Los Altos is a wonderful small hotel with a wide variety of rooms, all of which are incredible. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Andres checked us in and showed us around the gorgeous grounds. He was extremely professional and helpful for our entire stay. The rooms were clean and had all of the amenities we could have possibly wanted for our stay. The food at the on-property restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. Overall, this hotel was a fantastic experience and a great value. 10/10 recommend!

We had a fantastic stay! Beautiful property with amazing views. Super friendly staff with a great restaurant. We saw a lot of birds and monkeys on the property which was pretty incredible. Nice hiking trails on site and many walkable restaurants near by. We will definitely come back!

Beautiful location and views, but mixed service levels. Built on a hill, transportation is needed to visit the beach but their \"shuttle\" is usually not available. Turn down and cleaning service might not show up and is poorly done. The service team is friendly and well intentioned but they are badly understaffed. The overall feel of the place is of a tired worn out timeshare hotel long past it's prime.

The advance bookings were made through a series of emails and we never got a one sheet PDF with what we booked and payment information. We also needed a lot of cash since we asked to pay for these directly. Small tweaks would really make this smoother and aligned with other CR resort tour experiences.

We went to Los Altos for my 45th birthday and it was absolutely amazing! We were in love with the resort from the moment we walked in. The condo is huge and beautifully decorated. The pool has the most gorgeous views and you can see animals while you are sitting there. We actually saw more animals there than we did at the National Park. We asked them about a nice restaurant in the area for my birthday and they surprised me with balloons and a delicious birthday cake. The staff definitely made me feel special. The restaurant had a wonderful breakfast with beautiful views. I honestly can’t say enough good things about Los Altos, we will definitely be back.

This resort is amazing!!! We saw more wildlife on the grounds than at Manuel Antonio. Sitting at the pool watching monkeys in the trees and Toucans flying overhead. People were so friendly, Rooms were huge, spotless and so beautiful. Food is amazing. 10/10 can’t wait to go back!

The accommodations at Los Altos are definitely beautiful and spacious. We stayed in a 3 bedroom with a family of 5 and there was more than enough room. The grounds were well kept and the staff was polite and helpful. The breakfasts were great with various cook to order options. There was an abundance of wildlife roaming the property that made my children especially happy. The private beach is underwhelming and very rocky. We ended up taking a taxi to the public beach each day that was much nicer. We have stayed in the Manuel Antonio area many times, but this was our first stay at Los Altos. Overall, I feel like this property is quite overpriced comparing it to the other places we've stayed.

Wonderful experience at this amazing boutique resort. Fabulous accommodations with a huge 3 bedroom condo size flat. Small enough resort for personal service in all aspects. The food at the restaurant was actually amazingly good, no matter what we tried, from breakfast buffet to dinner. We didn't eat there all the time but each time we did we were pleasantly surprised. Can’t recommend enough. Including the free private resort tour of their reserved park.

This is one of my favorite resorts I have ever stayed at! The location is incredible and the patio views are beautiful. The property looks even nicer in person than in the photos. There's also a private trail/ beach access on the property where we spotted some monkeys, parrots, & a toucan - was super thrilled. Also the daily breakfast that is included with your stay is top of the line! - Not your average complimentary breakfast. The staff at this resort provided us with 10/10 service & even managed to quickly ship me back my computer tablet that was accidentally left in the room after we checked out. The property, including the area around it feels very safe and the property itself has security. All in all, I cannot recommend this resort enough to anyone visiting Manuel Antonio.

