Everything needs maintenance: The hotel room the door locks were falling off the hinges. THE MANAGEMENT was absolutely awful, the kid at the front desk was the most unfriendly person I encountered in all of Costa Rica. The rest of the staff at the restaurant and bar were so kind, but the management and rooms were awful. So sad this could of been a great stay but I will not be returning.

Comfortable and relaxing stay

Although the property is quite dated and needs a bit of refurbishing it is still a nice place to stay with large rooms, comfortable bed and hot showers. The breakfast options are good and filling with various well priced dinners available. The hotel is located on quite a steep hill if walking but there is a local bus service every 20 minutes. Overall the place is good value and worth staying if you want somewhere cheaper than central Manuel Antonio, which is just down the road anyway.

Personnel and staff very friendly. Excellent service, nice breakfast and coffee. They go out of their way to assist.
Front desk very helpful in finding us a ride back to San Jose.
Recommend it 100% + excellent value for your money.

Super cute property. Our villa was great for our family of 5 adults. The mixologist Fabi was absolutely amazing. Some of the best cocktails I've had. Staff was very friendly. Good location.

The road going into the property is steep and extremely bumpy. The bedrooms are large but very outdated. Curtains were from the 70s , bedsheets wouldn’t stay on the bed as they were too big and pillows were lumpy. When we arrived the lady who registered us said “the boys behind the bar live getting people drunk”. Which was a turn off and gave me the creeps. The breakfast staff were great tho and so was the breakfast. .Pool was old and has tiles missing out of it. Pool chairs were made of PVC pipe. The best part about this place is the amount of monkeys that are in the property. Also they have a large dog on the property that has muzzle on him for the day. Which is a bit uncomfortable as well. Reception said “don’t touch him as he is grumpy”. .

If you’re looking for fancy, this isn’t it. The hotel has less than 15 rooms. The rooms are not bad but they’re not excellent and could use some upkeep, but for the price and the location it’s a great deal. We don’t need to stay at fancy hotels and are okay with a decent hotel as long as it’s adequate. The pool was great and the staff amazing, their bar and restaurant were amazing as well.

The hotel is generally clean and the rooms are basic but sufficient. The pool is quite nice along with the gardens. Our room had a hammock outside which was pleasant. We saw some nice birds outside. The location of the hotel was further away than what I was expecting from Manuel Antonio Park. It is about a 10 minute drive along a winding road with lots of up and down so to walk I feel would take over half an hour.

Pretty place to stay, with a couple of drawbacks

Our family of 5 stayed 3 nights in early 2020. Check-in went smoothly. The hotel is set back from the road, and we couldn't hear any traffic. Also, it is not far from a few restaurants, but the steep, winding road makes it hard to walk anywhere without luck and caution. Our suite, overlooking the pool, was roomy and had a balcony with a hammock. There was a king bed, a single, and a pullout sofa. My daughter found the sofa mattress to be thin and uncomfortable, and it creaked every time she moved. My husband said the king mattress was too firm, but the rest of us didn't mind the beds. There weren't enough towels for us, and when I asked for more, they literally couldn't find any. Guess it was a busy time for them, so we made do. Some of the towels were a bit stained, and overall the room didn't feel very clean--dust in corners and such. Also, when we returned from dinner the first night, there were large ants all over our floor. We killed them and sprayed bug spray around and under the doors where they were coming in. The breakfast was filling and included toast, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, and a choice of an omelet, rice and beans, or pancakes. The workers were all nice without being overly friendly. Overall, it was a pretty, quiet place to stay, but it could have been cleaner and wasn't convenient to get around without renting a car or taking taxis.

Awesome place to stay

Very good place to stay with family. Had a nice swimming pool. Restaurant is attached and you can order food till 08:00 PM. Great staff! Had long chats with the property owner. He is a nice gentleman with great wisdom and experience. Very near to Espadilla beach / Manuel Antonio National park. You can taxi for $5 or take a bus for $0.50. Free breakfast

It is a very well kept location very true to Costa Rica. The service was good and the restaurant was very decent. The owner and staff were very helpful answering all our questions in how to get to places and even recommended a great pizza place. REALLY FRIENDLY STAFF. EXCELLENT LOCATION. THIS HOTEL IS REASONABLE IN PRICE. THE POOL IS WELL KEPT. THE FOOD IS VERY GOOD AND ALSO PRICED REASONABLY. WE FOUND IT VERY COMFORTABLE. WE STAYED 3 NIGHTS AND HAD TWO BEDS, WHICH ARE HARD TO FIND IN THIS AREA. THE DRIVEWAY IS VERY STEEP AND REQUIRES CAREFUL DRIVING.

Nicer in pictures!

