It is quite dated and smells musty. It also needs a deep clean if not a complete reno. Heating is with either a wood burning fireplace with no screen or a space heater. We did not feel safe with the fireplace.

I wouldn’t stay here if they paid me. It is freezing and no heat in the rooms. Toilet, shower broken. They gave boards with nail instead of log for fireplace which burned out in a few hours and we were freezing all night. Woke up with head cold. Toilet is broken and doesn’t stop leaking water. Shower doors have to be lifted to move since the slider is broken. Bed is too small (6 ft - 85!kg) with either the head banging on board or feet hanging off.

On plus side, the staff is excellent.

Good friendly family run hotel.

Our stay was good and we had a good time. Initially we had a problem with Credit card payment, and several attempts did not go through. Then there were multiple payments against the card. With the help of Hilary, this was resolved quickly. The restaurant was great and the location very peaceful. Recommend this hotel for access to Poas Volcano. The hotel is very well situated for access to the important venues to visit.

The owner was so friendly when we checked in. He showed us our room where we had hummingbird feeders hanging right outside so it was cool to see some species that we've never seen before. The room was clean and the breakfast was made to order. We also ate dinner at the restaurant the night before. The location is a 15 minute drive to Poas volcano crater which is why we stayed at this hotel. It was a one night stop after flying into San Jose on our way to La Fortuna. It was definitely worth the money.

The rooms where so cute looked like a tiny cabins and had a beautiful views to the farms with cows. The location is great it's only 10 min away from Volcan Poas and has a couple restaurants and mini markets around walking distance.

Poas La Paz revisit.

Stayed in this Hotel before several years ago because of it's location and restaurant. Near the Poas volcano and La Paz Water Fall Lodge which we visited. During our stay experienced several tremors from a nearby earthquake not serious though.

Good day!! I was not able to get there. I looked for a hotel close to my point of interest,”Pozas Celeste’s.” The hotel said that it was located 7.63 miles from my point of interest, however it was not. I drove about 65 kilometers to point of interest, I used Waze and Google maps. Once I arrived to my point of interest, waze and Google maps said to drive 50 miles more. We asked the local about the hotel, and they never heard of it. We were never able to get there.

Owner was cordial. We checked in early with no problems. We loved the breakfast. Bed was comfortable and room was spacious. Shower was hot. We had to use the fireplace to heat the room. Romantic!

Check in was a bit challenging with a non English speaking personnel. Room was beautiful….cabin like feel…with a mini electric fireplace and a coffee maker. The plants surrounding the hotel were gorgeous. Hummingbirds frequented the feeders placed below our second floor. Complimentary breakfasts were excellent…choice of typical vs Continental. Had a very pleasant three night stay.

Location was perfect, just 20 minutes away from the Poas volcano. They were also very helpful as I asked to get my medicines stored in a fridge and lent me one for my room. Unfortunately, the TV wasn't working. They were willing to put us in another room but it was too late and the other room was too cold. It's a bit chilly there despite the heating but it was okay. The shower was very bad, the knob was too high to be moved and I'm not even sure it was moveable, but the water was going too far and it was also not directing water properly. I liked the little balcony but it wasn't private, luckily we had nobody next door and could enjoy sitting there. There are beautiful hummingbirds coming drinking water as they put hanging hummingbirds feeders especially for them. The restaurant was excellent, they made efforts to accommodate my needs and had a very healthy dinner there.

Will not be coming back.

Stayed in the family cabin, it smelled of smoke from the open fireplace and it was very very cold.
It was like camping but under a roof. Everything was outdated gave us a creepy feeling.
Staff was friendly though and tried their best even if their English was lacking making it hard for us to make ourselves understood.

During our 10 days visit to costa rica we visited so many restaurants but this restaurant was the best among all!

We only eat vegetarian and sea food while traveling and most of the restaurants won't have enough options for you. However this hotel was an exception. It has lot of good items to choose from and they are all delicious. So if you are in this area then definitely visit this restaurant.

Also they have a rooms right below the restaurants for accommodation. I would recommend restaurant 4 star and room accommodation 2.5 star (due to challenges we faced with parking, hot water, laundry services.)

We loved our stay at this quaint hotel. We had a very large 3 bedroom cottage like room with all the amenities we needed. We absolutely loved the food in the restaurant. We only stayed one night on our way to Poas Volcano, but would definitely stay again.

Nice clean room. Walkway lights were not on at night which made walking from the restaurant to the room a bit tricky. The parking area is a bit tight. Overall a nice place, great value and I would return. Very close to Volcan Poás.

I loved this hotel. We arrived at 8.00pm and staff were lovely. They advised us to leave bags in our room & come to the restaurant. Even though service closed at 8.00pm they agreed to stay open & allowed us to order food which was delicious. Staff so welcoming, room very clean & of course, Poas volcano amazing.

