They didn’t tell us the pool was completely closed for the day and that there was a private party that was anything but kid friendly…. It was a nice room but we really didn’t get to enjoy it with the party noise. We are not old squares! We came to relaxed by the pool. That was our intention for renting

Honestly staff was good, property was shutting down for a remodel so I get it but! They did not disclose a there was a $35 destination fee per day, last I checked in California that violates SB 478 about hidden fees, finally when I receive my receipt it doesn’t state how much I paid? Originally this was booked for $638 and some change and on arrival I paid an additional $300.00 for what? A deposit? Front desk didn’t state that, my receipt shows no balance paid? I don’t understand.

Our stay started with a frustrating two-hour delay at check-in, and the hotel provided no updates. We had to keep returning to the front desk every 15 minutes just to get information.
We were also told our destination fee would be refunded because of the inconvenience, but after more than a week nothing had been processed. I had to call and follow up myself before the refund was finally issued.
The only positive part of the experience was that the front desk staff were polite.

Place was convenient to restaurants/bars in the Palm Springs area. Parking was not great especially if you came back after 10pm. Lots of people in the pool - kind of dirty. It was great that they had 2 additional pools separate which was good for kids.

We have stayed at this property in the past when it had different management. The quality of the resort has definitely gone downhill. While we were staying there we found out that they were getting ready to shut down in about a week for a major renovation. That’s all well and good but you could tell that no one was going the extra mile for guests anymore at this point. The entire property just seemed dirty. Our room was clean enough but the pool facilities were not clean. The pool furniture was very dirty. We had a package with breakfast and when we went to breakfast on the first day during normal hours they told us they couldn’t seat us for another 45 minutes because the kitchen staff needed to catch up and that they were running out of food. We were there around 9:30am in the middle of breakfast service and it was a holiday weekend. How do you not plan for this??? We did eventually get seated but the food took forever and the quality was horrible. The food that came out was not what was described on the menu. Eggs Benedict that has grocery store wheat bread as a substitute for a sourdough English muffin. It was so bad we didn’t even use our voucher for the next day. We wanted our room cleaned and fresh towels while we were at the pool that day. We called housekeeping 3 times to get this done and no one ever came. For the entire stay it just seemed that the staff was already done and checked out. It was really a weird vibe this time. I really hope the renovation brings life!

Our experience was so so. We decided to spend our 2 year wedding anni with our 6 month old baby at the Riviera Resort. Our check in was at 4pm and our room wasn’t ready until 6:30pm. That already was not a great start to our vacation. On top of that, we booked the premium room with a tub and staff was not able to get a tub stopper to take a bath until the next day. The tub was the whole reason we booked that room, so that was a bummer. They also limit the amount of towels to 1 towel per person at the pools. Lastly, there was a large bug in our room that appeared to be some sort of caterpillar or worm. It was big enough I saw it crawling on the bathroom floor from the bed. It made the room feel less clean and uncomfortable.

Staff were friendly and helpful overall. It was just the delay on the tub stopper that was inconvenient, along with the large bug in the bathroom that affected our overall experience.

I used to love this resort! It has completely gone downhill. Our room had a leaky faucet and little bugs in the bathroom. It took over 24 hours for maintenance to come out. Housekeeping never cleaned our room. I had to contact them several times for fresh towels, toilet paper, body wash, etc. I had to personally empty our trash cans as they were filling up. On Saturday the main pool was completely closed to guest for a private event. The smaller pool was open, but it was packed trash everywhere. No pool towels no staff. The restaurant used to be delicious. Now the menu is limited and makes no sense. I’m not sure if this resort is closing, but it sure felt like it. They’re grabbing go café was very limited as well. I needed milk and the entire property was sold out. Crazy?! They are understaffed overworked, and checked out. We will not go back.

Wasn’t notified until day of arrival that the main pool closed bc the hotel rented it out to a private party on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. They were “sorry” and had all guests use their other tiny pool. U can imagine how relaxing that was! So basically the property made profit on guests who paid to what we thought was access to all pools and to a private party. The resort offered no comps for the inconvenience. Dirty rugs throughout. Leaking shower. Room fridge that froze all my food. Maybe they just gave up since it is closing soon for renovations.