I did not feel very welcomed here! The workers were friendly but the owner made no attempt to converse with us. Coming back one night I accidentally tripped on the top step which by the way is taller than the rest and I'm sure I'm not the first to trip and fall! The security gaurd made no attempt to help or even ask if I was ok. My son helped me get up. When my husband parked the car he was rudely yelled at by the same gaurd to move his our car. There were not enough spaces to accommodate all the guests. Breakfast was OK at best.

Cute, great food and bartender. Owner cheap.

I was a little taken back that the owner would not let us fill our travel mugs with ice and water before we left. He said we would have to buy our own as he has to pay for ice. This was a little much!!! Especially as we drank and ate there the night before. A hotel should be a little more accommodating if it wants repeat customers. The bartender however was great and made our stay.

This hotel is run by a wonderful Polish fellow by the name of Andy. He and his staff do a great job of making you feel right at home. We had one slight issue with one of the staff in regards to our small dog. He insisted that he was not allowed in common areas of the hotel because of the potential for complaints from other guests. As it turned out the staff and guests fell in love with our 11 month old Yorkie and we were able to reach a compromise that worked for everyone including the Costa Rican government. The food in the restaurant features Polish dishes that were very good. The staff was cheerful and attentive. The pool was a great place to sit with other guests and talk. We spent 4 relaxing days there and made some new friends with staff and guests.

Nice budget accomodations.

Wonderful people and service. Don't expect a Holiday Inn in the forest, but not bad for a facility that could be modernized a little. Rooms could use blackout curtains, as morning light streams in beginning at 5:30, along with some sound-proofing. The early morning light combined with noise from the nearby kitchen and open-air bar/restaurant setting up for their outstanding free breakfast makes sleeping late impossible. Overall, I give Andre and his staff a thumbs up.

Great Food - Great Service - Nature at your door

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt welcomed like family by Andre and his son \"Andy\" (don't call him JR)......the food was the best of our entire trip to Costa Rica.....we especially like the stuffed cabbage and the pierogi's...we arrived at the hotel to monkeys jumping from tree to tree, and there is a family of toucans right behind the hotel (you can see them from your private balcony).....we have already recommended the hotel to friends who will be in Manuel Antonio in October of this year.....An overall wonderful experience!

Friendly hotel between Quepos and Manuel Antonio

A warm hearted hotel that provides a service at just the right level, off the road between Quepos and Manuel Antonio. This is not a pristine premises, but it is in the jungle and considering that, it is well looked after. Family run, André, the owners son, does a tireless job, offering good advice, organising excursions without obligation as well as being general manager,
Meals, including breakfast are cooked in front of you by staff who are evidently happy. There are options which reflect the Polish heritage of the owner, and these offered a welcome alternative to the somewhat overpriced and predictable food on this coast.
Martin, behind the bar, enjoys a good conversation and the bar is lively, but not intrusive. The whole region is full of wildlife, and, being fortunate enough to spend several days here, the lovely pool area is no exceptions, with daily visitations from the surrounding jungle interspersed with a relaxing cool dip and a beer.
Parking is set back off the road, up a private track and felt secure next to the office

Great Boutique Hotel

The owner and his staff were warm and welcoming. The hotel is close to Manuel Antonio Park. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. A swim in the pool was refreshing after a day hiking in the sun. The highlight was food in the restaurant and drinks with the owner and bartender. They were fun and provided great information on the area. The restaurant serves great Polish Food. Ask the owner to recommend dishes. We enjoyed our time here very much. Thank you.

Had a great stay at hotel Las Tres Banderas. Friendly staff. Comfortable rooms..AC was great as it was very hot & humid when we stayed in March. Wonderful pool. Great breakfast and restaurant recommended for other meals as well. Just had a bit of problems with Wifi.

This hotel is ok. I stayed at 4 hotels while in Costa Rica and this was properly my least favorite. The property is very basic. The rooms could be nicer. The staff was nice and courteous. The location is great. Its a few blocks walk away from many restaurants, supermarkets, and the bus stop. It's also not too far from Manuel Antonio park and the beach. You can walk to both locations like we did, but it will take a while. There's also the option of taking the local bus for about 60 cents. Overall the hotel was just ok. No complaints really but nothing to rave about.

Great location and staff.

This is a rustic hotel, not the ritz. It fits in the jungle well as the ritz would not. So if you want to experience Costa Rica in a clean hotel with a friendly staff, and good food, stay here. You cannot find a better deal. If you going be out seeing Costa Rica, this is the place to stay. If you plan to hide in your room and at your hotel, this not the place to stay.

okay, not in a walkable location

The \"included\" breakfast was very dissapointing. I really wish they would put more into it because there is not much else around the hotel in terms of dining. <P>

The road to the hotel is not suitable for walking on. Its narrow, has steep hills and motorist don't give pedestrians any room as they fly up and down. The road is also very dark at night.<p>

Besides that, the rooms, beds and shower was nice. Wifi was intermittent. There was some noise from a neighboring construction in the day and the hotel's bar at night, but it was usually all quiet by 11pm.<p>

The pool is large but needs repair.<p>

If I go to Manuel Antonio again, Id look for a place either in the town or on the beach. Having to catch the bus and taxis to go anywhere became a pain after a couple days.

