The views from the property were absolutely gorgeous. The staff seemed very eager to do whatever it took to make you happy. Unfortunately, the property is crumbling down around them and the staff are to be commended for doing their best in spite of the lack of property maintenance.

On a a.imé là où on était, on avait pas de vue sur l'océan mais on était proche, les piscines sont adaptées à tous les âges, chambres confortables mais un peu moins propre, par contre c'est un endroit que je recommande à toute personne qui veut aller en vacances et oubliée les trains trains de tous les jours.
Un grand merci à toute l'équipe qui a fait de notre séjour un moment magnifique.

We were skeptical about this place based on the reviews here and on maps, but we’re glad we stayed at Condovac. We had a great stay, with just few inconveniences.

The bad: we paid for a romantic room, which had a jacuzzi. The room itself was great, but the jacuzzi has NO hot water, and that’s a known issue to the staff, so the fact that they still advertise this room as having a working jacuzzi is misleading at best. We complained about this and they moved us to a different type of accommodation where things were a little dated but worked fine.
The hotel ATM was broken, so we couldn’t have cash for tips or whatnot.
Make sure to arrange your transportation back to the airport early on, preferably with a company not affiliated to the hotel. The taxi they had arranged canceled on us last minute, claiming the card machine had “just broken” and asking us to stop at the atm on the way. Pretty sketchy.

Meals: Breakfasts were excellent. Lunch and dinner are ok. Plenty of fresh fruit available at those times, which was awesome. The snacks could be better, though.

Now the good: this hotel has the most incredible views you could ask for. There’s an infinity pool from where you can watch the sea all day and then later the sunset. The restaurant provides the same views. You can even see some monkeys from afar! It was the favorite part of our stay. Most staff are super friendly (shoutout to Gin from the colibri restaurant and the bar, to name one). The pools are clean and lots of fun.

The efficiency room was dated but clean and bed was comfortable. The pools are lovely with magnificent views. I’d absolutely recommend staying for the accommodation but avoid the all inclusive if an option. Much better food/drink options close by.

They only have 1 restaurant with poor service and the staff is not friendly. In our room the AC was not working properly, we had a animal crawling on the roof every morning at 4:00 am. The pools are nice but the service in the pool bar is very bad. I really don’t recommend this place.

The gentleman who checked us in was very welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff were not as helpful and at times appeared unhappy and unmotivated. Our package included an à la carte dinner, but we received conflicting information from the front desk and the kitchen, and we were never able to make a reservation during the eight nights we stayed.

The only food I consistently enjoyed was the fruit. The alcoholic drinks were overly watered down.

On one occasion, the shuttle that transports guests around the property passed my husband three times, even though he was standing at the designated pickup location. My husband has a heart condition and ended up having to walk up the hill in 95-degree weather, which was extremely concerning and unacceptable.

Overall, the property appears run-down, and the service and amenities were disappointing. Based on our experience, I would not recommend booking this property.

Let me start with the positives, the only thing accurate about the advertisement of the facility is the description of the 4 pools and the amazing view. Yes a picture is worth a thousand s words. The shuttle does run continuously as stated 7am - 10pm. There are a few amazing staff member that go well above and beyond. Maria and Gaston pool and restaurant bar tenders great, Jean who runs the romantic dinner and works dinning amazing, Olman towel station /shuttle driver great.

Not so positive, common problem every guest shared was the false advertisement of the 2 restaurants and the 25+ pictures of the food. A restaurant is a place where you sit down, read a menu and place your order, or order from a counter. Dorito is a breakfast lunch and dinner buffet with 90% of the food the same every day lunch & dinner. 2nd common complaint, it list 4 bars - only 1 is open 10am-6pm, and the other 6pm -everyday they run out of alcohol and the drinks are massively watered down. As a 74yr old guest said she got more of a buzz off a cup of Pepsi They do not even have wine. There is a liquor stirred in walking distance, in which, most guest bought their own. 3rd common problem, the facility is sold out but only have 14 chaise longe chairs and 8 are broken. Guest are told to go to the beach or sit on a wooden dinning chair at the pool. So not only is it byob it’s also byoc. Which now brings us to the beach, only a few chairs but you have to get up at 7am to get a chair there or by the pool.

