The hotel is really wonderfully located, close to plenty of restaurants, bars, shopping, etc., and the Asok and Sukhumvit transit stations.

The staff were so friendly and willing to help; I felt very welcome from the moment the bellhop opened my taxi door.

I only used the pool once during my stay, but I was totally happy with it. The pool isn't huge but the hotel is not huge either, so I thought it was just the right size. (When I was there there was only one other person using it).

My room was spacious, bright, and thoughtfully laid out. I had a large walk-in shower with a rain head and a handheld shower, a large bathtub, a mini-fridge, a small desk area for working, a large, comfy bed, and a balcony with a small table and chairs. I was only on the 6th floor, but even so, I was happy with the view of the city.

The room decor/condition was not brand-new, with some scuffed furniture etc. But it was clean and big and I felt very comfortable and relaxed there. The AC unit looked old but worked very well.

The night before check-out I stopped by the desk to ask about a car to the airport, and they took care of arranging it for me at a surprisingly reasonable flat rate.

I would definitely stay here again.

Mermaid 3 nights in bangkok

Hotel was good , bit dated but room was a very good size , I had the corner balcony room , bed was very soft , bathroom was huge big rainfall shower and a bath. TV channels was very limited but ubdint go to Bangkok to stay in the room hahaha. My only gripe and it's a small one is the cups in the room for tea and coffee were tiny , get bigger cups or mugs mermaid please. All the staff were excellent tho, great stay.

Hotel Mermaid Bangkok is a rip-off. They scammed me out of 4,000 baht for a single bedsheet, two towels, and a blanket cover over a blood stain that could easily be washed. Staff are rude, unhelpful, and take 45+ minutes just to bring water to the room. Service is terrible.

I’ve stayed here twice before, but never again. This place survives by overcharging and mistreating guests. Stay far away.

Lovely stay at this charming hotel in Bangkok! Staff were so friendly and helpful, pool was great after long hot days and it’s in a very good location on the Sukhumvit road. Lots of bars, restaurants and shops easily walkable and it’s just off the road so it’s quiet. Metro and overground train stations also very nearby.

They no longer have a restaurant at the hotel nor do they offer dining options such as room service which they advertise. For a 4 star I thought these features were required however you are in Bangkok and dining options are abundant.

Hotel Mermaid is clean comfortable with a spacious room. The staff are helpful and friendly. The only issue (if you can call it one) is you have to go to hotel next door for breakfast, the breakfast is excellent with wide range of choices. This is my third visit now. A recommendation in its self.

The hotel itself was ok. The price was right and it was clean. The website said there were restaurants and a bar, there was not. There was no place on site to eat or have a drink. The location was great. Walkable to a lot of fun places in Bangkok. If you want a nice clean room and dont mind walking a little, it’s perfect.

We had a room with a King bed. It was very comfy! The pool is a good size (pool is not heated at end of January, so it was refreshing).
Super accommodating staff! Can't say enough about them!
Great walkability to the bus stops, the BTS and Metro lines at Terminal 21 (food court there has nice cheap food there) 7/11's are close.
Room was quiet enough (heard a few muffled conversations but was all quiet when we went to bed - wear ear plugs if you need to).
Many close eating establishments, massage places, street food at different times too.
Only minor issue was the flooring in our room. The click and lock laminate floors had lots of gaps in each row.
We will be staying there again in a few. Weeks when we finish up our trip! Easy to get around!

Amazing staff, clean and comfortable rooms! From check in to check out, our stay was fantastic. Everyone is so kind, especially front door man. I had an issue with a noise outside my room from a pump and it couldn’t be fixed for a few days so they offered to change my room. They truly go above and beyond for their guests. Very walkable to lots of restaurants and bars, but on a side street so it is still fairly quiet. 10/10 would definitely stay again!

This property is conveniently located around several eateries, bars and two malls. As far as location, cleanliness, and staff are concerned, this hotel receives five stars. That being stated, the hotel is in serious need of remodeling. The room I stayed in, the floor boards were separating and the room needed a fresh coat of paint. They also need to provide soap for hand washing after using the toilet. You have to use the body wash that’s located in the shower to wash your hands.

There are huge malls to take away your shopping pleasure and unwind your hunger. The location being in the lively district presented many attractions from activities like shopping and eat around. Definitely a good place for a holiday stay if you need a place to eat and enjoy. It was worth it.

I really don’t like giving poor reviews but this hotel is not what the photos or description states. It was very run down in the communal areas, there was no bar or restaurant, the areas were there but not been used in years, we had to go to a neighbouring hotel for breakfast. Saying all this the room was clean and spacious and the doorman was very polite.

Soi Sukhamvit 26 is a small street off the main drag, but the hotel is not far down the street. You can get off the MRT/BTS at Asok station and walk to the hotel without any difficulty at all (and I'm 70 years old!) There is construction on a building at the entrance to the street, but there was no noise inside the hotel and it was very peaceful.

This is the go to Hotel that I stay at whenever I visit Bangkok. The staff there is very attentive to your needs, and are very nice. There is a bar in the Hotel that has live music during weekdays as well as Saturdays; Jazz, Rock and Blues depending on the day you visit the bar.

Very pleased with our stay here, the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was compact but clean and 1.2m deep which was good for safety.
Our hotel in Phuket, Deevana Plaza, got cancelled at midnight the day before arrival.
Apparently it was closed for renovation since May, but they are still taking bookings!
The manager at the Mermaid let us use their phone for 2 hours to sort out the mess and book another hotel ❤️
Good location for nightlife, buses and shopping, short walk to the Pier 21 shopping mall. Loved the Ganesh shrine with marigolds outside. Bolt taxi is only 400 baht to the airport, about £10 👌
Cosy home from home, would definitely book again 👍

I did not think the property was worth the so high cost for staying there. Shower was not clean toilet seat fixings were loose and dirty. I was offered a upgrade for no extra charge but email but no one ever approached me to get it sorted, hence no upgrade.

It was clean however the facility is a little out dated. The shower from the ceiling was very weak and the toilet seat had a crack. The shower handle was placed upside down so i couldn't shower in hot the first day. But the staff were nice and the room itself is big. Location wise, not bad but a little far from the train station.

Nice stay, good hotel. My non smoking room, if it was non smoking, had only quit very recently. The water temperature in the shower was very difficult to control and sometimes dangerously hot, and water pressure in the bath required a lot of planning ahead to achieve a full bath. Otherwise perfect and still a great choice in this area of the city.

Price is Ok, a bit run down. Maint required on lots of things. As another put it, I would spend little more and get better deal.
1. TV channels were on and off, gray and fussy.
2. Floor wood tiles are to loose and show huge gaps 15mm.
3. Wall has some damage to it, small but just fix it is better.
4. Not so quiet.
5. pool was a little slimy. Was ok but
6. Double jackcoke from bar, HUGE Price, was NOT DOUBLE. WILL NEVER give them my money for poor drink service at that price.EVER! Much like all of Bkk.

I normally stay in larger hotels in Thailand, and i have been many times, but never again, The standards were just as high, but the staff were so friendly, everyone knew me, it was brilliant. The location was perfect, everything just a short walk away, I could see the busy Bangkok life from my room, which was like a silent oasis. They treated me and my girlfriend like we were their oldest best customers.
