Room 516 has a wobbly door so bangs with a breeze, while I could hear every lift movement throughout the night it kept waking me up. The curtains at least were blackout

The room was hot when we stayed, it was warmed by the sun. No AC. Everything thing else very, very good, especially the reception staff, they were very helpful. Special mention to Mike for all of his help. Friendly staff in all areas and good breakfast. Liked our stay, nice feel to this hotel.

Too basic for a three and a half star hotel. Sone staff were nice but not very helpful. Information about the nearby facilities was rather deceiving. True, the hotel is 5 minutes away from the railway station but don’t be fooled; it’s Wattenscheid station which was not mentioned at all in the Expedia website description. All my activities were based in Bochum, 10 km away from the hotel, so I spent over €120 in taxis NOT happy at all.

Rooms were big enough. Nothing interesting to see from the windows but was not expecting anything. Car park is next to Lidl supermarket so very easy for last minute snacks etc. Handy for the tram service into Bochum and also to the Veltins Arena for Schalke football. Breakfasts were good and plentiful. Bar a little short of seating for larger groups. Ideal for couples or a handful of people.

Nice place to stay and bid go there again.

The place was pretty good considering the price. Read the fine print though, there is a €60 cleaning fee and local taxes on top of the listed price. Bring towels and hand soap, since none of that was provided. The place was clean and was in good shape. I would go back there again. We paid them in cash, but they gave us a receipt that we both signed, so I’m fine with that.

Poor entrrior. No coffee offers in the room or lobby. Charge for second device connection to wi fi. No opcion to cancel after checking in. Charge to get in the room at 12PM, instead of 2pm. Room was already cleaned and ready.

Not the greatest location, but a 20 minute walk will take you to Wattenscheid station, where you can catch a train to Dortmund, Bochum etc. Actual room was large and clean, with a very comfortable bed. Only real issue was that the walls are pretty thin and it's pretty noisy at night. Local area is very quiet and safe, not much going on though.

I think the staff were very friendly and caring, what really was not very comforting was the fact that the wireless wifi was free for two hours but the meter kept running so you could not use the time effectively. Almost all hotels provide free WIFI and with whatsapp being on 24 hours it makes little sense to have two hour limit. Looks like the hotel is tuck in the old ages of 10 years ago.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, and spoke fluent English. The hotel is \"no frills\" but it was clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The 24 hr bar was great for a quick drink at night or a nice cup of reasonably priced coffee in the morning.

The stay was great.The staff was excellent in every aspect.The food was very good.Excellent selection of food.The service at the bar was also excellent with a great selection of good scotches and whiskeys. Price was also very good being at a hotel. The only thing I didn't like was the internet speed was a little slow.The internet is free,but also only limited to 50MB, which means if you are doing business, this is not enough. So I paid the $5 for unlimited, which is not so bad, because the cost of the hotel was ALSO EXCELLENT

Five of us as a family - mother/father and 3 adult children - travelled to Gelsenkirchen to attend the World Cup Qualifier Germany v Ireland - we stayed in TRYP Bochum for one night - The hotel is comfortable , clean and well located for the city centre and Veltins Arena - tram ride away / 10 mins - would recommend hotel -

The neighbourhood didnt offer a lot and we had to travel in to Bochum or Gelsenkirchen to eat/have a few drinks.
Nothing bad to say about the hotel other than the night porter wasnt the most helpful.

Perfect hotel for attending a match at Schalke 04 FC. Bars, restaurants and direct tram all within 10 minutes walk.

Our only issue was with the amount of time it took to get served in the hotel bar. Massive missed opportunity there on the part of the hotel!

Tryp hotel - better than expected

The hotel is stuck out in what feels like the middle of nowhere (depending on where you're visiting - we had a conference at Essen), but the staff are friendly and the facilities are perfectly adequate. But the restaurant! That was a real and very pleasant surprise - much better quality than we expected, good fresh ingredients and large portion size. We weren't expecting much in fairness, but it was very good.

Stayed here while attending a conference in Essen. Convenient driving distance to Messe Essen. Nice, clean, simple rooms with upgrades available for coffee makers, etc. Great breakfast and very reasonable dinners in the restaurant. Would totally stay there next time I am in the area!

