If you fish in the sierras then this is the stop for you. There’s a fish cleaning station and a deep freezer to store your catch. There are also nice tables outside and grills. The pool and hot tub is a huge plus.
Judith
They have a large pool and spa, laundry facility and ice machine. Very helpful staff.
And clean rooms.
I would stay there again!

This was a basic, clean motel that was perfect for jumping off to some trails near Bishop. Would stay here again.

Great place to stay the evening.
Damian
A little dated property, there were ants everywhere, bathroom, kitchen area, bedroom. We could not leave food out or they would get to it. Pretty disappointing.
Laura Lynn
Staff great
An
Nice location
Christine
Could have a some danish, donuts and muffins for a variety. Instant cereal with some hot water to use.
Judy L
There were construction boards etc outside our door but no workers. The breakfast was blah! But the people were nice, tv was great and the bed was comfy! We only stayed one night passing through.
Benjamin
Clean, affordable, many amenities helpful for hikers trying to stay a night or two. Friendly staff and quick service. Would recommend!
Tammy
Great location in town, rooms were very clean. Staff was helpful. Extra amenities like the fish cleaning and the laundry were definitely helpful during our extended stay. Nice to be able to get breakfast on site. Great experience overall.
Geovanni
Everything was great just introduced a couple more items in breakfast
Jeff
Clean large rooms with microwave and mini fridge, helpful staff, clean grounds, pool, jacuzzi, ice, laundry room, freezer, fish cleaning station, BBQs and dog friendly. Continental breakfast, Easy walking access to stores and restaraunts.
Jim
Room was very nice and clean, and seemed to have been updated recently. However, the AC unit was very loud and did not get that cold. The breakfast was minimal.
Benjamin
Best priced hotel we found for the amenities offered. Staff was friendly. Would definitely stay here again. The only problem we had was noisy neighbors, but not unexpected since this wasn't a high end resort.
Tarun
Great location, budget friendly stay for accessing 395 scenic highway and yosemite. Room is clean and served the purpose.
Chris
Very convenient. Nice pool and jacuzzi.
jing
Air conditioning too noisy .they don’t have any usb chargers and c type chargers.

This hotel has a great pool area and the rooms are roomy and clean. I have stayed there a few times and it has always been a good experience.
Jason
Situated conveniently to restaurants and a supermarket
Elizabete
Very good price performance and nice, relaxing place.
Justino
It had a comfy bed.

Room has ants allover, 200 per night for this old room felt very high .
RUTH
The staff were nice, the whole place was clean. The breakfast was not really worthy of being called a breakfast. Very minimal. The bed was not the best I’ve ever slept on, but overall it was acceptable. The pool area was great, and many happy children were using it. I love the sound of children playing. But! The tissues felt like wood, and the toilet paper was the thinnest I have ever seen. Thinner than government toilet paper. Seriously.
Garry
Clean room, good location.
Ryan
The visit started off good until we noticed the large amount of cockroaches around the pool area, laundry BBQ patio area and parking lot. We had a constant stream of ants in the room which seemed to be dying from insecticide. The carpet left our feet black. Socks black. Black hairs on the \"new\" sheets and bathroom. The Continental breakfast was a disappointment. No tongs just open the case and grab waffles or French toast with your hand. Frozen products that were thawed. Limited menu. No hot items. We watched customers grabbing food with their bare have and putting things back in the case for the next customer. Hot tub was the highlight of our visit minus the cockroaches running around us. Complained to the hotel about the roaches. They did not \"note\" my account and would offer no discount or remedy. Disputing with credit card. Worst customer service experience ever. Do not stay here. Absolutely disgusting and gross. One roach in our room. Will never go back here.

Online pictures do not represent actual facility. It seems that the motel was very quaint, with a western theme, at one point, however, is now shabby. It is clear the owner/ manager is not interested in keeping a clean, well maintained property. Old, broken fixtures, outdated style, and a shower that varied from cold to scalding without touching the handles are just a few of the points. The staff was lovely and helpful, though.
Robert
It's an old place but well kept. AC worked, bed was comfortable, grabbed a hard boiled egg, tangerine, and coffee for breakfast. It was quiet and shared a parking lot with a Denny's right next door. Showing our room key at Denny's and got a 10% discount. All in all there was nothing to complain about this place.
Yolanda
Having breakfast make it convenient
Jed
Thanks.
Teresa
The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the grounds were nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was nice. We plan on staying there next time we are in their area.
Guillermo

The room was as expected. Good location. Only downside was our shower would not warm up past lukewarm at best.
Hoa
Staff are very nice!
Jake
Check in was easy, quick, very friendly staff, great amenities. Overall great value.

