The room was very comfortable and clean. Lovely big shower. The hotel was very nice and again very clean. Great bar. As you walk in to the reception it is very grand like walking into a beautiful Manor House.
Breakfast was very nice with plenty to choose from. The problem I had was it said in the booking email they check in was 2pm. It isn’t it’s 3pm . So be careful.

The Garden wing is uninspiring upon arrival but inside is first class for quality and cleanliness. Room and en suite nicely furnished and laid out. Not a big room so, with the extremely high temperatures during our stay, became very warm. No aircon but a fan was already in situ. The main building was lovely and cool with doors open for through draughts and aircon in the restaurant.

The grounds were excellent for walking and the gardens have great potential.

Good quality food. Service good throughout - especially considering a wedding celebration was being hosted.

Disappointed that disabled bays were occupied by a works van and two
cars - none of which were displaying blue badges. Shouldn't be difficult to monitor as car reg is input on arrival.

The room was very outdated , broken window and blinds which didnt work. The room was extremely hot with only a fan to circulate the already very warm air. Athough the front desk staff were polite, they seemed to struggle with any more than one thing at a time! Although the surroundings were really nice, I dont think I will stay at this hotel again especially when the weather is 30 plus

Check in was easy, our room was available early. This is a big hotel, very much like a rabbit warren! Staff provided a map with clear instructions how to reach our rooms, which were situated in the rather grim looking Garden Rooms block. Inside, the room was spacious, well appointed with plenty of USB sockets. The ensuite was quite small, but everything worked and some toiletries were provided. There is a TV with a small selection of terrestrial stations available to view. The bed was comfortable and the room clean and tidy. We had an early start the following morning, so we asked if we could arrange breakfast before the usual time. They were happy to do this and provided take away boxes, although we didn't realise they were going to put out cereals, had this been the case we would have gone down earlier. We had dinner the night before in the restaurant (there were 10 of us), so had pre booked a table. The menu is extensive with a wide range of food to suit all tastes, including plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. They also cater for allergies with a separate section for coeliacs. The food was very good. There are plenty of comfortable lounges to relax in, a swimming pool and other leisure facilities. There was no water in the bedroom, but there are beverage stations located in various areas around the hotel, so we grabbed a bottle from one of those. There is plenty of parking, and the hotel is easy to locate from the A34. We would recommend this hotel.

Don't expect to stay in the main house, you will most likely be allocated a double room in the garden wing. This though not externally impressive is similar to a Premier Inn in layout internally. All staff are very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was okay, can be busy so you may need to queue in line. Restaurant i can't comment on as this we didn't use, bar snacks available from the bar

Lovely weekend at Milton Hill the place is lovely and clean although a little worn. The staff were extremely helpful and the food first rate. The spa area was ok but really needed more chairs or lingers as there was nowhere to put your towels while in the pool or jacuzzi etc. it would have been nice to have something to sit on while not using the facilities as there was only 3 tables and six chairs. Apart from that it was great.

We had an overall pleasant stay, largely thanks to the staff, who were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout.

When we first arrived, our room was unfortunately in need of maintenance and a refresh. The walls appeared quite dirty with visible handprints, the bath had signs of rust, and some of the wallpaper was peeling. However, when I raised this with reception, one member of staff in particular was exceptionally accommodating, she moved us to a cleaner room without hesitation and also kindly arranged a late checkout for us, which we really appreciated.

The hotel itself is set in a beautiful building with lovely grounds. There is a bus stop right outside that takes you directly to Oxford, though it takes about 1hr. The pool and sauna area were lovely and quiet. Breakfast had good options available, and we were especially pleased that the kitchen provided vegan sausages to accompany the cooked buffet.

Just a short walk away is a charming little farm where you can see Highland cows! Also just down the road, is a pub called The Pack Horse which was absolutely lovely, and offers a vegan menu.

Housekeeping was generally good, although on a couple of days our dirty cups and mugs weren’t cleared, which was a bit frustrating.

The main downside for us is the overall lack of maintenance in the rooms. While the service and setting are strong, the bedrooms are in clear need of repainting and general upkeep to bring them up to standard.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, thank you!

