This is a great base for the more independent traveller. The rooms are large and clean with a kitchen area and a washing machine. The pool is great to do lengths. The staff are very friendly and responsive. This is slightly away from the MTR and the neighbourhood is ery typical with plenty of shops and great value restaurants. For a visitor who has just arrived a hotel may be an easier option but if you are slightly more adventurous I recommend Gloria Residence

Great place to stay

Great place to stay, professional and courteous staff. This facility have a lounge area which you can relax.

Gloria Residence is in a great location, have plenty of good restaurants such as 好小子海鮮店 and 鮨洵 will satisfy any foodie.

Hotel supplied snacks and soft drinks are very thoughtful, full-size refrigerator with microwave, electric cook top and a sanitizing/drying machine for dishes are huge pluses.

The only drawback is that although my room was large enough, I did not have any good view. I learned that I need to reserve a different room to have a better view which I certainly will do when I plan to stay at the Gloria Residence in my next Taiwan trip.

Overall, I would stay here again if I am in Taipei.

Pro:
- Excellent service. The front counter speaks English and can effectively communicate.

- The hotel has at least 5 convenient stores in walking distance.

- Spacious

- Has a safe in the room

- Quiet

- Has a small balcony, with washer/dryer

- Kitchen, comes with microwave and fridge

- Has a mobile dehumidifier, this is very handy. We leave it at the shower area and dry our clothes.

Con:
- No gym

- Shower door can't block water completely, leaks pretty bad.

- Dryer sucks, but that's expected. Any combo washer/dryer just won't work when it comes to drying. You can hang your clothes at the balcony, just ask for the hangers.

- There is no direct line to the front desk from the phone in room...we asked the front desk, and even the font desk doesn't know. We suspect you can communicate through the telecom panel, hidden in the wall right next to the door.

The staffs at reception are very friendly. The rooms are generally clean. The hotel doesn’t serve breakfast , however they do serve simple food like yogurt and bread and coffee and tea. Would have been perfect if they have proper Taiwanese breakfast served like soya bean , porridge etc

This is such a great property: central location, modern and well equipped. The biggest reason I chose this place is the in-suite washer/dryer. However, the drying cycle was not working. We also had some issues with the TV: first is the sensor but it was fixed the next day. The speaker was making this cracking noise so I couldn't enjoy an important broadcasting. I hope they had fixed these before the next guest arrives.

Residence Hotel in Taipei

The property is starting to show wear and tear, although it is kept clean, but because of the high humidity in the air, even with a humidifier in every room, there is a musty, moldy smell. The rooms in general are dark, due to the windows being located in the bathrooms, and doors to the small balconies where washers are located. The hotel is fairly close to the neighboring buildings so the shades need to be drawn for privacy. Staff in general were accommodating and helpful. The closest mrt is a 8-10 minute walk, old fashion eateries near by.

2nd visit. Amazing hospitality, we get free mini bar and ciders along with a room upgrade. The hotel is quick and responsive to all requests including providing extra adaptors, taxi booking etc. Lots of drinks and snacks free of charge in the hotel area for us to consume 24/7. Friendly receptionists and we even get free gifts as we leave. Only drawback is that the area gets quite quiet after dinner time and it’s quite a walk from the tube/ bus station. Other than that everything else’s perfect - definitely coming back

A home away from home

Amazingly comfortable condo type hotel while in Taipei. We booked the Infinity room, which included a double bed, kitchenette, living room, washer/dryer, and bathroom with a shower and soaking tub. The customer service is top notch...English wasn't an issue. The front desk will help you to call taxis and book tours. Their airport private car is about $80 USD each way, but you'll travel the 30 to 40 minute trek comfortably in a BMW or Mercedes. The lounge on level B1 is such a wonderful amenity that I wish other hotels offered. All the snacks and drinks in the room are free, and are replenished daily. Train stations are a bit out of the way (650 meters to the nearest station), but taxis and Ubers are so affordable. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Taipei.

While the building felt a bit outdated, the rooms were decent. What you see is what you get, but the they did some color editing in the photos. The wood is a lot more brighter and yellow-orange. I would have much preferred the colors in the photos. Amenities were standard. There were no off sights or smells, but I saw chipped wood, a few discolored marks, and the bathroom maybe very slightly dusty. The air conditioning was good, perfect for Taiwan. The water pressure could use some help, as well as if you're a tall person, you won't be able to fit under the overhead shower. The staff were nice and attentive.

Overall, it's okay, not the best. Location is good. May stay again if prices were lower.

The property could do better with providing information such as how to unlock the induction cooker, how to set the aircon thermostat and how to use the rice cooker. Information provided indicated that VIP lounge with complimentary drinks and snacks was available 24 hours daily, but when we went one morning there was a breakfast buffet and this was chargeable. The staff made all the difference and we had a very enjoyable stay at the property.

I like the responsiveness of the cleaning staff. She was making up my room while I was back to the room, she suggest me to enjoy a free afternoon tea at the B1 lounge, which I acquired a very comfortable and cozy moment. The room was clean after 1 hour and I was able to resume my work in the room. Also, the front desk staff helped me to call for a taxi to airport after I checked out and picked up the luggage from the concierge. Very cozy and warm attitude.

Wonderful Stay at Gloria

It was a wonderful stay at the Gloria Residence! From Staffs at the Front Desk to Staffs at the Cafe, they all were very friendly and courteous, made you feel so homely.
It was so nice to start the day with a freshly-squeezed juice, then followed by the health-conscious breakfast at the Cafe before we headed out for our adventure. Very refreshing. The cleaning team was also to be praised. They were very polite, clean and efficient. Overall it was a very enjoyable stay we had in Taipei.