When I arrived at the room, it was not completed or clean. But when contacting the front desk, they were on top of it, and their service lady came right away. Everyone at the resort was so kind and helpful, definitely a 10/10. The resort is old and needs a bit of updating, but other than that, everything was good, and I felt safe as a single woman traveling by myself during this time. The pool view is amazing and like no other. I would definitely visit this resort again. The price was right, and the staff was amazing!

We just finished a 14-day stay at Condovac La Costa, and unfortunately it was extremely disappointing.
We were charged $19 per night for mini bar service, yet it was only stocked twice the entire trip despite multiple requests to reception. We also waited 48 hours for clean sheets after repeatedly asking, and eventually had to strip the bed ourselves and bring the sheets to reception.
We later discovered our room included a separate dinner service, but no one told us until the last few days of the trip, meaning we missed something we had already paid for.
The resort advertises a beach bar, but during our two-week stay it opened only once, and it wasn’t included in the all-inclusive plan. There are also four pools but only about 20 loungers total, and many of the beach loungers were broken.
When we raised these concerns with reception and asked what they would do to make things right, we were essentially told “you can check out,” and were directed to take any refund issues up with Expedia.
To be fair, most of the restaurant staff were friendly and worked hard, and Oscar in particular went above and beyond with great service.
The property has beautiful views and potential, but the service, communication, and management response were extremely disappointing.

Pros- Our family’s beds were comfortable, the AC worked in our room and the shuttle was very convenient (except for when it was periodically broken down) the pineapple was almost always available an delicious.
Cons- the food options are simple, minimal and often runout. At breakfast there was butter/margerine for toast only SOME days (but omelettes were almost always available for breakfast which was the hilights of out food experience- even though inclusions were sometimes unavailable). Lunch is consistently delicious stewed black beans, dry, old, deep fried, hotdogs and stale buns beside either tortilla chips or french fries.
And dinner… rice prepared two ways, beans- one or two ways, a meat option and almost always a nice, fresh salad. The was a dessert option sometimes.
There are two bars, one in the pool one 25ft away at the “buffet”… both advertised 5 to 10 drinks available, but often the bar was out of hard liquor.

The advertised, à la carte, restaurant is open 2 to 3 days a week requires reservation for the 10 available tables and costs $25 per person. The advertised bar at the beach does not open.
There were zero amenities in our room… No coffee maker no fridge. There was a safe in the room, but we waited two days and four phone calls to get assistance/permission to use it.
Every day we had breakfast at the “resort“, but we quickly learned to have a look at dinner and more often than not chose to walk down the highway to one of three nearby restaurants.

The place ordinary but the experience was excellent! There's was great music everyday by the pool. The outdoor gym was fabulous. The Resort shuttle to the beach was perfect. I loved the views and I loved how safe it felt. For the price I couldn't complain and I appreciated every second. Thank you Conavac!

Rooms: were clean, beds made daily. There were no wash cloths. No shampoo or conditioner.
The kitchen: was nicely stocked with dishes, but no dish soap or cloth/sponge for washing our dishes.
Pools: we’re typically not very clean and a bit cloudy indicating the chemicals were not balanced. They were lacking in pool chairs, we counted about 20 for a couple hundred (at least) people. In addition, several were broken or cushions ripped. Pool towels were regularly out making it difficult to get fresh pool towels once a day. The towels were stained and small. I suggest bringing your own.
Food for all inclusive: was bare bones, same thing day in and day out, very few options. My husband and I both became very ill at different points of the vacation, as did several other travelers after eating at the provided all inclusive restaurant. We ended up eating out at local restaurants for the most part. Noon of the meals closely resembled anything advertised on Expedia.
Drinks for all inclusive: they ran out of alcohol several days & the swim up bartender was frequently MIA. We had 0-1 drinks there per day due to the unavailability. Non of the drinks looked like photos on Expedia.
General physical maintenance: horrendous. The eating area ceiling was falling apart. Roof tiles on condos were cracked or missing. Paint jobs messy. There is enough maintenance work to keep a large crew busy for years.