We were told the day of there was a private event and that the main pool was going to be closed for a day without no prior notice, Then had an ant infestation in our room and had to change rooms. I understand the hotel is going to be under renovations soon but still the whole weekend was very stressful.

I DO NOT recommend staying here at all. We checked in yesterday for a one night stay. We came from The Westin in Palm Desert, wanting to spend the last day in Palm Springs. I booked through here and the reviews weren’t bad. The room was spacious and nice, but noticed some things. There was a dark stain on the chair in our room, a stain on the bed sheet (also no blankets given, only sheets), the shower water pressure wasn’t great and also kept stopping during my shower. One of the sinks had what looked like throw up residue on the sink handle and the sink backed up while brushing my teeth. Also, walls are PAPER THIN, didn't realize the door in our living room was where the restroom is for the room to our right. You could hear EVERYTHING. The worst part of this trip were the people next to us. It's 8pm and this man was yelling outside the door that someone stole his phone, continued to bang on our door cussing and yelling. This went on for about 15 minutes before I finally called security. This helped a bit, but he continued to be loud for a while longer then eventually stopped. My family and I did not feel safe and considered leaving to another hotel. I informed the front desk about what happened and they ended up giving us bfast vouchers AFTER I had to ask since all she was going to do was waive a $30 dollar resort fee. There are so many other places to stay, skip this one!

Evidently they are planning a remodel. They had no bar service or restaurants open on the property. The grounds were unkept and dirty. I was really disappointed because I stay here several times a year. The GM is amazing and the staff was trying their best. New owners made a bad decision to go bare minimum for the guests paying to stay on the property. I hope they come back better than ever.

As a single mom traveling with my 10-year-old son over a holiday weekend, I was surprised to learn at check-in that the hotel pool had been reserved for a private adults-only event 🌈 Unfortunately, this meant we had to look for another hotel last minute, when prices were significantly higher due to the holiday.

I completely respect that hotels host private events for different communities and occasions. However, I do believe guests — especially families traveling with children — should be informed about major facility closures or adult-only events in advance so they can make an informed decision before arriving.

A little more transparency and communication would have made a big difference in our experience

We stayed for 2 nites. The resort is beautiful. Our room was by the pool. Was disappointing to walk in and found just 2 bath towels in the bathroom, but no hand or face towels. I asked housekeeping in the hallway but she was limited in what she had. Because of where our room was we could not sit outside our room and enjoy the sun like the other rooms

I booked two rooms, 8213 & 8214
for two days because we were evacuated from our home because of the
Garden Grove toxic spill. I usually don’t write bad reviews unless they are bad!
I spent $1300 to get away from the toxic spill ,thinking we could get far away to Palm Springs while this horrible toxic situation is resolved, well never could get clean towels,I called housekeeping several times and they never answered! I called the front desk and they didn’t answer. To top it off they rented out the main pool to someone so none of the guests could use the pool!!!! Terrible !! We went to the small pool and the whole resort was in the only pool available, pool bottom was slimy cups all over the pool floor area, it was a mess…. If you plan on going to Palm Springs, I would try and find a different resort!!!! Refund my money!!!!!

Would not recommend. Room itself was nice, but the hallways and buildings were run down and musty. Paint peeling off the walls, carpets look like they’ve never been cleaned. Bathrooms in the hotel looked like they’ve came out of a motel 6…. Pretty disappointing for a “resort”. Worst part of the trip was the amenities. They shut down the main pool with no notice, no heads up online, just day of closure ALL day for a “private party” that cost $50 to go to. Pretty disappointing that we paid more to be at this hotel over Memorial Day weekend with only half of the amenities available. The one pool that was open was extremely overcrowded with no towels available. Would not recommend, this hotel does not value the experience of its guest and clearly cuts corners and sells out to make $$ rather than making choices for the greater good of its clients.

