Hotel Onda Verde to friends and family looking to stay in the area. I would like to thank Hotel Onda Verde for an amazing experience.

Perfect for our honeymoon!

We stayed 6 nights at Hotel Onda Verde for our honeymoon and it was the perfect choice! The hotel is in a great location with beautiful views that overlook the sea (we spent many early mornings and late evenings relaxing on our private balcony!). It was also more quiet than staying in one of the busier towns but still easily accessible to Positano and Amalfi by the SITA bus. I cannot say enough good things about the staff - they are the most helpful people I have ever met! We planned many activities throughout the coast and had no idea how to get to any of them until the staff offered their assistance. We purchased SITA tickets through the front desk as well as booked the Capri boat trip from Praiano which was one of our trip highlights. Make sure you eat at the hotel's restaurant, Franchino - it is the best food we had! We were greeted with champagne and I had the best citrus shrimp risotto of my life. Honda Onda Verde is truly a hidden treasure and we will definitely be staying there again on our next trip to the Amalfi Coast!

Italy - Amalfi visit

Our first trip to Amalfi and Italy overall was amazing. The hotel property sits on the side of a mountain with great views. The room was clean and decorated nicely with Italian tile. The balcony overlooked the water and sunrise too. If you’re from the US, you’ll likely be awake for the sunrise the first couple of days. Staff is very helpful guiding guests on day trips to the various points of interest along the coast. The restaurant was first class. The breakfast is fantastic - an array of delicious choices. There isn’t a separate bar but you can always have a glass of wine and grab a seat and stare out at the water. Dinner is also wonderful with good food and excellent service. Be prepared to do a lot of walking up and down elevations. Overall, highly recommended.

We loved our stay at this beautiful hotel! The rooms are extremely clean and the Sea views from our room were amazing. The front desk staff, especially Fernanda, was so helpful, nice, and knowledgable about the area. The location was perfect, right by Praia Beach, so all you had to do was walk down some steps and you are at the beach where you can be picked up for boat excursions. Breakfast buffet was wonderful. Highly reccommend

AMAZING in every way!

Everything about our experience at Hotel Onde Verde was exceptional in every way. The location is fantastic - a short walk to the beach and water taxis -and the most amazing view from our spacious balcony. Watching the sun and moon rise every day was breathtaking. Staff is incredible. Lots of hugs goodbye. Close access to everything, without crowds and lots of tourists. The food in the restaurant was beyond delicious. We ate there every night except for one evening. Decided to go to a local restaurant that was not nearly as good - and the service was really lacking compared to Onde Verde staff. The complimentary breakfasts were delicious AND beautiful. We hope to go back to the Amalfi Coast soon and often. And we will always stay at Hotel Onde Verde. We found the perfect spot for us.

Abundant & Beautiful Views

This is a hidden gem of a hotel located cliff side just outside of Priano. I loved being close to the water and the convenience of the nearby dock made sightseeing a breeze by water taxi. The rooms are spacious and well furnished, the views are magnificent from almost anywhere in the hotel, the restaurant was charming and the breakfast was varied and quite good. From the infinity pool to all of the small seating areas to gaze out at the sea, it was a wonderful place to vacation. The staff at the desk and in the restaurant aimed to please and were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel situated conveniently between Amalfi and Positano if you want a laid back, quiet, peaceful place to stay.

Amazing hotel, but slightly disappointed

This was the second place we stayed at while on the Amalfi coast. The hotel is quite amazing built into the cliff with great views. It is in a good location, had a nice pool and is right by the beach and transportation (both water taxi and bus). The rooms are really nice, if a bit on the small side. The breakfasts are spectacular. The Hotel is great and overall our stay would have been wonderful, however we were slightly disappointed as the desk staff weren’t always as friendly as they could have been (perhaps due to tourist fatigue so late in the season, but for the price one expects more). It felt like the “rules” were more important than the guests.

Beautiful 'boutique' hotel with stunning views

We stayed here for our honeymoon (24.08.18 to 31.08.17) and absolutely loved it.

The setting is stunning with the hotel built into the side of a cliff and overlooking a small harbour, with sweeping views of the Med.

The hotel is clean and finished to a high standard. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Our room had a private balcony shared with another room and it was a great place to sunbathe and relax, we rarely saw people from the other room so it was like we had it to ourselves.

The room was comfortable and clean, if not particularly large. The bathroom didn't have a bath, but we didn't miss it. Air con worked a treat in the hot weather (we had to turn it up at one stage 'cos we were too cold!)

The pool was great, with bubble jets and a lovely view.

Breakfast was good, with a large selection of foods to try. We only had dinner in the restaurant once, but it was top notch.

Overall, it was just what we wanted for a honeymoon. Super relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, stunning views, quiet hotel. Perfect. Bellissimo.

We only stayed at the Onda Verde for one night (our last night in Italy) but my god, what a night it was. This place is luxurious and utterly beautiful. The view from our terrace was magnificent.
The hotel itself is a feat of engineering, being built into the cliffs of the Amalfi Coastline. There is an outside swimming pool (with incredible views of its own), a Michelin starred restaurant which also does the free breakfast in the morning (by far the best breakfast I have ever eaten), satellite TV (Sky, to be precise, which we didn't even use) and massage options (though pricey).
The staff were at our service if we ever needed them and they were extremely helpful in giving us recommendations about how we toured the coastline. Even as we checked out, the chap on reception rang a friend in the know to ensure the road we were planning to take was clear as the day before it had been closed due to wildfires! True customer service.
The room was gorgeous, the bed luxurious, the bathroom well designed and the shower water tight (the only one I found in seven hotels in Italy!).
Parking is 20 EUR a night and was be reserved but when you see how limited the parking is around the entire coastline, this becomes a lot more understandable.
But the view. That is what clinched it for me. The best hotel I have ever stayed in.
