Parking was very straightforward. Hotel is in a beautiful location above Sorrento. There is a steep 10 minute walk down into the town. Hotel offers a shuttle service. Although limited, the food was well presented and tasty. The staff were exceptionally friendly.

This hotel is a little distance from the center of Sorrento but the hotel runs a shuttle into town which was very useful. It sits high on the hill and has amazing views over the Bay of Naples and Capri. The staff were helpful and the food at the restaurant was pretty good. The room was clean and comfortable but a little dated.

Our second time at Johanna Park, such a lovely area, you are in a garden, surrounded by lemon , orange and olive trees . Great breakfast selection, dinner always very delicious. Shuttle to Sorrento centre and return.
There were 5 of us, we al enjoyed this hotel.

All good things to say about Johanna Park Hotel! We really enjoyed our stay. The room was very reasonable and nice bathroom (they’re all small everywhere but this was clean and had tub/shower). The restaurant was good quality, lots of options at the breakfast buffet and solid options for dinner. The service was fantastic, all the staff with the restaurant and the shuttle services were incredibly hardworking and kind to go out of their way for you. The front desk staff was helpful, sometimes a little short with you, but saw that everywhere in Italy. The shuttle service was incredibly helpful to go to city center and bus/train station. It solved a lot of worries about walking down/uphill or getting an expensive taxi. Highly recommend Johanna Park Hotel, and would stay again if visiting Sorrento!

I only gave 3 stars to this hotel because some staff and some things were okay but I do even think it deserves 3 stars. I reserved a room with a view but something happened I guess when we checked in because they told us to come back down stairs and that they are changing our room: they called it garden view away from the hotel and we had to drag our luggage down not even sure what to call it. The room was semi clean because there were aunts on the floor. The ridge didn’t work and the view was horrible! It was unkept garden you don’t even want to see and small lizards were all we saw. The place seems like it’s a family run than corporate ran because the person that helped checked us in was also the person that took our order at the restaurant and also the one that drove the shuttle to the city. They seem to have many hats. The person that took us to the city (that drove the shuttle) told us to wait where he dropped us off and gave us the schedule for the shuttle so we went to the same spot and waited at 9 pm which the shuttle never came. When we called the hotel they told us he just left and should be there soon which never happened. When we called the hotel again no one answered. We waited until 10 to see if the 10 pm would come on time and since we waited until 9:30 we said 30 minutes wouldn’t change anything. We waited 10 after 10 and took a taxi to the hotel and when i mentioned it to the guy in the front desk he said the driver was there at 10 but at a different spot.

Our family took 2 rooms for 9 nights at the hotel.
The beat thing about the hotel is their staff, they very kind and always keen to help. Even though the hotel is with small number of room the service is 24/7.
the pool is great the kids loved it .
The hotel should upgrade some of its furniture and it would help to add a kittle in the rooms.
we enjoyed our stay and for recommend to stay at this hotel especially for families with kids.

The property is very clean, and the view is good. Staff is extremely caring. From receptionist, barista, waiter, you feel warm welcome from everyone. It like steps into my own big family except my dog would not bark at me. There is shuttle between hotel and Sorrento which is a plus.

Nice hotel with friendly staff, shuttle bus was great for getting up and down but the times of the service where a bit disappointing, the last one back to hotel was 10pm which was quite annoying and there was nothing really that interesting in the hotel to go back so early for. The room was really outdated and very little in the choice of TV channels. The bed was really uncomfortable and our view from the hotel was at the back so basically it wasn’t a view

Only stayed one night as we had a Yacht excursion the following day. The pool was fine. Dining room server was very professional and courteous. Check in and out was easy. The furniture in the rooms needs to be updated badly. Hotel needs to be refreshed. But for one night I can’t complain. Property is up away from all of the noise down below.

I found hotel whilst looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the Sorrento/Almafi Coast area. Good value, clean, pretty with amazing views of the Gulf of Napoli and Mount Vesuvius. 2 minor niggles, no wifi in our room and the coffee at breakfast was instant coffee (yuck).

We had a lovely suite that was separate from the main property with a balcony overlooking sorrento. It was lovely and quiet. We stayed here for three days and did day trips to the amalfi coast.
The only bad thing was that we had no wifi in the room the whole stay I guess because it was detached from the hotel.

Needs to be updated as building and rooms was looking old. Shower didn’t work well.
Pool and grounds were nice as was the view. Staff in restaurant were amazing and worked so hard! Food was not that great, wouldn’t recommend dinner nor breakfast.

We liked this hotel. The shuttle bus makes it really easy to get into town and it’s easy to walk in too and get the bus back. You can book outings to pick you up from the hotel too making it easy to holiday without a car. Friendly staff helped me find a cheaper option to the airport too. Nice pool and terrace too.

