The staff are friendly, although their helpfulness can be questionable at times. It feels like “yes” is the default response, even when follow-through is lacking. The hotel itself is clearly showing signs of age, the rooms and facilities are tired, and renovations are definitely needed.
While Victoria Falls is known for its eco-tourism, the hotel doesn't offer much in terms of nighttime entertainment or activities.
Overall, the experience was just okay — nothing particularly memorable, but not terrible either.

Loved our stay at this property. They offer shuttle service to and from the airport as well as Victoria falls. The staff were amazing, especially Rody at the front desk, the shuttle drivers and our wait staff. The breakfast was included and was superb with lots of choices, including gluten free options. The pool area was nice to relax after a day of touring. Our room was clean but there was a gaping hole from the outside, near the deck doors, allowing for mosquitos to enter. They did spray our room before bed and there is mosquito netting around the bed. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Absolutely loved our stay at Elephant hills! The staff really are just so wonderful and friendly and the facilities were awesome! Pools, golf, tennis, and games rooms kept us occupied on the downtime parts of the days! The airport transfers were a breeze and the shuttle bus to town / the falls was so convenient. Honestly cannot fault our stay here. Couple in our early 30s.

This is a world class 5 star resort with guest services second to none. They are very accommodating and will go above and beyond for you. The resort and grounds are immaculate. Magnificent views of Zambezi and can see the spray from the falls. We stayed here for three weeks and I would highly recommend it. Sharon and her whole team at guest services were spectacular and always went the extra mile to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Trinity and his team at the front desk are very accommodating. Peter and his team in the restaurant and kitchen provide amazing service.You can truly immerse yourself in the African culture here if you desire

I had a bad room experience.. lights didn’t work, water everywhere with shower and it didn’t drain, toilet kept running, air conditioner very noisy, connecting room noisy at 6:15 am and the connecting door banged. At around 11:00 pm I thought someone was breaking into the room

I liked the golf course although the hotel is not doing much to advertise the golf course to the tourist , out of the hundreds of the people booked at hotel on the 24th only 2 people from the hotel played , the rest were locals
2) the hotel could have organized better entertainment that does not affect those who don’t like loud music , however loud music was played on the 24th and 25th Dec disturbing those who needed to rest . Considering the hotel talks a lot abt preserving nature and the animals I feel the animal kingdom was invaded and disturbed by such loud music and the hotel compromising on their own values .
3) parking was poorly oganised and visitors ended up parking way far from the hotel risking being attacked by roaming animals at nite as the lighting in the garden is dull and poor.
4) most members of the staff were not aware of certain processes and procedures and ended up saying the wrong things or misleading customers , training to deal with crowds and knowing what to say or refer upwards when in doubt wld help
5) too many trainees and hired waiters who did understand the operations and how to serve the customers was a big challenge tonthe customer experience, again this could have avoided by preparing and equping the waiters

Friendly helpful staff from our arrival and throughout our stay. A confusion over our room prior to arrival was sorted out immediately and with ease at check-in. We enjoyed using all the facilities and breakfasts and buffet dinners were excellent although dinner and evening 1buffet prices were expensive.

We had a great time at the property. we enjoyed amazing foods and wonderful view.
It is one of the best choices to stay at Victoria Falls.
The shuttle to the city was very useful and it had very helpful and kind drivers.

Small smelt of body odour from early hours of the morning.

we LOVED this hotel, the room was a little shabby as was the bedding etc but the staff were delightful, polite, kind, conversational. The zimbabwean people are just delightful always with a smile and happy to help. The walk onto the golf course brings constant views of fabulous trees, impala, water bore, and other animals, delightful. There were always someone to walk with me although I didnt need the security, I CAN ONLY SAY GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS HOTEL

My husband and I were checking out of the hotel and were supposed to be charged $30 for the buffet, but they ran my credit card for $461. I immediately noticed and asked for a refund but they said there was nothing they could do about it other than have me fill out a form to get reimbursed in 4-6 weeks. It's been exactly 3 months and still nothing. I've called and tried dealing with it through my credit card company numerous times but since Elephant Hills isn't responding to their inquiries, they say there's nothing they can do. DO NOT STAY HERE. I am furious and this is a TON of money to steal.