Overall, I had a relaxing and pleasant stay at this hotel. Check-in and check-out were both smooth and easy, and the bellman was especially helpful throughout our stay. I also really appreciated the housekeeping staff — the rooms were consistently kept clean, and it was always nice coming back to freshly made bedding and restocked clean towels.
The surrounding area was also a huge plus, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby to visit and enjoy. The pool was refreshing and added a nice touch to our stay as well.
That said, there were a few downsides. The pool curfew being at 10 PM felt a bit early, especially for a resort-style stay. Some of the room features also felt outdated, and the hairdryer definitely needs replacing. I was also disappointed that guests were not informed ahead of time that two out of the three pools would be closed due to an event during our stay. In addition, the property phones and listed phone numbers were not working, which was frustrating when trying to contact the front desk.
Despite a few inconveniences, I would stay here again for a casual and relaxing getaway. As well as trying out the spa.:)

They are going through new ownership and will be renovating the hotel, so I will give them some grace. It was not the best hotel stay, shower had no pressure, room smelt weird had to relocate to another room. The TV wasn’t working the A/C was running poorly. We made it work as we were getting ready for prom and the staff was super sweet and more then exceptional letting us check in early and gifting us complimentary breakfast that was super delicious. I do love the property it has great potential. I hope the renovation give it new life.

As soon as we entered the room, there was a large dead mosquito stuck to the ceiling. There were also hairs on the bed sheets, and strange hairs stuck inside the shower booth, which made the room feel unclean overall.

The toilet clogged frequently, which was very inconvenient. In addition, the pool in front of the room was closed for an event, so we couldn’t use it. When we went there again the next morning right after it opened, the pool water was still very dirty and disappointing.

Overall, the cleanliness and maintenance of the room and facilities did not meet expectations.

Location is very convenient.
Property is large, with many buildings. Getting to your room and walking the property can be a trek and can easily get turned around.
Our room had a broken sliding door, that would not lock. It was extremely windy our first night and wind was knocking the door all night. Maintenance came in the next day to \"fix\" the problem.
Carpets are old and stained. Property could use some touch ups.

This was a very large comfortable room with a huge tub and separate shower area. Loved having a back patio and chairs under a grapefruit tree close to the huge pool. Coffee shop in the morning is convenient and has high quality coffee. Food by the pool was better than expected.
Walking distance to some great restaurants, too. Well
located resort overall. All staff was wonderful and helpful. Don’t leave things by the pool - we had a pair of sneakers stolen that were not recovered.
But we loved the place and will be back. It’s been laid back and a reasonable price - this is not a fancy or stylish place but great for families and very comfortable/convenient and super welcoming to out two lovely poodles.

Upon entry the hotel is adorable. I loved the vintage feel and decor of the main tower. Our room was a nice size, however there was standing water in the bathtub and false eyelashes stuck on the mirror. The front desk was helpful and upon request moved me into a new room. Sadly the outlets in the bathroom and on the night stand did not work. Getting ready for a night out was challenging. Also, we spent the afternoon at the oasis pool. We were told a staff member would bring pool towels out to guests. Sadly we never received any pool towels after spending 2+ hours at the pool.

We've been staying here for 10 years now and find it to be the best resort for the price with having a \"resort\" atmosphere. I understand they are undergoing a much needed renovation in 2026, so we look forward to our next visit to enjoy the upgrades. Staff is always wonderful and very accommodating. Its a bit of a walk to the main strip, but we enjoy getting in our steps in the beautiful PS sunshine.

We had requested ADAcompliant lodgings. The hotel accesses present but were difficult to use for anyone not able to climb stairs. When we decided to request early checkout and a refund of the unused balance, management was agreeable and issued a refund. The staff are all cordial and helpful and other than accessibility issues, the stay was pleasant.
The $25 fee for breakfast for two is a bargain as the quality was that of a first class dining room and had great service.

The manager told us they have a remodeling scheduled for June, 2026 which will remedy the access issues. we plan to return when it is completed.

It was a roof above our heads that’s for sure. Our stay started with hiccups. We understand that Coachella is a big event but that should also anticipate their readiness when it comes to having rooms ready when guest arrive for a 4pm check in. For our time I guess someone thought it would be great to book not only for Coachella but another group booking at the same time, causing many delays. I’m not going to take away from the staff being friendly because they really were and I do not blame them for upper management flaws in all this, but upon check in not only were rooms not ready but to compensate they had drinks and cheese and crackers to offer. I was taken back a bit because, what do you mean that’s how we’re gonna take care of this? Later because of my comment on Expedia they did offer to take resort fees off (gotta take a look and see if they did). Hotel rooms are cute however maintenance has to get in there. Bathroom door frame was cracked that you had to physically lift the door in order to close it and be able to use the toilet and shower, I do have pictures and video of it. Honestly I didn’t want to give anyone any more complaints at that point since we were exhausted from the drive from Vegas.
Keep in mind you can hear everything from the hallways as if the guest walking by as if the guest was also in your room. So sound proof doors didn’t feel like were a thing there. Around the lobby they do have all inclusive restrooms which is a plus when having many guest.

