Beautiful hotel, services are exceptional. They have shuttle buses to the nearby metro station. Everyone is so helpful, front desk, luggage staff, cleaning crew, etc. They made the stay so enjoyable. They arranged early taxi and helped us with luggage on our departure date. Will definitely stay again!

The hotel is beautiful. However our room was in another building and we had to climb 4 sets of stairs, an elevator and walk to get there from lobby every day. The food variety was awful. Not western menu available; they ran out of chicken by 5 pm one day. We had eggs Benedict today for breakfast, they delivered it cold and forgot the salmon and bacon and hollandaise sauce and we had to wait a long time. They served pancakes with no butter or syrup and didn’t know what syrup was. Overall the food had no variety either. The room and beds were comfortable.

The staff members are friendly and professional. The Grand Hotel has interesting beginnings and historical importance. The building’s architectural and traditional designs are fulfilled with positive meanings. The hotel also has West and East secrets passages tours that visitors can join and to get to learn more about its history. Our rooms have beautiful views of Taipei 101 and Keelung River.

Not as Grand as you might think. It’s hard to believe that this hotel was once a five star hotel. The entrance is very grand but once you take a good look it quickly starts to show its true face.

The room lacked luster and wasn’t what I expected from a four or five star hotel. I recently stayed at a budget hotel, and I swear the Grand Hotel and this economy hotel had the same bed and pillows. When I would lay down on my side, I felt my hip and shoulder bones digging into mattress. There was shampoo in the room for a refillable bottle but no conditioner. No razor, no extra toothbrush, no extra bathroom amenities that a true five star would have. The outlet didn’t work in the bathroom either.

The food was… okay. Far from a five star, though. The buffet was a playground for kids and had multiple rooms that were quite a distance from the actual food. We are two adults, and they stuffed us in the back room with screaming kids and families. We thought it was going to be a nice atmosphere, but it was on the same level as a cheap hotel dinner.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you’re coming for the five star experience. You can visits the hotel without staying, that I would recommend.

It’s a huge hotel and very beautiful from its original detailing. We ate the buffet for both dinner and breakfast and it had pretty much everything you could think of. As a vegetarian there were several choices for me but a plethora of meat options for my family.

The staff here is extremely courteous and friendly. The buffet is quite good…Lots of items, from hot to cold. I’d rate it 4 stars out of 5. The Grand Hotel is a mainstay in Taipei and the lobby is beautifully ornate with red Asian decor. My room was small, but comfortable and more than adequate. Bathroom and shower were excellent.

Nice and clean room in a well sit location. The reception area is huge and will make you feel you are one of the celebrities when you are there. The shuttle bus is very convenient. The staff is quite nice. What I like the place the most is the back hill of the hotel. If you get up early and walk through the path back there you will see the city of Taipei and the New Taipei City from the other side.

Hotel is beautiful. Some staff are friendlier than others. It was a little ways to walk to the pool, but shuttle is available between certain times. We didn’t try any restaurants. We used readily available taxi’s, so can’t comment on how the shuttles operated. It was a pleasant stay.

This is a very beautiful hotel. The rooms are nice and the staff is very helpful. We had a room on the 7th floor and the views were awesome especially at night. They have shuttles to the Yuanshan Metro. The breakfast buffet is delicious. They even shuttle you to the pool but you can easily walk there in 5 minutes. We highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is decorated in a brightly elegant and at times, gaudy style. It works as an impressive glitzy showpiece. We stayed in a Horizon room with amazing views of the city. I thought the upgrade to the horizon room worthwhile. The room/bathroom was nicely appointed, clean and modern. The beds are nicely firm (my personal preference). The gym was a good - weights, universal machine, and some treadmills/bikes but small. The outdoor pool is large with a deep diving side. (The pool is moderage walk from the main hotel building, but there is also a shuttle). The hotel is situated between 2 Red line stops, however there is a shuttle bus every 20-30min to the YuanShan stop, if you’d prefer instead of walking.
We had dinner at the golden dragon (including a Peking duck). The dinner featured gorgeous views of the city as well. I thought the food was satisfying however not amazing or especially memorable.
I would absolutely stay at this hotel again, although I wish it were an easier walk to the metro stop.

前台办理入住快速。酒店工作人员热情好客。入住期间正好下雨，门口的迎宾服务员看我外出，主动借我雨伞。
酒店本身装修气派。虽已有50多年历史，但近期重新装修过。故房间宽敞舒适，没有一般旧酒店的陈旧感，反而有种历史厚重感。
特别推荐酒店里的金龙餐厅，价格与外面相比虽贵一些，但食物精美可口，用料上乘。
酒店唯一的小缺憾就是在半山腰，不在市区，故平时进出都要打车。原本这次来台北，早餐想试试台湾出名的大饼油条、牛肉面等，也因为进出不便早餐只能在酒店买了些面包糕点充饥。

We chose this hotel primarily for its historical significance. I was expecting it to be in a run down condition but surprisingly it was really good with modern amenities . Infact the check-in and housekeeping were very responsive and nice. The club swimming pool was bit far from the main location. I sincerely wish the Hotel to do much better due to its sprawling campus , grand lobby . The shuttle service is a great value addition considering its far from the main attractions and very convenient to connect to the main red line MRT in 5 mins. They need to improve dining . It was disappointing and the fact that there was no nearby place to go out and have dinner we had no other choice but to rely on hotel dining. I presume the breakfast is good since we did not avail it due to our travel schedule. Overall I would recommend this hotel more for leisure travellers and not business travellers.

Initially we were assigned to a room on the second floor. but upon I opened balcony door, a strong smell of kitchen fumes hit me. Later we were moved to seventh floor. The hotel guests have no priority to book its own restaurant. It was fully booked out in the afternoon. We had to go back to city centre for dinner.

Old-fashioned landmark hotel with good service and decent facilities but needs a good facelift—

True to its name, the Grand Hotel is grand in design and size. It is a hall of wonders to admire, from the amazing exteriors to the splendid lobby with detailed paneling and sculptures. Everything is striking and beautiful to look at.

The room itself was not too shabby. We had the twin-bed-side-view room. It was comfortably-sized with a large balcony that enjoyed a lovely view of Taipei city to the East and the South. We could see the river, the Dazhi bridge and the Taipei 101, not to mention the layers of mountains and hills surrounding the city. And even though the bustling freeways are right outside, you can’t really hear too much noise once the doors and curtains are closed, so we had a quiet night’s sleep. The beds are a bit hard and not super long for tall people, so wouldn’t call it too cozy. The bathroom was large and had a separate space for bathtub, shower and toilet, which was nice. The only note is that they only provide body soap and shampoo, no conditioners, and there’s a policy of not providing disposable tools (toothbrush, combs, cotton swabs, etc.)

The hotel definitely lives up to its rich legacy, but also most definitely needs a bit of facelift in some corners, as you can see peeling paint and the furnishings feel rather aged. But if you could only stay at one hotel in Taipei, I would recommend this as the choice for a unique, worthy memory.

The room is spacious and very clean, with excellent soundproofing. The bathroom is large, and the bathtub and shower are separate. On weekends, additional shuttle services to Yuanshan MRT Station are available, which makes transportation much more convenient. The staff are also incredibly kind and thoughtfully helped carry my luggage to the room.
