My daughter and I stayed there for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. The hotel felt like a hidden cottage, tucked away from the busy tourists areas. The staff was incredibly friendly, giving the place a good old bed-and-breakfast feel. The food was amazing, too. I’d love to stay there again when I come back to Bogotá.

La habitacion tenia olor a baño-alcantarilla, los espejos del baño tenian salpicaduras de pasta de dientes en la madera, no había alfombra baja cama. El desayuno era desde las 7:30... un horario no adecuado a un hotel que habotualmente es desde las 6:00.

**La Colina: A Bogota Gem**

La Colina is more than just a hotel; it's a warm and inviting haven in the heart of Bogota. The cozy atmosphere and positive energy are palpable from the moment you step inside.

The staff, particularly Federico, Tamara, Nairobi, and the rest of the team, truly go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. As a solo traveler, I immediately felt at ease in their care.

While I had planned to explore the local food scene, I found myself returning to La Colina for every meal. The culinary offerings were consistently outstanding, and the service was impeccable. Any other restaurant would have been a disappointment in comparison.

I cannot recommend La Colina highly enough. The dedication and passion of the ownership and operations team are evident in every detail. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.

I rate the hotel 5 in most respects. The owner is helpful and employees are fabulous. The only caveat is the location. It is on a hill (hence the hotel name) quite a distance from the center of the city (45 minutes to one hour). So if you need to schedule different activities in the center of Bogota, it may be a bit inconvenient. For us it was fine, since we only went to one event. The owner is great at getting tbe guests sage transportation each way. Would stay again. We enjoyed our stay.

This one of a kind place was phenomenal in it's rustic, cozy and artistic vibes. It is a nice hidden oasis in northern Bogota.

The patio and dining area was spacious, welcoming with excellent attention to detail. I really enjoyed coming to my table for breakfast already set for me with granola, fruit, coconut shavings, raw sugar, fresh squeezed juice and warm yogurt. Then I would be surprised with an amazing main breakfast meal that is different each day.

My room came with a massive bed that was very comfortable to sleep on as it was firm and great for my sensitive back. I loved the bathroom and large standing shower area with all the stone work. A nice rustic vibe with art throughout my room to gaze upon. It was nice to look forward to returning to my room after being out and about in Bogota for the night.

The dining experience is incredible. The Ceviche an Tuna Tartare blew my mind for the appetizers I had on several different occasions. I stay with all the meat options and the steaks were cooked to perfection with tasty veggie sides and perfect mash potatoes. I hosted friends on different occasions and they were very pleased with the experience and enjoyed the spaghetti with shrimp and the other loved the salmon dish.

One highlight was the Mother's Day affair. I simple special menu was offered that day. I chose the 2nd option, the white fish with papaya blew my mind. I tried the special Colombian Rum and I enjoyed discussing the rum culture of South America.

Loved staying here so much!! It was really intimate and the staff was so nice and caring and made us amazing breakfast every morning. We felt so catered to and the ambiance was so romantic with fresh flowers and candles always lit. The food was amazing too i really enjoyed the mushroom soup.
Will def be coming back here ans I recommend this for anyone visiting bogota!

I stayed here for a night with a friend and it was absolutely amazing. One of the best boutique hotels I’ve stayed in. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. La Colina feels like an escape from the city yet its within city limits. The staff, especially Federico, was very accommodating and friendly. If you’re thinking of staying here don’t think twice!

La colina was a rare finding. Going through Expedia to book a hotel at last minute I was attracted by the style of La Colina, so unique compared to the other hotel options I've had already seen.
It was so beautiful I wish we would have being able to stay longer. It is the perfect hotel to really forget about the world. If you are alone it can give you the perfect space to enjoy the solitude, to disperse and calm your mind. If you go with your couple it is so inviting to cuddleing and romance. The entire experience help you to relax and boost your soul. I loved it!

Owner (Frederico) took advantage of us any way he could.
He charges $35 for airport transfers. I found out going taxi rate is $15, so I called Fred to cancel the ride 14 hours before our arrival. He tried to say he couldn't cancel. I had to forcefully insist to get him to relent.
After we told Fred we were going to take our laundry somewhere our driver knew for about $8, he said they would do it for us. We said sure. 192,000 pesos, about $55 U.S. was charged to our bill at checkout for a small bag of laundry!
We requested soup for a light lunch. We were charged $25 for 2 bowls of tomato soup at checkout!
Dinner at hotel. Filet mignon was obviously not cooked professionally and was oddly mushy. We ordered wine. Fred poured about 2.5oz (a standard pour is 4 oz) in narrow flutes and poured water in the wine glasses. He then sits down with his computer next to our dinner table to go over the hotel bill while we are eating!
The next morning we had an early ride to the airport. Breakfast was supposed to be included. Understandable that they didn't cook for us so early but not even coffee, a cup of fruit, cereal, or anything else was put out for us.
Location terrible, in glide path of jets all day. Noise penetrates the house. Music played continuously until 10pm probably trying to mask it. Well over an hour drive to even closest attractions both in or out of the city and you can't safely walk anywhere nearby. There are no sidewalks.

Federico and his wife are great hosts. We had fresh and tasty breakfast each morning in an artistic surrounding.
We learned about history of Colombia from the bilingual hosts and others helpful informations.
Bed was very comfortable.