We came to Taipei twice in a month. One time we stayed in Gloria and the other time in another serviced apartment in the same area. Gloria’s service totally won. We felt warm, welcomed, well taken care of here in Gloria while we felt we were just a task they were “handling” in the other place. Very well lighting in the room, spacious for reasonable pricing. The only thing we can say is the relatively small shower area in the Royal suite. Oh and they require swimming cap to swim in their pool. So we didn’t bother....

Hotel staff are very helpful and eager to help, however, comes across as overly eager and rather forced.
I had issue with the temperature of the shower, it is either too hot or cold, and nothing in between.
My room faces the residential apartment and the housekeeping staff always open the toilet blinds, exposing my bathroom activities to the residents across.
There is no master switch to turn off all lights when you want to go to bed at night. This would be really helpful as there are a number of switches in the room.

This is second time stay at this hotel. First time as honeymoon and second time with my baby.

It’s a great hotel to stay. Room is big enough for families with young kids. Well equipped with all important equipment such as fridge, kettle, microwave, cookery facilities, washing machine etc.

The hotel is surrounded with lots of local restaurants and convenient store. Walking distance to cinema and shopping centre.

Staff very friendly and willing to help. Lounge is there for you to relax and enjoy.

Would have rated all excellent if it wasn’t the renovation on the floor we stayed. Most or almost all the rooms were door opened with white linens covered. A bit scary when we pass by to our rooms. Wanted to move but as usual they said is full. Anyway, we didn’t stayed in the room for long during the day as most of the time we were out.
Nonetheless the staffs were very nice and helpful, Erica was very courteous and friendly.
Will sure stay here again.

Best Service Ever Experienced

The service was great!! Anything and everything we asked for the staff tried their best to provide (within their ability). This included helping us arrange for restaurant reservations as well as travel arrangements for local tours. They were all patient to our questions and responded with great enthusiasm as if we were their most valued guests. There was even an incident when we could not get the Television working at 12 midnight and 2 front office staff came to assist to get it working even though it was quite late.

The only negative would be that the room does look a little old and some with smells of stale air but soon resolved once the AC was switched on. However this negative was compensated by the super quality staff that the hotel had trained. Do look for help from front desk staff like Irene, Owen, Pary and Sabrina for your needs.

Will certainly return there to stay again when we next travel to Taipei.

It was amazing. Free upgrade. Service impeccable. Room was comfortable and luxurious. Washing machine not working that great, left marks on clothes, need t re wash my clothings. There was some stain marks on sofa probably stained by previous guests and couldn’t get them out. Location was not too brilliant but 10 mins - 15mins walk to the red or green metro line. Overall, very pleasant stay and pleased. Would stay again. :)

Terrible management, ask for a up grade for my room... the rate was crazy.
Our friend had prepaid for their breakfast when they book the hotel but hotel insist that they didn't prepaid... hotel ended up refund the breakfast .
The manger with the black uniform at the front desk never smile. Buffet breakfast was very limited, when ask for any refill they take 20 mins or don't refill .
When enter the breakfast hall in the basement, they ask you to sign the bill even though I was holding something with both of my hands. It's kind of uncooth!!!
Would not go back or recommend .

My family picked this hotel as we wanted a place with eating places and bustling night life. We also chose it as there is an en-suite washing machine which is great.

The stay is slightly marred by a haughty lady at the counter during our check-in. She was aloof and not helpful in her replies. We were very surprised by surly attitude as it is so unlike anything we have experienced in Taiwan. Thankfully, we did not encounter her again during our stay there. Her colleagues are thankfully as friendly as she was distant and unhelpful. The door staff was also great, never failing to greet with a smile, even with their onerous duties. Recommended for anyone who wants to stroll around and immerse themselves in Taipei's busy streets. Plenty of good eating places around the hotel too.

Extremely good value and excellent service

The first room offered had a nasty smell of smoke. An alternative was offered which was smoke-free. Breakfast was reasonable but the layout of the buffet could be improved.

Staff were super-efficient and helpful. Five people swarmed into the room to change sheets. Free drinks , snacks and sweets were good.

If you can get the big 40% discount, stay here.

This is a gem

Have stayed here twice and will make it my regular stay as its the best I've stayed at in a long time. Great lounge area which is open 24 hours with computers tv and yes you can have a snack and a coffee.

It's so good booked again in December !! Really enjoyed staff and facilities with complete kitchen laundry !

Nice stay

Good location, friendly staff, some struggled to understand us but there was always someone around that did... Beds were like rocks to sleep on, might be the norm in Taiwan judging by our current hotel, leaves u hanging out to go to your next destination in the hope you'll get a good night sleep. Also had problems with the aircon, kept turning itself off, could have been operator error though.

Good and comfortable

Ya my wife and I enjoyed the 5 nites we stayed there especially around the neighbourhood area. More locals area in terms of food and market than at the busy Zhongsan area. About 10 mins good and leisure walk to MRT every morning and there is a market near the MRT that we like and also several eatery and bakery shops along the walk to MRT.

Great clean hotel. Big room. Extra toiletries...snacks and drinks in room for free! Great service. Large spread at breakfast. Seperate shower and tub. Tv that turns 180 degrees to watch in living room or bedroom.
