Family travelling with dogs.

Myself and my son stayed overnight as we were travelling south to Andalucía. We had our dogs with us and the staff couldn’t have been better. We were given a room away from other guests and it was so quiet and perfect for us travelling with dogs. I will definitely stay again. A beautiful place.

The staff were amazingly kind and helpful. My husband had been unwell and was discharged from hospital. It was the perfect place to stay as everyone were so accommodating at a very stressful time. Shame this hotel is not improving

We arrived and there was no hot water, we were told we should have tried earlier, it had so been used up!

The food in the restaurant was very poor and overpriced. I sent my fish back, it was almost raw and definitely past its best.

We've stayed here regularly each year over the past few years, but we will not be returning.

There isn’t anything to do or see around the hotel as it is located ~10mins drive to downtown. But there are quite a few free big parking lots around old town, just have to get there early or it gets full fast during the weekend.

But there could be so much more that can be done to improve the experience.
The rooms have no kettles. There are no mats near the bed and the floors are cold tiles.
Small things could improve this property a lot; and the cost could certainly be made up by increasing the rates

Nice Hotel with a Great View

This is a nice old hotel close to Toledo. It has a great view over the city from the terraces.

The food in the cafeteria was nice, and the service good.

Our room was clean but not in the best condition - peeling wallpaper etc. This could have been due to the fact we had a dog and this was a dog-friendly room. This is a minor point though. Overall we had a good stay.

This is a fabulous hotel, with beautiful panoramic views. Our suite was large and comfortable and allowed us to stay with our dog with a large grassed area outside the patio doors, the food for room service is a little restricted but very nice and our breakfast especially the pastries and coffee were really good. The hotel is good value for what it offers, so we will be using it again at a future date.

We booked a suite. The bathroom was tired - taps dripped, plugs didn’t fit or couldn’t be removed, the shower door opened the wrong way and dripped on the floor. Bedroom patio door would not close and after we reported it, it had to be screwed shut. Was as if no one cared to maintain the room. Common areas were small and not used. No lounge or bar to relax in post dinner

Great place for views & realxing

Had a lovely stay. The hotel is lovely food really good but rather expensive. Was told one price for breakfast but charged much more! That was the only downside.
As we went out of season some areas were not open also a little dissapointing. But overall woupd syay there again & would recommend to others.

Fabulous pool area. Sadly two things let’s them down. 1) service was poor for a hotel that calls themselves 5 star. The welcome was average and when we accidentally left some shirts at the hotel they were thoroughly unhelpful in getting them back to us, wanted to charge us a fortune and ended up losing them!!!! Also the breakfast is a rip off unless you don’t mind paying €50-€60 per day for some coffee and croissants for two adults and two kids! Shame. They could do so much better on things they can control.

It won't be important to those not travelling by car but, having stayed in city centre hotels in Spain and Portugal over the previous three weeks with seemingly extremely limited parking facilities, the beauty of the Cigarral was the abundanvce of parking right outside the door. Not lugging luggage around was a distinct relief.
The view from the hotel, as is much commented on, is stunning. Seeing the vista of the town from dawn, through the afternoon sun, then floodlit at night was a daydreamer's heaven.
There are a couple of pleasant bars, one at the pool where there are moveable canopies so it's always possible to find shade to read or just sip a drink; carefull though as one of the local gins was $12 a shot which can prove unexpectedly expensive.
There were few diners in the restaurant; only six people during the whole of the evening we were there. There was, however, a large and fascinating wedding reception taking place in the gardens so I imagine the kitchens were grateful for that. The meal was good and pleasurable, but not exceptionally so; the service, however, was excellent.
I'd certainly be happy to return to Toledo which is a lovely city and I'd unreservedly book back into the Cigarral.

This property was absolutely gorgeous! What an incredible view of Toledo at night and during the day! The food that we had was amazing!! First of all, It is on the really great hill. When I wake up I can see all of the Toledo casles through my window.

The staffs were extremely friendly. There was a problem with our room and they took care of the problem right away. The view was fantastic. Each room had a terrace overlooking the city of Toledo. It was far from the center of the city but we enjoyed the peace and quiet away from it. The taxi ride to the city was about 4 to 5 euros. I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

A good choice for a Toledo stay.

Lovely hotel, about half an hours walk outside of the old city or 5 minutes on the bus which takes you to the Alcazar. Fabulous views from the balcony /gardens of the hotel. Ground floor particularly recommended for views as they have a substantial terrace.Very helpful staff on reception. Ample free parking on most occasions. Spacious well appointed room. Breakfast was reasonable hot/cold menu but have had better, especially the eggs/bacon etc . Best ever views : head up the road past the Medieval St martins bridge on the CM401 in the direction of the Parador de Toledo. Nice cafe looking across the gorge from about noon. Have a ramp/lifts for the benefit of wheelchairs etc.

Way past its prime!

The staff was very pleasant burbrhis hotel is way past its prime. The room smelled like old cigarettes and there was a cigarette burn on the blanket. The restaurant was closed for dinner and the offerings poolside were awful. Also, when our food arrived we were bombarded by bees and couldn’t even eat our dinner! Our kids couldn’t wait to leave the hotel!

The hotel is located about a 20-30 minute walk to Toledo. A pleasant walk but still 20-30 minutes up and down hills. The views are great. The food was comparable to other hotels that fall into this type of category (Pousadas, Paradores, etc.) - nothing special. Restaurant prices are higher than eating in the city but that is to be expected. Breakfast was good but, again, comparable - nothing outstanding. The room was very comfortable. Had some water issues (one night no hot water and one night no cold water) but the reception staff took care of it. Speaking of the staff, all very nice and helpful.

Best views of Toledo

After staying in mid city hotels for a couple of weeks we were ready for something different. The views, and peace and quiet of El Bosque (and free parking) are worth the 15 minute walk to San Martin's bridge. At the end of a full day in Toledo it is only an 8 euro ride back from the main Plaza de Zocodover. Bring a bottle of wine home and enjoy the best views of Toledo from your room.

Only the thin walls and thin towels detract slightly from this beautiful place.

A very comfortable hotel with stunning views of the old town across the river. With an easy walk in across the bridge into old Toledo, the hotel is ideally situated to provide parking and a quiet refuge from the bustle of the city. The staff are enormously helpful and the facilities, including a pool, restaurants and bars, are excellent.

What a beautiful hotel.all rooms have a view of Toledo. Wifi was good and aircon. A bit of a walk to the pool. First class breakfast. Massive comfortable bed.

Great view of Toledo

We were very impressed with the hotel and its ambience. The view was particularly beautiful. The Spanish nature of the hotel was welcoming. We especially appreciated the pool late in the afternoon after touring. We would highly recommend this hotel to our friends. It was a very quick cab ride to the city and was well located for us to continue driving to our next destination.

Toledo & Cigarral El Bosque

Hotel is a short taxi ride from the centre of Toledo. It is built on a hill overlooking Toledo and has the most lovely views of the city. The rooms are larger than average although slightly dated. They are comfortable and clean. There is a good breakfast available but better to book that as part of your stay. The swimming pool is on an elevated position a short walk from Reception. It offers more superb views and from 1pm each day food and drink are available from the pool bar. A good choice for those travellers looking for a quiet location yet close enough to walk to the town.

Lovely view!!!

Overall, it was a really good stay. Do get a room with a view. The hotel was clean, with a spacious room and the bathroom was big as well. The outdoor pool was awesome and the staff were really helpful. The location of the hotel isn't ideal if you don't like walking (specially in summer) and/or you don't have a car. The internet speed in our room was really slow and the drinks from the minibar were a bit expensive.
