Absolutely fantastic breakfast with perfect service and exceptional options. We will be back for sure.

We stayed in a family room. It was spacious with a foyer that had a door so that I could pack and organize while everyone was asleep. The pull out couch was not optimally comfortable but it was good enough for the kids.

Breakfast was phenomenal. From make your own waffle (use the timer!), to fresh ginger for your tea, to smoked salmon and many cheeses, meats, yogurts and treats there was something for everyone. The staff were great. It’s hard to list off the many great treats, including vegan options and poultry meats.

The kettle, tea and Nespresso pods and coffee machine in the room were wonderful and very appreciated.

Expedia showed the hotel as having parking available. We arrived to be told that there was limited parking and that a parking elevator could not accommodate most SUVs. Our rental car did not fit and there was no way to reserve one of the very few ground floor spaces. Some advance warning would have been helpful as we could have rented a different car. The staff did not mention the abundant street parking that is available around the hotel but my cousin pointed out that on nearby streets between 8pm and 9am we could park for free.

The AC in room was old and worked but very noisy, if you opened the window then the noise of houses to the rear was bad. We were on the 2nd floor and the noise went on well past midnight, it was a Friday. So sleep not good added to that very poor pillows, despite bed being good it all meant a poor nights sleep.Dated decor meant felt worst hotel of the 5 nights we spent in Germany.
Staff were all nice, a saving grace.

Perfect location, pleasant atmosphere

Excellent location for a city trip, 15 minutes walking through the centre to the train station or a short subway ride, close to city centre, subway, shops, park and lake and many restaurants, bars etc.
The hotel's overall atmosphere was modern and clean, we didn't have breakfast or dinner in the restaurant but it looked very good. Our room on the 3rd floor was comfortable, the bathroom clean and modern, but the room's carpet and window insulation should be changed.

Check in easy and without fuss. The hotel maintains a mask policy so make sure you have one handy. Very dog friendly with a small additional cost (compared to other hotels) - and directly opposite a huge park. Whilst travelling on my own (and dog) I only had a room with a king single so would of liked a bigger bed. Staff very helpful. I did not choose the breakfast so cannot comment on the quality. Overall fine for a short stay. There seem to be many families at the hotel so clearly they are doing something right - perhaps it is the price point.

One small bottle of water in the room costs 3€ - not a nice thing.
There were disgusting stains on the curtain.
Little bit dusty.
The dining hall was crowded until 10:30 a.m. Afterwards it became deserted. Breakfast is rich in variation.

Super-efficient reception staff, comfortable room

Arriving very late after a flight delay we really appreciated the swift and friendly check-in. Our room had everything we needed and was spotless, as well as quiet.
We walked to the station the next day; an enjoyable way to see some of the old town...and had a very pleasant breakfast overlooking the square there for half the price of the Mercure's.

Nice place with some real issues to be sorted

Overall a very nice hotel, decent sized room, decent bathroom, decent food in the restaurant, good state of cleanliness. However, there is an issue with the internal soundproofing. Although the room faced the inside and was consequently barely affected by outside noise, the plumbing is poor and the associated noise not properly isolated. I could hear water moving through the pipework, both in my room and from elsewhere. I also heard neighbours on either side of my room using their respective bathrooms and toilets. Although far away from the lift, I could also hear this - especially annoying in the middle of the night when trying to sleep!

ideal city and park location

Everything is walking distance, park, lake museums and shops. A lovely park and lake on the doorstep and the Sprengel Museum 2 minutes down the road. A superb modern art museum! .
Hotel staff very friendly and can't do enough for you, all speak excellent English.

Good hotel with comfortable mostly quiet rooms - the only sore points were a coffee machine that didn't work (after demonstrating, it was quickly replaced), and garbage collection early in the morning that was loud enough to be heard through the windows.

Hotel in excellent situation.

Hotel in a good position for the central area of Hannover, with shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. Convenient for both bus and underground.

IDEAL FOR CITY BREAK

Visited Hannover for the first time to visit family in the locality. The Hotel was perfectly located the nearby to the U'bahn affording superb access the area and regional transport networks. Rooms were very comfortable and appointed to a good standard. Good dining facilities and enjoyed the breakfasts. All staff very pleasant and engaging.

