The view was spectacular, everything you wanted to wish for. It was very quiet and peaceful to sleep and relax during the day.
The hotel needs a lot of upgrade. Wish they had gym room.

Best thing is the location, with excellent views over Sorrento. Also the staff are very helpful and booked tours through them with pick up and drop off at Hotel, which made is so convenient. Rooms Ok, not large in a family room for 4, but worked out fine. Continental breakfast good, and nice view.

Reading reviews is highly recommended. In this case, I knew what to expect. The view is AMAZING! That's what you are paying for here. If you are expecting much any where else, then you'll be disappointed. I knew that the breakfast would be the same every morning. I knew the rooms were a bit run down. And I knew the towels were super thin. But at the end of the day, I just needed a place to rest when needed. I wasn't staying a long time in my room. The towels worked for me because it got the job done. So if you book this place and expect a 5 star hotel, you won't get it, but the staff are really nice. You come here for the view. Seriously, so don't complain about the place because you should know what you're getting yourself into. I enjoyed it and I would come back. The view is what won me over. Not the facilities. And the walk into town is not that bad at all. It's about 5-7 minutes, no stairs just a slight hill. I never took the bus once. Great location.

Fabulous view, which we enjoyed every minute on our private terrace. Very nice staff, very helpful. Good parking, important to us. Wish there were cooked food available for breakfast, such as scrambled eggs, and real croissants! Room comfortable, and that view! Every hotel should, in my opinion, provide Kleenex tissues, washcloths, and a bottle of water or two as a "welcome gift." This is not just Settimo Cielo, but we found these items lacking in many hotels along the way. This is our second stay at Settimo Cielo and we will be back! We felt welcomed and appreciated the friendliness of staff.

Great for adults and adults with older kids we went with our 3 and 5 year old and the walk to the town is pretty sketchy very small walkway couldn't fit a double stroller. Staff was great room was clean great views total Italian hotel. I would stay again with my lady but not with young kids due to the walk to town.

unbelievable view

On the advice of our travel guide, Giovanni Guidone of TopexcursionSorrento, we booked this hotel for 4 nights. Great decision and choice! Private balconies with seating and a table, overlooking the water and Mt Vesuvius. Breathtaking at night! Great pool for lounging and walking distance to great restaurants and Sorrento city center. Excellent, helpful staff too!

Good views of the Bay of Naples

The hotel has a great location high on the cliffside. However the walk down to the local beach is a good 1.8Km and to the town centre about 1.5km.

Rooms were basic without fridge or coffee/tea making facilities.

Air conditioning was excelkent.

Staff were always pleasant and helpful.

Breakfast was a let down with awful coffee and only basic selection of continental fare.

Expensive, not comfortable, great view

Outstanding view, great pool and good location
But the bed is terrible is not even a normal mattress. I need to go to a quiropractor because of sleeping in that bed (worse than sleeping on the floor) not exagerating
The room feels like you are camping, prehistoric shower curtain with mold, and you don’t feel confortable, way too expensive for what you receive
If you go with a large family could be a better value since the room has one full and two single beds (even if you don’t ask for it)
It could be great with an entire renovation since the location and view is very good, but is really uncomfortable and they don’t seem to care at all, there is no love in this hotel

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, breathtaking views

The best part of this hotel without a doubt is the view from the pool area and the balcony, I could sit there all day watching the port. The hotel has a good location about 10/15 minute walk for the centre of town and about 25 minutes to the port. The staff are super friendly and always went above and beyond to help, breakfast is simple but fresh and tasty. The beds are a little hard but I slept comfortably and through the night all holiday with no problem and although the towels are a little strange they do the job of drying you and are very easy to put up with for a week. Highly recommend.

This hotel was amazing! The view was beautiful, you can see Mt Vesuvio from any spot you sit at! The service was great, the staff very friendly!!!! I would definitely recommend to stay here and close to walk down the hill to get something to eat, snack on or just a drink. the views are amazing!!!

