Over 40 minutes wait in line to check in and the same to check out. Only 1 staff available for full line up. Paid over 15$ for the continental breakfast: 1 white piece of toast, 1/4 of a starwberry, 2 blueberry, 1 slice of melon and 1 of papaya (theif).Was still starving and had to buy a 13$ cookie at the hotel store. Shuttle was easy to use though.

Didn’t have a chance to use the pool. Had to get in line 3 times before we got our room. Got there at 230 and didn’t get our room till 5. Was not organzied at all. With airport shuttle was even worse. With flights leaving at 7 should have a bit more of an organized system on time slots for airport shuttle when so many are needing. In the morning it was just as chaotic getting the shuttle.
Rooms were nice, but no extra blankets around and only 3 towels when we had 4 people in a room. Not really wanting to go back in line regarding towels, as there always seemed to be a line of at least 10 people for the reception. Would rather not stay here again and go to a different hotel with morning flight and pay for the airport shuttle if it’s less chaotic

The airport shuttle is advertised as 24hr. We, and quite a few other guests were required to be at the airport for 430am. The first shuttle did not leave until 5am. We had to pay $30US for a taxi. That is horrible/false advertising.

We always enjoy the pool There is always plenty seating around it , in or out of the shade.
Our only disappointment on this stay was the restaurant. Last year the food was excellent. This year we found it overcooked and not very well presented
The WiFi was okay but when we had a bit of an emergency with no water the morning we were leaving we found the phone had no cord so had to get dressed and go to front desk. The power then went out so no lift to get back to our room

Poor checking, had to go back to the desk 3 times, waited over an hour past check in time. Gave us a free breakfast for our troubles, got there and breakfast was a coffee and a muffin waited 15 minutes for the manager to come and give us a real breakfast, the food was okay. We had arrange a shuttle for the next day, shuttle was late, no one could give us accurate information when it was going to come so we could assess if we needed to take an UBER. It eventually came a couple minutes later. Room was clean newly decorated

We booked this hotel based firstly on brand and secondly due to the fact they advertise a 24 hour shuttle to the airport. When checking in, we were advised the shuttle only started at 5:00 AM which did not work for us and many others who were in line to check in. The hotel did not even remotely seem interested in attempting to arrange the shuttle service for us and many others in line. Customer Service does not seem to be a priority here. Only when we went down to the counter a second time was an option provided which was a taxi at an additional cost to us. (the taxi service was terrific with great customer service) Our room was comfortable enough until the air conditioner stopped working which meant a poor nights sleep (if any sleep) prior to our early departure. I actually feel the hotel owes us a partial if not total reimbursement.

Wrong room assigned, but corrected. 4th floor room seems to have been updated compared to the 3rd floor room were first assigned. Airport shuttle didn’t start early enough for our flight, and the earliest shuttle was full. People arriving later than us had the same problem. Person checking us in was great finding a taxi for $30 U.S. Gift shop was supposed to open until 10:00 p.m. but was closed at 9:35 p.m. For these reasons, I would try another hotel in the airport area.

The staff at the hotel were excellent- check in process simple, staff very helpful as we were travelling with young children. The hotel rooms are spacious and were spotless. Housekeeping staff were also excellent.

Some staff courteous but some slow or disinterested in assisting. Bed and bath clean and room spacious but due to humidity which must be a battle at this location we found a mushroom growing next to the base board near air conditioner. Bartender is very friendly and works harder than anyone in the restaurant.

The staff is excellent. Friendly and helpful. Check in was a breeze.
The food in the restaurant was delicious and our server Jeisen (forgive the spelling) was phenomenal!
The rooms are a bit worn and things like the ice buckets and closet doors need replacing, but the bed is one of the most comfortable I have slept in.
They have no smoking area (ashtrays) on the entire property so you are forced to put butts in the street or grass. The dichotomy is they do sell cigarettes in the gift shop????
Although the property interior is beautiful, I do not feel it the best value for money.

Where do i even start. This was not a good experience. Disappointed all around with the experience except for a few things. CONS: booked 2 king rooms and got 1 king 1 double and told \"oh sorry theres nothing we can do to give you the other king room you booked as we are all booked up,\" 1 room was available at check in (king room) and told i had to return a few hours later for the second surprisethat was the double, stood in line for check in twice for 45 min minimum both times, only 2 washing machines available and constantly occupied (never got to use) stood un line to get tokens for the washer and drier and they were $5.50 each (wash and dry approx $11), tried to book the shuttle for the airport a few days prior and advised to ask reception at checkin (the day before), advised to speak to the next representative for the shuttle when getting the 2nd room i booked and by then the 5am shuttle i needed was full (max 9 people) and advised to take (pay) an Uber, the bed was hard and uncomfortable and the my bathroom had a foul poop smell. PROS: the pool was nice (in the sun all afternoon), the room was esthetically nice and had nice pillows, the restaurant had a very good meat lovers pizza but watered down sangria.

So I stay in hotels 75 nights or more a year and here is what went wrong on this stay.
1 check in took around 22 minutes per person so showed up there were two people
Doing check in and 3 people in front of me check in took 36 minutes.
2 paid Expedia $31 dollars extra to have two breakfasts for my self and the wife and hotel says nope no breakfast included and says this is a normal problem with Expedia
3 tried to get ahold of a human at Expedia spent 30 minutes trying to do this they tried to get ahold of the hotel but the front desk never answers the phone.
4 booked a suite room is large enough but very cheaply done and there was no thought to use so things are all in weird spots
5 shower is either Luke warm or burn your skin off and and changes all the time you are under the water.

The room had a stuffy smell to it that was quite bothersome. The front desk staff was not very engaging, one of the other front desk staff came over to let me know that they would be right with me while the front desk person infront of me who was supposed to be helping me just kept her head down. I just did not feel very welcome or acknowledged. I will say the pool and restaurant staff were lovely.

CHECK-IN was an awful experience! It took 1.5 hours, standing in a line up that simply didn’t move. I fail to understand HOW it could take so long to check people into their hotel rooms. 2 staff that worked slower than turtles. It was infuriating and everyone in the lines was complaining.

This long proceed nearly made us late for returning our car rental. For what you charge, this is not acceptable. Two young female travellers in front of us, were laying on the floor with their heads on their bags…assuming they just arrived to Costa Rica from a long flight, we’re exhausted and just wanted to get some rest. DO BETTER HILTON!!!!

Loved how close it was to the airport. Loved the shuttle driver. The wait to check in was horrible. Only place we stayed in Costa Rica with no hair dryer. The food was horrible. There was one waitress and the food was cold and didn’t taste good. We got the Surf and turf and it was the worst meal in our whole stay in Costa Rica. There was coffee and green juice and water for the very long wait while we checked in. Beds were comfy and there was hot water.

The check-in process at this Hilton Garden Inn was the absolute worst experience we have ever had in the 20+ years of being honors members. The service was extraordinarily slow, very unfriendly, on the verge of rude! The front desk staff moved at a snails pace. Rooms were not ready. The lobby was full of very unhappy customers.

The hotel is a nice property and very conveniently located to the airport. The staff was very friendly and was doing their best.

It took two hours to get our room after check in, long wait lines during check in, service in restaurant and bar is VERY slow.

I do not fault the support staff. Rather, lack of management/supervisor support and employees not fully trained with zero oversight of any sort of management. Bless their hearts for keeping a positive, kind attitude.
