The beach villa is nice. Close to a small beach. You can walk to any place from the room, but the facility sends you a buggy to pick you up and drop you anywhere you like.
The room is clean, the staff is super friendly at all times.
Balcony faces the beach but there is some green and some trees in between. Still nice private room.

A pleasant and beautiful stay

Food was amazing, but the same food every day, except for one BBQ day.
The room was excellent with a spectacular view of the sea and birds chirping.
There was no problem with the internet, but there were times when there was no signal.
Overall, I recommend everyone to stay, and the employees treat customers with the same level of class as the customers treat them.

Wonderful and good value too.

My only regret about booing this hotel was not booking for longer. This was a bolt on for us after a longer trip and everything about it was perfect. The water bungalow was spacious and comfortable. The main buffet restaurant was hugely varied, catering for vegetarians and vegans well, with everything labelled for all dietary requirements. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and happy! We booked two snorkel trips, one with sharks and a free one to the house reef. Both were excellent. The speedboat transfer was efficient and the Holiday Inn desk was easy to find at Male airport. Everything was priced in us$ but by the time service charge and green tax was added it equated roughly to gbp and drinks were a bit pricey - £6 for a Fanta £17 for a cocktail. However they were probably the best Pina colada’s I’ve ever had so worth it! You could walk the perimeter of the island in about 15 minutes but they had a good buggy service which we didn’t bother with as walking enabled us to appreciate the birds, iguanas and hermit crabs that we saw all the time. There were a couple of beaches which were stunning. The pool was huge with varying areas and depths. There was entertainment two of the three nights we stayed which we enjoyed but we also loved watching the fish or the stars from the hammock on our balcony. Some elements of the resort are a little tired but we felt that was such a triviality compared with how wonderful everything else was. We loved every minute.

Great hotel, from the warm welcome to last farewell everything was smooth and highly enjoyable. We loved the fact the whole island is set in lush greenery and i feels very private despite full occupancy. Staff is extremely friendly and helpfull. We stayed on half board basis and there was always something to choose from.
I am sure there are better resorts for snorkeling but if you you are patient you find some good marine life as well (we did snorkel on the surf beach behind the reception) which we later discovered we were not supposed to do but it was the best.
One thing I’d consider a downside is the restrictions that may feel ovewhelming, like the kids club that only allows playstation for kids only between noon and 2pm, swimming pool opened only till 6pm and the use or only certain beaches for snorkeling.

The food was good and rooms nice and clean (if you got what you expected), however the resort is not what it is being advertised as, this more of a super expencive Hotel and not a reasonable Resort (under staffed, 1 pool not 2, No \"waterslide\" and so on...) No issues paying for what we get, but not getting what you payed for is so disappointing. Kinda false advertising.
I suggest asking for a map prior to booking.

First time at Maldives and we loved it. The ocean is magical. The staff (exept the sport center) was unique with kindness and care. Only would suggest some refurbishment on any plain wood as the railing or floor ect. . But overall we completely recharged ourself and felt very happy to be there.

Great holiday in Maldives. We were well taken care of by the staff and would like to thank all of them, especially Rateesh (Supervisor), Boopathy and Gothoo who did everything to make our stay a memorable one and enjoyable one.
Breakfast - lots of choice even if vegetarian, Asian/European.
The snorkeling is amazing and there is a chance to see lots of sea life including stingrays!

The staff are exceptionally kind and helpful. The resort has lovely beaches and adequate water activities to keep you entertained. The snorkeling was amazing! The prices for food and drinks should just be inclusive of taxes and service charges rather than the ++ format they use. All deck areas should be thoroughly cleaned as there were a few roaches and lots of ants crawling around in the evenings. The location in the south atoll is also good. They are very well equipped for boat safety.

Beautiful property, all that one can ask for - activities, location, food options, gorgeous rooms. We enjoyed our 3 day stay with family and it made for a memorable trip. We had one issue however, one of our rooms had a lot of termites crawling all over after a rain shower hit the island. The reception guys informed us that this happens sometimes, although I found it unacceptable for a five star resort room to have termites! In all fairness, they management readily offered a room change and made it happen promptly as well. Thankfully the new room had no termites (or the treatment was done before we moved in).

This is a perfect property for families with toddlers or young children. The children's play area is a blessing for all parents who are wondering how to keep their little ones engaged. I would definitely recommend it.

