I had some concerns with booking this property because of mixed reviews. I will say that I was pleased overall with our stay. The room was clean and good sized. The bed was comfortable. All the utilities worked ok but the air conditioning did seem a bit weak at times.

However a couple of problems did detract from our stay.

When I book a hotel on Expedia they advertise that all taxes and fees are included. However, there is a $35 per day \"destination fee\" that is collected at this property. So when you see a price quoted by Expedia, add that to the bill. I wish they would be more transparent with the pricing right up front.

There was a problem during our stay with the parking situation. There was a large conference going on for part of the time we were there so when we returned after our daytime activities there were no self park spaces left anywhere. We ended up parking on the street for a while until some cars cleared out of the lot. I contacted the management but all they could offer was an apology for the inconvenience. They need to do a better job at managing the parking lot so that hotel guests have a place to park at all times. After all, that is part of the $35 daily fee.

The pool was nice but if it's heated they don't heat it very much. The water was pretty cold. Also, it's only open from 11 - 5.

This hotel is ancient and falling apart, the staff are trying their best but its just not possible to have a nice stay there when things are not functioning . Our room door battery ran out and had to be fixed mid stay resulting in us walking to the front desk numerous times. The only way to get to your room/parking was through a narrow driveway which was blocked off most of the time since the delivery dock is right there too. They also have a convention center and that resulted in zero parking anywhere, they finally offered us free valet. The housekeeping cleaned out room, but didn't clean the shower/bathroom... just weird mishaps throughout for a property that has been around so so long. I would never stay here again.

The property is very clean, everyone working at this property goes above and beyond to make your stay amazing!! The hotel is 5 minutes from downtown. The rooms are a nice size. Make sure to ask what your view is from the room when you are checking in. They have a nice coffee bar you can get breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Also a nice bar and restaurant you can do a sit down meal, has a beautiful outdoor patio with fireplaces as well. There is also a small sports bar at the front of the hotel. The pool is beautiful and has several covered sitting areas and Cabanas that are FREE!!! First come first serve. We had a very nice relaxing time here. Would highly recommend!! Would definitely stay here again!

We had such a nice experience at Riviera the amenities were amazing and plenty! The spa was also so relaxing and a wonderful experience. The room was clean, well kept, and the washroom was amazing in our suite! We had housekeeping come everyday and were always fully supplied in our room with everything we need including water. Would definitely recommend! I almost didn’t book this place because of some of the negative comments but that was not our experience at all when we stayed.

Overall a great experience at an updated and outstanding location! Subtracted one star because we had a random Wasp Nest incident at our room. Opened up our balcony and a wasp flew in which led us to discover a small nest hidden in the upper tracks of the sliding door. The staff was quick to respond and take care of it, but experiencing that as soon as we arrived was a bummer. We were running late to our dinner date and had to take care of that beforehand so it kind of affected the excitement and mood. But overall a pleasant experience — dog friendly was a plus!

Courteous staff. On-site restaurant is trying to be more high end than what it is.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. Our room could use a little maintenance (faucets needed tightening, door hinge fell off of cabinet) but nothing that impacted our stay or use.
Finally… it was the Hunger Games trying to get a towel at the pool. They were not prepared for a busy Valentines weekend at the pool.
None of the above overly impacted our experience and we enjoyed our stay and would probably stay here again.

This hotel is perfect, it is safe, clean, big rooms and staff here goes the extra mile. I would recommend to anyone, it has resort amenities but still feel comfortable and not crowded. I was sick and went to the hospital they took care of my dog, I travel a lot and am impressed by how they helped me.

They are not very accommodating for team events or large bookings. We generally have a team dinner/gathering at every hotel we go to. Here, we were not allowed to bring snacks and drinks for our teams and use the public facilities even though they're huge. They forced us to either use their caterers at about $50 per person or not have any get together.

The rooms were nice and they were clean. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The problems I had was 1. the shampoo/conditioner bottles were empty, 2. We requested maintenance in the evening hours because our toilet was clogged. The office said maintenance was not available until the next morning. We literally asked for a plunger so we can plunge the toilet ourselves, but the office said that the maintenance staff had the keys to the maintenance room and everything was locked. And still, we had to call next morning at 10a.m. to remind them of the clogged toilet, 3. The outside landscaping was dry looking and ugly. This hotel was not appealing to the eye on the outside. The inside of the hotel was surprisingly nice.