The hotel was much further than anticipated but the biews were beautiful. Once we got to the station we took a cab to hotel because we were informed they had a shuttle to pick us ip snd we paid $35 Eur. The staff looked upset since they had to do all (receptionist, waiters and shuttle drivers) the friendliest was Guiseppe!

The room was freezing and there was a double not twin bed on arrival.
There was no hot water on the first day, after complaining 3 times it was changed to luke warm for the whole 5 days.
The staff were very helpful on arrival and knowledgeable about excursions, but overall they were not very professional in their general approach.
Only 15 minute transfer to Sorrento which was very good.
The breakfast was sufficient, although the drinks machine was broken.
I would not recommend this hotel.

What a view!

We had a lovely spacious room with a view of the sea. The staff were very helpful at all times. We arrived late in the afternoon and even though the dining room was closed they made us a light lunch which was just perfect. We were further out of town than I realized we would be but they had a shuttle van which drove us into town and brought us back from a prearranged time and location in town. The distance from town did not hamper our enjoyment of Sorrento or the area. It actually made our stay nicer as it was quiet at night and the views were amazing. There is an inter town bus stop just outside the gates of the hotel which takes you up and down the Amalfi Coast.

Fantastic Hotel!

The most amazing hotel I stayed in during a 2 week trip. The sea view rooms offer a stunning view of the Bay across to Naples & Mt. Vesuvius. There's an observation deck on the 4th floor offering even more incredible views. Hotel staff were friendly, helpful & fun. I had a couple of pix spurs with my room the first night & they immediately moved me & upgraded my room, too. Rooms were spacious & beds were comfortable. Only issue was the dearth of electrical sockets, which seems to be common in Italy.

If you are looking to stay in a hotel in Sorrento that is away from downtown, this hotel is a great find. The staff was very accomodating and friendly, food was very good and priced right, the room was spacious and clean. I have no reservations about recommeding this hotel and would definitely return.

God's stay but the hotel needs a bit of work

The staff is really nice and the pool area is really cool with the sea view and everything. Nevertheless there are some things to point out.
The rooftop area is on lame conditions, it just can't be used like in the pictures. The room furniture is old yet comfortable. Room walls need to be repainted. Heads up: If your reservation says \"Park view\" this means view to rear side of the hotel which is really ugly compared to the other side (during check-in the staff change our room to a smaller one with Sea view).
The breakfast was included which is nice, but the quality of the products is not the best. Their croissants where gummy and the jam was awful.
We also took dinner but it didn't worth the price we paid for frozen shrimps.
We think it was too expensive for a 4* hotel in those conditions

Stayed here for 3 nights, had a cabin/villa removed from the main hotel, from the deck e could see the sea and groves of lemon trees.
There was a pool which was put to use after a 35 degree day
Staff were sincerely caring, polite and accommodating.
The hotel is nicely removed from town, and the hotel runs a shuttle by schedule, we were off schedule and they drove us to the stop regardless, a nice gesture, even when we left they took us to the trains, saving a pricey taxi ride.
Definitely would stay here again.
Food was on the mediocre side, but everything else was super!

fabulous views over the sorrento gulf and vesuvius. lovely looking pool. rooms good with comfy beds. Solid 15 minute walk downhill into town, killer 30 minute walk back up from town! Shuttle bus avilable if required. Noise between rooms quite bad, regularly was disturbed by overnight parties dragging cases around their rooms.

A very nice but quiet hotel.

We visited the hotel on October. The weather was warm by day,cool at night. We had some great Thunder Storms over several nights. The hotel is situated in an olive grove on a hill above the town. It had a great outdoor sitting and pool area which would be more suited to warmer weather. The views of the bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius were excellent.

Our room was as you would expect for a four star hotel. Very comfortable and clean. The restaurant had a good menu and we ate in on a number of occasions during the week. The town of Sorrento has many good restaurants, which we also tried.

It was a 20 minute walk down into the town. We did not try walking back, instead we used the Hotel courtesy bus. If you use the local bus service take the hotel's advice and get your ticket in advance. You cannot pay on the bus. Also be careful which bus company ticket you buy.

The town is relatively flat but has two steep descents to the two harbours. These can be accessed by walking, obviously, a lift system and public transport.

We had a really good week and would recommend the hotel and the town.

Tremendous and friendly staff!