One area of improvement would be the lack of customer services that some of the staff seem to have. I don't think it is very obvious, but some staff can use some upskilling.

PS: If they could get bicycles for the guests to use on the island that would be magic.

Felt welcome the moment I landed, warmly received by hotel staff, escorted to ferry terminal, ferry service was great, then a team was there to welcome us at Kandooma Jetty, and a buggy ride to reception, where an individualised welcome package was ready. Fuss free check in, escorted to room by buggy and luggage already in room with air condition on. Throughout the stay, staff were extremely friendly, including those at reception, dining restaurants, water sports centre and of course, the security guards. Even the daily cleaning service was top-notch, they are able to fix the room by the time we come back from breakfast which was amazing! The scenery was awesome, over water villa excellent, with fishes, sting rays and sharks at the doorstep. Snorkelling trip to turtle point was magnificent, the only pity was there were not enough people to form a group for whale shark snorkelling which my wife was so looking forward to. Great views of sunrise/sunset. Truly worth every single cent. One of the best overseas experience I have had.

We had an amazing time at Holiday Inn Kandooma. The island itself is very beautiful with crystal blue water and white sand. There is a nice path across the island suitable for jogging or walking around.
The room and the facilities were all better than we had expected and everything felt very clean and tidy. The breakfast buffet had everything we could ask for and more. The staff is very friendly and service minded and are always there to help.
We recommend starting your day with a yoga session with Simone. It's a great way to start your day and it takes place with the most beautiful view.
If you are on a budget, we would not recommend you to go here, however. Prices are a bit high but you obviously get what you pay for.

The resort is quite close to Main Island and takes 45 min for speed boat to reach the resort. The resort is clean and staff are very very friendly.We stay at overwater villa with big room and great amenities. The place is very secure with guard stationed on the entry. The resort is a good place for adults and children. The price of dinner is expensive compared with restaurants in Male. But we understand that extra cost for all items are brought to the resort by boat. I recommend this resort for Maldives experience.

Maldives are amazing! Everything we had hoped it would be! The resort was lovely and our accommodations were fantastic! The staff was so friendly and helpful. The variety of activities were nice (one of the few spots you can surf) and varied. We also got an opportunity to try the spa which was fantastic. One thing though, which we knew in advance about staying anywhere in the Maldives, is that they get you on food and drinks. It's incredibly expensive. We recommend going ahead and doing the full premium all inclusive meal plan here. It includes all the food and drinks you can eat at any restaurant on the island, a 60 minute massage per person and discounts on excursions. Also includes room service and taking anything you want out of your minibar each day (including sunscreen, etc)

The hotel and the sorroundings are beautiful, the rooms/villas are very nice and comfortable altough we unfortunatly had problems with ants in our room.

The level of service is very shifting we had great service and extremly poor service. Upon arrival we realized that they had not put in an extra bed in our room, when we went down to reception to ask them to put it in they claimed that there was not a extra bed in the \"agreement\" dispite our reservation clearly stating that we were 3 adults in 1room (they somehow expected us to all 3 sleep in a kingsize bed dispite the fact that we paid the rate for 3ppl) it took a bit of arguing but finally they agreed to put it in.

Overall a good stay in a beautiful hotel but it could have been great had it not been for the lacking service!

Everything about here is beautiful. The only problem I have with them is the cost of food and drinks there: pretty high. I stayed at 3 different resorts during my time at Maldives and this was where we paid the highest, despite staying 3 days.

If you desire great service and nice facilities but don't bother much about paying much for meals, then this is the place to go. The people there are very friendly, including our guide (Valentino) and a local called Ibrahim. Great place to be at. Oh, they have a really nice pool too and the rooms are great.

This property is about 32 kms by a speed boat from Male airport. Roundtrip costs close to $250 per person (shared transfer). The location is extremely beautiful, with this hotel being built on an exclusive island about 1.5-2 km in diameter. Breakfast at the Kandooma cafe was an excellent experience - do take the breakfast package as a minimum. The rooms are in excellent shape, with plenty of lazing/lounging spaces outside the rooms and around the property.

