It was a roof above our heads that’s for sure. Our stay started with hiccups. We understand that Coachella is a big event but that should also anticipate their readiness when it comes to having rooms ready when guest arrive for a 4pm check in. For our time I guess someone thought it would be great to book not only for Coachella but another group booking at the same time, causing many delays. I’m not going to take away from the staff being friendly because they really were and I do not blame them for upper management flaws in all this, but upon check in not only were rooms not ready but to compensate they had drinks and cheese and crackers to offer. I was taken back a bit because, what do you mean that’s how we’re gonna take care of this? Later because of my comment on Expedia they did offer to take resort fees off (gotta take a look and see if they did). Hotel rooms are cute however maintenance has to get in there. Bathroom door frame was cracked that you had to physically lift the door in order to close it and be able to use the toilet and shower, I do have pictures and video of it. Honestly I didn’t want to give anyone any more complaints at that point since we were exhausted from the drive from Vegas.
Keep in mind you can hear everything from the hallways as if the guest walking by as if the guest was also in your room. So sound proof doors didn’t feel like were a thing there. Around the lobby they do have all inclusive restrooms which is a plus when having many guest.

Amazing!! I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. It was such an amazing stay, the room was so beautiful and clean. The hotel staff was amazing. The cafe had such great food. Sad we didn’t have enough time to go to the pool, but it looked so nice. If I’m ever in Palm Springs again, I will definitely be booking here again. Thank you!

The property is older and some parts of it are run down (like the pillows of the pool cabanas), but our family of 4 had a relaxing time spending 3 nights here. The price was inflated because of Cochella, so it was probably not worth $399 per night for 2 queen beds. There wasn't much ventilation in the bathroom, so it got kind of musty in there and the property is so massive it was a long walk to the lobby. I would recommend if you can get the regular rate ($135/night) and not have to pay up during high season. My husband had a massage at the spa ($165 for 1 hr) and said it was great. The workout room was really nice and we intended to use the free bikes but never did.

Great place to stay in Palm Springs! Close to the airport which was such a luxury. It is also close to the downtown area! Great views all around the area as well. Friendly staff and great rooms as well. The beds were comfortable and the washrooms were so spacious. Would highly recommend.

As seniors we missed a few things. 1. Access to an elevator to our second floor room,
2. parking lot was a ways from our room, 3. We were not able to access either of the 2 restaurants on the property. We were told this was due to a large group of people that were staying there. 4. We reported an inability to get hot water in our shower. ( We were however, given a full Resort fee stay discount for this),

Hallway carpets were filthy, shower water pressure was low, hot water wasn’t available the first night, hotel was fully booked for a private event and restaurant was not available for general party even though breakfast was included. The beds were comfortable but rooms outdated. Overall will never return back to the hotel. Staff were nice.

This hotel is pretty rundown. I heard they’re changing hands and maybe they’ve taken the foot off the gas, there’s a “bare bones” feeling. Not a ton of staff around. No food offerings to speak of. In fact we stayed there right before Passover and the whole hotel was switching over to kosher so they said the food offerings would be extremely limited because of this. I’m all for having kosher options but when the whole hotel switches it’s kind of weird. They even came to our room to ask if they could take our Kureig because I guess it’s not kosher? And we weren’t really using it so we let them, but it’s a strange request for a hotel to put on a guest. Also they checked us in two hours late (on a 4pm check in!!) so yeah, not the greatest experience.

I recently stayed at this hotel to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I had hoped for such a special occasion. One of the main reasons I chose this property was for its on-site dining and bar options, which were advertised as key amenities. I was really looking forward to a convenient, relaxing celebration without having to leave the hotel.

However, upon arrival, I discovered that all of the hotel’s bars and restaurants were closed due to a private kosher event—and there had been no prior notice given to guests. This was incredibly disappointing, especially given the reason for our stay. What was supposed to be a special, stress-free birthday celebration quickly turned into a scramble to find last-minute dining options elsewhere.