Problems: meals were all buffet and pretty much the same bland food; never had wine and no tequila occasionally when it is supposed to be an all inclusive; a bit rundown and since it is for sale probably not spending any money to update anytime soon; no wifi in the rooms, just the community areas.

Overall, the room was okay, but there were a few things that could be improved. The upholstery on the couch needed cleaning, and no washcloths were provided in the room. Wi-Fi was only available in the common areas, not in the bedroom, which was inconvenient.

The food was decent, but nothing exceptional. The towels provided at the pool were also quite small.

On the positive side, the property has a beautiful view from the common areas, and everything was generally clean. The staff were helpful, especially those who spoke English. Transportation was manageable, as it was possible to use Uber to get around.

ocean was slightly visible from the room. we had no hand towels or anything on our first day and the bed sheet was covered in hair. there was a gaping hole in the door that allowed many bugs to come in. the property often ran out of alcohol and the drinks were very weak. they served pretty much the same food every day for all three meals. it was buffet style, even though they claim to have two restaurants. bars closed by 9:30 pm. the place seemed to be a little run down. the hot tub was freezing cold. staff was very nice.

Good thing we only stayed 2 days. 1 salt shaker on the buffet to share, no pepper. There should have been HOT SAUCE to add some flavour to the food.

We were here for only one night. We arrived in the afternoon…our room was not cool at all…figured maybe they had just turned the air on…we went out…came back about 8 pm and realized the air was not working…someone did come to fix it and by the middle of night the room was cool. No hot water in the room. This property has lots of potential it is just quite worn down. The views are amazing! Pools are great! Furniture around pool needs some updating. Food and drinks were ok. Met others at the resort, all very nice which made the experience better…everyone had a similar view of the property. If they would put some money into it it would be an amazing property!

If you are looking for a luxurious all-inclusive, this is not the resort to go to. This is a very relaxed resort. I went with family and we had no expectations before coming after reading the reviews. We had a great time, the price is amazing, the food was great. Yes, the lounge chairs and towels at the pool could use upgrading, but they are still usable. We saw a lot of wildlife around the resort, the beach was very clean, the staff was very friendly. My only concern is to make sure you pull hard on the door, some do not stick and the door will open. Overall, I think this is an awesome place, in a great location, and will be back!

This was our seventh stay at Condovac. It suits our needs perfectly. Although it is an older resort, the location could not be more beautiful. The views from the open-air buffet and pool area are spectacular and the proximity to the beach works perfectly for our twice daily walks and snorkeling. We do not need the extensive buffets of other local resorts (if you do, this resort might not be a good fit). The rooms are older, but very clean and we look forward to next year's stay.

We had a room in the four hundred series and it provided us with a spectacular view of Hermosa Bay. I am sure many of the units have a great view. It's an older resort but clean. The staff are kind. The food doesn't have a huge variety but they switch up items every day and it's wholesome and well prepared. There were about four pools and the beach was about a four minute walk. There is a constant shuttle to take you around. It doesn't have a lot of amenities compared to other big new places but for us it was perfect. The location is nice for exploring Costa Rica. Some nice restaurants within walking distance of you want a break from the all inclusive. The unit had a full kitchen, big sitting area, nice beds. Lots of birds, some monkeys, iguana etc. If you get upset that one type of wine isn't available for a day its not for you but if you go with the flow you likely will be very happy here

This resort deserves a 1 star, that is because of the geographical location and the views, otherwise would be a zero. Its a rundown place, no upgrades here for a long time. Food selection very poor all week long, rice,beans, one kind of meet. No wine available, they run out of tquila, beer, towels. Skunks under the deck around main bar, some night stinks. Beach around resort is dirty, chairs are disgusting. People are friendly, nothing they can do about the issues. There is a reason why this resort is only on Expedia.

