Not entirely the experience I was expecting to have. The hotel is labeled as a 5 star. Some features ring true to that assessment, but others quite frankly don’t. I have stayed in several other 5 stars in Bkk and this one by far is the less luxurious. First off, the room was nice, very clean, but tiny. You could barely walk past the bed and the tv. The layout has a weird design. The sink is in the room -white little to no space for anything at all. The washcloth was neatly folded but then when you use it you have to put it on the bed, as there is no space available near the sink. Also, there is no outlet by the sink: if you need to use the air dryer you have to unplug the coffee machine and dry your hair blind. There was a night stand lamp, but it was unplugged. There is only one plug by the night stand, it is either the phone charger or the lamp. When I tried to plug the lamp in, the outlet was loose so it would not hold. The pool area is nice. The fitness center needs some supervising.The equipment would be nice, if it were kept in good shape. Out of the two treadmills, only one worked. The elliptical machines both squeaked and the one I used was broken (didn’t register the change in levels).
I used the bar - no information it’s floor was available in the room information booklet. I had to go to the restaurant and ask. Opening hours are vague: I found it open at 5 on Friday, but it was closed shut at 6.30 pm on Saturday.
At check out they had me wait until room was checked.

Wow!!! We had the pleasure of staying here for 1 week and were absolutely heart broken to have to leave. The pool and sauna, the HUGE breakfast buffet, the unreal rooms/ views, and the central location- this was one of the best hotel experiences we have had. Some people say the room is worn down and in it was not- it was beautiful and polished.

Also, the doorman Alex was an absolute pleasure and made us feel so welcomed. We would come back just to see him again!

Very good location in Sukhumvit near Phrom Phong and Asok BTS Stations. You have shopping, restaurants and nightlife on your doorstep. I booked a Premier Single Room - VIP. The room and bathroom were big and spacious. Nice view. Complimentary water was provided daily. As a few others have mentioned, I think the hotel needs to renovate the bathroom, this looked old and in desperate need of being updated. The shower area was not safe. It is easy to create a swimming pool and slip. I showered in the bath which prevented water from flooding everywhere. Although my breakfast was included, I didn't bother as it didn't look very appealing. The concierge and housekeeping staff were very friendly and pleasant. Always helpful and kind. The staff at reception not so much. They were not friendly at all and some were rude. Checking in and out was like watching paint dry. So slow. I come to Bangkok often for work and usually stay in a 5 Star hotel. This is definitely not a 5 Star hotel in my opinion. I would say this is more a 4 Star hotel. I personally prefer something more luxurious. However, I would recommend this if you are looking for a decent, clean and comfortable hotel in a good location.

The stay was amazing! Had a complimentary upgrade to the corner duplex suite when it was time to check in which came as a surprise to me. The surrounding area is lively with the nearest BRT station 500m away. There’s a mall right in front of the hotel. The breakfast was good but nothing to shout about. Kudos to the concierge team they were very engaging with guests and suggested some places and attractions to visit!

This hotel is in the heart of the Sukhumit area of Bangkok with easy access to the BTS and MRT train lines. From the moment you check in, you experience the Thai hospitality. This hotel has everything. It even has a boxing ring to work on your Muay Thai. I would stay there again!

This was my fifth stay at S31 and I keep coming back for several reasons. The hotel is conveniently located, not far from both MRT and BTS stations. It`s based in the Em District with several large shopping malls around with tens of choices for both dining and shopping.

I usually stay at Duplex Room which is very spacious and I would say a very good value for the price.

The staff has always been very courteous and made the stay experience that much better.

And I last but not least, I have not mention breakfast. One of my favourite things about my stay with large variety of choices.

The concierge Jack made our stay! Also the staff in the breakfast restaurant were incredible. The hotel does need some updating. The lobby felt like something from 1997… also had a weird piano playing itself. Our room could have used a serious cleaning - carpet could have used a trim cause edge was all frayed. There were Lots of things that were really helpful - ie a bathroom as soon as you come in from outside on the ground level , a small seating area where you can charge your phone, (this was amazing for our last day as we had a late flight and had already checked out).the room was strangely set up - and had to keep our suitcases in the living room area downstairs with the main bathroom and bed upstairs. No space there to keep anything. Location was great and transportation was easy either by grab, metro or train. Having never been to Bangkok I had booked hotel based on “features”’they offered ie restaurants, rooftop bar and spa. Well - spa was closed, bar was not on the rooftop and restaurants did not have the vibe. BUT all this being said anything you could
Want or imagine is close by. The concierge service and amazing breakfast certainly made up for the downsides. Once we got used to the room configuration it was indeed nice to have the living room space.