The only downside is that this hotel is nearly an hour drive away from main attractions.

Hidden Boutique Hotel in a Buzzing Bogota

This boutique hotel is decorated with layers upon layers of unique art and natural beauty which are a photographer’s delight! Everywhere you turn, there is something to discover. I just knew from the moment I walked in that La Colina was a hidden gem, a special, safe place. Federico, Rosana and their staff welcomed me with a 3 course dinner (made just for me) next to a toasty chimney and later an aromatica de frutas. Their wonderful staff made sure that all my needs were met daily, ALWAYS going above and beyond in everything. Thank you for warm smiles, the fresh fruits, jugos naturales and AMAZING breakfasts, ladies! Muchas gracias! Los veo pronto!

La Colina is a hidden gem in Bogota. While it is further out than most Bogota hotels, it’s totally worth it. There is beautiful art throughout the property and the rooms are cozy. The staff was constantly exceeding our expectations with great meals and service. The included breakfast is a great value. this is more of a paradise inside of heaven inside of an art gallery than it is a hotel. Easily the best experience I have had in any hotel. I came as a stranger and left as a friend. If you enjoy art and great food

Our overall experience was great. The host collected our food, transportation, and other needs ahead of time, and made arrangements for us. He is very patient and responsive in answering my questions during booking. The entire place is like an art studio because they are a family of artists. The breakfast was very tasty and in great quality and quantity, with lots of fresh fruits, fresh juice, toasts, eggs made by order. I was so full each morning. My son had a full bottle of their homemade yogurt each morning, while he never would have yogurt back home. We wanted to experience local restaurants so did not have dinner at the hotel. But I can tell he is an excellent chef. The taxi company they use for transportation is a little expensive, but very reliable and safe. The host's mother usually works with him but the day before she had an accident and had to stay in bed. He was so busy that he forgot about our laundry. But I totally understand how overwhelming it had been to him that day. We met the host's mother in early morning and she was very caring and gentle to us. It felt like we had a family/friend there in the totally foreign place, and can get help from them whenever we needed.

Be rich if you want to stay with dishonest people.

I am a modestly experienced traveler and I have never run into someone so dishonest, unaccommodating, and miserable to deal with. I chose to give up $735 in a non-refundable deposit than have to stay in a place isolated where you would have to rely on Federico. He was going to charge us over $4,000 for bus services that we paid $400 for. He wanted $15 for breakfast for a 3 year old (which they state they don't charge for). At every turn Federico had his hand in my pocket until I realized that giving up the $735 deposit was cheap in the long run. They are awful, no matter if the hotel is nice or not (I didn't stay there, but drove by and it is in a slum, isolated from even a coffee shop so you are stuck with whatever he wants to charge you for anything).

Not close to anything and impossible for any taxi driver to find w/o calling the proprietors for directions, but oh what a wonderful find. The owner and her sons have lived in the U.S. and speak superb English. One son is a remarkable artist (as is apparent everywhere); the other is a remarkable chef. It's a treat to watch him cook and learn his secrets. They'll make anything you want and pour any drink you'd like. Martini? Hendricks gin and cucumber, of course! They are super friendly and will happily help you arrange whatever you'd like to do.

A Fabulous Experience in Bogota Colombia

We had a fabulous time on our first visit to Bogota and part of that was staying at La Colina. Martha is a most gracious hostess and took great care of us. The atmosphere is great as is the food. Anything you need Martha and her son, Federico, know how to help with it. They are definitely five star. This is a very small hotel and I would recommend the apartment suite.

Exquisite and individual small hotel in safe area.

I had a wonderful stay in La Colina on a very comfortable room in a safe part of Bogota. We were looked after brilliantly by Martha and Federico who made us feel like family. The breakfast was organic and totally out of this world. Home made yoghurt from the neighbouring cows, home made muesli and spinach omelettes. Lots of fresh fruit and wonderfully strong coffee. The hotel is filled with unique works of art by family members. Federico organised our taxi to the airport. The short visit was a wonderful strait to our trip to Colombia.

A little piece of Heaven in Bogota.

I had the greatest experience at this hotel with my wife and my two wonderful kids.
If you ever been to Europe, you will understand. This is not a regular hotel for busy business people, this is a place to relax and enjoy a good bottle of wine.
The hotel is surround by art everywhere and you will have the sensation that you are at some kind of cottage in South France. The rooms are very spacious and cozy. The location is just amazing, away from all the city noise and craziness. If you are going to visit Bogota, don't miss the opportunity to stay here and renew your soul.
I'm certainly looking forward to stay here again in the near future. The owners of this hotel are the best people on this planet and I would love to be friends with them for a long time.

Es un lugar muy acogedor, muy interesante en su configuración y su decoración. La comida era muy rica pero lo que es más valioso, es la calidez de su personal y su pasión por dar un buen servicio y mimar al huésped. Lo recomiendo mucho.
Para nosotros el mayor inconveniente es que está muy lejos de los lugares icónicos de Bogotá y si vas de turista por primera vez, y con el tráfico de la ciudad, vas a peder al menos una hora de ida y vuelta. Sin embargo, el lugar bien vale la pena.