Amazing Staff and Service

We stayed three days at this hotel and the staff and service was amazing. They were very attentive to our needs and was able to accommodate all our requests. We were here for a destination wedding, and were in and out at all hours. There is 24 hour security and we always felt safe, no matter what the hour.

The free breakfast was delicious as was all the food at the restaurant. We ate 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 1 dinner. It was the best food we ate in this area, even better than the expensive wedding venue.

The only drawback was the construction. The hotel is undergoing a major renovation. However, this will not be going on forever and we were in and out of the hotel during the day and it was very quiet at night. We would definitely come back.

Fantastic owner and staff!

The owner and staff make this place! Mario helped us bring in our luggage. When he found we had a room on the 2nd floor booked, he quickly changed it to a ground floor and helped my husband re-arrange to park properly. Every little thing we asked for we got! By the end of our 1 night and 1 morning stay, I wanted to take all the staff home with us! It was the staff that truly make this place very very good.

Quaint bungalows in the Poas area

Great stay at a great price. Enjoyed the ultra clean and comfy bungalow with a king-sized bed, fireplace, cable TV with English option for most channels and coffee maker in room with coffee and the fixings. On site restaurant has nice selection with breakfast provided with stay and an awesome convenience paired with the bungalow. The staff was too notch. We couldn't have asked for more!

What a nice stay near Poas Volcano!

We were so happy with our stay at this lovely hotel in Poasito! We were put in the wrong room (a standard room instead of the bungalow that we reserved), but it was no big deal. The room was completely spotless! It contained a double and a twin bed and had a full bathroom. Everything was clean and shiny when we arrived. The women who work there were very pleasant and helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was all very good. It was a chilly night and the rooms do not have any climate control. When we asked for a heater, we were told that all of the heaters were conveniently \"broken\". The young woman who worked there was sweet enough to give us extra blankets for the night. It was kind of strange that they had to ask the manager about everything (even giving us change so that we could tip the cleaning staff) but overall our stay was wonderful! Breakfast was good too!

You couldn't find a nicer spot to stay than here!

This hotel has excellent staff and service. The rooms are very clean, fresh, and have a new feeling. Too easy to eat at their delicious restaurant & at the crossroads of Poás and La Paz waterfalls.

Who could ask for anything more? This place is perfect... No idea why it is so affordable considering what you get! Easily a 4 star hotel with 5 star staff and owners.

Our school group all enjoyed their accommodations and I would not hesitate for a second to book a stay here again.

PS, bring warm clothes for when you venture outside, although the hotel is warm, the altitude makes this a very cold environment compared to most of Costa Rica!

Felt right at home

Had read the wonderful reviews and decided this would be our spot for an overnight while visiting nearby waterfalls attractions. We had a very rainy day, but the smiles from the staff made all that go away. Great accommodations and a delicious meal. Excellent breakfast included. Highly recommend anyone visiting Poas Volcano or the La Paz waterfalls stay here. Very close to both sites and you will be treated like family.

I choosed the hotel as it was close to Poas Volcan Park. the rooms are relatively small, but very clean and warmful. the problem is that one could hear everything on the room beside - talking and tv.
the food was very good and the staff were very friendly.

The hotel was very basic.
Cons:
- only two large towels (no hand towels)
- Internet was HORRIBLE. Not usable at all, had to use our limited mobile plan.
- No heating, even when it's cold at night.

- Good cable TV, lots of English channels

The hotel is clean and organized. It is in a great location for the Poas Volcano and Pas waterfalls. The food in the restaurant was fantastic and the staff was happy to help with our dietary needs. The area is a little town with local restaurants, tourist stores with local art and gifts and fruit stands. Have the strawberries. The view is magnificent. Take a sweater to the volcano..

We had a great stay, the only issues we had at all was road noise, it's at an intersection that becomes busy early in the morning, and the young guy that showed us to our room was kind of surly. Other that that it's a good place to stay and the food next door is awesome. Probably the best meal we had in Costa Rica.

Sehr sauberes und neuwertiges Hotel mit Charme!
Die Zimmer sind gemütlich. Das Bad neu renoviert. Das Personal ist herzlich und zuvorkommend. Das Restaurant bietet gute Speisen (vorwiegend Steaks aus regionalem Anbau) zu fairen Preisen an.
Die Gegend um das Hotel lädt zum Erkunden ein. Sehr nette Menschen! Zudem liegt das Hotel 10min vom Nationalpark Vulkan Poas entfernt.

A cet endroit il fait froid et il n'y a pas de chauffage.

Il y avait un foyer mais la cheminée était obstrué, la fumée c'est retrouvé à l'intérieur de la chambre
