Check in on Saturday afternoon was slow. Two ladies on reception, one was dedicated to typing up her autobiography (or something?), the other had to do all the checking in.
Eventually I got into the lift (to go to my first floor room). The electronic card didn't work, but that didn't matter, because there was no first floor button. Others in the lift had a look, and were quite bemused - saying that I must be on the 11th floor, as indeed there appeared to be no first floor!
Eventually I found a little plaque, at my belly button level, that if you knelt down I could read that the first floor button was \"on the wall behind you\". But still it didn't matter, as my electronic card would not work.
By this time I had gone up and down (due other people) several times.
I finally got out, went and waited (again) at recption - other girl still typing her autobiography, and asked for help getting to my room.
Eventually it was determined that my electronic card wasn't working/wasn't activated, or some other reason.
The eventual room was very nice, clean and quite - plenty of room for my two night stay.
Dinner at the Italian (in house) restaurant was nice, with good food and pleasant ambience.
When I walked in, I was told to \"sit anywhere\", and generally treated like I'd been there before. I eventually found out that there were BOTH inside and outside dining areas - I sat outside, it was a mildly balmy evening, and quite nice away from the general bustle of the inside restaurant.

I usually love this hotel, but I am not sure if the ownership or management changed or something.

My room landline phone started ringing ucontrollably at 3:48AM...asking for some sort of system password to be entered onto the phone. I couldn't fall back asleep for an hour after this as I had to research if there was a fire or some emergency and couldn't simply call the front desk as the phone didn't work. Whoever is responsible for that system servicing at that hour...should be fired. Especially if this happened with all of hotel guests.

The breakfast room service was fast however the quality of chef skill was bad. Dry scrambled eggs and hard inedible bacon.

The room fridge was unplugged and I couldn't get cold water in my room on a very hot day, nor did I have milk for the coffee in the morning.

At check-out (9AM) there was a note saying the reception is unattended and to call the number if assistance was needed. Would have been nice to be greeted goodbye.

Our three night stay was PERFECT on the first and third days (Sunday 14/12 & Tues 16/12) with happy, efficient staff (especially Hui) but on Day Two (Monday 15/12) the staff were lazy with attitude at breakfast and arrogant after a mistake with a room service order, until the manager stepped-in and bent-over-backwards to make things right.

Hotel is in a strange location not really near much apart from a lot of cafes. Rooms are okay, bed was actually comfy, and cleaners do a good job there.
Only real downsides are that staff are constantly using the lifts when you’re wanting to go anywhere, so you’re always stopped at other levels - they need a service lift. No parking available, so we were constantly having to move the car due to 3 hour parking limit. Other disappointment was the integrated restaurant - on Friday at 6pm we were told they were sold out of pizza dough, and then one morning I tried to get a coffee and was told there’s a long wait (there were only 3 people sitting in the restaurant)

I'm writing to express my significant disappointment with the breakfast service this morning. The communication was seriously lacking. Firstly, it appears we were charged for breakfast despite it being included in our room rate. Secondly, we weren't informed of the menu options available, which I only learned about from another guest. Finally, the additional charge for extra eggs was not communicated beforehand. I strongly believe the current management of the dining service needs to be reviewed to ensure a higher standard of hospitality. I hope this feedback will be taken seriously and addressed promptly.

Lovely looking property , with great views if you’re racing the city . Very clean too . Our only issue was the continental breakfast. We arrived 40 mins before breakfast was due to close yet they didn’t replenish the fruit , cheese and meats . I had to ask for the juice to be refilled and for more bowls so my son could have cereal . The meal ordered for the menu was lovely however .

A comfortable and restful stop in the city

Very comfortable. Watched the royal show fireworks from our window which was a nice bonus. Clean, nice bed with a blanket as well as a doona which was nice. Room service was happy to deliver a dessert off the usual room service menu. The shower is a bit difficult to adjust the temperature very unresponsive. Nice toiletries thank you.

