Unbelievable experience. The moment I walked into the room, the bathroom floor was already soaked—and then I realized why: water was actively dripping from the ceiling light. Yes, an ELECTRICAL ceiling light with water coming through it. A blatant safety hazard and completely unacceptable.

I immediately went to the front desk and asked to be moved. They flat-out refused and claimed they had “no rooms available.” Meanwhile, guests were being checked in right in front of me. So either they were lying, or they truly didn’t care enough to fix the issue.

We have not checked in because they don’t have our booking information. Expedia has charged the hotel but failed to book for us, and there is no other options because all the hotels are fully booked in the area. We spent 4 hours in the hotel lobby and talking to the agent, and it’s not been solved well

I don't stay somewhere just for their free b'fast, but they do advertise it, so... I was hugely disappointed in the powdered eggs they served. Really? Happily, there are plenty of quick meals in the area.

Room wasn’t ready after 4:00. Hair in the shower upon arrival. Stairs up front inaccessible and we had 80 year old father with us so we had to walk a distance and stay upstairs which was inconvenient. Tenants were extremely noisy late and had chair on balcony in the center of walkway making it almost impossible to get by with elderly father and luggage. Smell of marijuana was overwhelming.

Great Base for Long E Sierra Day Hikes

Positives: We reserved a King Suite for 4 nights, as a base for our long E Sierra day hikes. Spacious suite on second floor. Good price. Very clean. Very comfortable bed. Air conditioning was excellent. Shower very good. Although our room faced the main street, car and truck noise, while heard, was not an issue, as we generally slept 9:30PM-5:30AM. (There is one other King Suite near the other end, away from the main street).
Friendly staff. Breakfast was ok—scrambled eggs, meat, potatoes, Cheerios, fruit loops, granola, limited fruit (oranges, apples, bananas sometimes); good coffee, bagels, muffins. We usually bring our own berries and melon to supplement. Recommend Yamatani, Holy Smokes, and Rambler Mountain Brewery.
Negatives: Refrigerator could be bigger, but worked well and we managed to squeeze everything in. Staircase at our end was closed for repairs which made checking and out more of a hassle. Ice machine was not working. Overall would recommend this hotel.

Card key sensor didn’t work and had to wait until maintenance guy came back. The closest stairs had cracks and were blocked. We had to use the stairs further down and very inconvenient to bring the luggage upstairs. Egg for breakfast had processed cheese and tasted terrible.

This was my second time staying at this location, the room was clean, staff was friendly, they offer cucumber mint water and lemon water which is super refreshing. Their complimentary breakfast is very good with a nice variety.
September 2025- the jacuzzi was not in working order which is my only negative comment. Will definitely be back!

Comfort Inn at Bishop… not comfortable.

The hotel does not have an elevator, this is not communicated in the listing.
Several older couples including ourselves had to carry our luggage up the stairs… not easy.
Suggest they
Install a lift
Provide a porter
Communicate the lack of an elevator so that older people can book their room downstairs.
As an aside the stairs closest to the lobby are in ill repair and shut down… needs to be addressed asap.
They should add an additional ice maker by the lobby.

The front desk staff is shockingly rude and unwelcoming, as if guests are an inconvenience. The outrageous price they charge for these run-down rooms should be illegal. The place reeks of stale odor, and the refrigerator and air conditioner roar so loud you’ll wish you slept in your car.

Hotel was average, a bit on the older side.
Front desk associate was very friendly.
Bed was comfortable and the room seemed clean on the surface.
The biggest problem was the ants. The room was infested. Arrived late so did not notice the ants before going to bed but upon waking up noticed ants everywhere, including in the bed.

The pool and hot tub were closed, we paid amount to stay here. The room was absolutely nothing special. The television did not work properly, and coming from the ice box room was a smell like something died in there. I kindly asked Expedia customer service to talk to the manager but when she tried to inquire, the Comfort in staff were combative and then hung up on her.

The next morning, the staff were pleasant and breakfast was served nicely, but jeez... We paid 190 and this place wasn't really worth half of that because you could not get what you paid for and when you asked, you got hung up on.

Overall, not a good experience. I've stayed on Comfort Inn's before, but this one in Bishop needs an honest review. The pool seemed to look like it was closed for years, so they really ought to update that on the listing as well.

The breakfast and morning staff were honestly on the ball. They did a good job, but it was really the only nice thing about our stay.

Location is great for walking around town or to the city park. Continental breakfast was generous and had something for everyone in the family. The downside is there is no noise insulation in the rooms. We had people on one side of us and above us who were extremely loud all night long.

The room is spacious. The facility is a little bit old. We booked this room for its equipped with bathtub so that we can take a hot bath after skiing. But the the plug of the bathtub is not working. This is kind of disappointing because that is the main reason we choose this hotel. There was water dripping down from the ceiling at the toilet location. The technician tried to fix it the first day, but not totally fixed. It was still dripping the second date.

First and probably last.

The heater in our room sounded like a Mac truck and went off every 15 minutes. If we didn't run it the room was super cold. It was not a pleasant night of rest. When we walked in the room the garbage can had not been emptied from the previous stay.

No we didn't ask to be moved, by the time we unloaded the car and got settled it was about 10 and we just didn't have the energy.

Good points are the free parking and free breakfast. It is a decent hotel, if those issues hadn't come up. Still a bit pricey.

The property inside was great. Outside is outdated. The stairs need to be restored and updated. The parking was full of firefighter trucks. The street noises of cars passing by are very noticeable while in the room. Breakfast was good and the complimentary sewing kit came in handy! Would stay here again.
