Great location walkable to the mosque-cathedral and many other attractions! The host was very hospitable and responsive as well, they contacted me the day prior to check my arrival time and when we arrived much earlier, we were able to keep our bags in the hallway and the host brought our bags to the room for us when the room was ready.

We stayed in the ground floor which can be a bit noisy with pedestrians walking/talking at times as it is in a very very active street.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights at the hotel. It was very convenient for walking around the historic area of Toledo. The hotel has a rustic feel to it and the common areas could do with some updating. Our room and the bathroom were small. The furnishings were old and dirty. I would recommend this hotel only for its location and parking.

Cute hotel, very clean room and bathroom, breakfast is very good, king bed and pillows are confortable, I will suggest to put some stoppers or slow close dispositive to the doors as is easy to bang the door and wake up guests ( this is to add more confortable stay :-). Other than that, the property is very well situated with easy parking in the garage or on the street, we enjoyed to stay in this hotel and want to come back, I recommend to all!!

If you don't mind to walk to the center, then this hotel is alright, 500m to the centre, remember you will be paying 12 euros for parking, breakfast is continental but not the bes, poor quality meat considering they have one of the best pig farming in Spain. Staff was the best of the hotel, very attentive and helpful. Also views were amazing.

Long uphill walk from hotel to Centre of city

From previous reviews we expected a more central location. There was nothing near by and we had to walk quite a distance to get to restaurants and the town.

The breakfast was disappointing, and the breakfast staff were unhelpful and rude. The breakfast room was filled to capacity and there were several people waiting for a table, so we asked at the front desk if it was OK to take the food to a table in the courtyard. The desk clerk said this would be fine, so we did so, but the only cutlery available were the large cereal spoons - I asked the woman who was in charge of the breakfast room if we could possibly have a knife, and she brushed me aside. Needless to say, we walked into town for breakfast the next day.

Pleasant hotel with lovely views

This is a budget hotel but excellent value for money. Staff are excellent and very attentive and the room was large and had a wonderful view over the river valley. Breakfast was adequate - abundant if you like sweet things!
Toledo is a town of hills and this hotel is in the valley so everywhere is up!

We took a three-day city break and there is more than enough to fill all of that time just in Toledo. We did make use of a hired car to get around and the drive to Avila is well worth the time. Aranjuez is an easy visit to make on the journey from Toledo to the airport in Madrid
Enjoy the gastronomy of Toledo - there is a wide choice of restaurants for everything from tapas to high-end dining e.g. the wonderful Alfileritos 24 (the name is also the address) which has wonderful food, amazing staff and really impressive internal architecture/design.

Great location for seeing thr sites of Toledo if you are self driving. Not in the centre but near enough for easy access. Underground car park a bonus (charges apply).
A bus goes from outside the hotel to the centre every 30 minutes if the hills become too much! Breakfast pretty good, not 5 star but its not a 5 star hotel. Overall good value

Nice quiet hotel with friendly staff

WE booked two single rooms. Both actually had large comfortable doubles. The bathroom was adequate and had the benefit of a bidet. It is an uphill walk to the town to the rear of the hotel, but it's downhill after food and wine so that's ok. Close to the pretty old Jewish Quarter and overlooking the river, this was a very comfortable and quiet three night stay. The breakfast was plentiful and varied.

The hotel is just downhill (a rather steep one) from the Jewish quarter of Toledo. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Room was quite comfortable, as was a seating area with up-to-date newspapers and periodicals (all in Spanish). Breakfast offered a variety of foods. Availability of parking was a plus also.

A little gem of a hotel.

My wife and I spent three nights at the hotel and found it to be comfortable, quiet and very clean. We were fortunate to have a room on the first floor at the front overlooking the river which was excellent. The breakfast room was very pleasantly decorated and the breakfast selection of food more than sufficient.
The hotel is very well situated for the main tourist attractions in the town most of which are no more than thirty minutes walk away although I would not recommend the hotel for people with walking difficulties as it is all uphill to town.If you wish to eat in the evenings, again it is an uphill walk into town to the restaurants. After three days we found this walk in the evenings for dinner was becoming less than enjoyable, after spending most of the day walking around the various places of interest.
Parking on the road near the hotel is virtually impossible, this was the only drawback we encountered but the hotel can offer private parking under the hotel at 12€ per night, which is what you would expect to pay in similar Spanish towns.
Overall this was an excellent hotel and although we live in Andalusia, it was our first visit to Toledo and will definitely return and would certainly recommend Hotel Casona de la Reyna and we would not hesitate to stay there again.

This hotel more than met my expectations. Great location by the river, close enough to the old town centre to walk easily, but far enough to be very quiet. Very close to the El Greco museum, a must see if you like art. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was perfect for a solo traveler, I suppose it might be a bit tight for a couple. I took a special price deal so didn't get a river view, but I'm sure the rooms with the view are even better.

Great hotel at the quiet edge of historical Toledo. Ten-minute walk (max) from any attraction (you'll have to walk uphill, however). Clean, comfortable (as much as inexpensive Spanish hotels could possibly get), friendly and helpful staff. The only problem is that the rooms (on the first floor, anyway) all face the same short hallway, which means you can hear up to six other guests arriving or leaving.