Food prices a bit steep for Zimbabwe, and not quite as clean as it should be. 25 years old now and needs some refreshing. But still a very good value in a 4-Star Victoria Falls property.

Alot of things to enjoy at the hotel including the helpful staff, our suite, breakfast, pool and setting.
Improvements? The vast dining room is looking somewhat jaded. What about a haut cuisine/ alternative cuisine/silver service restaurant to provide a different dining experience? The pool sun lounger cushions need an upgrade. The air conditioning unit on the room balcony was very noisy - a problem at night. The bar could do with separating from the dining room.

Had to move rooms due to no wi fi and school kids running up and down (knocked on my door at 2230 and then run off again), also had stains on my bedding.
Ok breakfast but not great for a 4 star hotel.
Shuttle bus was good to town but left early coming back from Vic falls one day so had to wait an extra hour.
Staff in hotel v pleasant but when you bell are actually not that great, several other guests I spoke to said the same.

One positive was massage lady in the spa was amazing worth every dollar

The Presidential Suite was glorious! Beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful, particularly the concierge desk. The property is a bit out of town, but the shuttle runs regularly. The grounds are lovely and the place is quiet and restful.

What sets apart this hotel from other hotels is that it is magnificent and grand, staff that is so friendly and ready to help. From check in the ladies at the front were very pleasant and the porter explained all the features of the room.The breakfast had a good spread and dinner was just a good and tastey.The pool area has ample seating and towel service ,refreshments if needed are served at the pool. I would recommend this hotel to anyone if you wants to enjoy Victoria Falls at a clean friendly hotel.

Our experience left a lot to be desired!

Our experience of the Elephant Hills Resort, Victoria Falls, left a lot to be desired.

The common areas appear refurbished but the tiled floor throughout the common areas are very slippery - just waiting for a liability to happen!

The relatively small rooms with single sized beds have old dark wooden furniture and poor lighting, creating a stale suite with a rating of a two star hotel - although the air conditioner was excellent and a lifesaver as the temperature hit 40*C! A functional remedy might be to enclose the large balconies which at present are dead space in the heat.

Our 11 yr old son slipped in the bath tub where the shower is sited - the rubber mat needs to be extended! The lighting here is also poor for a man to have a shave.

Breakfast is good, although my son spotted a cockhroach on the bread - we decided that toast would be an apt solution! Main meals were varied, but the desert and cake selections were simply ordinary.

Finally, Elephant Hills Resort is a huge complex of suites - if you are unlucky with a renewed card key that stops working every few hours, and you enjoy the extra exercise and time journeying back to the front desk, then you are in luck, and this is definitely the place for you!

No real complaints. Hotel needs some infrastructure investment: e.g. no business computer available, gym equipment quite limited, plumbing and a/c noisy, TV signal very weak and so screen was blurred. But people come to Victoria Falls to see the outdoors so any complaints are minor.

Very pleasant rooms and location. The rooms were quiet. No slamming doors or noise from adjoining rooms. Beautiful and unusual open air corridor with waterfall. Definitely not your average hotel.

The only minor issues were (1) the air conditioning cut off one night, but was promptly repaired, and (2) the toilet tank took a longer than usual time to refill.

Service in the restaurant was extremely slow(waiting over 30 minutes for main course)
Victoria Falls is very expensive anyway but we felt thar this was HighEuropean prices but not the quality.
Mix up with our taxi to the airport was handled very stressfully
Gym is reasonably welll stocked but again the equipment could do with an overhaul
People and staff are amazing and very attentive
Toiletries and towels are plentiful
Regular bus service into town

This hotel is lovely, we stayed here for 9 nights and enjoyed every moment. The food is amazing with plenty of choice, the staff are friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Douglas who works in the restaurants and bar is a great guy who can’t do enough for you, make sure you meet him 😊 The grounds are well kept and looked after. There is an abundance of wild animals too - all harmless if left alone.

