Guest services, restaurant staff, housekeeping and all staff we encountered were absolutely phenomenal. Professional, polite, friendly and welcoming. It was nice to be back in Zimbabwe after over a decade and to be reminded of what it feels like to be home. Shout out to the Chefs, the food was exceptional both in the main restaurant and at the spa. If Boma id part of the same chain, the entertainment and food were on the same level - absolutely too notch!

Would highly recommend a stay here and I would gladly come back for more. Shout out to Louise, Ronald, Gibson, Owen, Khumbula (hotel), then Pretty, Precious, Kelly, Nokthula (Spa), and finally Busi and a very smiley other lady who came looking for me when I left abruptly (Boma).

We loved the attention to detail. Everything need was considered and addressed. We give it 10 stars. The staff was amazing especially Zebulen, the rooms were luxurious, the food top notch and the views... so peaceful and overlooking the water hole with the sunset. We are planning a teip back to see it after rainy season!

This place is not handicapped accessible. I was not able to walk all the steps to go up and down to various locations even in your room you had to go down steps from the bathroom to get to the bedroom. The staff was awesome. The breakfast was great

One pays for the view at this property, which is spectacular. The rooms are tired, the service lacks finesse, food is average at best, and there was a complete lack of attention to detail and zero management presence around. Had to keep on asking for basic things like towels around the pool, which were threadbare and bleach stained. Waiters kept forgetting people’s orders etc. Way too expensive for what one gets. Members of the team who stood out, as an exception were, the driver, Steven, and Gibson at Reception. I would definitely not pay what I did, and stay here again, as it’s just not worth it, no value for money. Several other lodges around with a better product, better food, and better service. The view is beautiful though.

Highly recommend this hotel. Extremely nice staff always making you feel welcomed. The breakfast buffet has a lot of options. The food was great with a lot of vegetarian dishes as well. And everywhere has the view of the watering hole, you never know who you’ll see out there. Beautiful hotel!

Beautiful Setting, Disappointing Stay

The hotel’s surroundings and restaurant setting are undeniably beautiful, creating a promising first impression. However, the condition of the rooms leaves much to be desired. From the perspective of the accommodations alone, this wouldn’t even qualify as a 3-star hotel.

On our first day, our room wasn’t cleaned at all. When we brought it to the staff’s attention, the cleaning lady arrived around 6 pm, clearly unhappy, and failed to restock basic necessities like shampoo or toilet paper.

The second day was even worse—housekeeping left the balcony door open, allowing a swarm of insects into our room, making it impossible to sleep.

Overall, while the price suggests an upscale four-star experience, the service and room quality barely meet the standards of a two-star establishment.

In general, we found Zimbabwe to be extremely expensive, with everything vastly overpriced. While the natural beauty is undeniable, we will not be returning. If we decide to visit this area again, we would opt for Zambia instead.

What an exceptional experience staying at The Elephant Camp! Carol, Gloria & all staff were extremely welcoming and caring. Can’t say enough about the comfortable & private rooms, exquisite meals, excursions and hospitality. An experience of a lifetime, including feeding the elephants, safari rides, trip to Victoria Falls with Lookout cafe and seeing all the wildlife in their environment. Don’t miss out, you won’t regret it! Stayed here for 3 nights and would recommend staying at least that long to appreciate this incredible property and staff.

Fantastic experience!! Loved the property...staff were wonderful in every aspect!! Close to the falls, with complimentary shuttle. The tour desk was great...we did a sunset cruise... Livingstone Island (The Devil's Pool... don't listen to the lies... completely safe... scary, but completely safe!)...and we did a helicopter ride. Don't miss the Boma for dinner...a must do!! I loved it all and would absolutely stay there again!

Loved the proximinty to Victoria Falls and ease of setting up round trip lodge transfers. Room over looking the watering hole as well as the restaurant and bar offered peaceful view and gorgeous sunsets for our two nights there. The herd of elephants, warthogs, crocs and many birds was a treat as well. See Grace for booking a sunset cruise or other activities.

We stayed 2 nights at the Lodge and 3 at the Club. Food and drinks were a good value for a resort as most everyplace we've been for the past month have been. The rooms are nicely decorated with the Club being more contemporary. The staff have all been great. My biggest negative was the sewer smell at the east end of the Club pool. Both days there was also a backhoe operating so maybe it was working on the problem. The game watering hole at the west end of the Lodge mostly has had Mirabu storks yet 8 giraffes were near it at dusk today. I'd stay here again if ever in Vic Falls again.

Stayed here after friend’s recommendation how great the hotel is and it lived up to the expectations. What was really exceptional for me was housekeeping cleaning the room during the day then coming at night to set the bed and nets for sleeping. The breakfast was 10/10 however i wish they were consistent with the communication of the start time as we thought breakfast started at 7 and there were persons already seated and having breakfast by 6:45. We couldve have a proper breakfast before our safari if we knew this. The drinks were great and the service was amazing. The view of drinks and meals of the animals at the watering hole was mind blowing - we saw elephants, giraffes and buffalos. The restaurant helped us booked majority of our activities which we couldn't appreciate them more for this.

