Great hotel just a few minutes walk from the Hannover train station. Excellent staff. Large room. Comfortable bed, but miserable pillows. Close to a lot of restaurants, cafes, and shopping. Very convenient for our visit. Staff is nice and room was fine. Don’t like the half duvets but this is apparent common in Germany. The reason it gets 4 instead of 5 stars isn’t really their fault. There were loud concerts and a parade during our stay that our room just reverberated from the noise. Impossible to nap. Luckily it ended after we retuned from dinner. We had dinner one night @Marys. Not bad but certainly not excellent by nyc standards. But close to nyc prices. The breakfast was good and we had a lovely server named Gabby. Good luck in your studies!

Rude person at reception upon check in. Just seemed angry and annoyed overall. Absolutely unacceptable behavior for a five star hotel. She implied breakfast was included in our room but then we were told at check out it wasn’t and had to pay an extra €62. This was also on top of the person who let us enter breakfast not saying we would be charged.
Rest of the staff was nice, especially bartender and waitresses at breakfast.
It’s a four star hotel and overpriced for that. Not a five star hotel and because of the breakfast issue we won’t be returning.

Fabulous 3 days in Hannover
This hotel was outstanding. One block from the train, we were greeted with smiles. Room was ready. Lovely little bar with awesome cocktails. Service was excellent. Would definitely stay here again. A bit pricey but so worth it in regards to being pampered.

First one night it rained all night and the rain falling on the window sill was like a machine gun rattling all night I would have to think twice about Re visiting as I want a good nights sleep the other 2 nights when it wasn’t raining it was excellent

Traveling from Amsterdam to Berlin, I had to make an overnight stay in Hannover, and I feared not being close to the train station so I chose Kastens Hotel Luisenhof. Great choice. Not only was it close to the train station, but I enjoyed the area. Lots of restaurant choices and window shopping. I wish I could have stayed longer. Next time! The staff was very friendly and inviting and spoke English (I apologize for speaking little to NO German. I knew 'bitte' and 'dankeschon'--I hope they appreciated it). My room did not overlook the street, which I didn't mind incase there was lots of street activity. My room/bath was spacious (for one person), and the bed, though slightly larger than a twin, was comfortable. I slept well. I looked, but did not ever find an ice maker. Bummer. Overall, a very pleasant stay!

Many times, when reviewing hotels, the total score is 5/5 despite some minor discomforts, to which, sometimes, only a frequent traveler some as myself would notice. I must say that this hotel exceeded all my expectations. The almost too kind staff, the cozy lobby, the spacious and well-designed deluxe room, the spotless cleanliness, the great amenities, everything was simply remarkable!

Unusually good hotel
Located less than 300 m from the Central Station and 200 m from the Kröpcke square this hotel has an almost perfect location. The hotel is old (1856) with some parts still in the old charming style, but with rooms renovated in modern style. I had a \"superior room\" which was large (25 m2) and equipped with everything I needed, such as writing desk, minibar and a large bathroom. Quiet and with functioning AC also in winter (which is unusual). The hotel's Mary restaurant is of gourmet type.

Checkin was very nice and staff was friendly and professional. However, I was quite underwhelmed that the room was not really spacious: The bathroom door opened against the toilet and the bathroom felt rather cramped. Walking out of the bathroom I had to be careful not to walk into the TV which overlapped with the door frame. There was construction work going on on my floor as well. At one point in the evening the cleaner walked into my room unannounced and found me perplexed in my bathrobe - the only thing she said was that they wanted to check if everything was alright?! At 7pm... I heard them do it at the next room as well. Because here comes the part that really annoyed me: The walls were paper thin. I was forced to not only hear full conversations from the neighbouring room but also their really loud intercourse throughout the night. Other annoyances: Use of sauna only against an extra charge and very expensive breakfast option only. Given the great rating and price I really expected more - but to stay fair likely there are also more beautiful rooms available for a higher price.

Very fine hotel in an excellent and safe location - close to central train station, shopping, eateries, etc. Kind and helpful staff. I was in a renovated room - comfortable bed, modern bathroom with nice amenities, fridge, bathrobe, slippers and was quiet. My single room was small, but fine for just an overnight stay. Wished there had been a water kettle in room.Gourmet restaurant on site. parking available. Thought it was a very nice accomodation for the relatively low price I paid. Would definitely stay here again when in Hannover.

Unusually high toilet
While the property was beautiful, and the people working there were extremely helpful and nice, I had to give low marks for comfort due to the height of the toilet. I am 5'2\", and it was so difficult for me to use the high toilet in our bathroom. Since they did not ask us if we minded having a handicapped room, I have to assume that this was a standard toilet at the Luisenhof.