This resort was one of the best Ive ever stayed at. Kenneth was so welcoming. He set all of
our excursions up even our transportation to the hotel from the airport. Upon our arrival he took our bags and escorted us up to our rooms. The suit we had was the rainforest sweet and our view was nothing short of perfect. Our suit in its entirety was amazing! The food downstairs at the restaurant was delicious, all the waiters were good but Johnathan was my favorite. The view from the pool was spectacular & the water was so warm! The drinks weren’t super strong but they tasted great! Everyone that worked there as well as those that we encountered in the area was so pleasant to talk to! . On the excursions except for parasailing they gave you cooked food for lunch and it was so fresh tasting.
The only downfall was that the area we stayed in MANUEL ANTONIO is max 3 hrs from the airport so take that into account when setting up your flights. However if you’re coming for an experience this is the area to stay in as it has everything to do here as far as activities and the beach.

our excursions up even our transportation to the hotel from the airport. Upon our arrival he took our bags and escorted us up to our rooms. The suit we had was the rainforest sweet and our view was nothing short of perfect. Our suit in its entirety was amazing! The food downstairs at the restaurant was delicious, all the waiters were good but Johnathan was my favorite. The view from the pool was spectacular & the water was so warm! The drinks weren’t super strong but they tasted great! Everyone that worked there as well as those that we encountered in the area was so pleasant to talk to! . On the excursions except for parasailing they gave you cooked food for lunch and it was so fresh tasting.
The only downfall was that the area we stayed in MANUEL ANTONIO is max 3 hrs from the airport so take that into account when setting up your flights. However if you’re coming for an experience this is the area to stay in as it has everything to do here as far as activities and the beach.

If you are wondering if this place is worth the high price the answer is YES. Everything about it is the best , the service , food,view,room,area,pool. The staff treat you so good here and one amenity that I think is underappreciated is the wild life that hangs out by the pool and hiking trails. I saw 2 different species of Monkey's , Sloths , macaws , other colorful birds , giant iguanas and more. I saw many more animals at this hotel's property than I did at the Manuel Antonio National Park. In fact the hiking trails and wildlife is so great at this hotel why even bother going to the national park? Just relaxing in the pool while toucans and macaws fly over my head and monkeys are climbing right above me (and sometimes running through the pool area itself) was a once in a life time experience . Also while this place seems so secluded you're still a very short walk to cool bars and restaurants.

Got charged an additional $600 for 2 nights for 5th child in the family for a 3 bedrooms suite paid at $850 a night. Total charge for 2 nights came to $2700 with Taxes and additional person surprise fee. This is a building converted to a resort and not at at all a 4 star propery. Breakfast was a joke, absolute joke. No amenities of a resort.

This place is unbelievable. The units make you feel like Royalty. Really amazing. Only issue I had that the rainforest suites are really Parking Lot view and not swinging monkeys as described on the description. If you don’t plan on sitting on the balcony then these units are unbelievable. If you do plan on sitting there to watch a sunset, don’t get the rainforest suits.

Super location, very close to national park and although not hundreds of restaurants, there were plenty and all of high standard nearby. Pool area quiet, plenty of sun beds and exceptionally efficient staff. Not too touristy which was nice. Hotel offered many trips and went to the trouble of getting good quality guides and sensible prices. Gym reasonable size although some of the equipment needed some attention. Same in games room (new pool cues would be nice).
Our apartment was very large indeed and house keeping was thorough. Nice balcony too to see the sloths outside your room if you are lucky, which we were!
Breakfast was also very good. Cereals, yoghurt, pastries, pancakes, omelettes and a full cooked option. Couldn’t have asked for more.

Great location. The views from the pool are incredible and it’s only a 10 min walk to a sandy/rocky beach. The hotel grounds harbour sloths, monkeys and toucans , all of which we spotted from the pool.
On the downside the rooms are a little tired and could do with a lick of paint and breakfast options are limited.

You’ll be blow away by your hotel suite, definitely not like a typical hotel suite in the US. It was a 1500 square ft 3 bd 2.5 bath condo with tons of windows and balconies. Your room keys lets you step off the elevator right into your suite For the money you can’t beat it. The free breakfast was the best, they only had one restaurant and food was just ok. They did have a girll open for lunch by the pool with more choices just wish we could get those choices for snacks and dinner as well but we couldn’t. I guess bc we had a kitchen and grocery store within walking distance that meant we would cook our own meals but when I’m on vacation last thing I want to do is cook. Disappointed that chips and guacamole or salsa or nachos etc were not on the menu? The beach is NOT a swimming beach- kinda disappointed. Very rocky and it’s a steep way down from the hotel to walk to get to it. They have a shuttle which was helpful. The pool was beautiful. Take a guided and I mean professional guided tour of Manuel Antonio National park and you will see so much exotic wildlife that most people who go on their own miss out on. A tour guide has a high powered scope and we saw monkeys sloths iguanas bats etc. that the naked eye just can’t see through the dense brush.

