There really is nothing to fault. What an incredible stay. Perfect location. Easy to walk to the beach and local restaurants, supermarket etc. Staff were just delightful esp on reception and in Anaconda, made such a fuss over my son for his birthday.
Room was huge and the view, well just to die for, (B2) never had such a large balcony, it was amazing.
I did question this hotel before I booked as there was some mixed reviews and the pictures were dated, I am
so glad we did, it exceeded all expectations.
We had sloths in the trees by reception, the best daily monkey breakfasts which were hilarious, especially when we had our French toast stolen. Just magic. Thank you!!!

The property was gorgeous. My only complaint is the location. From our room nothing was actually walkable. The restaurants aren’t on the same property as the rooms. There is not direct access to a beach. This was only a problem for us because we have very young children.

Hotel Costa Verde did not meet our expectations; it was the most expensive place we stayed in Costa Rica and we liked it the least. The biggest problem is the hotel room walls are paper thin so we could clearly hear normal volume conversations taking place in the next room as well as lots of noise from the baby and toddler, waking us up multiple times during the night and noisy throughout the day as well. You can hear doors opening and closing very loudly in the next room, too. The hotel does not provide basic coffee condiments in the room or in the lobby; I requested a simple dry packet of creamer, or a bit of milk, or anything for my coffee (coffee that I brought myself), and was told it's not provided. This is not what I expect from a 4-star hotel. The swimming pool (we went to Pool A twice) has a nice ocean view but otherwise it is a basic small square pool with discolored, old chairs and no ambiance at all. No music, no service, no umbrellas, no towels. Finally, be aware that the overall property consists of many buildings that are spread out from each other; our building in \"Area D\" had zero amenities; we had to either drive our rental car or request a shuttle ride if we wanted to go to the pool, go to the restaurants on the property, or get to Area E from which you can walk a steep path to the beach. The positive things about the hotel were a refrigerator and 2-burner cooktop in the room, hot water in the shower, and a nice balcony. I wouldn't stay here again.

Incredible. The customer service is something I’ve never experienced. The grounds are immaculate. Monkeys are many. We even saw a sloth pretty regularly. The view was incredible! Again, I can’t get over the customer service. Talk about prompt, kind, and gracious. I would definitely stay here again. I wouldn’t even bother with another hotel. I could not have asked for more.
*** be prepared to walk some inclines and stairs. No matter where your room is, that is definitely going to be part of the journey.

Truly exceeded expectations. Unique, clean, spacious room with scenic balcony overlooking ocean and garden. Private, yet easy access to car parking, pool and restaurants. Having rented a car, getting around was convenient, 5 minute drive to National park. No troubles with traffic or parking. Beach was spectacular, although a bit of a trek to walk back up to the hotel after a day in the sun. Food and service was excellent, and having a fridge, freezer, microwave and stove top with pots and utensils was helpful for packing lunches or eating in watching sunset from balcony. Overall, wonderful experience.

We had an excellent stay at Costa Verde. Our room was absolutely stunning with a very large balcony and large windows overlooking the ocean. We could hear the ocean waves and every morning we got up at 5:30 in the morning to listen to the birds and enjoy the sunrise. The family suite that we had was clean and beds were very comfortable, and the costa verde grounds had several very nice restaurants with free shuttle transportation offered to the restaurants because of the fact that the property was large with a winding road that made walking even short distances sometimes challenging. There was a very nice pool. The staff in the office were absolutely amazing and Alejandro in particular was extremely helpful in arranging for some daily tours and shuttle transportation for the end of our trip. This location itself is next to the park and there are monkeys and sloths living on the property that you can see from the restaurants or when walking around on the grounds. It is also very close to the beach, although the winding road and the steep hill makes it hard to walk to the beach. There is a convenient bus that you can ride that costs only one dollar and runs every 25 minutes. Would definitely stay at this property again and would highly recommend for others.

Staff is incredible and this is a gorgeous hotel. I appreciate how accommodating everyone is here from the front desk, the shuttle drivers, the housekeepers, restaurant staff, etc. We had a Jungle view split with a great look at the ocean and never missed a sunset. This easily stood out as the nicest hotel in the area, and you'll also see so much wildlife from your room and as you walk around the property. 1,000,000/10 experience

The location is really good and the check-in is smooth.We had an ocean Garden view family room. The sunset was beautiful. The garden with the pools is amazing. The room is clean and spacious with lots of windows so you will feel you are in the rainforest. The full kitchen is convenient. We are really happy staying in this hotel.

Costa Verde is a jewel. The setting is absolutely beautiful. The view from our room was peaceful and soothing. The staff is helpful, friendly, fun and amazing. Seeing the surrounding area is made easy - the staff sets up the tour, the vans provide the transportation. I cannot use enough superlatives to describe the place, the people, and the experience. We will go back without a doubt.

Wonderful experience, great staff. We planned some on our own and some they helped out with. The property is pretty vast, including multiple restaurants, pools, and hotel areas, all in the hills above the beach. We saw monkeys, iguanas, butterflies, parrots, etc on property which the kids loved. It was recommended to us and we’d absolutely pass on the recommendation.