It was lovely. We were doing a gentle overnight to go to the Opera next door. When we needed a kettle and an iron, they were brought very quickly. Beds were comfortable but I would’ve preferred a selection of pillow choices and a large double bed rather than two singles. Would stay here again, and remember gym kit.

Have stayed at the Kastens a couple of times over recent years and it is always a pleasurable experience. The reception staff in particular are at the top of their game and are to be applauded for their high standards of hospitality to the guests. Breakfasts are magnificent, and again the catering staff are to be commended.

Our room was nice and clean, and was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable, too. We enjoyed having the mini-refrigerator and drinks as well. There was an electric kettle in the room, with coffee and tea available. The coffee was instant, but that is normal for Germany and it was fine. There are multiple coffee shops nearby with coffee and pastries. We had a junior suite, so there was a small living area, which gave us some space to relax aside from the bed. There was a rain shower with multiple side jets that was quite large, which was a nice touch. The toiletries provided were high-end (Chopard) and good sized (I brought my own, but my husband used them and liked them). The room was updated, but the rest of the hotel had much of the charm you would expect in a hotel of this age (the information provided stated 160 years old). The gym was a bit dated, so we only used it once, but we got plenty of exercise sightseeing on foot and using the hotel bikes we used (no charge). The hotel is in a great location - a block from the main train station and in the heart of all of the shopping and restaurants, and across from the opera house. Staff was friendly and attentive. We did not eat at the restaurant in the hotel, so I can’t comment on that. They were undergoing renovations during our stay, but it did not impact our stay. Most importantly, our air conditioning was nice and cold, and were were there for a terrible heat wave, so it was greatly appreciated. I recommend this hotel!

This hotel is my preferred hotel in Hannover. It is really very comfortable, modern and clean, in an excellent location, in a quiet street very near (2 mins walk) to the main railway station and all the shops. The opera house is within 3 minutes walk too. There is a well-equipped gym at the top and a good restaurant at the bottom. The hotel is at the higher end of the scale with regards to comfort and facilities, but it is not the best I have been to. This should not deter anyone, because it is really a very good hotel.
The points of criticism would be that I had only one pillow on my bed and there was no coffee/tea making facility in the room. This may have been due to the low room rate I signed up for and more upscale rooms may well have these. I suppose I could have called housekeeping for more pillows, but by the time I arrived for the night I simply could not be bothered to wait for the pillows to arrive.
It has also happened on two separate stays that the maid knocked on my room in the morning wanting to check whether she could clean my room. Nothing unusual here when no do-not-disturb card is left on the outer door handle, however she should have known that I was vacating the room that day (on both occasions) and so could easily clean after my departure and no need to disturb me before! Not a big point, but just says something about the professionalism and client service of the hotel. Normally the maids are supplied with the daily arrival and departure schedule.

Room was nice. Breakfast pretty average and the service at breakfast was terrible. Bar staff friendly but the bar area is tiny unless you want to sit in the open lobby. Staff at reception were ok. Room service menu very limited although the food was good when it arrived. Good location right in the centre and close to Hauptbahnhof. Information in room was not good, for example I believe the hotel has a spa/gym but there was no information as to what facilities were there or how to find it. Overall definitely NOT a five star experience. I’ve had better stays in Hannover for a lot less money.

Lovely hotel right in the middle of the big shopping area of Hannover. It is literally steps away from the train station and the tourist info office is on the same block. Our room was clean, comfortable and our only small complaint was that the elevator only went to the 3rd floor. If you have a 4 th floor room you have to haul your luggage up a flight of stairs. So if they ask if you need help with your luggage, say yes! if you have a 4th floor room!

After a 20 minute train journey from the airport this Hotel is a 200 metre walk through the Christmas Market. Despite being right in the centre of things it is in a lovely location and I have always had very quiet rooms. Staff are very pleasant and responsive.

Always pleasant staff with good manners and excellent language skills. the hotel opens onto the best street in town and has a homely bar with a superb restaurant. Like the mixture of fine refurbished rooms but with an old world feel with certain pieces of furniture and quirky spacing (floor 3/4) a delight.

The location was very central. We were only staying one night because it was on our way traveling between other countries. Decor was somewhat dated. Size of room was large, WIFI/cellular service was fairly poor. Staff was cordial and helpful when we experienced an issue with the room.

this classic hotel has real charm and pleasant comfort. The staff went out of their way to be helpful; the breakfast was lovely; and my only complaint was that the Internet signal was not adequately strong in my room far from the core of the hotel. Otherwise it was terrific.
