All the staff were so friendly that I felt comfortable throughout my stay. This was my first mother-daughter trip to Taiwan, and I loved the cozy and warm atmosphere of the space. The room condition was also satisfying. While the location is a bit far from major tourist attractions, the hotel shuttle made it easy to reach them without having to transfer. I would definitely visit again!

The hotel was located in an area that was very easy to get to the mass transit. 2 train lines within in walking distance.
The breakfast has an array of items to choose from.
I did have to ask that the bacon be cooked more thoroughly and they had no problem accommodating my request.
The doorman was always ready to offer an umbrella to take with you if there was rain in the forecast. That was a very pleasant surprise.
The fitness center was another plus for this hotel, especially after that breakfast.
I would highly recommend staying at this hotel to family, friends, and colleagues.

Property was fine but will use this space to comment on Expedia insurance policy. Be aware that if you purchase stay protection insurance it only works in extreme circumstances. I purchased insurance on a previous stay and rejected property couple days before checking in because I found it to be mediocre and in a poor location.
This is not enough and money was lost. So insurance coverage by AIG is quite limited. But it’s a cash cow for these 2 corporations so it’s pushed aggressively.

This hotel is centrally located in Taipei, with convenient metro transportation to many scenic areas and shopping centers. About 10 min walking distance to the nearest metro station. On the top of that, the hotel offers free shuttle service to metro stations and some scenic (shopping) locations at scheduled times. The staff were very friendly, and very helpful. They help arrange daily trip and airport shuttle at very reasonable prices. The daily buffer breakfast was great! Highly recommend this hotel!!

Very professional, they made it easy for us to check in and get situated and also get safe, reliable transportation to the airport upon departure very early in the morning. Rooms were quite nice and had good natural light. The location is a bit of a walk from the nearest metro station, but very doable. Breakfast was amazing, very high-quality and professionally done. All About, the Riviera Hotel was a very professional operation, and we would definitely stay again.

毎日朝食が美味しくて、サービスも良く、三泊の泊まり、check out の日をなった時寂し感をなりました。
一番近くの電車駅は中山國小です。徒歩約8分、バスの駅名は大同大學です。ホテルまで徒歩5分です。
土林夜市に行くの場合、バスの方近く二駅から3駅着きます。
バスの料金も15台湾$です。バス乗ると降りる一回ずつピーってやります。

Overall our experience at the hotel was great.
The breakfast buffet was fantastic! We had dinner at the Mediterranean Steak House restaurant - which was very good, as well as dinner at the Oeillet Pastry Café - which was very good as well.
The room was spacious and clean. Each floor had a nice common area. The rooftop with the garden and workout room was nice and unique.
All of the staff were friendly and accommodating.
The location was close to a train station and there were coffee shops, convenience stores, grocery, general stores, a small night market, and restaurants very close as well.
I have no complaints and would not hesitate to stay there again or recommend the hotel to anyone looking to stay in that area.

Every potential need is anticipated -- slippers, toothbrush, bathrobe, bottled water, a mini-fridge--even a yoga mat for exercise. Great breakfast--whether you want an English , a Danish, a Japanese, or an American breakfast, you can take your pick or mix and match. The front desk staff are exceedingly helpful on arranging for taxis and giving suggestions on good places to visit. The area is safe to walk at all hours. Very comfortable.

We used their complimentary shuttle service both days. Their morning buffet provided a big variety of food and it was all delicious. We felt we were in a good location. Close to a night market. A very stylish & comfortable hotel

What a great hotel! Located 10 minutes walk to the train station commuting to the central districts are a breeze. The hotel itself is extremely stylish and it feels a step back in time. On that note my only real criticism (aside from the gym - but in all fairness I've yet to stay at a hotel that has one that's even remotely functional) is that the rooms could use some modernizing such as swipe card access etc. Very minor really and overall a great place to stay.

Rooms were ok. Overall clean. Staff service was not fantastic. Upon checking in at around midnight, I told them I would make total payment and gave them my debit card. Instead they only held the total sum plus deposit through my debit card. If I had known that they only intended to hold the sum, I would not have given them the debit card as that was a deduction from my account. Upon checking out, they asked for full payment again. As it is, I am concerned that if they do not cancel my first payment plus deposit, i would have been charged twice. Bfast was lack of choice too.

Great stay here for 6 nights. Loved the breakfast, handy for night street market, fabulous foot treatment just around the corner, close to Expo site and short walk to Metro for access to the whole of the city. On a main road with a little road noise and under the flight path to Taipei's second airport but not many flights. There is a roof garden to watch them go by!!! Helpful and friendly staff. Planning a return visit in December.

The service at the hotel dining was horrible. Table cloth was dirty on numerous times and the waitstaff does not know how to do a good job. If I wanted a refil on coffee I got up and did it my self. We waited 45 minutes for a glass of wine and finally left. For the price of food and hotel they need to get the waiter in the dining area some lessons in service!

Good hotel with very spacious rooms and nice breakfast (fresh egg station, french style bread and Asian options). Rooms are a bit old (curtains in particular a bit dusty) but have good amenities. Location is 600m from 2 train stations. Staff is friendly and it is easy to communicate in English.

The Riviera Hotel is easy to get to from the airport on the metro just a ten minute walk from two stations. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was very comfortable and the wifi excellent. We went for the breakfast option which was well worth it with a good selection available. With the metro close by everything was in reach and if you get an Easy card it is very cheap to get around.The old expo centre has street food and several restaurants to choose from. I would definitely stay there again.

I traveled to Taipei with my sixteen year old daughter. It was our first trip to Taiwan, and I don’t think we could have picked a better place to stay. The room was comfortable, the staff was incredibly friendly, and there were a lot of places to check out within easy walking distance. Even so, the hotel has a free shuttle to tourist places further out, and the concierge helped me understand the (super convenient, very straightforward) metro system. I was given a map and she even circled the stops for me. My first metro trip happened in a country where I don’t speak the language, yet I felt entirely comfortable, thanks to the help afforded me by Hotel Riviera staff. They made a great trip destination even better. *try the pineapple cake; it’s to die for*

Starting with befuddled staff and poor customer service, we continue with a mediocre breakfast with a dissapearing chef, to rock hard beds and minimal housekeeping. The shuttle service is one-way only. It also runs on a very limited schedule, despite it basically being a cab hiring service (then why not book the cab at the guest's convenience? I was alone on 3 of the 4 shuttles I took). They even dropped me off at the wrong location. Overall, rather dissapointing.

An old, outdated hotel attempting to keep up with modern times. The room configuration is really strange and disorienting. It's long and narrow: you use old style \"keys\" (rather than card keys) that also must be inserted in a dedicated crevice that turns on the room's lights. Up front when you walk in, the room is an office setup with a desk, then a hallway with the bathroom, then the bedroom section. The furniture is a really outdated set up -- so this is probably a place people in their 60's might enjoy. Overall, the place is really clean, the staff is friendly, but it's the rooms, decor, and style that would keep me away, as it doesn't communicate \"comfortable\" for my sensibilities.