It was a comfortable bed but lacking in other areas. After seeing the picture of the hotel it was disappointing to find our room was not in the main hotel but the garden Annex. This was an unpleasant looking concrete building detached from the hotel and quite a walk in poor weather. Also we were left with only one 2 even though it was a booking for 2. Also we were convinced that we had chosen the package with breakfast but it turned out this was not part of it. So I cannot comment on the food.

The only negative was that the pool was quite a bit cooler than expected. We still used it though.

The hotel is lovely, however, could do with some TLC. All the staff were fab, especially Amelie and Connor in the restaurant. Evening meal was gorgeous, fresh, tasty and well presented. Breakfast was awful as all the 'hot' items were cold and the sausages did not seem to have been cooked, still translucent through the skin. The deluxe double was good, although could really benefit from a little TLC.

Awful. Put us in a room next to a renovation. Builders constantly working until 6pm and until started again at 7am. We spoke to reception and they promised the builders wouldn’t start work until 11am.

Awful experience- the hotel could be excellent but there are too many staff doing very little.

We waited at the bar for 25 mins with numerous staff watching us and not even acknowledging us.

A beautiful hotel with historic features. We stayed in the house which is quiet and we had a view of the fields. The swimming is very clean and the jacuzzi was relaxing we had the whole pool to ourselves, it has a small sauna and steam room which needs to be warmer. The Reception had a beautiful Christmas tree and the bar area is relaxing with a lovely sitting room. The staff work hard and make you feel welcome. The room was spacious with sash windows, no snacks provided like the other group hotels we have visited. The floor boards in the room need fixing but it’s an old building. We visited Millets farm to see the Christmas lights, would recommend. Abingdon is a nice town with a mix of independent shops and top high street brands. This is our second visit and we would return. Who doesn’t love the Cotswolds ❤️

Stopped in room 3 - Garden room. Constant dripping / tapping noise all night / so very little sleep (may have been heating system) the garden room block resembles a prison block, dark / small rooms, tiny bathroom (can’t open door and have bath down at same time) and not value for money (over £125 for a twin std.) - not even a bottle of water in the room unless you upgrade -which is an extra £30 plus! - supposedly 4 star!

Evening meal ok.
Breakfast very good.
Didn’t use pool as looked like kids swimming lessons were taking place - not solely for hotel guess.
Grounds of hotel very nice.
Carpark very full - the place is full of people attending seminars.
Can’t recommend due to annoying tapping / dripping sound all night - and lack of sleep, and also expensive based on the amenities / room… maybe the main block is better??

I can only speak about the Garden Rooms where i was staying, other room options maybe better:

The room was very dark, needed more lighting. Also, staying in November, the single glazed windows meant that it was cold during my stay. No temperature controls in room. You could also hear guests next door going to the toilet, speaking on their phones & watching their TVs.

Dinner wasn't very nice yet quite expensive for what was served.

I travel a lot for business and stay in a lot of different hotels, and have to be honest - i've never yearned for a Premier Inn room and meal quite as much as I did during this stay.

Their pool and meeting room facilities looked very nice, but i didnt use them on this occasion.

Signage was also a little confusing and they could do with some more to help direct to reception & restaurant - the garden room block is quite a distance from reception, so easy to get lost or confused, even with the map that was issued to me at reception.

However, all that being said, the staff were very nice, friendly and polite.

Excellent breakfast, comfy bed and a room with a good temperature and impressive house keeping. I had stupidly left 2 spoons in my room that had been cleared away by housekeeping but they managed to locate them next day!! That’s going the extra mile.

The garden wing building isn’t the prettiest but the rooms are refurbed and the grounds of the hotel are nice. Changing rooms are small but for the price it’s a great deal.

The second room was better, but eas still damp and cold. Oh and the bathroom floor tiles were loose!!

The mattress!... I'd definitely recommend it to an enemy!

We loved the hotel when we arrived. Beautiful period building. Reception area fantastic. Unfortunately we were not in the main building! Driving to a different car park and the Garden rooms we were confronted by a complete eyesore. Very disappointing. The rooms however were a different story. The beds were very comfortable with quality bedding. Lovely thick towels and toiletries provided in the bathroom. We ate at the hotel which was good but we were shown to a separate area, the Italian “something” and the actual restaurant looked much nicer. Overall I would stay again especially if on a deal (which we weren’t but most other guests seemed to be!)