The icean was visible from our room. The property needs some major updates. There was mold in the bathroom around the sealant but otherwise the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We had booked the suite that was supposed to have a free mini bar amd a spa credit, yet did not receive amy of those amenities whatso ever. Every time i requested these i was given the run arojnd and was told tk talk to several different people who would tell me to talk to someone else. That wa very, very disappointing and frustrating.

The place is operating on a shoe string budget. The all inclusive is so limited they should just said include breakfast lunch and dinner. They're do not have any activities on site. The suppose to be find doning is only applicacle for romantic room everyone else tough luck. They give you one set of towel for your entire stay. No wash cloths. No body wash or shampoo. There's mosquitos in the room. The place is old and nver been renovated. The food is not covered so flies are everywhere. I wouldn't recommended to anyone.

The hotel was a very bad experience upon arriving in Costa Rica. There was no hot water, no Wi-Fi. The staff were very professional, like Pablo, Randal, and Javier from the tours department, and from the spa, excellent, Josue and his employees. The bathrooms by the pool were very dirty. The towels were yellowed, the villas need repairs, the villa door was not secure. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were of very poor quality and repetitive, the shuttles were slow, Playa Hermosa was dirty and poorly maintained. There were two chairs to sit on in the small balcony, and someone took them, a dog attacked me in the villa next to mine.Overall, Condovac needs to be renovated. The most beautiful sunset but horrible hotel.

The location and the view is amazing .
We had a platinum villas it is a big 2 floor room with a balcony.
5 minutes walk to the beach.
The buffet is small and typical costarican food but the quality is there its good and it was perfect for us for breakfast and lunch.
The resort is on a hill but the bus passes every 10minutes so its fine.

We had such a nice time! I went with my husband and one year old and we were a little worried because of the reviews but people with impossible expectations have the loudest voices. The shuttle service was constant and excellent, the towel service was always available when we needed it. The housekeeper Ana was the exceptional part of my stay. She went above and beyond as a housekeeper. I’ve traveled the world and stayed in 100’s of hotels and resorts. I’ve never had such great service out of one single person. If she isn’t the boss, she should be. In real life outside of vacation I run a crew of 100’s of people. Give that woman an crew and have her train them on EXACTLY what to do! She’s the one! I recognize leaders in their field when I see them. She’s the leader! Upon arrival, we discovered that the room was not clean. The sheets on the bed were visibly stained, which is completely unacceptable for any hospitality establishment. We immediately contacted the front desk to report the issue. Unfortunately, it took over an hour for anyone to respond and arrive at the room.

When housekeeping finally arrived, we were dismayed to find that one of the replacement sheets was also dirty and stained. At that point, our confidence in the cleanliness standards of the property was further diminished. We are still waiting for clean sheets and pillowcases, as the replacements provided were insufficient and unsanitary.

After a long flight, we expected a smooth check-in process and a clean, comfortable room where we could rest and relax. Instead, our experience has been marked by delays, poor communication, and a level of cleanliness that falls far below acceptable standards. Customer service has been extremely slow to respond, and the overall handling of this situation has been disappointing. The food offerings are meager, the bartenders put sour mix in everything even when it’s not in the recipe. The free transfer to and from the airport is non existent and we were told they need 48 hours before arrival. Which is ok but then they didn’t want to drive us back to the airport even though they had more than 48 hours notice for that. The photos of the property are likely very old, it’s in disrepair and if catfishing applies to hotels this is it.

To Start off I want to say Check in was easy. Cleaning Lady for our room was amazing top notch. Employees at buffet and drivers who drove us around the property were all nice.

When we booked the resort we asked the hotel 24 hours before to pick us up they wanted to charge us 60$ at the airport we just took a cap and cost us 40$.

This place is no where near a 3 star resort. I usually do my best not to even leave review because I feel bad. Seems like there’s no management on site and they have slowly given up on this place. 98 percent of food is the same everyday. I thought we would at least receive some fresh fruit juices instead we had bottled juice served everyday

There’s only two bars on this site 10 feet from each other. Next to the buffet the bartender I believe his name was Luis. I waited patiently for about 5 minutes as he was serving two young ladies and chatting with them calling them “Barbey Girls” as he finished he immediately passed me and asked the guy behind me who just walked in, what drink he likes. Very rude guy pretends like he owns the place and does as he please.

