Room was clean, decor a tad dated though. No reception present on arrival but they were very prompt to check us in remotely.
Great location, plenty of parking, very quiet, large rooms with big smart TV. Some more quilts on bed and extra pillows woukd have been nice.
Air con worked very well.
The breakfast was make yourself and some bacon, tomato’s and cheese in the fridge woukd have been nice but there aa eggs, milk, juice, fruit, cereal etc

Eclectic and unique. Lots of stairs so be prepared. The immediate area around is empty but it is only a short walk to shopping and restaurants. Very clean. Please add 2$ a night and lose the 1.1% surcharge to use a card

Hotel is more like a backpackers. Very old and not well cleaned. Used cotton ear buds on the floor and tampon strings on floor in the bathroom. Bed was very sift, two singles pushed together.Check in was easy and receptionist pleasant. Location was central.

King Room in an old style pub that has been turned into a Motel (no pub downstairs anymore).
Entry from Vincent St is a little obscure but opens straight up onto a set of stairs with reception counter a climb up 2 flights.
Old eclectic pub style accommodation with shared dining room, shared loungeRoom and shared kitchen. Large older king room with private brand new bathroom (which was very clean and bright). Bed was comfortable like sleeping in a marshmallow that wraps around you. Room has bar fridge and kettle with coffee/tea items. Room has own A/C.
Free breakfast which you make yourself in shared kitchen. Great selection of breads, cereal, and milks. Also available eggs, fresh whole fruit along with every jam, butter and toast topping you could need. Basic breakfast, but adequate start to the day with a cup of coffee.
Lovely old pub, but don’t let the decor turn you off, it’s “eclectic” and quirky!
Only down fall is the street noise when some of the local “kids” yell and yahoo down the street on their way home after the other “establishments” close around midnight - thankfully it didn’t last long!

The rooms were beautiful but accessing this property via the front & back is a mission for the disabled. 3 flights at front & 5 flights out back, the property should state the stairs on their website. I also had my number plates stolen from the car park so be very careful with your car overall my stay was ok

Perfect overnight stay on my way north - very clean, comfortable and attractive room with new bathroom in an old pub in the centre of town. Lots of vintage charm. Easy checkin, great location near major shops, plenty of parking.

I chose this accommodation because all the reviews raved about it. How? I don't understand. It was filthy. The carpets looked like they had never been vacuumed, the frame for the shower door was caked with dirt that could have easily been wiped, the mirror was streaked, the walls and doors had other people's dirt that was easily visible (especially in sunlight). I tried to communicate with staff via hotels.com messaging but no answer.
The only thing going for this place was the being close to wineries.
The fridge wasn't working when we arrived and overnight it froze some of our food.
Breakfast was a kitchen with eggs in the fridge, some fruit, bread and cereal. Clean up after yourself setup.
You have to lug your bags up 4 flights of metal stairs at the back of the building. I couldn't imagine doing that if you have any disability or you are not fit.
Never, ever, ever again and I hope I have helped others who see the 9 or 10 ratings and believe they are booking a great place. Don't make the same mistake i did.

Location was central, close to shops and wineries. Beds were terrible, had to change rooms after the first night because it was so bad, next one wasn't much better. Overall, the place was ok, but sleeping there wasn't pleasant. The fridge hummed through the night, light from the hallway shone through the door and bed was painfully uncomfortable.

Loved the mid century style of the furnishings in this place. Very cool and funky retro vibe. Felt a bit like living in the past which was a very nice experience. Great service from the person who checked me in. She was friendly and gave me good recommendations on place to grab some lunch. My only wish would be for a more comfortable bed and that is just a personal preference.

Access, if door is closed, is via a mobile phone number, and up 2/3 flights of stairs. Hotel has quirky decor/furnishings. Room was large with comfortable bed. Help yourself breakfast of cereals, toasts, eggs, juice.
Cleanliness was average - and could do with a spring clean.

I really enjoyed my stay at this property and like that it was in the central part of Cessnock. It was unusual not to be greeted by any staff on arrival. However, there was a number you could call and the room was set up, unlocked with the key sitting on the table. Even upon checkout there were no staff at reception and you just drop your key off in the drop box. The rooms didn’t have much natural light, although the bed was particularly comfortable and the shower had awesome water pressure. I also liked that there was a kitchenette so as you could make your own continental breakfast with a variety of fruit, juice, milk, cereals and fresh eggs. All in all, I enjoyed my stay.

Very central in town. Very interesting and fun retro decor. Lots of stairs not mentioned in advertising, very difficult with luggage and old legs. Breakfast supposedly included but nothing gluten free was available and no one to ask at 7:15, not a soul to be seen. Street sweeper woke me at 3am.

The room itself was good. The hotel is located on the main road so might be noisy for some people and disturbing for light sleepers. Most importantly the rooms are located on level 3 without any elevator. This has not been mentioned on the website so that was big surprise for us and major disappointment (because one of my family member has got knee injury). Luckily our stay was just for 1 night so we could manage it. But something to know before you book it.

Great little cosy hotel in the heart of Cessnock

Nice hotel, easy parking, in the center of Cessnock. Lovely staff, modern bathrooms and very cosy lobby/common area. The breakfast is a self service / self baking with basic products available, much better than the average motel breakfast. We totally recommend this place.

Charming little renovated pub hotel. Very well decorated in and organized to make you feel like home. The rooms and spacious and comfortable. It has more of a modern hostel type feel to it with a common room and self service breakfast. It is well located in Cessnock on the main street and a short walk to the shopping centre. It is well located to the main wineries around the Pokolbin region taking only about 15 minutes driving.

This was a cosy little inn that had all the basics as well as a charm factor. There was a common lounge and kitchen area similar to a hostel, which is good for those who want to save by preparing their own food. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

Rooms week quiet and clean.
I’d stay here again.
Quite a few stairs to the rooms was not real good.
Kitchen for breakfasts would be better with individual spreads containers rather than commonly used tubs of margarine. The same for cereals. There are some people that don’t wash their hands before taking food from containers.
