The day before arrival we received an email to manage our expectations, telling us that the property has no WiFi as advertised and we hat the property is ‘budget’, and not to expect anything from it (nice to let us know the day before huh).

Property condition is poor, badly maintained, leaking taps, inadequate air conditioning, rock hard beds and slabs for pillows.

Location however is great, right on Scarborough beach.

If you are after budget and location, then great.

If not. Avoid

We had a good stay, although we were unaware of how noisy it gets, being near a big road, we had alot of traffic noise. The apartment was clean and the bedding was neat and clean , however the overall look of the apartments was run down.We did enjoy the close proximity to cafes and the beach, but with a baby we struggled with the noise.

If you are after a fancy place, this is not for you. However, if you’re after a place that’s beautifully clean, brilliant location, perfect white linen, clean 1960’s bathroom, a little kitchen that has all the kitchen gear you’d need, then this place ticks all the boxes. The beach, Coles and the main strip restaurants are all within 5mins walk. If you’re a light sleeper take earplugs because it’s on the highway but that didn’t bother us. ‘You get what you pay for’ isn’t right, because the handy features of this place are worth more than we paid.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The room was far more spacious than you can tell from the pictures and it is in a great location. There was an issue with ants in the room but overall very good value for money, would stay again!

Considering what I paid per night the property overall exceeded my expectations.I remember on Saturday night it was super busy around Scarborough and I was easily able to get a car spot cause ov the onsite carpark.if there was no onsite car parking then I would have had to walk some distance back to the property

I’ll be honest here the place is a little run down but in saying that for the week we had a really nice 2 bedroom apartment with comfortable beds - kitchen with all the requirements we needed - AC - the location is in ear shot of the beach - once again location close to everything - off road parking - No issues Hot water/showers all great - we did quite a few road trips and this place was perfect for road trips north, east and south - great place to stay and I’d stay again - and the hosts friendly and helpful - on a budget looking for a great place to stay this is it

I’ve read some of the reviews and I’ll be honest here the place is a little run down but in saying that for the price we had a really nice 2 bedroom apartment with comfortable beds - kitchen with all the requirements we needed - AC - the location is in ear shot of the beach - once again location close to everything - off road parking - No issues Hot water/showers all great - we did quite a few road trips and this place was perfect for road trips north, east and south - great place to stay and I’d stay again - and the hosts friendly and helpful - on a budget looking for a great place this is it

Great location. Extremely affordable. Nothing glamorous (hence the price). If you aren’t picky about looks, and just want to use it for a bed, it is perfect. So close to the beach, many good restaurants and bars, beautiful scenery.

Very close to Scarborough Beach and shopping facilities. The staff were very helpful, the only two things I can pick on. One, the microwave was broken however that issue was rectified immediately. The other, is the hot water in the shower doesn't get very hot, that seems to be a limitation of the 3 phase electric instantaneous hot water system in the property.

It was clean and comes with a mini kitchenette(which was a must for my family and I).

The apartment, although spacious, is a little tired. Whilst I appreciate that it is a budget property, the floors throughout were not clean. after walking barefoot for 5 mins, the soles of my feet were black.
The bed was very comfortable.
The light in the kitchen did not work.
An appearance by the owner/management would have been appreciated.

The first night we didn't have hot water. When it was fixed there wasn't much. It was just old and run down. Needed lots of work. Picture really doesn't tell the story . Nothing like the picture empty pool that looks disgusting

There were clean towels to use. This property needs to be updated into this century & at least some kitchen cupboards or bench and a freezer section of the fridge that's not iced up. The outside condition of the units also needs a complete overhaul & I'm not sure if it was inspected whether it would pass. However, I'm sure others would be happy just to have somewhere to stay. & that works. We picked the key up from a box & returned it the same way so I cannot really comment on staff & service.

As it turns out I couldn't actually stay at the appartments as the booking was incorrectly allocated to a month after I was there for the trip. SB appartment staff were amazing and followed up a month later to assist with a refund even though lastminute.com were no help at all. Highly recommend Scarborough Beach appartments for accommodation but would be booking direct or through a different provider in the future.

Budget apartments worth considering...

I picked these apartments because of location which was close to the official Hotel for a sporting event I was attending... It was cheap $100 for a two bedroom apartment, so I expected a budget level accomodation. My first experience was before I left home my flights were changed and I contacted them to see if I could drop off my bags... Cara rang me back and managed arrange early access which was awesome... the apartments are in an old building which needs work and the pool was empty But the rooms are large, uncluttered and clean. Most importantly for me the shower was hot!!! I’d 100% recommend these apartments for a budget stay!!!