On the Beach it’s shared with other hotels and public there’s no one from the hotel to help in anyway.

The positives we traveled with 2 kids we took advantage of the beach everyday. The water was great some high tides but very manageable and we enjoyed the beach.

If I was invited for free to go back here I truly would Not stay at this resort but I would definitely stay around that beach.

We stayed here for six nights. The room itself was very spacious, clean, and well equipped. Having a full kitchen and a large living area was a big plus, and the AC worked perfectly throughout our stay. Overall, the comfort of the room was good.

However, we did experience one major issue. There was a noticeable sewage smell in the room that became stronger as the week went on. By the end of our stay, we were closing the bathroom door and covering the sink drains because the odor was quite unpleasant. Unfortunately, this significantly affected our comfort.

The resort is very quiet, with little to no entertainment on site. This may be ideal for couples or families looking for a peaceful stay. However, backpackers or travelers looking for more atmosphere might prefer staying closer to Plaza Coco, which is nearby and offers a more lively vibe.

As for the food, it was average. If you’ve stayed at standard all-inclusive hotels in places like Cuba, it’s comparable — fairly repetitive and somewhat bland. Not terrible, but not a highlight of the stay either.

The location itself is beautiful, and for the price, it wasn’t unreasonable. Overall, I would rate it between 3 and 3.5 stars. With improvements to the odor issue and some upgrades to the food variety, it could be significantly better.

We didn't expect much given the ratings, but were pleased overall. The room was dated but clean, we had problems with the safe which they helped us with promptly. Also the shower hose burst and they fixed that as well. Staff were wonderful. The food however is so/so, very boring and predictable.

Property is located in a gorgeous area of Costa Rica.Beautiful beaches and constant ocean waves.
The property however has much to be desired.
The property itself is in much need of some TLC. Neglected areas are showing, maintenance is missing to keep it up to date and functional.
The villas themselves appear to be quite dated in appearance. They are also missing smoke or fire detectors since there is cooking allowed. They are also missing WIFi and telephones. Would hate to think if smeone fell ill during the night and could not call anyone by telephone or on WIFI.
Front desk is only open until 10PM, tram operates until 10 PM, towels poolside closes at 5PM, pool bar also closes at 5 PM. Many attractions on the property are not operating or closed. No entertainment my entire stay.
Food is mediocre at best. Not much variety and bland tasting. Certainly not what you would expect for an all inclusive property. Deserts rarely were more than fresh fruit and a tiny slice of sweet cake. How about some ice cream in 34C degree weather? How about some slushies? Not very well thought out where hydration is an issue in tropical climates.
Access can be an issue for anyone the least bit arthritic or has difficulty walking. There are stairs everywhere. When I checked in I asked if the villa assigned to me was street level or on the main floor. The clerk assured me it was only a couple of stairs from the road. When the tram dropped me off I had no less than 14 stairs to climb!

Rooms were cleaned but are outdated. We saw a small roach in the room. Food choices were okay, but more variety would be appreciated. The all-inclusive felt misleading with only one restaurant available. No water bottles in the room, and the shower head was broken.

First the staff was very good but there was a huge shortage of staff. They did what they could to help, I can see they were busy but very polite. The facility is very old but never any updates or little maintenance done. Garbage was laying around and lots poor maintenance done. Food very limit in choices and very repetitive. Without the excellent staff, you just as shut this place down unless huge money is spent on it

The buffet was poor quality with very limited selection. They ran out of alcohol the first and second day we were there. We complained to the front desk but they didn't care at all. One bartender was awesome and friendly but the rest of the staff was not friendly at all. No toilet paper holder in our room and no face cloths. Many things mentioned in their amenities list are non-existent. I never saw a waterslide or tennis court and there wasn't any evening entertainment. I read that you should make reservations for the other restaurant on-site, so we went to the front desk. They said that restaurant was \"only for lovers\"! Their words. It was my sister and I that stayed there. We were booked to stay for 9 nights but left after 5 nights. We had no desire to stay longer, even though we pretty much knew they weren't going to refund any missed nights. Some people are fine with this type of accommodation. To each their own. But how do you run out of alcohol twice at an all inclusive?