Location is gorgeous with a nice view from our balcony. The staff was amazing, especially the waiter Guiseppe who took such pride in his job. He was so friendly, spoke a bunch of languages, wouldn't let us do anything ourselves-he took join on waiting on us, so quick to get our egg order and drink orders. He looked like Robert DeNiros's twin and even sounded like him! Also Johanna at the front desk was the sweetest lady! Nello too was very helpful. Only downside was that we had a corner Room 107, first floor, and for a few nights Trafalgar tour folks took up the rest of the floor and were very noisy putting suitcases in the halls, slamming doors and talking very loudly. They should have put us on a higher floor honestly.
There was an outside patio where you could eat breakfast and we could really hear them out there before it was even open and the setting up of breakfast woke us. But despite, I would highly recommend this Hotel just for the staff alone. Plus it was nice that they had a free Hotel shuttle several times daily to get to town and back. THANKS FOR SUCH A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE!

Is it a 4 star hotel ... who cares when the hotel staff are so friendly and helpful.
It is a little out of town but the shuttle bus service works really well. It is a little rough around the edges but the pool is lovely and clean.
I would certainly stay here again based on the fact that i like a quiet pleasant hotel that has a bit of character.

A great family run hotel

The hotel Johanna Park is a great hotel, just outside of Sorrento, run by three generations of a local family. The owner and family members could not do more to make our stay a very pleasant and enjoyable first visit to the area.

Good location out of busy town but takes a shuttle to get there. Beware of local taxi prices which is c25 euros one way - hence use the shuttle if possible.

The suites are a great new addition to the well kept hotel.

Relaxing Holiday

Had a great time at The Johanna Park Hotel. Staff are fantastic cannot do enough. Even forgot my trainers on a boat trip. Johanna got hold of the company and they were returned the next day, Service you wouldn't get at many places. With the new pool this hotel gives you the best of both worlds, chance to explore Sorrento and surrounding areas. Or come home and relax around a superb pool. Even families would enjoy this area and hotel. With the added advantage of the Shuttle bus to centre of Sorrento this saves a 15 min walk down a winding path not sublte for those that don't like walking. Shuttle bus times are a bit strange but if your stuck we phoned the hotel and they came and picked us up out of the agreed times.
We only had breakfast at the hotel that we found Adequate for choice. Although on hearing people views on the food at dinner times there seamed no complaints only good views.
On the room it's good size with a fridge too. Only down side found bed a bit hard. Room cleaned everyday.
Overall you cannot complain about this hotel. In fact would I stay hear again. Of cause we would, probaly one of the best for value hotels you will find. Thank you Johanna Park for a Fab Stay

A free shuttle bus layed on by the hotel will take you into sorrento when you want to hit the town. Last bus back at 11.15. For the most Johanna and her team are very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are spotlessly clean with air conditioning. A new swimming pool was put in last year with a jacuzzi at one end. I would most certainly revisit this hotel when I go back to Sorrento.

A Piece of Sorrento

This hotel was better than described. The staff was great, especially Giuseppe. We felt as though we were old friends as soon as we walked in the door. It was comfortable, clean and very welcoming. The view from the rooftop was awesome, especially late at night. Breakfast each day was a big benefit,and free. We would definitely recommend it and would stay there again. It is a ways from town and a car would be helpful since the hotel shuttle makes limited runs.

Utterly charming hotel

A little difficult to find by car, but worth the search! The owner is as charming and enthusiastic as can be. Breakfast was included and one of the best of the included breakfasts we have had. We were in the off season and her dining room was closed, but she provides a free shuttle to Sorrento that is very convenient. Too cold for the pool, but it looked very inviting. The views are to die for as well.

Wonderful views

We stayed at the Johanna Park hotel for 1 week. The hotel was in a lovely location with views over the bay of Naples. There was a scooter path opposite the hotel where we could walk into sorrento and the shuttle bus was handy and a bonus when coming back. The outside area was very nice as was the pool and roof terrace although the weather was a little cool for us to make full use of this. We would definitely consider going to this hotel again.

the staff were really lovely and helpful

nice welcome. A shuttle to and from town every 2 to 3 hours which was really good as it is out of town on a hill. A good English breakfast. loungers to relax around a small but clean pool and a beautiful view of the coast and of the volcano. the waiter always greeted you cheerfully in the morning and made everyone feel at ease. a lovely family run hotel.