Second night multiple guests checked in near our room screaming, slamming doors, that went on until almost 2 in the morning though security was called twice. I appreciate security trying, but it made for a rough night. Pool is very nice, great staff at bar... this visit the music at the pool during the afternoon was not the best for the crowd that was there. Reggaeton all afternoon just didn't see appropriate for the crowd. Was here 4 weeks ago for 4 days and this was not the case. We come here often and enjoy the pool, but the very specific music choice made it difficult to enjoy.

Our stay was very disappointing, primarily due to poor customer service and lack of follow-through. We were traveling with our one-year-old and were told at check-in that no pack-and-play or crib was available, which meant our child had to sleep between us -- an unsafe and extremely uncomfortable situation that resulted in no sleep. There were also several basic room issues (no soap in the bathroom, keys to room not working, and other minor issues) that added to the frustration.
I contacted the hotel afterward to address these concerns and received an apology with a promise that a manager would follow up, but no one ever did -- even after a second email weeks later. I held off on leaving a public review hoping for some resolution, but the silence says a lot. We will not be returning.

I booked this resort weeks in advance for New Year’s Eve through January 2nd and received a confirmed 4:00 PM check-in time. I arrived at the property around 5:00 PM and waited 45 minutes just to speak with a front desk staff member. When I finally reached someone, I was told my room was not ready and to wait an additional 20 minutes.

That 20 minutes turned into over an hour, with no updates or communication. By 7:00 PM, there was still no room available. The front desk staff offered no real explanation, no alternatives, and no solutions, simply stating that the hotel was fully booked and they could not move me to another room.

By 8:00 PM, after waiting hours past the confirmed check-in time with no resolution, I was forced to book a room at a completely different resort on one of the busiest nights of the year.

This was extremely frustrating, unprofessional, and unacceptable—especially given the advance booking and confirmation. I later learned I was not the only guest experiencing this issue.

Customer beware. If you’re booking for an important date or holiday, be prepared for the possibility that your confirmed room may not actually be available.

We stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly kind and friendly, always greeting us whenever we passed by. The pool and hot tub were easy to find, and we loved being able to enjoy a swim, even during Christmas when the temperatures dropped. It’s also pet-friendly, which was a big plus for us. We would definitely recommend this place.

Oh last thing, I loved that I was able to text the concierge whenever I had a question versus calling or going to the front desk. This was a big plus for us!

Check in was the worst experience I’ve ever encountered. Long lines, 45 minute wait, of very unhappy people trying to check into their rooms and the hotel had nothing available. We arrived at 1 pm and we were not provided a room until 6 pm. Consistent lies that our room would be available soon.

Everyone I talked to in line was very disappointed as the evening was NYE.

Luckily, the room we got was better than expected. But they need to prepare better for a holiday weekend.

We checked in on 12/28 with our friends and waited in line for over an hour for our room keys. We went to the heated pool, but the water temperature was completely inadequate and became colder and colder, as if the heating had stopped.
No hot water in our room. Moreover, the heater was out of order. We had to sleep wearing our jackets.
At the same time, our friends’ room doesn't have hot water either. They informed the hotel and were told they would be notified once the issue was fixed, but they never received any notification and the water remained cold.
The next morning I called the front desk to report that we had no heat and no hot water. The staff member simply told me that their engineer would not start work until 8am and asked me to call back later. I explained that we had travel plans and would not be staying in the room to deal with these issues, but she only told me to call again later to request repairs.
That evening, when we returned to the hotel, I immediately went to the front desk requesting a room change.The staff reassigned a room to us. When we carried all our luggages and walked all the way from building 4 to building 1, only to find that room had only one bed. I had to go back to the front desk AGAIN and that indifferent staff told me there's no two bed room left, but a few moment later, she assigned me a two bed room and that room didn't have hot water either. Terrible experience. Don't recommend this property.

Be aware of longgg check in times. We arrived just after 4pm, and there was a long line of guests waiting to check in. After nearly an hour in line, we were told the room wasn't ready and we would be notified when it was. We decided to leave the property to get food and It was less than an hour later we were told our room was available. When we returned we sat in another long line for over an hour to get the key. In all it was roughly 4 hours from when we first arrived that we were able to get into our room. I politely asked for a food/drink/spa (anything) voucher to ease the pain of waiting for that time but was turned down an told if it was given to us then everyone else would request it as well. Which would be completely acceptable given all the other guests dealing with the same issue. This was the biggest issue I had during this trip, everything else was good but unfortunately the experience was already soured from the start.