This lack of communication was both frustrating and inconvenient. After a long day, the last thing we wanted to do was leave the hotel to search for food and drinks. It completely disrupted the plans I had in mind for celebrating my boyfriend.

While I respect the hotel’s decision to host private events and accommodate specific dietary or cultural needs, it should not come at the expense of other guests’ experiences—especially without any advance warning. A simple notification before arrival or at the time of booking would have made a huge difference.

Our stay at Riviera Palm Springs started with a very frustrating check-in experience. We arrived at 3:30 PM, just before the 4:00 PM check-in, and were told our room would be ready in 40 minutes. We agreed to wait. After more than an hour with no update, I returned to the front desk and was simply asked if I received a text. When I said no, I was told the room was still not ready—no apology, no explanation, and no effort to assist.

I even offered to take any available room just to avoid waiting longer, but there was no urgency or proper accommodation. This is unacceptable, especially since we booked in advance. With an 11:00 AM check-out, there is ample time to prepare rooms.

When we were finally given a room, it had a very poor view that did not match expectations. I have video proof.

The lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service was disappointing. I am requesting a partial refund or compensation for this experience.

Avoid if you aren't part of the \"Private Party\"

I booked a premium room here expecting a standard resort experience, but the hotel was completely overtaken by a large private event (a Bar Mitzvah). While the staff was apologetic, it didn't change the fact that the primary amenities I paid for were unavailable.

Limited Dining | Event-Focused | Family-Heavy

Service - Staff were polite but couldn't provide access to closed areas.

Amenities - All on-site restaurants and bars were closed for a private buy-out.

Pool - Crowded with children from the event; not a relaxing atmosphere.

Property - Dated, not clean and poorly maintained for the price point.

It is frustrating to pay for \"resort amenities\" only to find them closed for private functions. If you aren't part of the specific group staying here, you are essentially a second-class citizen. Not the IHG quality I expected. I will not stay there again and neither should you..

We stayed 8 days with elderly parents (walker + wheelchair) and had a shockingly poor experience. The resort felt empty despite being “full,” and we were placed in a far building not suitable for mobility needs.

Our “upgrade” overlooked a parking lot and active construction. The adjoining doors were stuck shut due to extreme dirt buildup — housekeeping had to repeatedly get more supplies just to clean it enough to open.

Issues were constant: broken or ineffective AC, missing or non-working phones, bathroom doors that wouldn’t close or reopen, unsafe showers flooding floors, broken safe, and even a patio that sank underfoot.

After being moved rooms, problems continued. The toilet wouldn’t flush unless we manually added water. Housekeeping came only 3 times in 8 days, often leaving no towels or supplies. Requests for basics took hours or never arrived.

Food service was frustrating: long waits, wrong orders, and poor service. “Free breakfast vouchers” weren’t worth the hassle. The pool felt unclean, and loud parties disrupted sleep with little security response.

We’ve stayed here 6 times and hosted conferences — heartbreaking to see the decline.

I wouldn’t host a monkey poo fight here.

Stay somewhere else.

What was supposed to be a relaxing, first-time trip to Palm Springs turned into a very disappointing experience.

During our stay, multiple restaurants and bars on the property were closed, and the pools were also unavailable. None of this was communicated to us ahead of time. We later found out that the majority of the hotel had been rented out to a large group, which clearly impacted the overall guest experience.

Unfortunately, the lack of transparency was only part of the issue. Staff consistently provided conflicting and inaccurate information, which made it difficult to plan anything and added to the frustration. Overall, the service felt disorganized and unwelcoming.

While the resort fee was waived, it did not adequately address the extent of the inconvenience and disruption to our stay.

Would not recommend based on this experience.

