Just returned from a family birthday holiday at the Rixos. On the whole we were impressed with the hotel. The only downside was how things changed when Ramadan started. It would have been totally fine if both hotel and Expedia explained all the differences and that this was reflected in the price but there was zero transparency on this prior even though we asked this before we travelled. We did talk to the hotel they gave us a iftar dinner but this was comparable to what we paid for so didn't feel like any proper gesture. Manager dealing with this was kind and seemed like his hands was tied but it's a shame as really the price diff of pre Ramadan should have been refunded to us.
Positives - staff around the restaurant the manager reception staff and hotel were amazing and couldn't do enough for you. Kids club was very good and our girls loved going there for the activities. Pools were warm and overall the hotel was extremely clean. Kids discos and shows were good again these stopped during Ramadan but we weren't aware this was going to happen.
Negatives - communication between hotel reservations and guests prior was poor. No replies on questions re Ramadan. Bed was not set up for the children when we informed we would be arriving after midnight. Details minimal on what was included in the all inclusive package both on hotel website and Expedia site. Shame as the reservation department did let down the staff that worked hard at the hotel itself.

The room was good but the so call city view is a car park, most of the staff we great and very friendly.
The so called all inclusive was disappointing and probably the worst one I’ve ever been, the food in the buffet was very good. We ate there most nights as we could only get into one of the à la carte restaurants on one evening as it was fully booked the whole 7 nights of our stay which was very disappointing. The burger and chips option by the pool was worse than Mc Donald’s.
We would go back to Doha again but wouldn’t stay at this hotel.

Staff 5 star hotel 5 star food and drinks 3 star. Food in buffet tepid and repetitive. All inclusive restricted menu in speciality restaurants and drinks. Not all drinks branded. Very poor value for money on the all inclusive which wasn’t explained on check in they basically lied to get you to pay the extra which you didn’t get. Wouldn’t recommend certainly won’t ever go back.

Only downside is it is a little remote for doing stuff in the city centre but only 10mins in a taxi. On the other hand its location is very close to the airport!

Firstly the staff are amazing. I could not fault any of the waiters and waitresses in the restaurants. They were very helpful, always with a smile on their face. We have stayed in many rixos hotels in the past in other countries and the standard is what made us book the rixos in Doha.
However we did have a few issues which did unfortunately did not make our stay as good as it should have been for a rixos branded hotel. We also found for an all inclusive there were a lot of extra chargeable things in the stay which we felt was not right given the amount of money we had already paid for the stay.
On our first night we went up to bed and opened the covers to find there was stains on the bedding. So we had to call housekeeping and wait for them to change the bedding.
We booked the Rasa restaurant and our chicken in the starters was raw which two of our party ate and we subsequently were sick the next day with an upset stomach.

We returned to this hotel, which we had greatly appreciated in the past. Unfortunately, we noticed that the overall attention to guests is not quite at the same level as before, and there were a few unpleasant situations at the beginning of our stay.

That said, I would like to highlight the professionalism of the Guest Relations Manager Farouk Bouyahya, who promptly and effectively stepped in to resolve everything in a smooth and efficient manner. This intervention truly made a difference to our experience.

A special thank you also goes to Othman Yousfi in the dining room: attentive to details, polite, and always available. His care and service made our meals very enjoyable.
We would also like to thank the chef Hafid, who prepared an excellent pasta — simply delicious and a true highlight of our dining experience.

Overall, our stay turned out to be positive, although with some reservations. We sincerely hope the hotel will return to the high standards of excellence we had experienced in the past.

Buffet restaurant too small and cramped. A very large amount of people in one group took o we the buffet . They took your table and your seats if you stood up! These people were so rude . Even staff were agreeing with us .
Some areas near thenoool slippery and people had fallen over in other areas and had fractures to lower limbs .

Our stay at Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha was amazing from start to finish! The staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome right away. The room was spotless with a beautiful view, and we loved relaxing by the pool and on the private beach. The breakfast buffet was delicious with plenty of variety, and the location made it easy to get to the Corniche and other attractions. We’ll definitely stay here again on our next trip to Doha!

Also we went during Ramadan, my wife was pregnant and wanted to drink in the foyer area(which is allowed), however one of the security officer was very rude and told her not to drink, even though it was clear she was pregnant.

