Room was nicely decorated and well kept, but overall it does not come across as a luxury accommodation. The staffs are friendly and welcoming but those at breakfast could do with better efficiency and higher service standards, for example, they do not show us to a table and took a while to come back for your drinks and hot food order.

We’ve stayed at Spicers Guesthouse several times, and it has become a favourite for accommodation in Pokolbin. The staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, ie they are able to help with most queries without having to consult with supervisors or managers. The rooms are clean, spacious enough, and well appointed.

We had such a beautiful stay here and have already recommended it to everyone we know. The spa/pool was a dream and everything was so peaceful. The restaurant was delicious aswell.
The only 2 baby flaws I had was that there was some rubbish by the spa on our first day and it was still there the following morning (it had just blown down a bit). It was only like a wrapper or something plastic but rubbish in general grosses me out. The other was that the big outdoor fireplace wasn’t put on and we were really looking forward to sitting there. We did end up sitting up the top and chatting with some other lovely couples but it would have been nice to sit down the bottom there.
Otherwise everything was 10/10. The check in was super easy, the room was clean and the views were lovely. We will definitely be returning

During our 5-day trip to Hunter Valley and Port Stephens, this hotel was by far the best choice we made. For our anniversary trip, the hotel staff upgraded us to the Hunter Suite and surprised us with a lovely bottle of local sparkling wine—such a thoughtful touch!

Although only for one night, it was a delightful experience. The room was spotless and modern, the lodge was very welcoming with log fires and a lovely restaurant, and the staff were welcoming and friendly.

Property is very underwhelming in person, online looks spectacular however, our king bedroom was very small, no natural lighting and felt like we were in a shoe box, our room had cob webs and was poorly cleaned, the bathroom towel racks were not heated, the bathroom fan did not work and we had troubles with the air conditioning, the property is fine but overall our stay was nothing exciting, the hospitality was average and nothing out of the ordinary, we were hoping for more based on the reviews however both me and my partner would not recommend this place to anyone, save your money and put it towards something more exciting!

Such a peaceful beautiful property, the pool is lovely and there are kangaroos hopping around. We had a fantastic stay. The staff were all very attentive, however, the one thing I will say is that we visited some wineries and were told that we should have gotten a card from Spicers to show to receive complimentary tastings, but we never received one. I guess they forgot, that would have been nice. Definitely would stay here again.

Not so happy on this place as its not worth the money you pay and the “Title” and advertisement was extremely nice but the place need some renovations. The stuff is not that approachable, the bathroom sliding door is broken, the bed is not comfy and made my husband back in pain and the worse thing about it they set the sprinkle water to water the grass at 3am that wake us up as in front of our room and we didn’t go back to sleep. The buffet is very ordinary and so basic. My expectations was high as the ads and the price I paid I even choose deluxe room but its just a standard quality.

Considering the cost of staying here a night I would have expected better servicing of the room.. There was a stain on the carpet and the carpet was not vacuumed. The room was just tidied. The view we had of the countryside was nice. If anything could be done it would be better for the bathroom NOT to have a sliding door as it did not close properly leaving a gap where one could hear all noises.

This was a very special stay. The property felt new and clean and rooms were good size. We really enjoyed our Valentines dinner at Eremo's and the breakfasts each morning were delicious. Our morning view always included kangaroos which made it extra special. We booked the Spa at their sister resort and it was excellent.

Few things to consider but very good overall
Amazing location and peaceful place. The pool + jacuzzi overlooking the roos were top notch.
A few things to improve:
- Breakfast menu should change more frequently (especially for those who stay 3+ nights). Other option would be to propose a buffet.
- Some guests can be careless when dropping/leaving empty drinks/plates, clothes etc aroung the pool. Setting a bin + tray to dispose of things could be useful (for both guests and hotel workers!)

The on-site restaurant Ernie is great and Philip was very attentive to the hangry children’s needs throughout the night. Thank you. We thought the pool was a little small for the size of the guesthouse, but overall was a great stay.

Hotel Room : 7/10 I loved the small touches mentioned above and the room decor was pretty and clean, however our room did have a small issue with a smell coming from the drain that wasn’t the greatest, but there is so much that made up for that. The view was beautiful from room #4. The tv selection was sad and netflix would have made it better. I would also have loved to see a Nespresso machine, they only had some hipster drip coffee sachets. Leif products are beautiful we have them at home so I was pleased to see them in the property. The outside stools were relaxing and quiet to listen to nature and enjoy a beautiful view over the river.