Great setting for a lodge with a wilderness impression and empirical with the boarder of Zambezi National Park. Animals such as Giraffe, Elephants and Water Buffalo would gather morning and evening at the water hole that fronts the view of the dining area and most of the rooms that included a deck for viewing. Great Sunsets! The food was very good. Breakfast included in the stay. Beds were comfortable.

Love this place! The staff were amazing and friendly, there's a free shuttle to the falls, a really nice pool and a bar and restaurant where you can gaze out at the wildlife at the watering hole below. The design is very cool too, rustic in the best possible way, blends in well with the environment, still very comfortable but not overly precious. I look forward to returning.

Overall good stay, great staff and very close to wildlife viewing opportunities. Free shuttle into Victoria Falls was a nice benefit. The property is a little worn around the edges and the monkeys are definitely part of the experience - don't feed them, can be quite pesky! My biggest issue was that we set an airport pick-up and they didn't show up at the airport to pick us up - kind of a bummer. Recommend confirming with hotel multiple times to ensure they've got all info correct.

This place is fantastic and worth staying at for the view of the watering hole alone - you will see many animals and I saw many elephants at different times during the day!

All the hotel staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I'd like to give a special mention to Collen who went out of his way to make me feel at home and was very attentive as well as Chris and Caleb. Be it organising dinner and getting drinks, all were extremely good, as well as all the staff there.

I was at the hotel 15 years ago and nothing has changed apart from it being very very expensive for what you get. The main premise is that you pay to get a waterhole view, but Hwange Safari Lodge ( Not in VicFalls) has a watering hole and cost thousands less has more animals at the watering hole. At Vic Falls Safari Lodge you get lots of vultures and Storks during the day and a few Elephants at night. Watering hole is quite far so can hardly see them. The place has quite a few American tourists that love to tip. So the staff expect a tip. This is not Zimbabwe. Every aspect costs a lot of money here.. If you take a 1 minute taxi journey from hotel into town, that costs $10USD one way. They staff are not apologetic or would reduce the price. Its cheaper hiring a car top get around than use there taxi service. They have a shuttle bus but ends at 6pm. If you wanted to go to dinner you'd pay for transport. The food in the hotel is okay at best. Very limited menu of offering of a traditional menu. I've cooked better stuff at home. The breakfast is good with a lot of selection. For dinner I would advice eating out, unless slop is your thing. Staff are very friendly as is whole on Zimbabwe. Victoria falls Safari Lodge is very very overpriced for what you get. The rooms have not been modernised and toilets leak. Very dated and expensive. It's not a very child friendly place if you have a two year old. The swimming pools don't have a shallow end to stand or relax. Its dive in and out.

Stayed at the Lodge’s water hole facing room for 3 nights. The view of the watering hole and the African Bushveld from the room is incredible. It’s amazing to see wild animals congregate around the watering hole, especially at sunset! The staff here are some of the kindest I’ve interacted with. However, the room’s amenities are certainly starting to show their age. From the bed sheets and the firm bed, to the bath towels & toiletries, everything here is just slightly lower in quality compared to what you get at the Safari Club. Plus the rooms at the Safari Club are substantially more spacious, with a living room area and a bath tub. But if the priority is to see the animals at the watering hole from the comfort of the room, then certainly stay at the Lodge’s watering hole facing rooms. Also, note that the rooms here and at the Safari Club don’t come with a television (who needs a TV in a place like this anyway?). So bring other sources of entertainment to while your time here.

This hotel is absolutely wonderful. A truly authentic African safari experience. The staff were without exception extremely friendly and helpful and made our stay so enjoyable. We had a superb waterhole view room which was very comfortable. The WiFi is very good which makes uploading all our amazing photos and videos of Victoria Falls a breeze. The food is delicious, and the restaurant has an amazing view over the national park, where you can watch wild animals while having breakfast.

Had a great stay here. Staff is amazing and go the extra mile. Our original departure fight was cancelled due to Covid. We were having difficulties contacting the airlines to get rescheduled. The front desk guy had a friend that worked across from the airlines office in town, called and asked him to walk over to the office and hand them the phone. That started the process of rescheduling which took some days but we got out on time. He and the other front desk worker (Patience) checked with us everyday until the issue was resolved. Beyond these two excellent employees, everyone we interacted with was delightful - John the Porter, Denis the pool bar waiter, Victor the shuttle driver, the activities concierge, wait staff at the Club restaurant.

The room was great. Our room was overlooking the watering hole. The shower had incredible water pressure and the bed was super comfortable and AC was ice cold. Only complaint is that I was there was a little more space. With 2 large check-in luggage, maneuvering around was hard.

