Really enjoyed our stay on this property. The breakfast was good and helped us save a little bit of $$$ especially since our trip was very expensive. When we booked, we didn’t realize how the hotel is in a rural area and is not in a walkable area. Luckily the hotel provides a shuttle every hour (with the exception of around 1-3pm and 9-11pm then no shuttle after 11pm). Lauren worked at the front desk and she was very nice and pleasant. She was super helpful and we enjoyed talking to her. Overall, the staff at the hotel are so nice and Lauren stood out the most.

Grand Hotel Aminta is a simply wonderful hotel. It has impeccably clean rooms with wonderful sweeping views over the Gulf of Naples and Mediterranean Sea. The staff could not have been more courteous or helpful, and the restaurant dining was excellent. It has a real “old world” charm - the kind of atmosphere and service that is sadly lacking from so many modern, more “corporate” hotels. We’d stay again in a heartbeat.

Also worth noting it has a regular private bus service into Sorrento that works like clockwork, and many excursions to Pompeii, Herculaneum, Capri, Vesuvius, the Amalfi Coast and more can be organised straight from the hotel. Absolutely excellent!

Praiano is such a charming town and the La Barbera was a perfect place to stay. Everything was perfect - From the moment we arrived and were guided to the beautiful patio and given an Aperol spritz, to our wonderful room with a comfortable bed spacious bathroom and patio with views for miles, to the wonderful breakfast every morning, and finally, the fabulous staff. Francesco was there to great us every afternoon after our day of adventuring. He made wonderful suggestions for dinner and booked the reservations. Sylvia greeted us each morning for breakfast and provided wonderful advice for planning each day. We stayed three nights and then spent four in Sorrento. We wish we had stayed one more night at La Barbera!

What you should know: the Aminta is a good distance from the center of Sorrento, BUT their wonderful on-the-hour proprietary shuttle bus made the distance irrelevant as there was never a time when we couldn't do what we wished. The views are spectacular and the physical hotel is lovely. Towels could be plusher, but that's a minor concern. Staff was great, breakfast was THE BEST ever encountered for no cost. In general: Terrific.

Positioned high up on hills, the hotel offers a view that is breathtaking…these are for certain rooms. Inside is immaculate, modern and the terrace/bar/restaurant looks directly at Vesuvius. I was a little disappointed at how small it was and how whilst the hotel itself looked recently refurbished, the room needed attention e.g., the floor tiles were chipped/cracked, and the cupboard door was ill-fitting. The size of the rooms appears to be the most commented feature in reviews. However, the view was unbelievable…doesn’t get any better.

I sometimes imagine how royalty is treated when they visit hotels. I honestly felt like a king as the staff are very attentive, nothing is any trouble and all the staff (including receptionists and the maids) were wonderful…the UK could learn something from this hotel in relation to how to provide outstanding customer service.

Food and drink are not cheap but then the choice was good, cooked/presented to a high standard, awesome in flavour, delivered quickly and with a smile…worth it for me personally. The pool was a great size, immaculate and looked after by very attentive and friendly pool attendants who on arrival, adjust your sunbed/umbrella and provide you with fresh towels…great service. They even take your drinks order and it’s delivered to you by bar staff. So yes, the rooms are a bit small (but you are out all day) but given the hotel décor, the location/views and the outstanding service, I’d recommend this to anyone!

Unfortunately, my room had several issues — the sink and bathtub weren’t working properly, and the shower design caused water to spill all over the floor because the showerhead was positioned too close to the edge. The breakfast was also underwhelming. Overall, it’s not worth over $500 a night.

We were a party of 6 staying at this lovely hotel set on the hill side overlooking the sea. We had great rooms all with sea views on the fourth floor, they were spacious with goid storage and small balconies. Breakfast was included there was plenty of choice, staff always welcomed you with a smile. All the hotel staff we encountered were lovely and friendly and helpful, from reception staff, bar staff , pool attendants the cleaners and the shuttle bus drivers , nothing was ever too much. Vittoria, who welcomed us Francesco who checked us out were fabulous. Special shout out to Nello the pool man he was fabulous always greeted you with a huge smile and hello, he even had time to say goodbye as we checked out even though it was early an morning checkout.
The hotel offers a hourly shuttle bus service from 9am to 11pm into the centre with returns hourly from 9:30am to 11:30pm. The later return shuttles could be busy sometimes but you were never left stranded the driver always ensured he got you back to the hotel .
Would definitely recommend this hotel .