3 Night Stay at Holiday Inn West Perth

We booked a 3 night stay at the Holiday Inn West Perth. The hotel was of a very high standard. We booked a King sized room which was extremely large. The only thing was it was single glazed which made it a little on the noisy side at night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very good and well worth a visit. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Great hotel, very clean spacious comfortable room. Location not great as not much within walking distance and hotel has no car park. Restaurant operated by a franchise, breakfast not great. Limited continental breakfast, 2 cereal options, mango, greek yoghurt and a few pastries. That was it. I feel this let down the hotel.

Nice hotel in West Perth

We stayed one night at the West Holiday Inn. It was clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. We used on-street parking which was available when we drove up. It is a paid area after 8:00am so we were up and gone by that time. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was very delicious. The staff there were very attentive and accommodating to my daughter's gluten free needs.

Didn't actually stay there, I tried to cancel the booking in November as there was a mistake on the booking and it was made for december. Despite trying to get a refund from last minute and the hotel, their customer service was awful and not helpful in the he least. I had to pay for the pleasure of NOT staying at the hotel. I will never book with last minute or IHG holiday inns again.

Amazingly friendly and helpful staff. The room was bigger than we expected and very clean. We found the bed very comfortable.
We had breakfast included in our room rate which is served in the attached restaurant down stairs. Very basic continental buffet available but we also got to choose a hot meal from the menu, thoroughly enjoyed the eggs Benedict (with choice of salmon, pancetta or bacon) and hubby loved the big breaky.
Only down side was no on-site parking but there is paid parking one block away, very easy to walk, even with our luggage.
Bus stop for the free city ‘red cat’ bus is only the next street over also, so very easy to get into the city or to catch a connecting bus or train to anywhere we wanted to go.
Would definitely consider staying here again if we come back this way 😊

Holiday Inn West Perth was fantastic. Close to the city for a walk or jump on the free public bus. The room was clean and the bed was as very comfortable. The restaurant linked to the hotel served delicious Italian food safe for my Coeliac husband. All in all we loved our stay.

Please make all the policies clear

We stayed in holiday inn west perth from 12th August midnight until 15th august 2023. We had booked the hotel room from hotels.com. In hotels.com, it was clearly mentioned that full breakfast was included. Even after we reached the hotel and during breakfast, we asked around 2-3 representatives at the restaurant about any policy of the breakfast, but they mentioned continental breakfast is unlimited but hot breakfast is limited to 1 hot breakfast per person, but during the time of checkout, another representative mentioned some other breakfast policy which was never mentioned by anyone, not even on their website nor even by the staff at the restaurant.There should be Clear Policy on What is included in the Breakfast and what is not. Don’t make a last minute surprise by making rubbish claim that you have taken this in the breakfast so this is chargeable, you make things either clear from your side or from the Food partner on what is covered and what is chargeable. From the Hotel like yours, this frivolous last minute claim doesn’t suits your image. It just like how cheap tactics JetStar uses to earn legal ransom money by harassing their own customers which make sure that they do not return to them ever again !!

Overall this hotel has gone backwards. No minibar, tired furniture, this place needs an urgent revamp. Luckily the restaurant is still good, but the no Minibar is a huge dealbreaker for me. Considering the price, Tribe is a better option now.

Location: located in west Perth, it is a 20 minutes walk to the nearest train station, 10 minutes walk to the bus stop.

Room condition: Carpet is dusty. The waste bin in the toilet is heavily damaged and rusty. The walls of the room have many punctured damages, same for the bed frame. The only window of the room is very dirty and heavily stained. The bedside lamp is faulty and multiple feedback to the front desk did not solve this problem. It is still faulty when we checked-out.

Noise insulation: Bad. The exhaust fan on top of the restaurant's kitchen keeps making non-stop whirling sound and it is especially loud at night, unable to sleep well. Do not get a room facing Hay Street as it will overlooking the roof of the restaurant.

Breakfast: A good variety of choices. They do not top up the emptied yoghurt bowl and fruit bowl after guests have emptied it. Front desk keeps wanting to charge me for breakfast but we had book a room with included breakfast.

Air-conditioning: Finicky, the temperature keeps fluctuating too cold or too warm, when set at 23 degC. The air-conditioning panel keep giving warning \"air filter needs maintenance.\"