Our room was nice, clean, and had everything we needed. Staff were friendly enough, José at the front desk was very nice and super helpful in answering our questions. All the Capuchin monkeys running around the resort was super fun! Only misses we had were that we wish the pool bar stayed open later and that there was a hot tub/thermal pool. There were shuttles to the different restaurants but a shuttle to the beach would have been nice since it’s a 10 min walk all uphill on the way back.

What a wonderful place! We booked the cheapest room and stayed only 1 night but we absolutely loved it and wished we had stayed longer. Monkeys came to our balcony and we saw more monkeys and an iguana on the way to the beach (a 5 minute walk downhill). Great restaurant options in the area within walking distance. We took a taxi to the National Park for less than 4$USD and left our luggage and vehicle with reception after checkout. We never made it to the pools. Would stay again and would recommend!

We did choose Costa Verde hotel as it was our last 3 days in CR. The hotel is rated as 4* however, for europeans standards, the hotel should be downgraded to 3*. The rooms need to be refurbishment as they are old and dated.
The staff members in the reception were really unfriendly, unhelpful and unprofessional. We did the laundry in the hotel and the total cost came to $83. As I asked to pay in colones, the staff added the wrong amount (it was a genuine mistake that could happen to all of us) however, one of the receptionist found it very funny and started laughing. No apologise as customers.

The hotel is not suitable for people with mobility issues as the rooms are located far and you need to walk a ramp. Yes, it is a car service but again, the car is like a Land-rover (quite high to jump in) and the driver was not very helpful or friendly.
The hotel has 3 pools but they don’t provide the customers with towels for the pool. You have to use the ones in the room and they will change it later.

We had breakfast one day and was okish but £35 for 2 coffees and 2 eggs is far to expensive for the quality of the breakfast.

Pros: the rooms were cleaned and we had coffee to make our own coffee every morning

This was an amazing place to vacation. Easy access to Manuel Antonio and the beach. Even if you don't want to visit either of those, the property itself is like a zoom. We saw 3 different species of monkeys up close with some visiting us right on our balcony. The kitchen faucet is broken, almost cause flooding. We reported to the front desk, when we came back afternoon, it has been replaced with the new one. The water temperature for the bath tub is unpredictable. The first day is fine, the next day there is no hot water for the bath tub.

This place was absolutely amazing if you like to see the wildlife. The staff was great and the food choices were great. We got a suite with a balcony and the monkeys would pass by. The place was spotless and the amenities were great. Internet connection was excellent. The property has 2 trails that are full of wildlife. The thing I appreciated the most is that the pool area was silent and respectful of the wildlife at the property.

The property itself has a lot to explore and a variety of room types. We didn’t have a great view, but our second evening a troop of squirrel monkeys came by and that was amazing. Beds were comfortable, shower was a little weak and lukewarm, nice to have a kitchenette and full size fridge.

Arrived an hour before check-in, room unavailable so we went to have lunch. Stopped back 15 minutes early and it was almost ready. It was ready almost exactly at 3. That's fine we were early. When we returned later after dinner and ran the AC it was leaking inside in 2 places. Used pans to catch the water for the night. This was fixed the next day. My question is if the room wasn't ready it implies it was being serviced so how was this leak not known?

The view is amazing!! Absolutely the best part!! Spent plenty of time on the balcony enjoying the view.

The walk to the beach is all down hill & some steps. It's pretty steep and you'll have to hike back up. There was a shuttle we saw later that wasn't mentioned at check-in.

Room service was great during a heavy storm. Order system on WhatsApp was fantastic.

Rooms are unique and very spacious. Older facility, but lots of charm. Bathrooms are not air conditioned in the rooms. You are one with nature. Haha. Lovely balcony with rocking chairs and bath tubs. I loved this place! It was so close to Manuel Antonio National Park and all the beaches. The room was very nice, and I loved the veranda! The shower was powerful and water warm. Check-out was simple and fast and staff were friendly. The pool area was beautiful, but we opted to spend more time at the beaches and only went to the pool once.

I would highly recommend Hotel Costa Verde. I just wish I could’ve stayed in an airplane!

The bed was too hard and pillows firm. I prefer a softer mattress and fluffy pillows. In our room, the AC unit required a key to operate that was attached to our room key so when you leave, the AC unit turns off. So you come out of the heat to a hot humid room. However, our friends room AC unit didn’t require a key so make sure to ask about that. Other than that, the rooms are very spacious and clean. Our balcony was amazing to sit in the morning and have a cup of coffee looking out at the ocean and being above the trees. Great pool! We stayed in the adults only area and the pool bar wasn’t opened in the am…it only had a bartender in the evening. I prefer to have afternoon cocktails by the bar…. Didn’t happen. Disappointing:(

Costa Verde is a great property. Walk to the beach and a great variety of dining options at the resort. The adult only pool and cafe was a daily stop to relax with a spectacular view of the beach. The front desk staff (thanks Jason!) was knowledgeable and helpful when booking excursions and info about local places to check out. Watching the monkeys was always a treat in this wonderful jungle setting.