Second Stay This Year – Warm Staff & Beautiful Sea View

This was my second visit to Rixos Gulf within the year, and once again, the warmth and friendliness of the staff made it a truly welcoming experience. The rooms are lovely — bright, clean, and beautifully designed — and the sea view is always a treat to wake up to.

A big shoutout to the team outside who are consistently helpful, always smiling, and quick to open doors and assist with Ubers — their attentiveness really stands out.

A few things to note for improvement:
•I was surprised to see that the pool near the beach, which was previously adults-only, now includes children. While I completely understand the importance of family spaces, it did make it harder to fully relax at times. Since there are two pools, it might be worth considering keeping one dedicated to adults for a more balanced experience.
•Our room was cleaned daily during our stay, but on the day before checkout, we returned to find it hadn’t been done. We asked and it was sorted quickly, but it felt a little out of step with the otherwise consistent service. Not a huge issue, just a detail that stood out.

Lastly, while the food was enjoyable — especially at breakfast — it would be a nice touch to have themed dinner nights for more variety across the week.

Overall, still a great experience. The genuine kindness of the staff and the setting by the sea make it a memorable place to stay.

Hotel is only a ten minute taxi ride from the airport. The staff are all welcoming and friendly. We had a sea view room which was clean and comfortable.
There were plenty of sunbeds, staff removed towels that had been left there without occupancy.
The buffet restaurant was good, if a touch busy at times but the best was the steak restaurant. Not only was the food top quality but it is also a nice quiet place to have pre or post dinner drinks. The staff at the outdoor bar were good as were the staff at the snack bar.
The city is accessible by uber or taxi. Overall a really pleasant stay.

My stay was not as relaxing as hoped-very loud music is played until approximately 11pm, this might be quieter on the non-sea view side though. Finding a table for lunch each day was challenging and took 10-15 mins, the restaurant is not large enough and the layout means you constantly bump into people. The staff were lovely though!

We just wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone at Rixos for looking after us so well during our week long stay at the hotel last week. The hotel is excellently appointed, and in a good location making it easily accessible to the main attractions, and our room was perfect. The food at both breakfast and for evening dinner as part of our half board package was really good, with plenty of choice and variety.

Overall, we had a lovely time and everyone without exception was warm, friendly and nothing but helpful. Just a notable mention however for everyone who works in the Farmhouse restaurant at breakfast and for dinner. They work tirelessly and always with a smile. It’s really hard to single out any one individual given everyone was so attentive and welcoming, but a special thank you to Duncan and Kiki for their hard work and care and attention they gave us at breakfast and evening dinner - they are a huge credit and ambassadors for Rixos Doha. We really hope to be able to come back to Doha and the Rixos again.

I believe the dining area could be more spacious, as its current capacity seems limited. The tables are not always prepared on time and may not be cleaned thoroughly. Additionally, the glasses in both the dining and pool areas often appear to be stained. The towels provided at the poolside seem worn out. The Rixos Gulf Hotel is absolutely magnificent. From our arrival to our departure we experienced high quality service.
The staff at the reception desk are welcoming and always ready to help even when we checked in late at night.
The rooms are quite spacious with tv, iron, safe and coffe/tea facilities. The bathroom is big and well stocked with hygiene products. We were lucky to get two intecommunicating rooms. Sameer looked after us and made sure that we had all we needed (and extra).
We had only half board. Both meals were varied and although some dishes were available every day there was quite a variety and carered for all. Waiters were attentive and always ready to get our table ready or bring drinks. Some part of the restaurant had A/C on high so it was quite cold.
The hotel is on the beach which is well kept with plenty of sunbed and free towels. The sea water was quite cold. There are water sports available, two heated swimming pools and a jacuzzi. There is even a gym with separate female room.
The hotel offers locker rooms if your flight is after the check out time.
We spent an unforgettable holiday! Thank you to everyone at Rixos Gulf!

The children loved the hotel as the animation team were great and kids club had activities for the children throughout the day. The pool was perfect kept at a nice tempreture considering the chilly weather at times and the food was great at the Farmhouse.

The property is nice and the staff are very courteous, polite and friendly. The rooms are spacious and big enough for a family of 4. Being vegetarian, we found the breakfast spread was good with sufficient veg options. Valet parking makes it really convenient if you travel with your car. It was our wedding anniversary and the hotel gave us little treats to make our day special. All in all, would recommend this property.

