There's carpark attached - we arrived late so there was a barrier - we didn't know it would open if you drive up to it. The reception was incredibly slow - or maybe it was just me who had a long day driving?

Nothing wrong with the property. Stayed here to see a football match in Gelsenkirchen. Very close to main train station, which is why we stayed there. As with most train stations, the surrounding area was so-so. Was in late June and weather was warm and there was no air conditioning. There was a window that opened but it was noisy outside from traffic. Again, though, not a bad place--we paid more than usual because of the football tournament but at the normal price it would be fine.

The staff was excellent. They accommodated us with special requests and seemed to be intent on offering pleasant service. The hotel location was an easy walk to a main pedestrian street with plenty of cafes and restaurants and shopping. The room was clean. And the (paid) breakfast was excellent.

Front desk staff cheerfully relocated me to a room on another floor when my room became uninhabitable because of cigarette smoke from another room (it's a non-smoking hotel). Hotel location couldn't be more convenient to the main train station. The operations won't dazzle you with their efficiency (some harmless and readily corrected missteps involved things like not where it should be and miscoded keycards), but it the hotel is in good condition, and the included breakfast isa a plus.

Great Hotel for your visit
We visited for the Guns n Roses concert at the Veltin Arena. This Hotel is perfectly situated for events at the Arena and a visit to Gelsenkirchen by train. Very close to the main station so our arrival after flying to Dusseldorf was really convenient. The same station is also the one for the train out to the Stadium - so perfect. Good bar and an amazing free breakfast (really surprising for a budget hotel) Definitely recommended

I stayed there for one night. There is not much variety (as you might find out yourself) but as I needed a hotel there I decided to pick one close to the railway station as I took the train. Im großen und ganzen war alles gut. Es sind Kleinigkeiten die gefällt oder gestört haben. Z. B. hätte ich gerne am Schreibtisch einen Spiegel um sich zu schminken, weil im Badezimmer war es nicht immer möglich. Da ich zwei unabhängige Tage gebucht habe. Hintereinander gab es an der Rezeption Verwirrung beim einchecken, sowohl auch am nächsten Tag beim reinigen. Um die Tür zu schließen, musste man sie kräftig heranziehen. Dadurch entstand sehr viel Lärm. Dies war aber nicht nur bei unserer Zimmertür. So, das Hotel ist sehr hellhörig. Am zweiten Tag hatten wir auf das Frühstück verzichtet, weil einfach nur zu viele Leute in den kleinen Raum waren.

Wir hatten leider kein Glück mit den Nachbarn. Es lief ständig ab 06:00 Uhr jemand raus zum Rauchen oder ging zum Frühstück und kam nach kurzer Zeit wieder. Das wiederholte sich leider mehrmalig, aber das Problem war, das man die Türen nicht leise schließen konnte, daher lag ich zwischen 06:00 Uhr und 09:00 Uhr wach im Bett. Dann waren die Handtücher leider nicht sauber (flecken) und im Zimmer roch es nach abgestandener Luft, daher lüfteten wir erst mal eine halbe Stunde. Das Personal war sehr nett und das Frühstück war ok, daher war es allen in allem befriedigend.

There were parking places named « only for hotel guest » but the small stop-park could not be unlocked by staff ! So why ??!!! So we had to go to the public pk near the hotel. I would rather prefer had my car in the courtyard… well, this should be done… or take off the signs ??!!! Otherwise, a second coffe machine for breakfast buffet is needed : there was a technical issue and everyone had to wait and queuing.

Das Hotel ist völlig in Ordnung. Es ist gut gepflegt, das Personal ist sehr freundlich und die Zimmer sind funktionell. Wir waren wegen eines Konzerts in der Arena dort. Der Zugang zur Arena war sehr gut, die S-Bahn fuhr direkt vom nahegelegenen Bahnhof zur Arena und später wieder zurück. Das war sehr praktisch.

Da es direkt an einer Hauptstraße liegt, ist es auch sehr laut und man kann die Fenster nachts nicht öffnen.

Worst hotel experience - ever. Have paid for stay in advance but must pay for parking via the card terminal at check-in. Afterwards, the receptionist takes my card and has to enter my card number on his PC. I immediately ask for the card back and clearly state that I do not want her to register my Visa card in their system. She hears that while she tells me that she doesn't care about my opinion and that I can just complain. No prior communication or controversy. Fine another hotel

Versteckte Zusatzkosten von 10€/Tag fürs Parken ( steht im Kleingedrucken. ) Die neben der Tiefgarage ebenfalls beschriebenen, begrenzten Aussenstellplätze werden nicht als ausdrücklich kostenpflichtig beschrieben. Der Kunde könnte meinem, diese seien kostenfrei und vergleicht letztlich Äpfel mit Birnen wenn der Preis mit Hotels verglichen wird, die kostenloses Parken anbieten. Diese kosten übrigens 6€/Tag. Es gibt nur 10 Stück. TIP: Direkt neben dem Hotel gibt es ein großes öffentliches Parkhaus. Tagespreis auch hier nur 10€/Tag. Am Ankunftstag und bei der Abreise tut es dann auch ein halber Tag ...