Hotel had excellent infrastructure, good facilities, restaurants and several beaches, worthy of a higher star rating. Close to the best dive sites in Maldives (if you Scuba Dive). Service however was poor, when compared with much cheaper accommodation available elsewhere in the Maldives. Ground staff not well trained and often made mistakes in booking excursions and giving general info which can be frustrating. Managers had to often intervene in doing service recovery (which to their credit was done well and promptly). However it is unrealistic to keep interactions with the supervisory level all the time. Resort was no where near full capacity but staff seem overwhelmed and unable (or possibly unwilling) to react to requests and inquiries. Would recommend the hotel for families, but not for those who desire a more personal touch and exclusivity. For Divers, they run a decent operation, with (again) good facilities and strict, safe policies. However they seem short of Dive Masters to manage the amount of divers on a normal day. Guests have to be fairly independent, as DMs are pre-occupied with the young and new divers in the group.

After paying for hotel which came with breakfast plan everything else you are going to pay 4 times the total cost of items. From minibar to regular lunch items are insanely overpriced!!! They need to upgrade their 24 eating place with better food items besides just western dishes.

A Beautiful Santuary

Hotels.com classified anyone below 17 years old as child. Thus when booking was placed, there was no auto additional charges reflected. We realized that there was an additional fee for child above 11 years old when we sought to clarify with Hotels.com on the speed boat transfer charges. Another email was sent to Hotels.com on the child fee but till to date after our trip, no one from Hotels.com neither call us nor reply to our email. Owing to this, we had to deal directly with the hotel. The Reservation Manager, Pritam, was swift in responding to our email. We were not allowed to cancel the booking as informed by Pritam. To ease the situation, we were offered a discount rate for our child. The journey from Male Airport to the hotel by speed boat was approx. 45 mins. The moment, we arrived at the hotel, we were captivated by the beautiful surrounding. Check In was swift. Once settled in our room, It was a total R & R for us. We took advantage of the free snorkeling trip and also the class for snorkeling lesson for the beginner.

So totally pleased with this good value for money resort

We really enjoyed our stay in Kandooma. This is our 10th resort in the Maldives (from mid range to high end) and this one was the best value for the money. spent. Lot of thought has been put here and there into small details which make a significant difference at the end of the day.

Good 4 star hotel but a few shortcomings

Well this hotel was fantastic in a lot of ways but bad in a few. The checkin was smooth. The restaurant staff and some front office staff are very courteous. The pizza restaurant staff aneez, shazeen were very amicable. Front office staff naji was fantastic. Housekeeping staff abu was great.

There is no house reef. so snorkelling is not fun. If you are on a snorkelling vacation this is not the hotel u wanna go to. The currents around the hotel are very strong. I was almost swept away. They do have a complimentary trip for snorkelling at 9.30 i never went. Too early!!!

Wonderful get-away for our honeymoon.

We had one of the modest \"hotel-room-style\" rooms on the far end of the island. Everything was great, the room was clean and comfortable, nice view of the waves crashing in on the beach from our back deck. The room amenities were pretty standard for this calibre of resort. The iPod docking station was convenient, free oranges every day and a juice-maker was a nice touch, and the room was spacious enough for just the two of us. The basic rooms are actually two rooms under one roof with a dividing wall. Our noisy neighbours were the type who enjoy slamming doors, drawers and cupboards at all hours of the day and night and we could hear everything through the thin walls. Quite annoying after a day or two but some people just can't be civilised. Still, it wasn't enough to ruin what was otherwise an excellent vacation.

Friendly Staff, Great Ambience and Great Comfort

I had a great stay at Kandooma for my personal trip just before last Christmas. Staff were very friendly and helpful from the very start when I mailed them to make arrangements for the speedboat transfer; that warmth and accommodation throughout my stay made it very pleasurable. The beach house in which I stayed for 3 nights was beyond my expectation; clean, well equipped and well-decorated for relaxation. The resort also had a great dive centre and amenties. Thank you very much for the great experience!

Excellent Stay

Everything about this hotel exuded luxury. There were no wants. The only thing could have been more variety in the food but they tried to provide this given the space they had to work with. The compulsory holiday dinners were expensive for what they were. The rest of our stay was incredible down to service and the hotel.

Amazing beautiful sea view, nice food

It's a joyful stay with my wife and my daughter, it's a perfect island for family vacation, kids club, fantastic swimming pool, free rental snorceling kits, kindly staffes. 40mins ferry is a little bit far, food is expensive, at least 30USD per dish.