Our first hotel in Toledo was close to the gorge and a much nicer hotel for the same price. Casona de la Reyna is located conveniently close to the parking lot escalator and stairs that end at the main Plaza de Zocodover with its many cafes, shops and easy walk to all sights.

spent 2 nights over east week. The hotel is right on the main road just before you enter the old city of Toledo. There is free parking across the street that is rarely open and underground parking for about $20. It is a cute hotel and the front desk was helpful. Room is small as all European rooms are. has a free safe and small fridge. The bed is okay but on the firm side. Room could be cleaner as the bed spread was stained and dust bunnies on the floor. Best part was the free breakfast. Hotel is a straight up hill walk to the old city so bring comfortable shoes. If you want to be closer to the center of town, may want to look for another place.

It is a bit outside the city centre, which is ok since the city in not that large. To get to the centre, you have to walk uphill, a common theme in Toledo. The bright side of the location is that it is quickly accessible via Taxi from the station. WiFi is free, however there was no reception in the room.

We stayed here while travelling with friends around Spain. Good Location. 10 minute walk to the Alcarzar and surrounding shops. However if not up for the walk a bus stop is right across the road. Room was clean, a little small however good value for the price. Continental breakfast was good. Staff friendly however English limited but we didn't have a problem communicating. Would stay here again. Underneath secure car parking was available for 12 euro per night. The Hop On Hop Off Bus was good value.

My wife & I have just completed a 12 day tour of Spain. Two nights spent here, we wanted to look at Toledo, possibly to spend a longer visit next time we pass through Spain as Madrid is a nightmare with a car. For our purpose this hotel was perfect. Quite easy to find and only a 10 to 15 minute walk (mostly uphill) to the centre of town and all the tourist attractions, bars and restaurants. We normally use rather older hotels with 'character' and avoid the more modern hotels. This relatively recently built hotel turned out very well, beautifully done room with a nice view straight out over the river and valley. We were very pleased, nice hotel though with limited facilities. Very clean, excellent service from very helpful staff and a comfortable room. The only complaint might be that the bathroom was very small which could be a problem for some people. We very much liked Toledo itself, we walked round much of it and have every intention of visiting again, in which case it is highly likely that we will use this hotel again. This is the first time we have used a Sercotel, if this one is an indication we iwill have no hesitation in choosing the group again.

Check in was smooth, with the receptionist helpful with maps, ways to town, etc. Our room was what we expected for the price, standard and comfortable enough- although I did find the bathtub a little strange with half of it going into the wall, so a little dark. The hotel is on the outskirts of Toledo, so a walk to the centre could be something to consider if you want to be close (it was fine for us). Breakfast was fairly average. Overall, the hotel was what we expected and fine for our one night stay.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful town. After our one night here we decided that it was a mistake. You need more time. Every thing is walkable but you should take your time. We travelled with two children so Expedia required us to take two rooms but that wasn't necessary. There was more than enough room in a room for one more roll away. I recommend you book the one room and pay the extra person charge when you arrive. We ended up with two rooms. Despite our request they be close together they were on completely opposite sides of the floor.

View to die for!

Sercotel Casona de la Reyna is on the southern rim of this fabulous city, a short walk to many significant museums and tourist shopping. Close by is the the cliff used byToledo residents to massacre its its Jewish colorny by throwing them over in 1493. Bus route 12, the circular route, is right across the street.

There was no WIFI access for the 4 nights I was there. The hotel PC could not print my boarding pass.

Two staff members, Carlos at reception and a dark-haired Toledan woman who served breakfast and cleaned rooms, made the diffiulties of my visit easier to bear.

Good Hotel for a Great Price

Hotel is located on the edge of the city, but Toledo is small, so it's not far to walk to every sight, but it is uphill. Nice hotel with parking (a plus) for 13 Euros a night (a minus). Well maintained with large rooms (ours had an extra bed in it) but there were two flights of stairs to climb to our room on the ground floor. Air conditioning did not work the first night and the room was quite warm and uncomfortable (they got it going for the second night) and the bed was two singles not a double or queen as requested and possibly the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in (but that is a very subjective thing). Price without the parking fee was great.

A lovely, quiet place in Toledo

We chose to stay at Casona de la Reyna based on Trip Advisor ratings, and we're glad we did. For the price, we weren't expecting a hotel that clearly has been lovingly decorated and maintained. In addition to its charm, the bed was very comfortable, the room was fairly spacious, the bathroom immaculate (it even included a bidet). The staff at the desk speak excellent English and couldn't be more helpful. Because this hotel is not within the medieval city walls, it is quiet and not bothered by floods of noisy tourists, yet it only takes a few minutes of walking to reach the tourist sites. One must go up a rather steep hill to get to them, but you'll be doing lots of that throughout the whole of Toledo anyway! An added bonus: across the street you can look out and see the river valley, a lovely view. Our only gripe: the free wifi seemed to work only in the bathroom. To really make use of it, we had to go downstairs to the lobby.