Modern Hotel in quiet, green neighborhood

This hotel has very easy access to the Autobahn, free parking area and close-by public transportation. Shopping is just across the street with a supermarket leading to the town center pedestrian area. The restaurant is very good. Highly recommended for the traveler. I have stayed there many times.

Großer Hotelparkplatz; Zimmer sauber und gut ausgestattet. Betten hart, aber für mich (72, seit Jahrzehnten - Manöverunfall beim Grundwehrdienst - Rückenprobleme) gute Schlafqualität. Reichliches und schmackhaftes Frühstücksbüfett. Für mich einziger Minuspunkt: seit Covid ist das Restaurant abends geschlossen.

Très bon hôtel a bon prix pour la région

Hôtel très bien situé proche de grande ville et proche de l'autoroute. Hôtel de grande taille avec grand parking bien entretenu et lumineux la nuit.
Chambre spacieuse avec un lit double et un lit simple idéal pour les familles avec enfants, matelas et couette de bonnes qualités. Dans la chambre vous trouverez un bureau, des rangements et pas mal de meubles nécessaires.
La salle est assez grande avec douche a l'italienne derrière un muret ce qui évite toute éclaboussures.

Petit bémol a l'acceuil le personnel ne sourit et pas de grande aide car notre anglais n'est pas au top. Alors que dans d'autres pays où hôtel on nous a toujours aidés ou mis a l'aise

Das Frühstück hatte eine gute Auswahl. Leider fand ich die Tischanorndnung unglücklich, da es keine zweier Tische gab, sondern nur 4er oder größer. Für Paare, die gerne alleine sitzen wollen, etwas ungünstig. Schlecht finde ich, dass keine Möglichkeit des Kaffee trinken am Nachmittag (oder auch gerne den ganzen Tag) möglich war oder angeboten wird. Die nächsten Möglichkeiten sind dann doch eher weiter vom Hotel entfernt. Es ist sauber, aber hat im ganzen doch eher den Charm einer Jugendherberge. Das Personal, nun ja, freundlich, mehr nicht.

Insgesamt sehr zufrieden, aber die unterschiedlichen „Tagespreise“ für die Zimmerpreise sind nicht zufriedenstellend.
Durch den Wegfall des Restaurants geht auch der Gesamteindruck leider etwas schlechter aus.
Mitarbeiter sind aber sehr hilfsbereit und flexibel, was die Wünsche der Gäste angeht.

Die Unterkunft bietet eine gute Anbindung mit dem Auto zu weiteren Städten, hierdurch sind Ausflüge gut Planbar. Die nahegelegenen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten decken wenn benötigt den Einkauf von täglichem Bedarf gut ab. Die Zimmer sind einfach und ausreichend ausgestattet. Mit dem Frühstück waren wir vollkommen zufrieden und bei Anliegen war das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Wir waren für Starlight Express eine Nacht in Bochum. Dafür war das Hotel perfekt. Gutes Frühstück, bequeme Betten, freundliches Personal. Gutes italienisches Restaurant (und andere Gaststätten) in Laufweite. Pluspunkt sind die E-Ladestationen auf dem Parkplatz.

Bequeme Betten , nettes Personal, leckeres Frühstück. Kleiner Punkteabzug für kleine sehr unübersichrliche Abstufungen im Badezimmer.
Ein Hinweis dazu wäre hilfreich gewesen, so hat sich unsere Enkeltochter den Zeh aufgeschlagen. Das Personal war aber mit Pflaster behilflich - Danke dafür!
Ansonsten durchaus weiter zu empfehlen.

Unser kurzer Aufenthalt (1 Nacht) war absolut angenehm. Das Personal war sowohl beim Check-In, Frühstück und Check-Out sehr freundlich. Zimmer war angenehm groß und sauber.

Rundum zufrieden - bis auf zwei Kleinigkeiten:
-spät nachts funktionierte das kostenlose W-LAN nicht mehr; Rezeption: der Router - aber da der Nachtportier alleine war...
Für meinen unfallgeschädigten Rücken war das Bett etwas zu hart. Andere, mit denen ich gesprochrn habe, empfanden die Betten sls angenehm.