The location was good the property was very old and run down, the rooms were extremely small and we had to spray air freshener. The light fitting was dim and had been stuffed with a goon box a serious fire hazard. The linen was stained, the wardrobe door broken and you could hear the conversations of other guests. I realise it is budget but next time I will wait until I can afford something not so basic.

The property is in walking distance to Scarborough waterfront and driving distance to everywhere else. Being so close to Scarborough and being right near a set of traffic lights it is noisy at night. The unit is simple with sparse furnishings but fulfilled all our needs at a good price. An extra bed and towel for our 5th guest would’ve been ideal but as he was 2yrs old we could work around this. There is a bad ants problem in this unit so don’t leave your food out and the shower overflows onto the floor so be mindful of slipping. The hot water system will also ensure you don’t have a long shower as it cuts in and out! All up a simple unit with plenty of room including fully fenced front and back courtyard, great location, comfortable beds.

The villa was not very clean in the kitchen area. There were cockroaches & no cleaning equipment ie cloth, tea towel washing up liquid.
The was a battery missing from the tv remote.
We have stayed at the apartments many times, but on the occasion were very disappointed.

The check in was via a coded key drop box which was fine (although I felt a bit nervous in case I couldn’t work the safe & then couldn’t get key, but it all worked out). We have stayed here many times & previously checked in at the reception desk next door, but this was ok & will suit the fact we sometimes arrived late anyway having travelled from the country.

Dirty, beds uncomfortable, housekeeping of a very poor standard, not enough towels, sheets were clean, no top up of tea,coffee ect.. No bedside lamps, couch was very dirty and sticky and needs a good clean.
I would not recommend this place to anyone.
I will never stay there again.

Was a bit disappointed when first arrived as we thought included kitchen facilities. Also King bed was actually 2 beds put together and could feel lump in middle of bed. Other feedback on TV could only get good picture if you were standing, when sitting or laying on bed picture wasn't clear, may find moving TV lower would give viewers clearer picture. Otherwise room was clean and tidy.

The phone number on the booking sheet is not connected. Phone number on the website is someone's private mobile number. Drove to the apartments and the phone number on the sign is someone's private number. Phone number on reception window directs you to call another mobile number. Really hard to contact. Other than that great location for Scarborough Beach. Quite old but clean. What you expect for the price you are paying.

Awful , peeling paint , mound and damp on the bathroom wall . No comfort ! Overlooking a dried out peeling and cracking outdoor pool .
We were in shock at how bad it was and went back to reception which was 3 buildings away and asked if we could move . The reception staff were very good and really helpful and after about 15 mins managed to sort out another
Apartment in the Sunmoon block . We were then moved into that with an extra charge
per night - well worth it ! We then spent 5 nights .

Good location.

I came to see the coast along Perth, the price of the accommodation for location was unbeatable. Very close to the main beach in Scarborough.. Bars very close. Great location. I got a queen bed which was two single mattresses attached so the middle was not really comfortable... Also there was no WIFI included for the rooms and so this made it hard to do things on my laptop for personal use in the evenings. There was a tv with basic channels.

Pretty ordinary setup with sheeting coming off walls on staircase to upstairs toilets
Shower taps all loose and come off in your hand when you try to turn them on
This is very sub standard tapware and have to hold taps and spouts , so it does not rotate 360 degrees when you try to turn them on

cheap, not nasty, bearable staff made it good.

had a conference around the corner. the location was superb - free parking excellent. so close to all the restaurants and beach. the staff when i arrived were busy, however when i checked into the only room available they promised to advise if an upgrade became avail - which they did. In the interim they provided a kettle and mug....we made the best of it....and being that i only needed a bed for the night and was out all day...it was perfect.

This was a last minute booking, after long and stressful day in Perth. Staff were lovely.
These apartments are budget.
Need a lot of maintenance and the pool being drained and empty was disappointing.
Over all I wouldn't stay here again.

Disgusting and dirty. Weekly Service- same sheets used to remake beds and only half towels were changed. Didn't clean unit at all. Rubbish found under beds from previous guests. Hairballs on window sills. Extremely noisy due to no insulation. Could hear everything from guests above!!! Not enough linen or utensils for all our family. Staff didn't care when we complained. Very old and dirty and in need of some serious attention. We left 4 days early as unable to stay there.

Disgraceful rooms offered st hotel

The room smelt aweful there was no fridge, no toilet, you had to leave the building and use communal toilets in the adjacent building. I wouldn’t let my dog sleep there. At $56 pet night disgraceful. I had to upgrade for another $130 to be put in the attic room. At 60 years old 5 flights of stairs are not good. This hotel should be reported to W.H.O.