It took over an hour to check in and the line didn’t get any shorter when we finished. There were only two workers checking guests in but 4 valets. We were told our breakfast was included but were not given vouchers. The whole place is in need of a deep renovation because the pictures are lowkey a catfish. The tub floors were painted, the water didn’t get hot, and bubbled paint in the bathroom. This was a 2 star hotel at best. The only thing that isn’t run down is the lobby, bar, and cafe. One of the buildings had clear signs there was a major leak that’s been ignored. The Google Cast in both our rooms wouldn’t connect and we were unable to turn the brightness down. The balcony light stays on all night and you can see it illuminating through the blackout curtains. My friends room had dirty hands marks all over the wall. Lastly, they have many QR codes to leave a review or tip but they’re restricted with the info you can leave.

The minute we got there we were put into a \" dirty\" not made up room where the shower still had all hair in the tub.
2 days we did not receive cleaning service with the excuse that we had at 4:30 pm the do not disturb sign on. For sure I don't want to be disturbed at 4:30 pm when I just got back from a long day in the city and want to finally relax in my room! The second time I had the please make up the room sign on and no one came by.
The AC was not working at night and we were hot at 78 degrees at night...
In addition they had no parfaits or croissants to offer for breakfast in the cafe. The pastries were shown in the vitrine but did not offer them.
The pools and jacuzzi were all neglected, tiles dirty.
The whole hotel is very old. The only thing they said when checking out was\" we are sorry\" that was it.
I cannot recommend this hotel at all and would never go back there!

• Promised a garden-view room — waited nearly 2 hours and then told it was not available
• Room had several maintenance failures:
– No hot water (even after running for 10+ minutes)
– Both sinks clogged
– Chromecast not working
– TV remote barely functional
• Room amenities extremely inadequate:
– Only one towel and one plastic cup provided for two guests
• Lights shut off automatically and frequently, creating inconvenience
• The hotel offered only a breakfast voucher despite the issues

Due to the unacceptable experience and poor room conditions, we checked out early on the second day and did not stay the full reservation.
Please save your money and do not even consider this hotel.

This is a basically good place. Pluses: aesthetically pleasing, soft bed, decent shower, decent rates. Restaurant food was tasty if limited and service was good. Wasn’t able to take advantage of the spa or other facilities so can’t speak to those. Minuses: sheets weren’t cotton and felt stuffy, AC worked but was unable to point towards the bed so could feel it everywhere other than there, and bathtub drain kept unsticking so kept draining - aka older infrastructure. The room was very nice and the property was good. The check-in experience was absolutely terrible; we stood in line for over an hour in their lobby. Customers ahead of us all seemed to have some type of problem and/or issue with their reservation.
Our room was very nice but we had no “hot” water and our room did not have major d service during the time that we were here. They came to our room and offered to provide service at 6 pm but we had already obtained fresh linen on our own from their cart. We called the front desk about the hot water but no “engineer “ ever arrived to adjust the settings. At this point we will probably forego morning showers because they are unbearable for us. We tried calling multiple times but no one would answer… very disappointed in the service from this property.

The only thing I like is a swimming pool. Other things contain area for improvement, however hotel has great potential

I booked this hotel to spend Christmas vacation with my family, expecting a welcoming and family-friendly environment. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.

The staff showed a complete lack of respect, especially toward children. I personally witnessed employees yelling at kids in a very aggressive and unacceptable way. I have a 10-year-old child, and there is even a photo of him simply playing with his friends, yet the children looked genuinely scared, as if they were being treated like they were doing something wrong.

This behavior is completely unacceptable, especially during a holiday season that is supposed to be joyful and relaxing. No child should feel afraid in a hotel that claims to welcome families.

I do not recommend this hotel to anyone traveling with children. Management seriously needs to train their staff on basic respect, professionalism, and how to treat families.

The staff was aggressive especially the security. We were a youth group sitting in the lobby and out of nowhere the security ran and tried kicking us out almost like they were going to hit us. The bathrooms didn’t have locks. The staff was super unfriendly and kept trying to cause fights.