Wonderful service at Elephant Hills Resort

The hotel is a little rundown and needs some mainenance. The food was good and the buffets had a very extensive selection. The al la carte oxtail was fantastic! However, the service was the best part! The people are amazing. They genuinely cared about us and went out of their way to help us. For example Tsitsi at the Guest Services desk went out of her way to track down a lost suitcase which she found had been left in Windhoek and ensured that it was delivered to us. Edmore can speak 14 languages and makes everone feel welcome. Jefka, a porter, greeted us every morning with a huge smile and made the start to the day a pleasure. There were many more wonderful people. We will definitely go back to the Elephant Hills Resort.

This place is circa 2k zar per night and offers little value. Breakfast at $27USD is more expensive than the Bellagio in Las Vegas and a million miles away in terms of Quality A buffet exists and eggs and bacon (if available) are made to order but expect lengthy queues. Amazing to think two of most popular 'foodstuffs' are not in the 'all you can eat' buffet 'pots'. They are made to order.....to keep cost down. Also, there was no bread one morning and no coffee station. Waiters /waitresses tend to the tables but whole set up could be improved. The hotel, like some much in Africa was probably fantastic back in the day, opened in 1993 but there's been little investment or maintenance in it since. The room safe was broken and not fixed to wall so effectively useless on both counts, not what is needed when bringing sums of money into a country where there is little. The shuttle service is good but runs from 9-5 only when it should extend into the evening at least. Also, no airport shuttle includes, this is an extra $14pp. In fairness, the outdoor pool, tennis courts and presumably the golf course (I didn't play) were all good. All in all, it's probably as good as you're likely to get in Africa but if used to more developed countries, you'll find its very poor value for money. A small bit of investment could yield good rewards but 'this is Africa' applies...... nothing put in and expect most out!!

Beautiful hotel with the most helpful and happy and jolly staff to be around smilling faces all over the property never seen anything like that.
Good food and reasonable priced no tendency of scheming guests like other's African countries!.
Hotel needs updating especially the bathroom but everywhere sqeaky clean and the beds are comfy needs some sleepers in the rooms and soap holders on the sinks apart from that everything is good.Highly recomends

Well positioned to visit the Falls; fantastic grounds and view; reliable shuttle service to the Falls. While friendly, some staff need more training - not all but some reception staff ignore you. It’s confusing to play golf as nothing is coordinated - pro shop, green fees, caddies are all different payments and in different locations. However, the golf course is a great experience - and wonderful caddies. Would go back for sure.

Relaxing atmosphere about a 5 minute drive from town. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Spacious and secure rooms with electronic safe. Hourly shuttle to falls, town and other legacy hotels. Breakfast included is brilliant! Don’t leave your balcony door and mosquito screen open at the same time, the monkeys will come in and take your milk lol. Helicopter ride is about 60 m from the main entrance so you can walk. Perfect if you don’t want to be in the constant hustle and bustle of the main town.

We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed our 3 night stay very much. Our room and bathroom were clean and spacious and very comfortable. The views over the golf course to the Zambezi River were lovely.

The grounds of the hotel were lovely too with a number of monkeys, baboons and other creatures wandering around!

Breakfast was great with lots of choices both hot and cold. Lunch choices were also very good and the A La Carte Dinner was very good.

All staff were friendly and very helpful

The Hotel is very very tired decor leaves a lot to be desired our room was dirty, furniture old and broken, bathroom was terrible, no walk in shower and when you are in your seventies shower over baths are deadly, bath towels were the size of a tea towel. Room 477 should be shut down immediately.This Hotel should be listed as 2star not 4 star.

I stayed at the hotel for a conference. The staff and communal spaces are great - food was also very good. The rooms were a little tired and bathrooms definitely need to be updated.

Great to have the wildlife roaming around the grounds. Useful to have the free shuttle to the town.

Overall, a very good stay.