We had a terrible experience with access to the hotel during a football match which was not the hotel's mistake but definitely keep in mind and check with the hotel about any events in the stadium nearby.

I stayed here in January/February and wrote a five star review. I chose to return on the basis of my experience, this time with my husband! I was in regular contact with the hotel in the run up to the holiday which made our poor check in experience very disappointing. We were not assigned to the type of room we had booked. The hotel did respond the next day but as we were there for short time , it did impact on our stay. The reason I have still given a five star review is that ultimately the guest relations manager went out of her way to seek to provide some redress. All the things I had enjoyed previously were much same, despite the fact that the hotel was extremely busy resulting in the buffet and pool areas being particularly stretched. As one of the pool areas is adults only - and extremely well policed- this minimised the negative impact there. The attitude of some guests, particularly towards staff was bordering on unacceptable. Customer facing staff and dining options, particularly in the speciality restaurants, were a highlight. Our bedroom was extremely comfortable and well serviced.

Just been Rixos Gulf view for 10 days, what a great friendly hotel. I have been to many countries and was wondering whether Doha would be anything like Dubia? Well its not, Dubia is decadent luxury a bit over the top for some. Doha is more relaxed less extravagant and feels like it knows itself better.. I feel this hotel fits into what Doha feels like itself. I love luxury, don’t get me wrong, but some people don’t like it when their every move/encounter is catered for.
I loved the hotel as the rooms were fantastic, we had a two bedroomed as our daughter came with us. All drinks in rooms were replenished every day, loads of water in drinks cabinet as well as other branded cans and also coffee machine and pods too. Decent size toiletries too. Robes, slippers, gorgeous fluffy towels.Iron/board/hair dryer all there.
Outside of room again, everything you could want. Food area, was always well stocked and staff on the ball for clearing away dishes, there was a lot of food to choose from and mostly food was good quality and well cooked
but some room for improvement if hotel wants to be seen as luxury, but only in main AI Farmhouse area. Mr Tailors & Rasa food was exceptional. I’m a big foodie (love nothing more than going to Michelin star restaurants, for reference) and these two restaurants were as good as any restaurant you would pay £75 a head in.
Pool area’s were great and staff were exceptional, always checking if you wanted anything.More parasols though as heat is 🔆

A nice pleasant stay but breakfast, dinner and lunch could be better, same meal items served most days, we were there for a week so we opted to eat out instead of making the most of half board. No changing room attached to the gym, have to use the spa changing rooms which is not that close. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. Remember to take your own toothbrush and toothpaste even tho it’s 5 star, when you ask for more they only provide one at a time-cheap quality toothpaste and toiletries. Other than that rest of the stay was average! Iron wasn’t working well but replaced quickly, hairdryer very hard to get working as you constantly have to hold a button down to power it up! Beach views are obscured as it’s near a marina port. I would say it felt more like a 4 star hotel.

Such a lovely time we had here. We were welcomed by Sonia at reception who was very attentive and friendly. The rooms were so clean and we were given a free upgrade so please ask for one. There was a lovely team at the entrance always on hand to help . Special mention to Oye!!! Such a lovely exceptional gentleman. He even knew how to collapse our toddler’s stroller before we did 😂. Always had a smile on his face and happy to help.

Breakfast wasn’t amazing. It was so repetitive and was just Turkish cuisine which if you’re not acquainted to won’t be enjoyable. So please bring more variety there.

In the restaurant Nazaria was always on hand with a smile to serve. The chefs were always on hand for special requests and special mention to Pardeep who went out of his way to serve us fish.

Rooms were so clean we got complimentary anniversary decor … thanks to Sonia and Lanka who even left hand written notes. We felt so special.

Kids club felt a bit deserted. a lot of programs were just getting canceled. Some of the staff made very little effort with our toddler and had an inclination to the older kids while some just sat there on their phones. The toys there are old and in need of replacement. So kids club needs to get better.

Rooms were great!! Getting cleaned everyday we absolutely loved it. They were very flexible with cleaning times too.

The front staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and convenient whilst we travelled and stayed here as a big group.
The restaurant recommended were fantastic
And the spa treatments were worth every riyal!