Very attractive hotel in lush setting. Very helpful staff. Easy access to beach and other locations by very inexpensive bus and taxi services. Comfortable air conditioned room. Beautiful pool. The restaurant is EXCELLENT! Photos in listing are very accurate. Highly recommended.

A nice hotel in a convenient location. Pool lounges were very uncomfortable. There is a gourmet restaurant on site, but the service was terribly slow. One waitress and about 8 tables. Very good food. It is not owned by the hotel. Hotel is comfortable and the owner is nice, and helpful. It is located on a steep hill that is dangerous to walk and dangerous driveway. There is a bus stop just outside. A nice breakfast is included.

Good value for the money

The hotel is about half way between the town of Quepos and Manuel Antonio National park. I feel it is a good value for the money. The rooms were clean, as was the pool. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We had drinks and dinner our last night there. The drinks were excellent ( they actually contained alcohol as compared to the 2 for 1 drinks advertised in various parts of Costa Rica). The dinner was fantastic. The Gorgonzola cheese was incredibly fresh and delicious.

The owner Andy runs this place very frugal with false advertisement. We had confirmation for a room with a balcony and a view of the garden, a sofa and a frig. We did not get any of that. He gave us a room on the ground floor looking at the gravel parking lot, no sofa, no frig. I asked for a bucket of ice and he said he will have to charge me. I asked for wakeup call and some beach towels for next morning and he said ok, but that will be all the services I can request for the day. It was 8:30 PM. Breakfast was included but when I asked for more eggs, he said I will have to pay extra. TERRIBLE SERVICE. Don't go there. It will ruin your vacation.

If you HAVE to stay somewhere....

then this is better than camping at the beach with all the risks involved..... Many unpleasant issues, but the only ones I have space to talk about are the owner being rude and condescending, the massive amount of slick slippery stairs you have to have to haul your luggage to through the restaurant, in between tables and other guests eating. The pool is also next to the stairs, another hazard. Missing clothes with brand new tags with which the owner responded rudely and a room with spiders, ants and roaches after being \"cleaned\". Have stayed in many, many hotels, have never been treated like this, I am a pleasant lady in my 40s, always am treated well do not understand the positive reviews.

Stayed here three nights in January 2014. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable but pillow and sheets were due for replacement. We ate dinner in Manuel Antonio each night (lots of great restaurants there), so returning to our room each night included an awkward walk past the owner seated in the hotel's restaurant.

Good price close to manuel Antonio

Hotel was a good deal in an area where hotels were surprisingly expensive. Restaurant has incredible food!! Highly recommended even if you do not stay at the hotel. Rooms were fine, a bit outdated and nothing fancy. Good for budget travelers. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel for getting to the national park and beach which was very convenient.

Typical lower price hotel, big pool, good food

This hotel is cute if a little run down but all hotels in Costa Rica seem to be unless you are willing to spend the big bucks. The doors didn't close weathertight but again that was my experience with all hotels in CR. Our room was small but had everything we needed - 2 double beds, a TV, awesome A/C, and a bathroom. The sink was in the main room and had a nice big vanity which we used for storage. The bathroom itself just had the toilet and shower. The food at the restaurant was excellent. We ate breakfast there every day (included in the price) and also dinner one night. The pool is a good size and we enjoyed it every day. The hotel staff was helpful and accommodating when we needed something. The location is between the National Park and Quepos. I would stay there again.

Okay for a night but there are better

We stayed for one night. My wife was very impressed with the Chef who worked at the restaurant in the evenings but beyond that we had very little good to say about this hotel. The hotel charges prices as if it is much nicer than it really is. The owner who works the front desk during the day didn't bother to change from shorts and a cutoff T-shirt while attending customers at the restaurant while the staff looked very professional - very low class. All of the other Costa Rica hotels really made us feel welcome when we arrived - couldn't say the same about this one. Low-light for our 11 day trip. Skip it. We were glad it was only one night.

Meh....

Hotel was quiet and OK for a night, but owner did not make me feel welcomed. He was more concerned that I returned the remotes to TV and AC in the morning than helping daughter and I take our luggage up flight of stairs or giving us wifi password. Also, at breakfast (which they didn't start prepping until 7:00) the workers made food for themselves before offering us anything. We had to make own toast.