The lodge is a 5-10 min drive to the city area. You have to rely on the shuttle service to get you there and it runs every 2-3 hours. 4 useful stops with the last bring Victoria Falls. It worked perfectly fine for our schedule

Beautiful resort. Staff is very friendly. View of water hole from room and bar/restaurant is amazing. I was there during a more rainy period, but still saw buffalos, giraffe and zebras at the water hole. Food for breakfast and dinner is good. They turn down your room in the evening and put the mosquito net up (there are a lot of insects there, so definitely needed) and put a refilled bottle of water next to the bed. Each hour there’s a free shuttle to the town/falls, this is a 10 min ride. This resort with the combination of the beautiful water falls made it a great part of my Africa trip.

Wonderful experience seeing 19 elephants come down to the waterhole in the early morning and then as we are eating dinner the waitress comes over and points out a giraffe a 1/2 mile back in the forest. The daily vulture feeding frenzy was amazing to see and very informative.

The lodge itself was open air with no air conditioning, but the rooms had air conditioning. Fortunately this was not mosquito season. Everything was over priced. A hamburger was $18. When I tried to ask for bottled water to take hiking, they don't have any. They only have water in glass bottles. We had to pay $20 for a cab to take us into town and back to get 4 bottles of water. Later someone told me they have a few at the bar they could have sold me. As far as our room, it was clean but the bed and pillows were hard. Their breakfast buffet was amazing though!

Unfortunate experience. Good have been good as excellent location and grounds by a lovely water hole. But we were given a mosquito invested room. I was told this was the best available room. Holes in the mosquito net meant we had multiple bites. Checked out the next day as we were too tired and sick to move in the middle of the night. We were told the next day after we booked a room at another hotel they did have a better fumigated room available. Really not acceptable in any way. Of course they refused to refund our next nights stay.

price wise sweet Mary mother of god but but when the sun is setting and elephants come marching that price becomes nothing but a distant memory

After a 12 day camping safari I booked for one night of luxury and wasnt disappointed.

The check in was quick and stsff was professional and friendly. Even thlugh I arrived a few hpurs before check in, they had my room ready aftet a 10 min wait.

The property is in a very charming location. It must be noted that it’s key selling feature of rooms over looking the waterhole could possibly disappoint guests as there is no mentioning of how far that actually is.

If you are booking this hotel expecting to see game (animals) then you will be disappointed especially if you don’t have very good binoculars. Best to go on a proper safari. However, the views, landscape, sunrise and sunsets are beautiful here.

The staff are friendly, helpful and made my stay very comfortable.

The down side were:

- the bed throw was very filthy and should have been put in the recycling bin a long time ago rather than being used.

- The bed side lamps don’t work and are not connected to the mains.

- The evening restaurant menu was the same each night.

- The cold breakfast was limiting and 95% of it was of high sugar content, white bread and pastries.

- The rooms can do with being refreshed and updated. It’s a great property and location with a huge potential of having repeat visitors.

A few updates and attention to detail would make it a very competitive hotel in the area.

Beautifully situated over a water hole where animals really come to drink. Exquisite view!!Great rooms. Although the air conditioning device needs urgent replacement. Loud inefficient and put in a wrong point in the room. Breakfast was nice, the restaurants just ok. Beds were confi, an open veranda overlooking the view and the waterhole. Very peaceful!!

Beautiful hotel staff so friendly helpful and welcoming. Nothing felt too much trouble. But be wary Zimbabwe relying on US dollar makes it v expensive and there is a major shortage of cash in the country. Make sure you pay as much as possible in advance

I didn't want to leave!

Totally amazing! I loved everything about the Safari Lodge, it’s beautiful architecture, the setting, vast view of the bush and watering hole where I saw elephants, and every single person I encountered on their staff seemed to embody open hearted joy and kindness. The food was fantastic And I’m hard to please! Their tour office made the excellent and reasonably priced tours easy to access. I can still Feel the happiness I found There!

Too Expensive for what it actually is!

This hotel is at best a three star hotel. Nothing in it justifies the exhorbitant prices being charged. My husband and me thought we were going to be at a luxury hotel, but that was not the case. neither the room, location, amenities, service, etc. justifies the rate they are charging. We felt gouged, specially when our confirmation said minibar was included and it was not honored by the hotel, nor by hotels.com. We are very disappointed and probably will never use hotels.com again. Local beer was $6.00, wines were over $30.00 a bottle and $8.00 plus a glass, which for Africa is unheard of. Food was terribly expensive too. Location is far from town, so you are their prisoner. The only good things I can say about this hotel is: 1. Breakfast was good 2. Wifi was good. The rest was downright disappointing. Will never be back.

All around fantastic lodge.

Great service, great food, fantastic watering hole with constant activity, vultures amazing. Saw hyena at night while dining up one deck. Pool was charming but cold! great shuttle into town. Quiet location surrounded by nature. Great breakfast too. The only thing I’d suggest-is cleaning shower better.