A/C works well.clean..only negative was the bed was worn on one side, leaned to the left.
Louie
The staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were comfortable and the property itself was pretty quiet.
Ismar
I really enjoyed staying here. This is not a 5 star hotel, but it did the job. The rooms were clean, easy access to the pool for kids, walking distance to most of the best restaurants, and very affordable. And although the Continental breakfast was light with only toast and cereal, the staff was super nice and made it feel complete.
Joselle Glecy
Room was clean.
Paul
Clean rooms with adequately maintained facilities.
Hootan
Clean overall with some paint updates needed, otherwise super friendly front desk staff, nice beds, good shower. Great place to stay for the price. Centrally located. Would recommend
Tracy
The room was very clean. It was quiet. The pool and hot tub were nice after a long day. The breakfast was just okay but it was included which was nice.

Nice place to stay in the Bishop area. Lots of restaurants nearby. Clean room.
Zelayne
Guess just the back grassy area for dogs could use some cleaning up. Also no bags for dogs (personally, I bring my own)
Donald
Breakfast was fresh. Check in was suppose to be 3 o'clock. Didn't have our room ready till 3:30. At around 8 o'clock at night the whole town and hotel went black. Lights didn't come back on till 11:57 that night. Asked if there was some sort of refund, and worker said they would check with management and give us a call the next day. But never received a call.

Always a clean hotel. Great hotel for the price. Unable to change your payment options upon check out though. Let’s say you book and check-in with a credit card but would like to pay cash or with debit upon check out; that won’t happen. Everything else has always been pleasant.
Ellen
This was my first time staying there, and the room was beautiful. The king size bed was very comfortable, and the AC worked great, if a little loud. The pool looked clean although we didn't use it, and there's a laundry room with ice available. We didn't eat the breakfast but grabbed a couple of pieces of fresh fruit. The only downside was that the cleaning supplies left some kind of weird odor. We'll probably be back!
Irene
There was a power outage so we had to leave because we didn’t know how long it would last. It was a hot night & hotel said we would get refund if we wanted to leave. Still waiting for refund.
Allan E
We have stayed here several times because it is a good value. The check in staff is always fast and courteous.

Rooms are newly refurbished and have a comfortable and clean feel. The hotel is pet friendly and has a large grass area in the back for dogs.
Cynthia
Friendly staff, refreshing & clean pool, clean room with ac that worked great in 99 degrees weather! Will definitely stay again.
Tara
Cons:
We had a broken bathroom door, a non functioning shower curtain, and hair on the wall.
Pros:
The beds were nice and firm and we were in a quiet room.

Clean room, good AC, bed was pretty good as well. Would come again.

The Vagabond Inn has been our go-to place to stay in Bishop, for years. A helpful staff that lets us choose the room we want, clean rooms and nice amenities. A coffeemaker with Farmer Brothers coffee. We use their fish cleaning sink, and they have an ice machine that allows us to fill our small ice chests. The TV is large and there is a large desk with dresser drawers. We like the mini fridge and there is a ton of water pressure in the shower. Their housekeepers do a good job.
A much better deal at the Vagabond Inn, than staying at an expensive condo in Mammoth. There is a Denny's next door.

Excellent place to stay. We spent 4 nights. Bed was comfortable, the staff was helpful.
Steven
There was a line at check in, I guess a full house. Friendly staff. Power for the entire motel was out between about 9:00 pm and midnight, so could not use WiFi or watch tv. Also no AC, and outside temp had been 98 degrees! Fortunately I brought a flashlight so I could take a shower. Bed was very firm, too firm for my liking! When the power was restored, a few lights came on, so another 30 minutes of sleep lost. Old firefighter response to lights coming on at night, up for another emergency call out…
Cold breakfast unless you count anything toasted? No real protein, disappointing! Asked morning staff at checkout if they knew anything about the power outage? Not a clue… Note: it was only Vagabond with power outage, other lights in the neighborhood were on!