Nice.short distance from town

On arrival you are greeted with a cold drink when checked in your bags are delivered and you are shown around your room. Staff were very friendly and remember you and what you have talled about. Animals roaming property are wild but yes to people. The restaurant is a buffet, if there is a non buffet restaurant I did not find it. Shuttle runs every 30 min. to town until 5 pm.

Great staff but old facilities

This hotel is not cheap by any means, and the rooms are pretty old and shabby. However nothing is a problem for the wonderful staff who are completely professional and gracious - they made the stay enjoyable.

Great Hotel with a top class Golf Course

The Hotel is fantastic and its on Hilltop giving you views to the Mighty Zambezi river. The Thatching needs to be redone as its now old.

Would stay again.

Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Always smiling. Great value for money. New gym opens in Sept 2017. Two tier pool is great. Restaurants offer good variation of food, excellent prices. Great location. Free transfers into the town centre and to the Falls themselves. Decor of the rooms a little dated, but everything you need and want is there, comfortable and very clean.

Beautiful hotel in the bush

Loved the location of the hotel, quiet and peaceful. We had a room which was facing the mighty Zambezi river, and from it we could see elephants foraging in the forest.

Staff and views are worth the trip

I would consider this a five star for the area. The facility is lovely and decorated with lots of local artwork. The rooms, ground and views are great. The staff in the dining area were the best part. Tanaka and Musa made the best eggs and I would return just for them. Other staff were helpful and really cared that you had a good experience. Time has worn the facility in some areas. It could use some polishing and greater detail in cleaning. I would stay here again upon return.

Pleasant resort

The hotel is a little out of the centre but there is a free hourly shuttle to the town and Victoria Falls. If you're looking to relax here there is golf, tennis and swimming. Unfortunately the pool was being maintained during our stay which took away one of the major attractions for us. Wildlife feed in the grounds most days which makes a great outlook. Service and meals were generally excellent. After a camping safari, this was a great place to unwind.

Nice hotel.

Some maintenance needed in the rooms, but comfortable enough. Was very cool that you are surrounded by nature. There are monkeys that check out your room routinely to see if they can get in. There are kudus, impalas, monkeys, baboons, warthogs all over the property. We saw a large elephant right next to the gate as we came back at night. Breakfast was good as well.

Great Vic Falls hotel

Awesome individualized service; very attentive staff in a beautiful setting. Lots of wildlife on the hotel grounds and golf course. Room service was a plus. I would definitely stay again just based on the service and value alone. Not too far from town centre but far enough away to feel like you're in the wild. Great shuttle service; they went above and beyond. Wish I could've stayed another day or two. Watson was a great caddy on the golf course.

Bathroom fittings could use upgrade or modernization but other than that the room and view were great. Nice cozy new bed too.

Beautiful estate;

Everything was fine except the air conditioning which was not working but it did not bother us much. The estate is beautiful, walking around the golf course is like walking around a park with wild life in sight. The hotel site is really nice; i would stay there again

Nice hotel close to vic falls overlooking a golf c

Not far from Victoria falls. Nice big resort. Warthogs running around. Spacious and clean. Lovely facilities including; swimming pools, tennis courts, golf course and casino. Lots of friendly staff. Lovely large rooms.

Great hotel just outside Vic Falls. Shuttle service to and from town all day. The golf course was amazing to play. Lots of game all around, the front 9 was wide open and very forgiving for the beginner golfer. While the back 9 offered some of very challenging holes.

Beautiful setting and amazing staff

Rooms are airy and spacious with air conditioning and fast WiFi.

Monkeys coming into the rooms are a major problem, so it is impossible to go out on the balcony and enjoy the views.

Our room took 15 mins with the tap open to get water hot enough to have a shower. The bathroom is dated but spotlessly clean.

The staff are amazing and so helpful! The breakfast has everything + the accompanying views are stunning!

Free shuttles to town and the falls are a major help especially since taxi prices are high.

There are no elephants on the property, however they do walk past the entrance around 9pm on some nights!

9/10 Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We made it work

Pleasantly surprised with this resort. Staff was very friendly, helpful and courteous. The wait staff at the pool was not very attentive to all the customers. Golf was great, as it provided its own wildlife viewing.