Given the price, I thought it was a fantastic deal. The food was good, the pool and swim up bar was nice, decent rooms with lots of space, close access to the beach, and huge weight room. Don’t expect this to be a luxurious resort (if that’s something your looking for then pay the big bucks somewhere else).

Everything was awful but the view. They said there were multiple restaurants inclided then wouldn’t, said there was all sorts of amenities like a coffee shop and ice cream nothing. Food was absolutely awful and they same couple things every day. Staff lie and try to make excuses on why things aren’t available. And they advertise falsely.

Do not go here unless you want to be disappointed, spend extra money for travel/taxi so you can have safe/tasty food. First, you will struggle with your luggage! This place is on a hill and it’s steep. The shuttle is needed to get you down the hill to your room and you’ll have to cart your own luggage into the room. 2nd, the room is dated and the doors do not lock appropriately. The beach is “okay” and there are no designated loungers or umbrellas. The ones that are there are broken usually taken when you arrive.. you share this part of the beach with another resort (Villa sol). The food, my gosh the food.. it is depressing and disgusting. Plan eat white rice and black beans or rice mixed with beans, hard plantains, dry hard potatoes every single day.. it’s horrible and one of the worst parts of the trip.. same breakfast daily, pancakes that are clearly missing baking powder.. how are pancakes hard? It’s so bad that we had to go off the resort to get food and visited another beach. The eating facilities are not clean or sanitized. You can get toast and coffee, it’s the only safe food. The pool area is okay, but be prepared to go down early to get a place to sit or you’ll be in the hot sun! We tried to book another hotel in the coco beach side, but was unlucky. This place is in bad shape and you have been warned.. please note, I wouldn’t stay here if it was free.. the only bonus is the views.. they are to die for! The staff are uninterested and just seem to show up. It’s bad

This resort was exactly what we wanted! A quiet, local Costa Rican culture resort that offered beautiful beach views, with great hospitality, and lots of activities and excursions to do if you wanted.

If you’re looking for a five star luxurious party experience, this is not your resort.

This was laid-back, amazing people, close to local amenities, great off resort food options, and close to the airport.

We were there in a bit of the off-season so some options were a little limited and we were totally OK with it.

The resort is older, but it was clean and had everything we needed to make our experience a memorable one.

I would hands-down go to this resort anytime, especially if you’re looking to travel on a budget and and save some cash for other Costa Rican experiences.

Rooms were nice, we booked romantic suites and were happy. The staff was great, shuttle was a life saver at times. The resort is on a very steep incline, ridiculously steep, we walked up from our unit but we were in building 1 and 2, and we are in good shape. Food was buffet snd decent, not great, lunch and snack food seemed to be out all afternoon, back out with dinner. Breakfast was the best, omelet bar was fresh, limited but good. Grounds a bit run down but still nice, access to real nice beach and small store at bottom of road with shuttle stop. Dinner at the restaurant on grounds was fantastic, comes with upgraded units, pre ordered from limited (but very good) choices, extremely nice dinner. Front desk staff very helpful, always smiles and able to answer questions. I have been to Costa Rica 8 times, 10 for my wife, we know what to expect. Overall, our experience was nice, the hill got easier after a few days, nice pools but better get there early to stake a claim on loungers. Pool bar seemed nice, not a drinker, had 1 drink entire trip, came down for dental. I will stay again and recommend to other travelers, room for improvement but the cost is affordable and the staff is great.

The room is just ok. Very dingy, clean is the only pro. Food is awful. There is really only one restaurant. The shuttle to hotel is only one way. You have to pay to get back to airport. Bars there are 2 and they serve one brand of alcohol and 1 brand of beer. 15 chairs for 4 pools. So don’t plan on sitting near the pool for the day.