A great property, but there is not enough parking! We had to park next door, or down the block.
Martin
Grounds and pool area clean and well cared for. Rooms were in good shape too.
Robert
The room was super comfy and cleaned daily. We really enjoyed our stay.
Karen
Great stay .. comfy bed.. helpful staff

Vagabond Inn is well situated to access the gorgeous Sierra Nevada mountains. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff hoes out pf their way to make popcorn and fresh baked cookies available in the lobby. There is a laundry room, swimming pool, and hot tub available.
Our only slight negative came from a female employee when we arrived from a long drive to check in.
We arrived at 2:00 and apparently check in isn’t until 3:00. As I got out of my car and headed toward the door, I heard someone behind me in an irritated voice call out,”what is it you need in there?”
I replied, “I was going to check in”. She shot back, still with an irritated voice, “Check in is at 3:00”
I’ve checked in to a lot of motels and hotels in my life and have never been spoken to like that.

We had a wonderful stay at the Vagabond! Our check in experience was wonderful! Cleaning staff was great as well! Pool
Was a bit cloudy but it was a busy weekend. We had an amazing stay. We will definitely be back!

Our stay was just ok. We could not get into our room until 4:30pm due to a crazy busy weekend. I think I had a handicap room which was roomy and everything but the bed was hard. The room was clean and parking was right outside our door so those were good things. I dont think I would personally stay there again however with that said, maybe the average traveler through Bishop would find it adequate for a night. Free breakfast.
lori
I had partial power in my room for 2 days/nights. Hard to get ahold of anyone to help. Finally got the power issue resolved the second day after reminding the maintenance team. Evidently they weren't told that I had a problem.
Also discovered that the phones in the rooms are inoperable. Only for \"esthetics\" per the mgr.
Also had small black ants in the room.

The place was pretty dated, but was okay for 1 night while passing thru. The main issues we had was our room had a lot of ants in it and I told front desk and all I got was(oh ok). Also, the shower did not work so when we needed to shower we had to go to another room to do so.
Lisa
I just love having the Vagabond in Bishop available for my travels.
I'm a solo female traveler with a dog. I feel safe and secure at the Vagabond. Families and recreational travelers who are quiet and considerate.
It is my first choice, always.
The property is older, but clean and maintained and the rooms are very nice

The room was nice. There was a BBQ area behind the hotel, laundry room with ice machine close to the room. Ample parking and next door to a Denny's restaurant. Close to other restaurants, sporting goods stores, etc. Bishop was our last stop on a 4000 mile road trip. We were tired and just wanted a quiet room for the night, a quick breakfast and on our way. It provided just that.
Ted
We stayed during the Bishop Rodeo so the price was a lot more. AC was very loud but drowned out the two small dogs chirping next door. Slept really well. Breakfast was ok. Overall I liked it. Would stay there again as long as it was not during a busy time.
mary
The check in staff, very courteous. The bathrooms were too small. The carpet too old. Breakfast was bare minimum. There was no odor in the room for how old the property is. They are due for a upgrade. Really bad.
Sheila
Very helpful, my mother can’t climb stairs, worked with me for a room downstairs, thank you,
deborah
Room was very clean and the air conditioning worked great! And the bed was super comfortable!!! Staff was friendly and made you feel very welcome! We have stayed here before and we will definitely stay here again!🐟
Brana
Everything was actually pretty decent. It was nice at check-in to be greeted with a smile and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. My only concerns was the phone in the room did not work, smell of natural gas in the back of the property that I notified them about, and the TV that was pre-set to turn off every 30 minutes.
Shahram
Very helpful and nice staff.
Marcia
Very nice staff and property
Jesse
We loved staying in Bishop, felt like we were back home. Our stay at the Vagabond was great, everything was nice and clean, and just comfortable. When we return to Yosemite, this will for sure be one of our stops again.
Brian
For the price, the breakfast, the staff and the clean and comfortable room, I don't think this place can be beat in Bishop. I'd definitely stay here again.
Shawn
This is a perfect place to stop on the way to Yosemite. Room was clean and the pool was nice. Been a while since I’ve been in pool. That’s 9 feet deep. Excellent on a hot day.