We are a difficult family in that one of our family members has a multiple food allergies and he was extremely accommodating and attentive when considering her needs. The shuttle service is reliable and takes you to and from the Sorrento city center, very close to the rail station. The hotel offers majestic views of Sorrento, a relaxing atmosphere, and an extremely attentive and kind staff. I can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful hotel. Lovely pool, grounds, view. Breakfast was out of this world. Way beyond expectations. Best included hotel bfast I think I've ever had. All hotel staff were SO kind and helpful. Free shuttle was key. Paid 40 euro to get from get to hotel when we first got there. Afterward we took the free shuttle to as nd from city center. Took about 12 mins. Only small things is that we are dinner there our last night and process are def higher than in town, but they charged us 25 euros for buttered noodles with Parm. Same price as the bolonaise. Wish we had another day though to just hang out by the pool and chill. Highly recommend.

The hotel was amazing, huge panoramic windows giving stunning views over Sorrento bay and Mount Vesuvius. The terraced area was beautiful and tranquil again offering stunning views. The pool was fab, a great size and there were enough sun beds. The pool attendant was very friendly, always smiling. He’d bring towels, set up the sun beds and umbrellas just as we wanted them and take our drinks orders.
In the evening you could eat outside on the terrace or in the dining room and four nights a week there was either a singer or disco in the outside bar area.
There was a regular shuttle bus to and from Sorrento town centre from 9am with the last bus back at 11:30pm.
Breakfast options ranged from full cooked breakfast, croissants, pastries and sweet treats to continental options or cereals, fruit and yogurts.
I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough.

Fantastic location with stunning views just 10 mins outside Sorrento. The hourly shuttle bus is a blessing as taxis are very expensive. The walk up and down to the hotel is also good but would suggest some general fitness as it’s quite steep but worth every step with the views.

The service from all hotel staff was outstanding. The restaurant and bar staff very attentive and professional and reception staff super helpful with questions on getting around campania and exploring whether is be ferry or train times or best way to book things.

We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a better room upon arrival, which made our stay even more special. The room was clean, modern, and offered stunning views (best in town).

Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the staff at the restaurant were very friendly and attentive. Everyone made us feel welcome and well taken care of.

The hotel also provides a convenient complimentary shuttle service to Sorrento center every hour, which made exploring the area easy and stress-free.

Beautiful property but really strange restrictions:
You had to book the fitness room even though it was hardly used. In fitness rooms, they would unlock the fridge, give you a water bottle and lock it again. No towels.
In pool area we were told we would only get one towel a day.
Food could only be consumed on “round tables”.
Beautiful property guys, let guests (adults paying high rates) enjoy. Relax on the rules!!

The location was excellent, far enough from central Sorrento to give it a chilled, quiet atmosphere, but close enough to get into town (on the complementary bus, which was a nice touch).

The service, food, and pool were also top quality as well.

The only things that let the hotel down were 1) it was being redecorated/ refurbished throughout our stay, so there were a lot of workmen around, even in the corridors by the rooms (unnerving for my teen girls), and our first rooms were constantly covered in paint/ building dust, and 2) the quality of the fittings and build of the rooms was poor, with surprisingly shoddy workmanship

Having said that, the staff changed our rooms early on to ones that were less impacted by the workmen, and we really enjoyed our stay regardless.

STUNNING views, kind, helpful, and professional staff, excellent food and service. It’s a little far from town, but there is a dependable, prompt free shuttle that runs every hour that takes you into town. Be aware that once you get off of the shuttle, you will need to navigate a staircase to get to the lower streets that take you to the town center. My husband is currently dependent on a cane, and I was worried about this, but he did fine. If we are ever fortunate enough to return to Sorrento, we will stay at Hottl Aminta!

This property was lovely! The shuttle was extremely convenient and saved us so much money on cabs into town. It’s about a 10 minute ride into downtown Sorrento.

Breakfast was amazing and the view was INCREDIBLE. We really enjoyed sitting on the terrace and having a drink.

Only comments to note would be that the pool and jacuzzi close at 7pm which is quite early when the sun sets around 9pm. Also, the restaurant offerings were quite fancy and expensive so we couldn’t have a casual dinner at the hotel for our more low key days.