The staff was very friendly and helpful but the hotel was hosting a 600 person event for Passover which was not known to us before arriving, and severely limited the amenities available to us during our stay. Our room was facing a pool which after moving in we found out we were not allowed to use as it was only for the private event. We tried to get breakfast at the in hotel cafe and were told the breakfast items had been taken off the menu because they weren't kosher and they couldn't risk cross contamination. We were told that the main restaurant at the hotel was also going to be kosher only so would only have 2-3 items on the menu you could order for dinner. Poolside ordering was suspended because the event had brought in their own chefs for separate dining in another area. We tried to order drinks at the pool bar but were told all blended drinks were unavailable because of potential cross contamination so only sodas in cans could be ordered. We essentially had to leave the hotel for all meals and every evening for dinner instead of being able to enjoy staying put, and again had to travel a few buildings away from our room to the main pool since we weren't allowed to use the one directly in front of our room. Very weird to not have the limitations disclosed ahead of our stay due to the nature of the private event. We have stayed at this hotel about 5 times before and this was an unusual experience.

This place was so quintessentially Palm Springs we absolutely loved it! I hope they keep most of the decor when they remodel. The lobby, shared pools, and grounds were so beautiful! The breakfast at the restaurant was delicious (albeit expensive like all restaurants we went to!).

The only thing that wasn’t great was the food at the coffee shop (coffee was great, pastries were very old and stale and the pizza was odd tasting, not like pizza) an the bathrooms in the rooms - they had sliding barn doors that didn’t close all the way which is silly.

We were just with our small family, and there were so many other restaurant to choose from, that this don’t put any damper on our trip.

We would highly recommend if you’re looking for a beautiful pool to relax around on your trip! We will absolutely be back!

I planned a getaway with my dad during a low-season Thursday–Friday, specifically choosing a time when the hotel would not be busy. Despite this, the experience was very disappointing.

Months in advance, I requested 2 ground-floor rooms next to each other due to my father being elderly and having difficulty with stairs. I was assured this would be arranged.

Upon arrival, we were told our rooms were on the second floor, & there are no elevators on the property for customer use. Given that the hotel was not full, this felt entirely avoidable.

The front desk acknowledged part of my request but claimed there was no record of the ground-floor requirement, despite my clear communication.

We were also informed at check-in that water would be shut off from 11 PM to 6 AM, which had not been disclosed beforehand.

This was especially frustrating given a previous stay where gfs & I encountered a room with a strong odor (due to water tank issues) and were moved to a second room that was not clean. We were told this would be noted and that future visits would be handled with extra care. I mentioned this again when booking, but no effort was made to improve our experience.

What should have been a smooth, relaxing stay became unnecessarily stressful, especially for my father. I cannot recommend this hotel based on these experiences.

It’s a pretty cool place that was probably exceptional back when it was originally built. But it’s definitely showing its age. For anyone with mobility issues, you might want to ask to be put in a closer building to the lobby. They put me way in the back, which is quite the trek with luggage. The reception did NOT give me good directions and I wandered for a while before finding someone who could take me to my room. Which is not fun when you are jet-lagged.

Pool is cold but lots of chairs and towels. The restaurant is meh and the service there is terrible. Staff don’t appear happy to be there. Spa was good but the male tech was a bit inappropriate, exposing me to himself a couple times.

I was able to walk to the downtown area but if you’re not fit or able to handle the heat- don’t bother trying. It’s a pretty flat walk but it’s a long one.

I would not stay there again but was glad for the experience.

The staff at the front desk and cleaning crew was amazing. The service at the restaurant was just ok, food was not good, tried a burger from the restaurant and they didn't have ranch or thousand island. Then ordered chips, avocado with chicken bites..( chicken had nothing but fat) and only got a small amount of the chips at the pool. we miss the old restaurant and menu when they had fish tacos and yuca fries and the prices were reasonable before. We later on ordered another burger and it was completely undercooked.. i seen someone else complain about the same thing about the raw burger...besides the water being shut off from 1130pm to 6am on our first night, and main pool closing for a few hours due to an accident another day. our stay was decent due to the majority of the staff being great... will be debating if will be back.

