1. Many guests at this hotel are fishermen. A lot of them leave before 4 am in the morning. The breakfast opens at 6:00 am or later. The breakfast is not useful.
2. There are no instructions to operate the TV nor the AC
3. The beds are not as comfortable as before.

As usual, I enjoyed my stay at the Vagabond Inn. I have stayed in several motels in Bishop and have decided that the Vagabond is the best value for the money. While not fancy, the rooms are spacious, comfortable and well lit, with great water pressure and hot water in the shower. The continental breakfast is good. If you are traveling with as dog, the extra fee is reasonable and the dog walk area at the rear of the motel is spacious.

Desk person couldn't find my reservation. Had to pay the hotel directly and then of course Expedia got their money, so I again double paid using third party agencies. I really recommend for people to contact the hotels directly to avoid this hassle. Expedia wants me to contact the hotel, get a receipt and then send it to them. I did contact them and they said I would have the receipt in about 3 minutes. 45 minutes later, I still don't have it. 3rd party agencies are Ok when it all works but involving more cooks in the kitchen sometimes just doesn't work.

Perfect for what we needed- a place to stop and sleep halfway on our drive to Tahoe. Check-in was a breeze and staff was very friendly. Parking easy, access to room easy, location fantastic, fridge and microwave much appreciated!! But the true highlight was the double bunk bed for my kids (and worthy of a review!) We’ve traveled all over the country and finding this amenity is nearly impossible- such a great addition for families. We walked next door to Dennys for breakfast. Area seemed safe as we left our bikes and extra luggage in the back of our truck overnight (appreciated backing in right in front of our room).

We stayed here after a ski trip to Mammoth. The lady at the front desk was very nice and professional. The room is updated and very clean. The continental breakfast was pretty decent. We would definitely stay here again.

The Expedia Vagabond Inn site says they serve breakfast lunch and dinner. They only serve a very meager continental breakfast - no hot foods and not many choices for the dry boring food. We expected a decent breakfast -don’t choose this place over others similarly priced for the breakfast. Otherwise it was fine. Accommodating friendly staff. And they have an onsite laundromat.

Great hotel we always stay it in when in Bishop!!! Clean, big rooms, convenient location. Great pool, fun amenities like popcorn in lobby, free yummy breakfast…parking is great, the hotel is quiet, and it’s next to a Denny’s and near Schat’s bakery. There’s so many pluses this hotel has to offer. The staff is awesome, too!!! Love this place. I tell everyone about it.

We were welcomed by friendly and helpful staff, but the stay rapidly degraded from there. It was a Friday and the hotel was very busy- people were partying in the parking lot below all the rooms, doing drugs and smoking and drinking anywhere you looked. We were there for two hours and left. We were told we would get a refund, but this has not materialized! Good luck if you choose to stay there!

Rooms are clean. Mattress is old and squeaky. Pillows are all cheap and small. Seems like every door hinge squeaks. Towels need to be replaced old and thread-worn If you are on the first floor you will hear your upstairs neighbors and next door. Staff was courteous. Two star property that needs some refreshing and maintenance to stay that way.

However, it was disgusting how the pool furniture was so broken and not able to be sat on. Hot tub was too luke warm to consider, pool was milky white, so eww. You get what you get, but the staff was nice. PRO - bed was very comfortable.

The Vagabond did a wonderful job of converting an older property. The best improvement was moving the heater/ac unit from under the front window to the back of the unit where it was quieter and provides for a more efficient air stream. Beds were very comfortable, there were amenities such as a refrigerator, and the staff extremely pleasant. A great place to stay in Bishop!

Arrived at 2:40PM. Desk staff was sitting outside smoking a cigarette. We were told we could not check in until 3:00.
Left and returned at 2:50 and she was checking in a couple who had reserved 6 rooms. 45 minutes later after waiting in the heat, no AC in office. Was told I couldn’t have the ground floor room I reserved for my handicapped husband. I stood my ground a she “found” a ground floor room.
Upon checking out she told me a couldn’t have a printed receipt because I booked on Expedia.

Check in was so easy. Young man at the front desk was super nice. When I walked in he had our room key and everything else ready. That’s the fastest I’ve ever checked into any hotel. Our room was quiet. Starbucks is only a 2 minute walk away. Weather was beautiful in the morning.

Solid place to spend the night en route for a affordable price. We really appreciated how pet-friendly it was with a very reasonable pet fee, no unreasonable rules or restrictions and a big clean pet area in the back. The property is conveniently located walking distance to a lot of restaurants and just a quick turn back onto the freeway. The room itself was much better than expected with a comfy bed and AC, which was very necessary in the heatwave. The only issue we ran into was the hot water for the shower was a little finicky, but since it was so warm it didn’t bother us that much.

We stay there every time on our way to Mammoth. It is clean and well kept. Efficiently run, very nice staff. I do not like the heating unit, too loud so I can’t sleep with it on. But hen it got so cold at night and there is only a thin blanket. No extra blanket.