After booking I discovered an extra charge of $600. I appealed immediately and was told I could not cancel without a penalty, I decided to book and take it up with the hotel. They indicated that the extra charge was for each person above two. Why anyone would reserve a three bedroom suite for two people is beyond me. The manager admitted that this extra charge does not appear on the Expedia website. But they insisted there was nothing they could do. Grudgingly, they offered a 10% discount on one meal - with $15.

For some reason we weren't blown away like we expected to be based on the price and the reviews. While the property is certainly nice and in a beautiful area, it definitely lacks in a lot of areas. I'm surprised it gets so many 5 star reviews.

This hotel has it all. It’s situated in the hill top of humid tropical forest with hiking distance to three beautiful beaches. We spent two half days hiking in the tropical forest, watching white face monkey jumping between trees, watching sloths curling up on the tree, hearing hauler monkey nearby playing. We loved one sloth so much and layed down below the tree where he sleeps, stared at him for a full afternoon. Hotel staff was very friendly, I believe the restaurant is the best in the area, service people in the restaurant is super nice, made our dining experience very enjoyable.
Hotel room is very spacious and it’s one of the largest ocean view suite I have ever stayed. Of course after five hours we left, I realized that I left my glasses in the hotel, hotel staff were able to retrieve it and send to my next hotel without charge. My boys are telling me they want to be back for next Christmas. I highly recommend this hotel with kids.

Well appointed condo for use as a hotel. Good service and food. We had 3 bedrooms for 4 people, king, queen and 2 twins. Close to other restaurants and Manuel Antonio Park. Hiking trails on property that connected with others to other beaches.

An absolute AMAZING resort and staff!! We had the best experience in Costa Rica. The tours and activities were all set up by the resort and it was all seamless. Super friendly staff and great food at the hotel restaurant. The view from the panoramic ocean view room was AMAZING!! The infinity pool is so nice and the pool bar staff are amazing. The rooms/condos are huge and beautifully maintained. It surpassed our expectations. After one week there we did not want to leave. Costa Rica is a paradise of a country and the natives are wonderful human beings. I've never seen widlife happier and free. We will return again very soon to Costa Rica and Los Altos Resort. Our family of 5 had a magnificent stay at this luxurious hotel. We stayed in one of the penthouse suites, and it was amazing. The staff was extremely attentive - from Cesar, Jonathan, and Felix in reception to Gabriel, Jessica, Ormon, and Claret in the restaurant and all the ladies in the spa. Even the maintenance men and maids were spectacular - kind and considerate. The locations is ideal, and the beaches surrounding the area are beautiful! I would definitely stay here again and will recommend this hotel to anyone I know that is visiting Costa Rica.

The word \"beautiful\" sums it up very well for this resort facility. The apartment was modern, well-kept, and accessible by a card-controlled, private elevator. Available to guests on the property are an excellent restaurant, outstanding nature trails, and a private beach. A troupe of marauding monkeys terrorized (or entertained) guests at breakfast one morning and stole sugar packets and bits of food from the tables.
Unfortunately when we arrived home we discovered that between the four of us several hundred dollars were missing from our wallets and purses. During our last day's excursion we had left our valuables in the apartment. The clever thief--obviously a resort employee--went through our wallets and pilfered just enough bills from each of us that we didn't realize we had been robbed until we returned home. Shame on us for believing the staff trustworthy and not using the safe available in the apartment. If not for the robbery, this resort would have received 5s across the board.
In spite of the robbery I would stay here again for the sheer beauty and convenience of the resort and its facilities. If I return I'll use the safe...
