The Good: great location in the Sukhumvit area, beds and pillows surprisingly comfortable and rooms are very quiet, sound proof.
The Bad: online pictures are very deceptive. There is practically no lobby, it’s a reception desk against the wall and total 4 chairs against the opposite wall in front of the elevator. The bar is actually outside, at the front of the hotel, open air, very basic like a street side stall. Not sure how it qualifies as a 4 star accommodation.

I had booked 4 rooms for 7 nights (28 nights total) and at the checkout they wanted to charge for a stained towel and a missing small spoon in one of the rooms. We asked them to check again and they found the spoon. Eventually they gave up charging for the towel after we told them about cockroaches running around in one of the rooms and showers alternating between cold and burning hot water. They asked me to sign some paper and said all is ok. I did pay 300 bahts for a missing card key per their policy

This is not up to Best Western's standards at all. My friend also stayed there and he said he would never stay there again. My room wasn't vacuumed the entire time I was there and the bathroom floor wasn't swept or mopped. The shower drained very slowly and shower door didn't stay close. It only had two English speaking channels on TV. Thai people aren't staying in the hotel usually and yet most channels are in the Thai language. Thermastat didn't work so it was either freezing or hot.

This hotel is located on a popular hotel Soi. ( a Courtyard, Novotel and others). Two wonderful spas are just across the street ( no more than 3 minutes walk)

It is around a 10 min walk to BTS, but in BKK , that’s what you do, you walk. I would not let that deter you.

The staff was nice and attentive, Pop was especially helpful and kind.

The most critical aspect they fell short on was they mislead you about the bed being king size. It was actually 2 twins pushed together. I would like to know if US hotels did that what the reaction would be. I feel cheated because your reputation as a brand chose to cut corners on the most important element a BED!!

Great mid range hotel.

Very nice, clean and modern interiors. Nice sized room and loved the location. Staff were friendly and helpful and I would def stay at this hotel again in the future.

Nice restaurants nearby - one wish would’ve been that they told me about some discounts for guests at some of the restaurants around like The Deck etc.

The hotel is in a great location on Soi 20 and actually very quiet and off the main road.

Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Standard of room for the price was really good and everything worked.

My only negative point is that when I checked out they wanted housekeeping to check the room before I left. I really do not like hotels that do that because the inference is you have stolen something or damaged the hotel in some way. I also did not want to wait for 10 minutes for the room to be checked as I needed to get to the airport for a flight. The hotel has credit card details and contact information so no need to keep people hanging round.

Best Western Sukhumvit Soi 20

The staff are friendly and responsive. When I called the front desk about the water pressure, they responded in minutes and resolved the problem. The bed is excellent with good quality linens and towels and the room is spacious with a couch. On the downside, the restaurants and pool were all closed for renovations! The room lighting is a bit dim even with all lights on and also tricky as you can adjust the brightness. There are privacy curtains and blackout curtains. Sadly, the windows were absolutely filthy, but this could be due to the highrise construction nearby. They have handy reading lights on each side of the bed, but no power outlets, though there are plenty on the desk. Finally, the couch could use a good cleaning. The WIFI speed was not very reliable. The location is convenient with quick access to my favorite breakfast restaurant on Sukhumvit and the BTS is a ~10 min walk. With some small adjustments their rating would improve.

Don’t stay here!!! It is not safe!!!

The hotel is not ready to have guests. Very difficult to find the hotel because the sign is broken. It is very dark in front. I arrived at 7 pm and couldn’t see the hotel.

After I got my key card, I open the room and there are people inside!!! The front desk gave me the wrong key card. So she gave me another key card which there are no people inside but nothing in the room works! No electricity at all.

Also there were some construction in the hotel going on even at 7 pm at night. So I decided to move out right away and walk to stay at Novotel (very nice hotel).

I warn you, if you don’t want to have worst experience… don’t stay here!!

Yet Hotels..com and Creit card to Pay Affirm were not on the same page , so i ended up paying two night from my own personal card rather then affirm as what was mentioned.so this was frustrating. The breakfast was a seperate prive yet reasonable 13 dollars for 2 people, excellent staff at breakfast area.

Mattress is bad and caused back ache after a few nights stay. Overall, location, cleanliness, staff friendliness are pleasing. Staff offered help to get a taxi to airport. Thank you.

bkk 2020 new year countdown

The condition of the hotel tried to be at its best rating however it still requires a renovation. Floor trap are too small for water to flow efficiently. Restaurant is located at roof causing cockroaches to roam into rooms. Guests cannot rest fully thinking that there might be cockroaches entering into their room. I had my room changed after a full sized cockroach appeared in my room and the staffs appear as though this is a daily routine. Towels need to change every 6months.

Having said the above, staffs service recovery efforts are top top except for cockroach solution. As they appear to be at their wits’ ends too...

Avoid this Hotel

This hotel should be a 2 star hotel at best. The towels are old and ripped, this is a cheap motel with very dark even when all the lights are turned on. This hotel is nowhere close to the Best Western Plus standard.

Good choice hotel!

This hotel is very convenient and priced competitively as well. I love the fact that it’s close to almost everything and even has a wide selection of food around the area. I give credit to the hotel for not charging corkage. Also, I appreciate Best Western for allowing me to leave my luggage (3pcs) for almost a week as a travelled to Beijing-Shanghai.

Recommend the Hotel

The room was clean and staff was great, service was good, GREAT water presser in the shower :-). Updated and well maintained bathroom. Room was a little small, but the price was great.

Roaches in the two rooms that i stayed in. Hairdryer in one of the room broke down.
Overall the staffs tried to do their best to change the room and in general very helpful.

A great small hotel very located. Modern and clean. Friendly professional staff. No pool but no problem for short stay. The Soi is quiet and is just 10 mins walk to shops and lots of great restaurants and nightlife. Yes will stay again.

At 6am in the morning, my husband woke up to a wet floor by the entrance area caused by a leaking air condition. Maintenance came within minutes and fixed the problem pronto while my husband watched and I slept. But otherwise, everything works, room is clean, shelves are dusted, place is quiet, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the price is right. Wish they had a continental breakfast at least with the price. Checked neighboring hotel like Bally Suites and they have a full breakfast at a lower room rate.

FB Staff need to pay attention on details when guest are ordering room service... The food order was taking more than an hour and I have to call again to follow up.. Second follow up call they were confused of my room number... Food quality was not worth the price.. The rice taste like under cooked or was just reheated from the oven... Overall sleep quality was ok...

Almost all towels provided had mold on them.

Shower hose was leaking and front desk mentioned will get it fixed but was not done. Had to get housekeeping to come when we were back in room to fix.

Otherwise hotel location is ok, with free tuk tuk service to Asoke BTS station, although we did not use this service.
Spacious room but no electrical sockets at bedside.

Small scale hotel in good location for visitors of the Sukhumvit area. Comfortable room with all you need including decent wifi and LAN connection for laptop. King bed is kingsize and comfortable, bathroom (shower only) is good size, nice and practical layout. Will return.

No problems with hotel except 2 twin beds pushed together makes a king size bed but is not a king bed. Also, no electrical outlets on either side if bed😞. So, not being able to use phone or internet while in bed was an issue. Good location, friendly and helpful staff. Did not eat or drink there or use pool. Would stay again but I love trying new places so would like to experiment in different areas.