First trip to Germany

This was my first trip to Germany and first time at a Mercure hotel. The staff at the registration desk were extremely pleasant and helpful, and spoke English very well. My room was spotless and comfortable, and the hotel was close to beautiful walking greens and the downtown restaurants and shops. It is also within easy walking distance of the Underground station.

Very nice hotel, very close to restaurants, shops, old town and parks in fact great location.Hotel was very clean, very nice restaurant not to pricey with great food. Just be aware of Taxi drivers hotel books for you we were over charged I think, with a bill of fifty three euros to airport, if you compare to other reviews should have been no more than thirty euros, always get a receipt, but other than that stay was very good and we would use hotel again.

When we arrived we got offered an upgrade and free drinks which was a good start. The room was good, very clean and quiet. Disappointed with the price of breakfast at 19 euro's per head. You can get a breakfast very close by for 5 euros.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, facilities were really good, we got wifi, breakfast and the mini bar included when we booked. The only issue is the beds. We booked a double room but got 2 single beds that you couldn't join together. Me and my fella found it rather irritating as 1 of us always fell through the gap. Would have given 5 stars if not for this.

Pleasant stay in the Mercure Hotel Hannover City

The cleanliness of the room was good. The staff were efficient and pleasant enough. The gym facilities were OK and there was a plentiful supply of freshly laundered towels on offer. However, there was NO water machine to quench ones thirst! This is definitely something the hotel needs to work on, this is standard in all gyms I have used.

We stayed at the hotel for family weekend break to the Christmas markets (which are great incidendally). The hotel was clean and functional, about 5-10 minutes walk from the historical centre. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Our room rate didn't include breakfast so ate outside the hotel as it was a bit expensive for non-business customers.

We stayed for three nights to experience the Christmas markets. The hotel is within walking distance of the station (approx. 15 mins) and easy to find since it's right behind the old town hall. It's also not right in the middle of the shopping area which would be noisy at night.

Stayed here during Maschseefest last week and had a lovely time. The hotel is being renovated at the moment so there is no bar, but there are plenty in the area! We got a good rate due to the work going on so we were happy.

Our car (VW Tiguan with roof box -2.2m tall) was too tall for the garage but there was free on street parking, you just had to be patient.

My main criticism was that the breakfast was 20 euros per person which is ridiculously expensive. We chose to eat elsewhere.

The hotel was the best of the best. The restaurant serves wonderful food. No need to go outside to dine, although there are many restaurants within walking distance.

If you're looking for a little city break in Hannover, then this hotel is ideal. Decent rates for a 4* hotel, easy walking distance to the old town without having all the noise of being right in the centre. Comfortable enough rooms if a little sparse, very nice showers though.
We had booked three rooms in three names at three different times but the hotel had still identified the same surnames and put us all on the same floor.

Enjoyed our stay in this hotel very much. Staff especially in the restaurant were lovely, very helpful and friendly. We had dinner for two nights and breakfast every morning, and the food was excellent. Breakfast slightly pricey but excellent choice and fresh orange juice amazing! Loved the use of bicycles which was complimentary.

Great hotel!

Warm welcome and staff very helpful. Great location close to the city centre and lake so sightseeing was really easy. Hotel had bikes for hire on site and made suggestions as to an itinery. Staff went out of their way to make us welcome - they were proud of their hotel. Special praise for Najia who wes really helpful!

We followed the 'Red Thread' tourist trail that follows a painted red line around all of the main sites and areas of the city. We downloaded the Read Thread app to give us the history, maps and pictures of the route - 69p well spent.

Good hotel but not good beds

Small and uncomfortable beds. The rooms are basic but suit a business traveller. the staff were very friendly and helpful. the food was great and the location not too bad.
This hotel could really do with changing its beds to something more comfortable. Three of us stayed in three separate rooms and had unsettled sleep due to the beds.

convenient location

the hotel is conveniently located and can be reached in 15 minutes on foot from the station. The room was spacious and had good lighting which is often lacking in hotel rooms. However it took us a while to find out how to turn up the heating. I expected to find a thermostat on the wall but it was for the air conditioning only. I discovered it the next morning when I opened the curtains and saw the radiator in front of the windows. There were however spare blankets and pillows in the cupboard.
The food in the restaurant was good.
My complaint is that they were renovating the hotel and the drilling started at 8.15 on Monday although it clearly said: building work will commence at 9.00 a m.
I would certainly stay there again.