This hotel is really in a beautiful spot in Sorrento. Situated on the side of the cliff it's views are wonderful. The hotel itself is pretty and the staff are all so kind and helpful. I had emailed a few weeks before hand to see if I could up grade to a room with a balcony for myself and two friends but at that time there were no rooms available. When we arrived they had found us a room at no extra cost which was so kind. the rooms were very clean and the pool too. Also they have gluten free bread and snacks for breakfast and there is no charge for using the safe! unlike many hotels. It is easy to walk into town. I would definitely stay here again.

Balcony view was breathtaking!

Absolutely beautiful view from balcony. Room was comfortable though bathroom lacked storage for bathroom items, though this seemed to be the case in most Italian hotels we had stayed at. Front desk was helpful. Though 15 minutes or so from main strip, the walk was always worth it.

Lowest price for the beautiful view

This is a great place to stay for budget travelers who still want that great panoramic ocean view. The view is hands down the best part though as the room was extremely simple, the bed rather uncomfortable (two twin beds pushed together and I woke up in the middle of the night to them rolling apart)

Good sized room, but let down by extremely hard bed mattresses.
Traffic noise in room 33 was also a problem.

Position to the centre is good, Rooms have large balcony with a breathtaking view which also overlooks the pretty harbour. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel and rooms are basic but clean. Mattresses are hard which is ok if you like that.

Fantastic hotel right above the sea!

Great location to town, about a 10 min. Walk. Great restaurants within walking distance as well as shopping. The staff are incredibly helpful. The rooms comfortable although the walls were thinking but not much you could do about that. Overall, excellent stay.

Nice location and view but that is it.

It is a quaint hotel with small rooms and few staff. The balcony we had was the best part of the room and we had water and mountain views.
Hotel and room décor is very outdated. We had a quadruple room and it had four beds and one tall dresser to put a few things, so no room to put your clothes at all. The towels were tablecloths cut down to towel size. The bathroom had one small shelf which wasn't very handy. Our shower was a corner in the bathroom with a odd shower curtain. Water would get on the floor etc. Not good.
No pool towels provided and pool closed around 6:30pm every night so didn't have time to enjoy after a day of touring.
Breakfast was ok but served same items everyday.
Have to leave room key with front desk every time you leave.
No iron, no safe
Beds and pillows uncomfortable.
I would not recommend or stay here again.

Stayed for two weeks in August. Air conditioning worked perfectly, very clean hotel. Staff were all friendly. Fantastic views, great pool. Very good continental breakfast, which was constantly replenished. Would happily stay here again.

Great hotel with stunning views

Great hotel with stunning views over bay of Naples and Vesuvius. We stayed in family room for 10 days and had great time. Staff wonderful and room sizeable with great air con and shower and amazing balcony views. Swimming pool first rate with views of Vesuvius. Only slight drawback is hotel does not do evening meals or snacks which is a great shame as sometimes it would have been nice to stay in rather than walk into town. Busy road outside but no noise in hotel.Walk into town takes about 8-10 min. By far the nicest 3 star we've ever stayed in and I would definitely recommend.

Million dollar view!

This is beautiful place to stay! Our room overlooked the Sorrento coast...a million dollar view! Since it's up on a hillside, you are away from the crowds...which we wanted.

The stay was ok, the Hotel could do with a facelift... but the staff are very friendly. The bed was two singles put together, which is a common thing except when they start moving away from each other in the night. Other then that the stay was ok.

Dated, old fashioned hotel, badly in need of refurbishment. Poor, 'old school' service standards. Staff lack enthusiasm, almost depressing (maybe as family owned business?). Rooms basic, breakfast limited. Very noisy from corridors & lift, noise resonates through room (as in side of cliff). Bathroom infested with ants though staff did clean. Very disappointed with stay. Nice views from balcony the only positive

We booked this hotel at a time that there wasn't much else available. It's a 15 minute walk up hill from Sorrento to the hotel (25 If you're walking from the train station end of town). This slight inconvenience no doubt accounted for its lower price compared to similar hotels in town. The swimming pool and its view of the bay and Sorrento was stunning. Breakfast was basic fare but acceptable.

Charming getaway with a terrific view!

