The fact we came for a relaxing time and restful sleep and got anything but, the bed was so uncomfortable would have been better on the floor.

Pillows hopeless, bales of hay would have been better.

The food from the bar, was over priced and poor quality for what you paid for.

Over all very poor establishment, a back yard pub would have been a better option.

What a perfect stay for a young family (kids 4 and 7). We enjoyed the early check in that was available (at 11:30am even though website said generally the rooms were available from 3pm), but we got lucky that a room was vacant). The pool was the perfect temperature, the water park was so much fun for the kids, the cocktails were delicious, and oh my god that buffet for breakfast was incredible!! Thanks for a memorable stay! We are definitely coming back when we return to the Hunter! Very good value for money!

One of our pillows is mouldy. We only realise the morning we woke up and we saw the end of the pillow. The body wash in the shower is empty. My 5yr old daughter burn her ankle in the baby jumping castle when she did her first slide. So she did not get to enjoy much as she had pain on her foot. We did not get to ride the kangaroo tour as it is full. Hope they did at least 5 ride sessions in 1 day knowing it’s a busy time so guests can do most of the things the resort is offering. The carpet is very old hope it get changed.

A perfect retreat away from the hussle and bussle of a working week. No need to go anywhere else, park the car on Friday evening, leave it there and drive away Sunday after a very relaxing weekend, where the staff were absolutely brilliant and nothing was a problem to cater to our needs. This is the 2nd year we stayed here for the golf tournament at the Resort. So lucky we managed to get a room. We chose to stay here again because of the awesome breakfast (pastries, egg options, cereals, juices, coffees) and all the facilities. It did not disappoint. Our whole family came along so the 3bedroom Villas were nice and roomy. We did not even need to leave the resort. The train ride was number 1 priority for the kids each day and the swimming. So close to all the other places nearby. Would definitely be here again.

I stay at this resort annually and I must say I was disappointed this round. Upon arrival I did not have a hard copy of my credit card as it was fraudulently used the week prior. I had contacted the property prior to arrival to be told ‘not a problem’. Upon arrival I was told I MUST have the card or the cards number. The male manager was unhelpful and rude! I told him that I had spoken to someone on Friday and that it wouldn’t be a problem since my room was already paid for in full. He did not offer any solutions. I told him that I was willing to pay cash if needed for security. He took the cash, no apology, just rudeness. I was so cranky.
Upon arriving to my room there was no portacot as per written request. It seemed things were just not right this trip.
Admittedly it’s the first time I stayed on the first level to the right with the rooms that have the small yard area. This was great as I have small children and they could safely play just outside the doors.
The children’s play area is great. The merry go round, train and Ferris wheel are always fun. The staff also who run these are friendly and helpful.
My children loved the chicken coop and train tour of the property.
Restaurant downstairs has gone south. Not sure if it’s had a change in hand but we found it overpriced for the quality of food.
It ended up being a lovely 3 days annual stay, just rocky at first.

Okay i am going to be honest and hopefully this review will benefit all, if the Rydges management are watching. We stayed two nights in one of villas as a couple. Overall we had a great stay however i will go into more detail.

Pros
All staff were excellent with special mention to check-in, concierge, and to the Chefs at Redsalt, Rydges fine dining restaurant, our meals were very good however our waiter was excellent and made our experience.

The accommodation was good with a good layout, space and reasonably modern large bathroom.

Parking was at the door and easy.

Cons
TV wifi didnt work and needs to be sorted out. Talking to staff, apparently a resort-wide issue. Not good enough!
Bed was a king however the mattress needs replacing as it was well used and uncomfortable.
Get some decent 3 ply toilet tissue.
A bottle of wine and some chocolates should also be standard. It's a wine region. I'm sure there's a local winery keen to do a deal, or maybe a different winery each month.
Honestly, the staff got you to four stars. Make the other improvements and you'll get five.