We’ve stayed here before. We got to the hotel this time at 6 pm and our room still wasn’t ready, which is a first (that late in the evening), after staying in hundreds of hotels. So we changed into swimwear in our car, and went to the pool with our luggage. There was not ONE SINGLE CLEAN TOWEL. Not one. So we’re getting out of the water, freezing because there’s no way to dry off. That was also a first, for a hotel. We finally got access to our room at 7:30 pm, which is ridiculous. Our balcony was overlooking literally a giant air conditioning unit. Even my kids mentioned it was the worst view they’d ever seen. The kids had fun at the pool. There were other very nice guests we chatted with. But not having our room ready at 6 pm(!!) and no towels at all at the pool, make me think this place is horrible understaffed. We have three young kids so we tried to get late checkout, and we were told it “doesn’t exist”. Horrible. Omni nearby is 100x better.

Check in was terrible..I understand early check in was not available but the second time i went to check if my room was ready i was told it was cleaned but had to be cleared/inspected?
I waited till 4:15..check in is at 4:00pm .i was told my room was not ready by this time my husband was upset and were told to speak to the manager..
He did take care of us at the end .
But the staff working the front end were not friendly at least not me..

We recently stayed for two nights to celebrate my birthday weekend. Check-in was a pleasant start, as the hostess was polite, kind, and professional. After receiving our room assignment, we chose to self-park since our room was located on the opposite side of the resort.
The room itself was clean and well maintained. The bathroom appeared recently updated, and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, the patio outside our sliding glass door was disappointing—neither clean nor inviting. The surrounding landscaping was poorly maintained, and although the pool was directly outside our room, it was inaccessible due to a fence.
That evening, we visited the Starlite Lounge for cocktails. We were the only guests, yet the bartender seemed unwelcoming and unfriendly. He became noticeably more upbeat when announcing last call at 10 p.m. and offering another drink with the check. Closing a bar that early felt like a missed opportunity for the resort.
The next morning, breakfast at Circa 59 was a much better experience. The staff was friendly, and the food was enjoyable. The pool area was clean with well-maintained landscaping, though the bar was understaffed with only one waitress covering a large area.
I also visited the Santè Spa. While the service was pleasant, the facilities could use some attention, as there was visible peeling paint on the grotto ceiling fixtures.

Came into town just for an overnight with some friends for a quick girlfriend getaway.Hotel check-in time is advertised at 4pm. However, we called to see if we could check in early because we were in town at 2pm and hotel staff told us if we showed up and got in their “que” our room would be ready faster because we were on property. So we showed up and put our name in the que as instructed and our room still wasn’t ready until 4:30pm! well after the advertised check in time! This was disappointing and there’s not a lot to do on the property other than hang by the pool but we weren’t really dressed for that and we could’ve found something else to do in town if we had known the room was not going to be ready until then. The staff was very warm and professional, and apologized for the delay, but they probably should not promise people their room will be ready faster if they show up on property. At least that was not our experience! Other than that, the property is fine. It is clean and has a cool retro vibe. The one and only restaurant on property for dinner does not have a lot of menu options so we went offsite to eat, which we would’ve preferred not to do. Overall, the property was fine, but with all the other choices in Palm Springs and the delayed process to check in, I don’t think I would stay there again.

I had some concerns with booking this property because of mixed reviews. I will say that I was pleased overall with our stay. The room was clean and good sized. The bed was comfortable. All the utilities worked ok but the air conditioning did seem a bit weak at times.

However a couple of problems did detract from our stay.

When I book a hotel on Expedia they advertise that all taxes and fees are included. However, there is a $35 per day \"destination fee\" that is collected at this property. So when you see a price quoted by Expedia, add that to the bill. I wish they would be more transparent with the pricing right up front.

