The staff at the Hotel Del Mare were super friendly and helpful. The free daily breakfast was great and well supplied with a big variety of items. The hotel was located right on the small boat harbor front and nice restaurants near by within a 5 minute walk. The location did require a 15 minute walk to shops and restaurants uphill in elevation due to the nature of the town of Sorrento. Most people we met were proficient in English. The area felt very safe.

This is one of the most pleasant hotels we've ever stayed in - convenient to a local fishing port and great seafood restaurants. The hotel staff provided exceptional service and the breakfast offered a wide selection of food in a unique environment. Highly recommended. We'll definitely return.

Great staff. Came with breakfast which was great. Nice lobby and lobby bar. Walkable to beach and great waterfront restaurants. Beach towels for entire stay were 2.50 euro. Be prepared for a lot of stairs to walk to town but it’s not far only about 1.5km max. Taxi to ferry was a bit pricy 30 euro but it’s not very easy to walk to ferry port. Great spot to stay and would recommend.

We arrived late and Tony was there to welcome us to the hotel. We stayed as a family of 4 mum dad kids 19 and 16 we should have got 2 rooms as it was a very small room but we made the best of the situation.it was very clean All of the staff were really helpful. Breakfast was good, the stone fruit was amazing like you just picked it from a tree. In the morning of our departure Tony arranged for us all to have a takeaway coffee. The property is very close to the marina with several restaurants with views, etc. The room was pretty small with the bath being very small. The shower would not fit a large man. The service at the desk and the breakfast were very good. We enjoyed our stay there but would have preferred a larger bath!!

Hotel Del Mare has a fantastic location, just steps away from the beach and surrounded by some incredible restaurants, making it ideal for a relaxing seaside getaway. The proximity to the ocean and dining options added so much convenience and enjoyment to our stay. However, I did find myself wishing for a water refill station on the property. It would have been a simple yet impactful addition, especially for guests spending their days on the beach and needing easy access to drinking water. Overall, a great spot but with room for a small yet meaningful improvement!

Hôtel bien situé près du petit port de pêche, et des restos, qui sont toutefois très chers comparé aux restos au centre historique de Sorento. Aussi prévoir marcher 10 minutes pour se rendre au centre historique et la marina pour les croisières vers Capri et Amalfie.
On nous a attribué une très petite chambre, confort minimal mais correct pour un séjour de quelques jours.
Un excellent buffet déjeuner avec beaucoup de choix.

Overall the room was fine & the included breakfast was good (there are a number of options to choose from). We received new towels every day & the front desk staff was friendly & helpful. The bay facing deck was also pleasant (the hotel itself does not face the bay). Our room was in the basement near the breakfast room so there was no cell signal (hotel WiFi worked fine).

We had never been to Sorrento before so we were a bit surprised to discover that any place you wanted to go (the dock & the towns shopping area) would involve a trek uphill. There is a bus but it has a limited schedule.

The hotel is in an ideal location within walking distance of the majority of Sorrento. It is also a 1min walk from the Borgo dei Pescatori which has incredible restaurants to try.
The room was a good size and very clean. The breakfast at the hotel is amazing with options for sweet or savory breakfast.
The staff were my favourite as they were all super kind and friendly. They also are always on hand to help and give recommendations.
I was really happy with my stay and will be recommending the hotel to anyone who travels to Sorrento!

We loved the hotel. The location is superb, plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, including the coffee, which I find sometimes lets a hotel down. The room was spacious and clean. But while it was generally very quiet, there was some noise from the plumbing in the adjoining room. The price for quietness, we were in the basement, is that there is absolutely no outlook, so the windows stayed closed with the blinds down for the whole trip. There also seems to be a problem with the supply of hot water, which was erratic to non existent. But overall we enjoyed our stay and would seriously consider returning the next time we are in Sorrento

This is beautiful property. I would strongly endorse it. My only concern is the number of unexpected surcharges that showed up upon check out. They are not unreasonable but they were unexpected. The hotel should do a better job of informing guest about surcharges before the guest accepts the service. Ie. surcharge for towels at the pool.

My family and I just had a 5 night stay at Hotel del Mare in October 2023. We can not say enough wonderful things about this hotel. The staff in all areas were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotless. The hotel breakfast was fresh and delicious. The surrounding area is full of shopping just a 10 minute walk away and only a 2 minute walk to the water where there is many delicious restaurants and bar. 10/10 recommended!!!

The staff of this property were very nice and friendly. The location was about a 20 minute walk to the marina where you catch the ferries and about a 10 minute walk to restaurants, so location was great. The cons of this place would be how small the room was! Pictures made the room look small but with luggage there wasn’t much space to turn around so it felt very cramped for 2 people. Breakfast selection was average but can’t complain. Another issue was that in the Expedia listing said there was a 24 hour airport shuttle, when I reached out months in advance to reverse a spot I was told it can be handled once I checked in but once I checked in I was told all private transfers need to be booked well ahead of 72 hours and the usual private transfer company was on vacation, so I had to figure out a way to get to the airport on my own which was very stressful.

Great Staff, Very Loud Hotel

The staff were excellent! Very kind and helpful. Nice location by the water, but showing a lot of signs of being worn down. And it was SO loud. All of the floors are tile so it’s like an echo chamber. We were woken up repeatedly by doors closing, suitcases banging, shoes on the stairs. The person across the hall had a cough and we could literally hear them all night. That’s an indication of the thin walls and volume of the echoes; when you can hear across the hall every time someone coughs or flushes their toilet. If any of the rooms turned on the shower near us it sounded like it was in our room with us. Would maybe stay again, but would also look around at other places too.

Hotel Del Mare - September 2023

Location was perfect - right on the bay next to several fun restaurants with easy access to the train station shuttle. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Originally had a room facing the hillside but were upgraded complimentary upon arrival to a water view which was lovely. Would absolutely stay here again!

This hotel is a great hotel right on the water. Very clean and modern. Breakfast had a variety of food. Perfect for walking into Sorrento or over to Marina Picolo. The only negative was the hard bed. It was not very comfortable at all.

Very nice spacious room. Bathroom had everything I need although the shower stall is very small. Bed was comfortable and the refrigerator was spacious. The room was quite and a 2-3 minute walk to beach and restaurants.

The staff was helpful and the night clerk/bartender was very good and friendly. Breakfast was excellent.

Easy to catch the bus from the beach as well. I would come back to this place.

Great little spot while in Sorrento! The walk to the main plaza is a bit intense if you're on the older side and not as fit. But overall great. Only feedback for the hotel would be to invest in white towels. They have blue towels that can't be washed with Clorox so all of our towels smelled like mildew after we used them. My family also stayed in another room and experienced the same thing with the towels. Hopefully the hotel changed to white towels to avoid the smell in the future

Sadly this hotel didn’t meet expectations. I say this because for £300 a night you can book the hotel around the corner with a pool and incredible sea view room was £250. There are images attached to show the disrepair. But also our room was next to the lift and it was incredibly noisy. They didn’t even have fruit juice behind the bar for our toddler.

We complained and were offered a room with a window that faced the sea but it still wasn’t worth it. The staff were helpful enough though. Real shame we had to upheave ourselves and change hotels at our expense.

Beautiful clean modern room. 2 minute walk to beach and waterfront restaurants. 15 min walk to Sorrento shopping and 10 min walk to port. Great local restaurants. Rooftop terrace beautiful spot for a nightcap. Breakfast was very good. Would go again.
