This is a modern facility in San Jose, right near the beautiful park. The staff was very helpful and in particular, Luis, one of the Bell Hops,was our culinary advisor. Pointing out.Social as a nearby walkable restaurant serving good Costa Rican food.
The only downside I saw was that in the 21st-century, not having easy access to charging ports near the bedside, a so-called modern hotel like this, fell short.

Great location in front of the park and easy walking to museums and shopping.
Staff everywhere were wonderful and quick and responsive, except in the bar in the evening. The bar only had one server, who was very social, so we had to chase them for service and it was slow.
Rooms are being renovated, but the most important areas were addressed - we had a lovely room overlooking the city with big windows. Comfy clean bed, hot water (which is a premium in Costa Rica as Tico's don't appreciate our northerners habit of taking hot showers). A relaxing, great stay overall.

The room smelled. The bathroom could be cleaned better. A hair was left on the soap dish. It needs better ventilation because it looks like mold is growing between the tiles. And the bathtub mat should be replaced, old and dirty looking. Remember to have a copy that states you get free breakfast. We had to prove it. On the positive side the lobby is beautiful and the valet and tour guide were helpful. The downtown location is walkable.

Hotel is very old and tired. The A/C is extremely loud but that did help to dull some of the other sounds of this old hotel (banging doors, other guests).
No hairdryers in the room (it took 2 hours to get one after chasing twice). The staff are friendly though and the breakfast was good.

It was great at first but they say online that can be booked with hot tub and there's no hot tubs and also I paid for breakfast with my friend and then we go to go eat and the ladies started telling us we have to pay money for coffee and for food we told them we already paid they gave us a hard time and to be real

Everything, this was not a five star star hotel. More like 1 star. Dirty not renovated in maybe 20 years and expensive looking at what you got. Like a bad bed and breakfast. Then they said the parking was free and tried to charge us for valet parking. Terrible.

The location is great. Some of the employees are very helpful and friendly. The receptionist who works in the morning was very helpful and very pleasant. The guy who works in the bar was very friendly and helpful. The same goes to the bellman working in the morning.

Great service - rooms need humidity control

I stayed 2 nights at the Delta Aurola with my family. The staff and their client service approach were remarkable.

The Delta Aurola loses points in terms of cleanliness and comfort. As soon as we stepped out of the elevator, there was a strong smell of damp and humidity. The rooms and halls have carpets, which do not help. We had to ask for a room change, and still, we felt like we were covered in humid sheets despite the AC and temperature control.

Also, the place needs renovations as the installations
were outdated, and some were mouldy.

The buffet was good.

Again, the service was friendly, very helpful and always with a smile.

The location was ideal for getting around San José. Shopping and Cultural aspects were all within walking distance. The area felt safe, and you could easily traverse at night. The hotel dining left a lot to be desired, and more menu options or daily adjustments to the menu would be an asset.

They are doing renovations in the whole building. We walked into our room and it smelled musty and everything was damp. We sat on the bed and felt like the sheets were wet. The room was extremely humid and the AC didn't work. We tried to call to the front desk and the phone didn't work. The food and drinks at the bar were not great. We waited an hour for pizza and boneless wings. We stayed at two other much less expensive places on our trip that was much better in all ways. We expected at least that from a Marriot.

This was a great hotel in the middle of everything in San Jose. The rooms were clean, although the one we stayed in did have a musty smell. The breakfast was great. The staff was top notch. Parking was easy. The area around the hotel was good. This is the middle of a huge city, so there are always big city issues. We would stay at this hotel again.

We had a wonderful room on the 16 th floor with a gorgeous view all over san jose. Beds were super comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. It is right across the street from a pretty little park and very easy walking distance to the major museums we visited. We also walked to the interesting central market, where we bought ourselves flowers for our room . The sidewalks are very uneven in san jose and we never tried walking at night , but had dinner at the hotel.
The breakfast that came with the room was a really fabulous buffet that had everything one could want, hot and cold. Dinners at the hotel were generously sized so by the second night we knew how to order better. We didn’t try the pool but it looked inviting if a bit cool.
I definitely would stay at this hotel again.

Hotel is very old. Rooms are set to be remodeled next year and boy do they need it. Old carpet, smells of mold. Breakfast was so so, didn’t have enough dishes and fruit was sad. Lobby was nice and staff was friendly. We were supposed to stay 5 nights but checked out after one and went elsewhere. Not a great part of town either.

Two days here no hot water and no competition for the inconvenience. No notification of any repairs. After three cold showers I have to say my patience has run out. I will post my bad experience to my 50000 subscribers. This is the first bad review I will sadly be doing…. Just a bad experience over all and I had to endure the cold shoulder not to stink like this hotel apparently intended for me.

Absolutely gorgeous property. Incredibly kind and helpful staff (can’t sing enough praises). The room could have been cleaner and had better upkeep. The phone was broken and had an audible and persistent dial tone - I had to unplug it to sleep. Breakfast service was a bit short, I wish they served until at least 10:30 or 11:00 am. The location is prime - a bit of a trek from the airport, but a lively area with lots to do. Overall a great experience.

In front there is a nice small park area with a mini mart slash bakery right next to it. All good restaurants close early for food. Unless you are using Uber Eats it’s hard to find a decent place after 10pm

Decent Place But Has Issues.

No hotel is perfect, but some things need to be correct. Staff was competent and friendly except for the restaurant breakfast staff in the morning (dinner time were good). Most of the time just standing around talking to each other not paying attention to the fact that there are No coffee cups available while they are standing in front of where the coffee cups should be, trays for the buffet without food, No bread (0) available while the person in charge walks right past it and takes no action. I sent laundry to be cleaned and received pieces unironed, some pieces burnt when ironed. After complaints it was done again and done right. One of the three elevators was broken almost every day. Would be fixed in the morning and by afternoon, stopped on the 8th floor again. On the other hand the Reception, Bellboy and Security staff were helpful and nice. Hotel is OK but it is an older property, I believe the \"Sleep Inn\" about 200 yards away offers nicer rooms, better security enclosure and friendlier more competent staff for breakfast. Would I stay here again ? Yes, but the SLEEP INN would be my First Choice.