There was a problem during our stay with the parking situation. There was a large conference going on for part of the time we were there so when we returned after our daytime activities there were no self park spaces left anywhere. We ended up parking on the street for a while until some cars cleared out of the lot. I contacted the management but all they could offer was an apology for the inconvenience. They need to do a better job at managing the parking lot so that hotel guests have a place to park at all times. After all, that is part of the $35 daily fee.

The pool was nice but if it's heated they don't heat it very much. The water was pretty cold. Also, it's only open from 11 - 5.

The staff was very helpful and friendly.

This hotel is ancient and falling apart, the staff are trying their best but its just not possible to have a nice stay there when things are not functioning . Our room door battery ran out and had to be fixed mid stay resulting in us walking to the front desk numerous times. The only way to get to your room/parking was through a narrow driveway which was blocked off most of the time since the delivery dock is right there too. They also have a convention center and that resulted in zero parking anywhere, they finally offered us free valet. The housekeeping cleaned out room, but didn't clean the shower/bathroom... just weird mishaps throughout for a property that has been around so so long. I would never stay here again.

The property is very clean, everyone working at this property goes above and beyond to make your stay amazing!! The hotel is 5 minutes from downtown. The rooms are a nice size. Make sure to ask what your view is from the room when you are checking in. They have a nice coffee bar you can get breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Also a nice bar and restaurant you can do a sit down meal, has a beautiful outdoor patio with fireplaces as well. There is also a small sports bar at the front of the hotel. The pool is beautiful and has several covered sitting areas and Cabanas that are FREE!!! First come first serve. We had a very nice relaxing time here. Would highly recommend!! Would definitely stay here again!

Staff were friendly and helpful, pools were beautiful and there were plenty of chaises and cabanas. Took off one star because there were a few small things that needed attention, but overall I enjoyed the stay and thought it was a good value for the price.

Nice spa but needs some cosmetic surgery. Looked a little dated. For the price could’ve gone to a fresher spa. Otherwise everything was great. One small peeve was the overpriced margarita at the outside bar. $19 is ridiculous. Other than these small personal issues, great hotel, great location, great stay.

We had such a nice experience at Riviera the amenities were amazing and plenty! The spa was also so relaxing and a wonderful experience. The room was clean, well kept, and the washroom was amazing in our suite! We had housekeeping come everyday and were always fully supplied in our room with everything we need including water. Would definitely recommend! I almost didn’t book this place because of some of the negative comments but that was not our experience at all when we stayed.

Overall a great experience at an updated and outstanding location! Subtracted one star because we had a random Wasp Nest incident at our room. Opened up our balcony and a wasp flew in which led us to discover a small nest hidden in the upper tracks of the sliding door. The staff was quick to respond and take care of it, but experiencing that as soon as we arrived was a bummer. We were running late to our dinner date and had to take care of that beforehand so it kind of affected the excitement and mood. But overall a pleasant experience — dog friendly was a plus!

Courteous staff. On-site restaurant is trying to be more high end than what it is.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. Our room could use a little maintenance (faucets needed tightening, door hinge fell off of cabinet) but nothing that impacted our stay or use.
Finally… it was the Hunger Games trying to get a towel at the pool. They were not prepared for a busy Valentines weekend at the pool.
None of the above overly impacted our experience and we enjoyed our stay and would probably stay here again.

This hotel is perfect, it is safe, clean, big rooms and staff here goes the extra mile. I would recommend to anyone, it has resort amenities but still feel comfortable and not crowded. I was sick and went to the hospital they took care of my dog, I travel a lot and am impressed by how they helped me.

The room was fine until the last day when the cleaning staff left dirty towels, coffee cups, and open cans. I complained to housekeeping and they apologized and offered to send someone with clean towels - we declined.

They are not very accommodating for team events or large bookings. We generally have a team dinner/gathering at every hotel we go to. Here, we were not allowed to bring snacks and drinks for our teams and use the public facilities even though they're huge. They forced us to either use their caterers at about $50 per person or not have any get together.
