The room was minuscule and claustrophobic without any windows the staff was indifferent all the chairs cushions were totally wet and although I hosted a week in advance I had to leave after one night and find a new place to stay. I wrote management to request a partial refund and had no response.

For the price of the stay we were expecting more complete breakfast per example, one choice instead of 2, no fruits, no jam, peanut butter, one toast. We could have rated our stay 4 stars but the breakfast not at the level of the room and amenities level.

BEWARE! the pictures are not reality. No safely, lights going off and being left in the dark, no management on site or invested in making it functional, sewage smell from the bathroom, no windows to air and non-stop noise outside. Left and had to find another hotel as it was inhabitable and couldn’t breath. The poor lady trying to work as as the waitress and receptionist couldn’t do anything. The worst place I booked and far from what is portrayed and a health and safety hazard. Read the other negative reviews and make your decision with than in mind.

The place is fine, it’s clean and has a good location. The front desk staff is a little moody. We booked a 2 x queen beds room, but received 1 bed to share. The place was fully booked so could not change it to what I had reserved. We were also supposed to get a welcome drink, but it was never offered.
Zero pressure in the sink, so have to brush your teeth and wash you hands/face in the shower.
The cleaning staff was super nice and the room very clean.
Kitchen staff was also nice, but moody.
Direct access to the beach and free parking is also a great plus. Not sure if I would stay again, but for the price it’s pretty fair.

Both Expedia and hotel management did not indicate we had a “jungle” view room. If we knew, we would have reconsidered. We asked for a room change, but it was not possible. Note that the front desk isn’t operational after the restaurant closes.

This is a unique property if you are looking for something different. Each room is a separate \"igloo\" so it is very quiet. The grounds are very pretty and quaint. The lobby/restaurant are one space which create a very homy atmosphere. The food was excellent and the bartender was fantastic. The only thing missing in the room was a microwave but the space is limited. There is a mini fridge which is nice. The walk down to the beach is flat and easy. Manual Antonio is very hilly so it is nice to be able to walk so easily to the beach. I would recommend this place!

I booked Igloo Beach Lodge with high expectations, but my experience was extremely disappointing and unsafe. Our room had no hot water, and despite trying for over an hour, it never worked. We attempted to call multiple numbers, but no one answered. The security guard informed us that no staff would be available until 9:30 AM, leaving us with no way to reach anyone in case of an emergency.
We had to go to another hotel just to shower. Expedia also attempted to help, but the property has been unresponsive to Expedia’s multiple calls and emails. I did not receive any reply from the hotel until the following day around 10:45 AM.
On top of that, the walls are extremely thin — you can hear everything from surrounding rooms and outside, which made it difficult to sleep and enjoy any peace and quiet.
Hot water is a basic necessity, and having no staff or way to contact anyone overnight is extremely unsafe. While the property later apologized, this does not change the fact that guests were left without essential services, emergency support, or proper communication.
I cannot recommend staying here, especially for travelers who value safety, reliability, and rest.

We loved this place! Stayed on a family vacation with me and my 13 year-old, and it was great - appropriate for couples, families, etc. The pool was great, the location on the beach was awesome. The igloos were so cool - cozy, but enough room to move around and hang out. Breakfast at the hotel was delish. We would highly recommend to anyone going to Manuel Antonio!!

We had an amazing time at the Igloo Beach Hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and everybody was very helpful, especially Emily. The food in the restaurant is delicious. There is a beautiful pool right in the center of the hotel. It is surrounded by the jungle and we saw beautiful birds and monkeys throughout the day. The property and rooms are kept clean and tidy. It’s only about a five minute walk to a local beach. It is about a 15 minute walk to the town of Manuel Antonio, where you can shop and visit restaurants. There is a bus station, literally right in front of it so you can travel further easily if you’d like. They made going out on excursions very easy and helped facilitate all of our tours and transportation. We would absolutely recommend this hotel. 10/10

Do not stay at this property, numerous lies on the property information website. Including that it says there was a gym when there wasn’t and this was a key criteria for our stay. They also included reference to concierge which we assumed meant cleaning but no service was available and we had to go to another hotel. There was a power outage in our room which meant no AC

We had 3 nights booked and left after one, and just ate the cost of the other two. The pictures definitely make it look a lot nicer than it was. We had an ant infestation in our room. The food at the restaurant was also pretty terrible. We travelled all over Costa Rica and this was the only poor stay.

This is a great hotel in the Manuel Antonio area. We would definitely stay here again. Alan at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable and the pool was a perfect way to spend a hot day here. The restaurant has incredible food too!

I appreciated the location of this hotel, a quick walk to the beach and you can walk to town as well. Room was good, could use a chair or something to sit in. Service was great and I enjoyed the food. The shower and sink had hair in and around it at my arrival, so cleanliness wasn’t their strong suit.

El habernos hospedado en Igloo Beach Lodge fue una excelente decisión. Las niñas disfrutaron de la piscina muchísimo. Vimos 2 tipo de monos en la copa de los árboles así como mucho pájaros. El staff fue muy atento. A pesar de ser una habitación pequeña, nos pudimos acomodar muy bien los cuatro (2 adultos y 2 niñas). Nos encantó la experiencia. La localidad es ideal para visitar el parque Manuel Antonio. Lo único que no recomiendo es visitar la playa en la tarde/noche debido a que no es seguro. Recomiendo este alojamiento sí o sí.