We stayed just one night at this charming B&B .
It is a very pretty, clean hotel with an amazing view from or balcony. The town is just outside Positano but less expensive. Parking is offsite but cheep.

The view from the rooms is amazing.

The hotel is not 5 star so don't expect 5 star accommodation. It's 5 min walk from Sorrento and has all you need for your stay. Staff very helpful and amazing views of the harbour, sea, Sorrento and Vesuvius. Can't knock the hotel apart from making a suggestion. The beds are hard so maybe the offer of a bed topper if wanted could help those who like a softer bed.

Living off its view

The view is absolutely stunning and we enjoyed eating our lunch and having a drink on our balcony. I'm afraid it goes downhill from there. The staff were a mix of very friendly through to courteous but abrupt. The interior of the hotel is very tired and could do with a good coat of paint. This would have made a big difference to the overall impression you get of the place. The breakfast was poor and not very appetising. For example, some yogurt would have been appreciated. The hotel is situated about 10 minutes walk from all the main action which is fine. Be advised that the footpath besides a busy road is extremely narrow in places (not the hotel's fault I know). The straw that broke the camel's back for us was that the sons of one of the staff were allowed to run amok in the pool area spoiling any opportunity for a relax by the pool (avoid school holidays and this probably won't be an issue). The pool should be for guests. As much as we enjoyed the view we won't be returning to this hotel in the future.

Perfect location for Sorrento stay

Having visited Sorrento previously we knew where we wanted our hotel to be for the best views over Bay of Naples, Vesuvius and Sorrento. The Settimo Cielo was very reasonably priced, the family room we had was spacious, clean and had a large balcony with magnificent views. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable. The breakfast consisted of fresh bread, fruit, croissants, cheese and meats and was plentiful. The swimming pool was perfect with excellent views and plenty of sunloungers. It was a 15 minute stroll in to Sorrento itself and as a the perfect hotel for our needs.

Close to town centre. Beautiful view from balcony overlooking bay of naples and vesuvius. Room spacious and clean. Only criticism would be poor choice of food at breakfast. The ham and cheese were awful and there was nothing else but toast and croissants. But apart from that it was fine. Oh, and rooftop pool was great. Needed it in the 35 degree heat

Beach hotel with a GREAT location!

We stayed here for 5 nights in July. We used this as our central location to not only spend time in Sorrento but also to head out to Pompeii, Vesuvius, Amalfi Coast, Capri and Naples. A simple breakfast is included! I can't say enough about the staff of the hotel as they made our stay! They were very friendly and spoke English very well! The rooms were clean with the basic necessities but you definitely stay in this hotel for the stunning view from the balcony overlooking the Sea of Naples, Vesuvius, Sorrento and Marina Grande. We were able to navigate the area by walking, trains, ferries and tour buses without an issue. No need to rent a car.

What a fantastic stay!

The first thing you notice as you enter the room is the fantastic view over the sea and down to Marina Grande below the hotel. The hotel staff were the friendliest I have ever come across and couldn't have been more helpful.
One thing I was concerned about was whether it would be too far from the centre but it was only a short walk to the first few shops etc including g a lovely cafe on the right hand side where we had lovely bruschetta and a cool drink.
I can thoroughly recommend this hotel and it is much cheaper than those on either side which may be more fancy but Settimo Cielo has lovely clean rooMs and everything we needed.

Great location, great staff

Wonderful hotel just outside the center of Sorrento. We stayed during an unexpectedly chilly April week but still found lots to do. The staff are incredibly welcoming and give great tips on where to eat and how to navigate the town. The room is standard Italian hotel - all tile, small beds but that's fine because the view from your balcony will be breathtaking. Grab a bottle of wine down in town and just watch the ships pull in and out. After that, you won't care about the room.

Really good value. You get so much more than you pay for.

This hotel is not luxurious, however for the money you spend you get a wonderful deal. Everything important is there. The room was spotless, the view superb and the staff were incredibly helpful. I don't understand reviewers who focus on the small issues. They sound incredibly spoilt. If you want a 5 star hotel you have to pay the 5 star prices. This hotel was lovely.