Service was great and we enjoyed reserving time in the small gym available.

Our stay at Hotel Gran Aminta was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, the service was top-tier. The housekeeping staff kept our room spotless and went above and beyond every day. A special shoutout to the porter who helped with our bags—he was incredibly friendly and professional.

The food was absolutely delicious—we looked forward to every meal. The bar service was excellent, and the bartender made sure we always had what we needed. Reception was just as impressive—warm, welcoming, and always helpful.

The entire staff truly made our experience unforgettable. This hotel gets a 10 out of 10 from us. We would absolutely return and recommend it.

I had stayed at the Grand Aminta pre-COVID and had a great stay there. This time I brought another group of friends for a local visit, and we also had a fabulous time.

The room was a nice size, and we were upgraded to a balcony terrace room. We enjoyed the views and fresh air breezes until evening. Unfortunately, cyclists like to rev their engines as they head up the winding hills so we were not able to sleep with the windows open.

Breakfast was good each morning and watching the sun rise over the hills was especially relaxing. We had dinner at the hotel several nights. The bracciole was to die for -- tender, well-seasoned and in a delicious red sauce. Motto bene!!!

The hotel provides a shuttle service into downtown Sorrento. It leaves every hour and returns on the half-hour, starting at 9am. We walked from the shuttle drop off to the local train to Pompeii and then another day walked to the ferry to Capri for a day. Another day, we had a small group tour of the Amalfi Coast and took an Uber from the hotel which was easy to arrange.

I highly recommend the Grand Aminta for convenience, great service and comfortable accommodations!

Beautiful location, with amazing views and clean, modern facility. The breakfast each AM was terrific, just what you wanted before you start your day, and great food. The shuttle runs every hour, I worried it would be a burden, but we actually appreciated being able to \"get away\" from busy-ness of town and enjoy incredible beauty with a cocktail in the evening. Staff is very, very attentive, thoughtful, and excellent hospitality.

The hotel is gorgeous and newly renovated! Much better than we have expected!! Fantastic amenities, views, rooms. Only 2 minor things- it is up a hillside so you do have to rely on the shuttle bus that can be a bit limiting. As well the bathroom in our suite smelled a bit strange but I think it's because of the remote Mediterranean location. Overall we were thrilled and blown away! A must stay!!!

Fantastic property with incredible views of Sorrento . Wonderful breakfast included with white coat service for all meals . Great food and the service is impeccable. Pool is excellent and bar restaurant service all day and into late in evening with some entertainment . Shuttle service was so appreciated in to town . Very clean and well maintained . Staff are excellen , especially the bar and restaurant servers ! Would definitely return to this hotel as highly recommend.

Wonderful stay and the staff were so attentive. Food was delicious. Very clean and easy to get into the centre of Sorrento by shuttle bus. Amazing views of Sorrento. Would highly recommend.

Staff is excellent. Pool is refreshing. Views are phenomenal. Everything you could want is offered at the property. Breakfast was 10/10. Only suggestion is to have the shuttle run more frequently because we ended up taking taxis a few times. Also if at all possible to pick up in Tasso square it would save a short uphill walk. Love love love the stay!

This hotel completely exceeded my expectations. The staff are all so welcoming from the pool attendants to the cleaners. The hotel is beautiful, stylish and clean. The rooms are so spacious and the views from all over the hotel are incredible! The food served was always delicious. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel as an excellent base to explore the surrounding area. There is a shuttle bus that is reliable and punctual that takes you down to the busy centre. We were glad our hotel was outside of Sorrento as it is much more peaceful up the hill and the views are well worth the short trip on the bus. Fabulous hotel!

We had the BEST week staying at this hotel. From the front desk, waitstaff for breakfast, house keeping to the bartenders (Especially Antonio) it was AMAZING. I am a previous restaurant owner and worked in the hospitality industry for years. I couldn't figure out how everyone was amazing until days later we were told the hotel is locally owned and the owner comes in frequently. Which we did see him one night. Anyway, the views are amazing. They do have a shuttle but you'll probably still need a taxi some, but it was worth it. We had such an amazing time and alot of it was Grand Hotel Aminta itself and all the staff. The pool and hot tub were great too! You can't go wrong with this hotel.