Excellent Hotel in great location to visit Toledo

Excellent hotel, great value for money with friendly helpful staff. Its in a great location. Short taxi journey from the station. Toledo as others have said us very hilly but 10 mins up hill gets you to most sights. However if you prefer take the bus from the terminus opposite the hotel for 95 cents and that gets you up to centre of town in 10 mins and then you can walk back down. Beautiful walks by the river below the hotel and if you follow the road from the hotel up the hill towards the Greco museum there is a great little bar and superb restaurant. Recommend taking the zocotrain round Toledo to see the views of the city but sit on the right hand side facing the driver for clear views. Also I can't remember it's name but there is a bar below the Alcazar that faces over the river gorge towards the military academy that does tasty cheap food with excellent very reasonably priced wine and unbelievably fantastic views. If you are going to Toledo stay at least three nights, there is loads to do and it's stunning.

This is a fine place. Just be prepared for some walking up and downhill as Toledo is built on a hill. Beautiful view of the Tagus.

Great spot in Toledo

A clean, pleasant hotel located at the periphery of Toledo's old town, near the wall. the location is a huge advantage. the sights are not far away, and you enjoy the charm of this city without the dirt and noise of the tourist district near the alcazar. Last visit we ate in the central district and the food was dreadful. This time we ate at 3 places near Santo Tome (and the hotel) and they were all good.

The hotel is OK, the staff most welcoming and warm. It has a beautiful view of the Tojo river and the room is clean. I think a location more to the center of the old city could be better.

Liked everything about this hotel. Staff was wonderful, breakfast was pretty good. The location was great (if you don't mind uphill walking) but then that is Toledo!

A very pleasant stay!

We were very pleased with this hotel. The Hotel is located at the edge of town within walking distance of the most interesting museums and churches. The staff was helpful, the place very attractive and clean and has it's own parking garage. A great place to return to after a hot day visiting Toledo!

Toledo tucked away secret

This is my second visit to Toledo, Spain and my second stay in The Casona de la Reyna. For the price of this hotel I was extremely impressed with all features about it. The hotel is smart, clean and modern and the rooms have nice tiled floors and bathrooms. Each room has a minbar, flatscreen tv, free safe and ample storage. The staff are very friendly and helpful and if you choose breakfast that is very good value as well. Just one point for me being English is it would have been nice to have tea / coffe making facilities in the rooms. I have no bad comments to say about the hotel and so that really is it! Would stay here again.

Great Choice fo your Money

Stayed for 2 nights in March '11. Very good overall experience. Front desk clerks were very helpful. Indoor parking for 12 euros per day; can also park free across the street. Great location. Near center yet on the outskirts for easy in/our driving.Car is not needed while there. Walking to center a little steep but pleasant as you are sightseeing. Bus across the street. Buffet breakfast was ample with lots of choices. Free internet with computer terminal in the lobby. Room was small, but charming; bathroom was very small, but functional. Great choice for the money. Will stay there again.

Quiet but close to the sights

Very attentive and helpful reception desk staff. Friendly and accomodating. Very nice continental-type buffet breakfast for 8.5 Euros. Five to ten minute walk to all the sights in town.

Cool and Comfortable

This is another nice Sercotel property, very clean, attractive, and well appointed. It is easiest to take the bus (across the street) into town if it is hot (it was for our stay). In cooler weather the walk would not be difficult up the hill through and into town. The nearby river area below is grafitti marked and seemed neglected. We were not that comfortable on the streets and trails there. There is an interesting bath ruin just across the street above the river.

Great but you need to be fit or use public transpo

This hotel was very good. Clean, comfortable and close to the town centre. Staff very helpful and well versed in english . We found the area very quiet however the hotel was a little noisy. The doors need some foam strips to close more quietly. Real keys are noisy and should be replaced with key cards. Parking was great at a moderate cost. Easy transport to city centre but you need to be fit to walk up the steep paths into town. did not try breakfast because of previous reports. Plenty of bars to eat at just up the hill but we had our own little picnics in our room as it was just a tad to hot to feel very hungry. The aircon was fantastic.

Casona de la Reyna hotel in Toledo,Spain

My husband and I stayed three nights at this hotel recently and were very pleased even though the room was a bit small.
It is well located and easy to reach by car. We walked around Toledo from the hotel with no difficulty but there is a local bus which takes you to Plaza Zocodover, the hub of the old city.
The gentlemen at the front desk were very helpful in providing suggested walking routes, train schedules and keeping us updated on the airport situation during the Icelandic volcano problem.
The breakfast buffet was very good and we appreciated the evening coffee and wine which were served to us even though the bar was closed at the time.

Excellent accomodations!

We were greeted warmly and treated vey nicely during our stay. The front desk workers spoke English and were very helpful to us. They arranged for taxis whenever we wanted to get someplace and took care of telling the taxi drivers where we needed to get, since we couldn't speak Spanish. They were most helpful! The room was very clean and nicely decorated.

Fantastic Place

We just loved the hotel. It had a nice view of the river and was close to everything, but not too close. The staff were especially pleasant and helpful. The rooms were quaint and clean. For the price, it could not be beat. It is not a five star property, but for traveling on a budget and only a place to sleep when you are out all day, it is perfect and romantic!