Lovely Italian family welcome

We arrived at Sorrento Train/Bus station at midday, rang the hotel and Johanna told us where to wait and kindly sent the shuttle bus to pick us up. The greeting at the hotel was like arriving home with Johanna welcoming us and proudly showing us her new swimming pool before we signed in and were shown to our room on the second floor (room 206). The room space was ample with wardrobe space and plenty of storage for our luggage etc. Nice bath/shower room and a beautiful view of the Bay of Naples. The hotel is a true family enterprise with Johanna being helped by her daughters and son who also took on the various roles involved with running the business eg. shuttle bus drivers to hotel reception. We were dropped of at the train station when we went on excursions to Pompei, Herculaneum and the boat trip to Capri which Johanna suggested and arranged for us was brilliant, we were even taken into town by Johannas lovely daughters in there own car when the shuttle was unavailable. The cleaning staff were always polite in the morning and the room was always left a lot tidier than we had left it!!. Breakfast had enough variety for us with cereals, and the usual continental ham, cheese, breads etc. and the wonderfully happy waiter always offered fried eggs or ommlettesas a further option. The pool area had plenty of seating and sun beds and the pool itself was a real bonus after a day of visiting the sites especially the jaccusi section at the shallow end.

Simple hotel with a pool and great view

Johanna Park is a nice simple hotel. The food is average and as pricy as anywhere. Breakfast was included but just average, all they had was scramble eggs, no other egg options, ham, bread, croissant, etc. It was a little better than continental breakfast but nothing spectacular. Coffee was from a machine that had coffee and espresso but it was a vending machine type. Lunch and Dinner menus were boring, nothing great. We ordered dinner once, the food was bland and hardly tasty (gnocchi boring, burger no buns, omelette tasteless. Salad with no salad dressing.

The worst was their internet, no service in the room although advertised as internet available. It only worked in the lobby, this was awful, we can't relax and contact family and friends as we could not use internet from home.

It is about 10 minutes drive from Sorrento downtown.

Perfect Hotel in Sorrento

What a wonderful hotel in Sorrento. Johanna was lovely- taking care of all of our needs, even taking us in her own car to the marina to take the ferry to Capri. Complimentary shuttle to Sorrento was great for dinner in town , giving us enough time to enjoy and return back to the hotel. New pool was amazing, and was great to come back to after a long hot day.

The hotel was like being at home -- so comfortable and enjoyable, with everyone being accomodating and helpful.

Great hotel just outside of Sorrento (not really walkable but there is a shuttle bus) The place was clean and quite nice pool area with a fantastic view, would I go back? Yes! Would I recommend to go there yes.

I struggled on how to rate this hotel. Johanna worked very hard to make our stay perfect. We visited in July and it was hot. The air conditioning was not great. For some reason the electricity went off and on for about an hour or so on two separate nights. Not sure if it was the number of guests, ac running and the restaurant but it seemed to work itself out. The ac was turned off and after a while they turned it back on. We never were able to get internet to work in our room but we had not problems getting wifi in the lobby. The shuttle was a great help to go into Sorrento. We took a taxi back one night and Johanna insisted that we call next time so we did not have to pay the 35 euros that it cost to drive to the hotel. The breakfast was poor. I would rather have a real coffee than one out of a machine. We had dinner in the restaurant several nights and it was good. The view is amazing from the hotel.

Great budget hotel!

We had a great experience staying at Johanna Park Hotel in Sorrento. The staff is great and hotel provides shuttle service which can drop you to Sorrento center and back. On our last day the shuttle even dropped us to train station which was very nice. Johanna, the owner, is always there to make sure everything is going well. She is one person that make your stay even more pleasant with her smile.

I would definitely stay here again!

Home Away From Home

Giovanna the owner is a bright light who takes extreme pride in her hotel. We felt like we were guests at her home and not in a hotel. The staff was always ready and willing to accommodate. They ran a convenient shuttle to and from the city center at designated times but on more then one occasion the owner and staff drove us down. Giuseppe the waiter a.k.a Robert DiNiro look alike made our dinning experience memorable. The hotel location is purched a few kilometers above the city center offering a safe environment from the hectic traffic offering spectacular view both day and night. The terrace on the top floor offers an ideal photo opportunities. Although the main pool is not yet completed it will be lovely. Our experience was a very memorable one.

Johanna is a gem!

We loved the Johanna Park hotel with amazing views over the bay of Naples.
The food and service was exceptional especially from Johanna herself who was so helpful and an absolute delight of a lady. Staying at the Johanna Park was a home from home experience and I would definitely stay there again.

The view from the rooms is outstanding. Johanna, the owner, and her family and employees are welcoming and friendly, though English usage is limited. It is easy to catch a shuttle to downtown Sorrento or take the bus to Positano and Amalfi. The coastal bus fills up; you may have a better chance of getting a seat by taking the shuttle to the town bus station and entering the coastal bus there. Dinner at the Johanna was very good, especially the service. Room furnishings are older, but the facilities work well and are comfortable. Too far, and steep, to walk to town easily, but that also makes it quiet and relaxed. Easier to find than we expected, the hotel signs at intersections in Sorrento helped.