The property is older and some parts of it are run down (like the pillows of the pool cabanas), but our family of 4 had a relaxing time spending 3 nights here. The price was inflated because of Cochella, so it was probably not worth $399 per night for 2 queen beds. There wasn't much ventilation in the bathroom, so it got kind of musty in there and the property is so massive it was a long walk to the lobby. I would recommend if you can get the regular rate ($135/night) and not have to pay up during high season. My husband had a massage at the spa ($165 for 1 hr) and said it was great. The workout room was really nice and we intended to use the free bikes but never did.

Great place to stay in Palm Springs! Close to the airport which was such a luxury. It is also close to the downtown area! Great views all around the area as well. Friendly staff and great rooms as well. The beds were comfortable and the washrooms were so spacious. Would highly recommend.

As seniors we missed a few things. 1. Access to an elevator to our second floor room,
2. parking lot was a ways from our room, 3. We were not able to access either of the 2 restaurants on the property. We were told this was due to a large group of people that were staying there. 4. We reported an inability to get hot water in our shower. ( We were however, given a full Resort fee stay discount for this),

Hallway carpets were filthy, shower water pressure was low, hot water wasn’t available the first night, hotel was fully booked for a private event and restaurant was not available for general party even though breakfast was included. The beds were comfortable but rooms outdated. Overall will never return back to the hotel. Staff were nice.

This hotel is pretty rundown. I heard they’re changing hands and maybe they’ve taken the foot off the gas, there’s a “bare bones” feeling. Not a ton of staff around. No food offerings to speak of. In fact we stayed there right before Passover and the whole hotel was switching over to kosher so they said the food offerings would be extremely limited because of this. I’m all for having kosher options but when the whole hotel switches it’s kind of weird. They even came to our room to ask if they could take our Kureig because I guess it’s not kosher? And we weren’t really using it so we let them, but it’s a strange request for a hotel to put on a guest. Also they checked us in two hours late (on a 4pm check in!!) so yeah, not the greatest experience.

I recently stayed at this hotel to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I had hoped for such a special occasion. One of the main reasons I chose this property was for its on-site dining and bar options, which were advertised as key amenities. I was really looking forward to a convenient, relaxing celebration without having to leave the hotel.

However, upon arrival, I discovered that all of the hotel’s bars and restaurants were closed due to a private kosher event—and there had been no prior notice given to guests. This was incredibly disappointing, especially given the reason for our stay. What was supposed to be a special, stress-free birthday celebration quickly turned into a scramble to find last-minute dining options elsewhere.

This lack of communication was both frustrating and inconvenient. After a long day, the last thing we wanted to do was leave the hotel to search for food and drinks. It completely disrupted the plans I had in mind for celebrating my boyfriend.

While I respect the hotel’s decision to host private events and accommodate specific dietary or cultural needs, it should not come at the expense of other guests’ experiences—especially without any advance warning. A simple notification before arrival or at the time of booking would have made a huge difference.

Our stay at Riviera Palm Springs started with a very frustrating check-in experience. We arrived at 3:30 PM, just before the 4:00 PM check-in, and were told our room would be ready in 40 minutes. We agreed to wait. After more than an hour with no update, I returned to the front desk and was simply asked if I received a text. When I said no, I was told the room was still not ready—no apology, no explanation, and no effort to assist.

I even offered to take any available room just to avoid waiting longer, but there was no urgency or proper accommodation. This is unacceptable, especially since we booked in advance. With an 11:00 AM check-out, there is ample time to prepare rooms.

When we were finally given a room, it had a very poor view that did not match expectations. I have video proof.

The lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service was disappointing. I am requesting a partial refund or compensation for this experience.