What we saw online is not what we got.

Arrived to a hotel with a different name but same number as my booking. Went in to find we were in the right place. Room was part of a back packers area. It was clean and bed was comfortable, rest was really dated.

Instead if a queen bed we had two single mattresses which were hold together by sticky fabric. This created a lump in between making for a very, very uncomfortable sleep. Curtins were ripped and the TV not functional. Very disappointing!

Well Dont recommend for my personal friends

First, They could of mentioned that will be changed for interest booking through Expedia. You expect they will take money out of your account as much amount they advertised, well not happened. they took more out and when I spoke to Hotel , they said it could be interest for Expedia.
Second, it is like as much as you paid. you expect cheap Hotel, well that is it.BUT had good hot shower.
Third, bed was really uncomfortable. Room condition wasnt that clean ;black dusty hand print on white wall lol.

Old apartments, basic but clean.

A mixed group of 12 of us came here for a sporting event and choose this place to stay based on three things. Firstly the location of the sporting event, which was only 15 minutes away, made it easy to get between our event and bed. Secondly, the inexpensive cost per head and the ability to cater to enough single beds to suit. Lastly, the walking distance to food and drink with the option of using the kitchen if required.
We were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and settled in easily enough, getting a reasonable sleep.

The reception was lovely but to have a room with no globes in lights meant no light and there wants ants everywhere and extremely noisey, there no secure parking. All in all I would never recommend it to anyone your pictures make it out to be this beautiful place when it's nothing but very run down and untidy

The room was a tiny box, the carpet was torn in places, ceiling was cracking and flaking in places and there was mould also in places. It felt like I was a sardine in a tin can. I checked out after a couple of hours and went somewhere else.
It was not what I expected at all. Will never return.

I wasn't very happy as the bathroom window had no covering, so the apartment was freezing let alone cockroaches coming through the window (we killed a few)..
The kitchen was covered in ants upon arrival, not very clean, shower water was cold.
Just overall not very happy, we weren't expecting the best as it was cheap but still expected better than that.

For the price... not bad!

We stayed for one night (family of 5). Yes, old and worn, but it had everything we needed and is in a fantastic location. We will definitely stay again as the price is very good. We live in the country and come to Perth sometimes so it's great to know there's something functional and affordable for us. We have a toddler and we found it very easy for him- not too many things he could get into and destroy :)

The beds were very uncomfortable - no one in our appartment slept. One person got up at 2am to try sleep and sleep on the couch. The shower had very little pressure with hot water and only way to get pressure was to turn cold water on more and freeze. The parking outside our unit could only fit 3 cars, while others had to go park at the back of a building whilst going up a real tight, uphill, skinny driveway which had a drop off on the other side - really not suitable for large cars.

The apartment was spacious and neat, we found ants were a problem on the first night and hung around the whole two days, beds were quite hard and the neighbours above us were noisy, moving furniture around late at night. The bond is taken direct from the credit card rather than using a pre-authorisation like all other hotels would do. The bond refund hasn't come through and now it's my responsibility to follow it up. Very frustrating.

Hmm was okay... Was great after we upgraded

The budget room was ok if you wete. A single. N happy to share toilets and showers. We asked for a upgrade. After that. It was great. Only costing a extra $50 per night

Holiday hell hole

This place is absolutely horrible. It's a bare bones "apartment", as soon as you enter the room you are welcomed by an under furnished hell hole. The floor is filthy, the walls and trim look like they haven't been painted since it was built. The tables are of cheap prison quality.

The Queen bed is made up of two single beds and are extremely uncomfortable. When we arrived ( family of 4) there were only 3 blankets available which we then had to ask administration for another which took them a good hour because the couldn't find the key to their storage shed.

Was hoping to at least have a nice hot a shower --- nope not a single drop of hot water in the system. The little hot water system is tiny and needs to be manually refilled, even after doing this water is cold. 4 days no shower. Not happy.

The place reverberates like a train tunnel due to lack of anything in the rooms to absorb the sound.

Privacy in the bedrooms is from a blind that doesn't quite reach past the window so people could still watch youi sleep from the outside. The lounge room blinds don't cover the entire window either so people can see in through the 150mm gap and watch you.

First night was interrupted sleep due to other residents coming back from a night out or whatever, fighting, screaming and banging on doors around the building. Following morning had more abusive language flying around outside.

All in all I wouldn't recommend this to anyone especially families. Nothing good to say