Stayed there 10 years ago and had good memories. It’s still a fine choice at a decent price. But it does approaches the age of a refurb. I had to insist a room upgrade as a VIP member. I think Expedia isn’t doing enough to inform hotels about the perks it brings. It’s not the hotels fault.

Amazing value for the price! Close to BRT and has a nice cafe on site. Free buffett breakfast is delicious. Massage and spa site as well. 7 eleven is just down the way a few meters. I really enjoyed the quiet stay here. HIGHLY Recommend!!!

The A/C in the room has a very loud fan. If you turned it off the room got too hot . So we ended up managing the fan through the night. Across the street was a very bright electronic billboard which illuminate at 5 am and we had a hard time blocking out the light. The room itself was nice

Stayed 2 nights, then had to extend one night and accidentally booked online March 17 instead of February 17… went to reception and cleared it up and paid them for the correct night. She said I need to cancel with agoda. Needless to say, agoda contacted them to refund me and they refused. They just care about money no customer service.

It’s Regular rooms are better maintained

As a regular to S31. This time I chose the superior room that is like a junior suite.
Upon entering the room; the musky smell of a room unused was evident.
Nice big room with pantry area and big refrigerator.
The shower water pressure wasn’t strong enough compared to the smaller rooms.
There were smoking guest in neighbouring rooms as the smell of burnt tobacco was strong on the 12th floor.

After this week’s stay I now prefer the 13th floor regular rooms which we get out of the lift and walk up spiral stairs or use the auxiliary lift.

Excellent location and good breakfast spread.

The layout of the room was awkward. The bathroom sink was located separate from the shower and toilet under a \"shelf\" with no vanity. The end of the bed was very close to the wall. We hit our foot against the bed several time while passing by.

the property, room is quite old already. the room is not property cleaned. floor was dusty, sofa is very dirty and old, I just asked for an extra duvet to cover it so we can sit on it. but the location is excellent. just right outside of emsphere mall, near terminal 21 and 2 mrt atations. breakfast buffet us also great with many food options.

Great location between PromPong and Asok BTS train station. Shopping and restaurants and good massage centres are within 15 minutes to hotel.
Good crews work in S31 hotel.
I enjoyed separate shower and bath tub. Rooms were clean.
Good gym, but some faulty machines need to be upgraded

What a great place to stay. The staff is amazing and go above and beyond to help accommodate your needs. Jack was working the doors in morning while we exited and always greeted us and conversed with us. He would also ask what are plans were for the day and if they had anything the hotel offers to make the day easier or if they could provide transportation. The hotel is just a 5 min walk if that to the BTS and it is very easy to get around the city with it. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. It’s truly a five star experience.

The place has good staff- but the rooms were very dirty and the carpets are old the couches had stains on them - shower heads old- tv in the room doesn’t work- my safe in the closet died after the first day of staying and they tried to replace battery but still had issues- the spa isn’t working or closed- the wifi is weak in the room- towels are very old and robes the same.
I wouldn’t recommend.

It was a very comfortable stay from 27 - 30 Oct with a seamless check in to my room. Concierge staff were all very attentive to my needs, especially Mr Jack when I had trouble getting transport to my destination. Location of the hotel was directly opposite the new EmSphere Shopping Centre which was fantastic ! and also near to Phrom Phong BTS. Wish I had stayed longer...

Overall hotel is good except the hotel room aircon/blower was very noisy & aircon could not adjust to 25 degree. Technician was unable to resolve the super noisy aircon/blower & not able to adjust the temperature. He said such was normal. Could not sleep well due to noisy aircon/blower & aircon temperature too cold.

Comfortable stay with seamless connectivity

Enjoyed the stay. Very comfortable beds, and all amenities compact into a neatly designed room. Air-conditioning is very effective. A 10 min walk to Asok/Sukhumvit metro stations makes it convenient to reach different parts of bangkok. Shopping malls like Emquarters, Terminal 21 etc are walking distance. Highly recommended

Cleanliness and Comfort Issues

I have stayed here many times over the years and seen this place decline. Was down on a short trip and arrived to dirty room with hair all over the floor and dirty toilet. It took staff a long time to respond which wasted a lot of my time. Moved me to another room which they said would be the easiest thing to do but same thing so had to point out all that needed to be cleaned and wait for the room to be ready. Breakfast has a lot to choose from but quality has dropped over the years as it tries to appeal to western and Chinese tastes at the expense of quality and local foods.