A truly remarkable place to stay on a trip to Manuel Antonio. The ‘igloos’ are very spacious and modern and are soundproof, have excellent aircon, strong WiFi, and Netflix and a speaker. The entire hotel is just really, really cool and a few minutes walk to the beach and 10 minutes to the national park.
The on-site restaurant, Casa Planta, was delicious and everything was fresh and tasty. Special mention to Leo on the desk and the waitresses at the restaurant who were all so lovely, friendly, and welcoming all the time too. For a pura vida stay in MA, this is the place!

Perfect location with super friendly staff. Can walk to the beach in a minute or could even walk down the beach to the National Park if you wanted. The common area is beautiful with butterflies and a deep pool that somehow always knew what temperature to be! Seriously was warm when it rained and was cooler when it was sunny! The room itself is so neat because it's super simple yet does everything you need. It also has some very unique acoustics which we enjoyed playing around with! A very unique property! It looks just like the photos but it is right on the side of main road & parking is just off the road. They do have security TV on the parking area & it is quiet. It is a very modern, white & cool vibe. We paid $500 Cdn for 2 nights for jungle room. We liked this better because there is no shade on the pool side (it was hot!) and we faced shade with a swing just outside our room so we could watch the monkeys. The room is also white,modern & very comfortable layout. There is no wardrobe but hanging rod at the end of one bed and hanging shelves at the other. 2 sinks - 1 in the W/C and the main one in the room. The safe is a bit interesting as it is small, portable & not attached to anything. The lobby area is open air, a bit small but again unique and could be enjoyable but we found it very warm so headed out for other dinner options. There is a dirt road leading to the public beach access and if you want beach chairs or shade you rent. We did not so I don't know how much they cost. I cannot say enough great things about Sylvia who went above & beyond during check in she was so helpful about the property, Manuel Antonio Park, & topping up my Liberty SIM card! THANK YOU! Head left on the beach and eat at the Magic Bus, & check out the monekys.

We liked the very short walk to the beach and the bus stop in front of the hotel. It's a five minute bus ride to the park entrance and the bus runs every 15 minutes during the day and costs only 380 colones. The staff was helpful and the food in the restaurant was good. The air conditioning struggled at times to adequately cool the room. The rooms could use folding luggage racks.

We liked the Igloos. Our room was very clean and roomy. I would say the big selling point of this property is its location close to the beach. We didn't have any specific complaint but would probably stay next time somewhere closer to the park where we could easily walk to more restaurants and have more natural shade.

We had a room for two people, accommodation was good but rooms are small, need more shelf space or suitcase stand and a chair would be nice. Staff are great, attached restaurant is great. Recycling would be a benefit. Drawback was we all got tick bites so be aware to check yourself regularly for them! We travelled with another couple who also got bites. Removed embedded and some live ticks. We believe they were in the grass under the table where we all sat for a drink one evening. So travel with a tick kit!

The customer service needs improvement. If you're looking for somewhere to lay your head and to sit by the pool, then this is for you. The room was simple and clean. If you're wanting added service then choose another hotel. I was on the garden side and the smell of sewage came up through the drain in the shower and the sink. The housekeeper was nice enough to get a plug in air freshner to eliminate the smell.

We travelled with 2 young kids and we really had a great time. The best part was walking distance to one of the best beaches in town. The property is neat and clean with friendly staff and breakfast is much better than what you get at other hotels - a la carte. It's a no frill lodge so don't expect Hyatt like amenities (wifi is spotty but works). Overall a great place for a few days at Manuel Antonio.

If you like consistent internet, do not stay here. Very low band and spotty, need more access points throughout the property. Staff service was inconsistent as well. Some were very good but some need additional training. Beds were really comfortable. No luggage stands for your luggage. Inconsistent hot water and low water pressure. Nice place all around. Be warned, due to the unique shape and composition of the rooms (concrete igloos) there is a very noticeable sound effect where someone on the bed from across the room sounds like they are directly behind you. This is not a big deal provided you are not traveling with children for whom the novelity of this effect will never wear off.

We ate in the restaurant a few times and enjoyed the food, which was reasonably priced. I would only suggest that instead of having only having 3 options for the included breakfast, that they have all their options or at least 5-6 choice. The other guests were also very friendly! Great atmosphere overall. If we are back that way, I would stay there again.

the whole property was unique and an experience in itself. It is not even a block off this beautiful, serene beach that offers everything and is full of Manuel Antonio animals. Breakfast was terrific and the hotel dog, Nikki, greeted us every morning and evening. We loved the whole experience!

The property is gorgeous and the igloos are so cool. The acoustics in the whoops and the set up makes them feel like a spa. The breakfast is really good and tasty. It’s 2 minute walk to a expansive beach and also really close to tons of restaurants and shopping. Manuel Antonio national part is 15 minutes walk from the igloos. Highly recommend it.

Loved our stay at Igloo Beach. Didn't realize how close they were to the beach. Staff is so friendly. The food onsite was great. We got the breakfast included package and that was amazing. We ate at the restaurant for other meals too, because the food was delicious. They also have various tours available to book right at the hotel. All in all, fantastic stay all around.
