The rooms are spacious but lacking in a few amenities. No a/c nor heat and the floors of the room hallways are rough hewn stone & cement. No big deal, but not good if you have rolling bags.

Amazing stay at Ecotica. The room with two queen beds was quite spacious and it was spotless everyday. We also were up in the trees where we were graced with squirrel monkey’s swinging in the trees next to our room every day.
We saw a sloth up close and white face monkeys every day along with many other animals. It truly was a treat! The grounds were lush and beautiful and the staff were magical!

Awesome location, extremely friendly staff, food was great, service almost impeccable! Moises at the pool was our best friend by day 2...expect to walk A LOT to get to anything and the beach is not just a hike away...the jungle environment is amazing. Maria at the SPA provides the BEST MASSAGE ever with aromas and sounds. Highly recommend!!!

We were a day late checking into the hotel, but everyone made us feel so welcomed and was very kind. The breakfast that was made to order was so delicious. The housekeeper did a wonderful job cleaning our bungalow and made our anniversary feel special. It felt like a dream. This is an incredibly beautiful hotel with an amazing staff. Moses is awesome and greets you with a smile every time he sees you. The bar is convenient, although the drinks are very expensive outside of happy hour. There is wildlife all around the hotel, from three different species of monkeys to scarlet macaws, to iguanas and frogs. It's in a great location within walking distance from anything you might need. Highly recommend.

We stayed at the Ecotica hotel for our honeymoon. The property was gorgeous and well maintained. The hotel staff customer service was excellent and they went above and beyond to meet our needs. The young woman working reception told us that the bungalow was still being cleaned.. which was not true, I walked over and looked. No early check in. Unbelievable! The hotel was not booked plenty of vacancy. Slow rainy season. Reception made us wait until after 3 to check in. Never offered to take are bags and store them while we explored town. My opinion is reception needs better customer service skills/people skills. Reception is the first people you typically meet at a hotel. Further, there are sooo many places to stay in Manual Antonio.

Property grounds were very maintained which enhanced it's beautification. Monkeys came to visit almost every evening about 5p.m. Free Breakfast was delicious. Great friendly staff. Lots of Great Restaurants were walking distance. The Balcony was great to enjoy morning espresso they provided. Our room was cleaned every day. The only thing that bothered me was that there wasn't a dresser so our clothes were exposed on shelves which I didn't care for..Also no iron in room. Not sure if they would have provided one if I asked. Room was comfortable. and felt safe.The sounds of nature were relaxing. I would recommend staying here.

This hotel was one of the best experience I’ve ever had! My wife and I went there to celebrate our honeymoon. As soon as we arrived there, I was mesmerized, and we got to see the monkeys which we thought was pretty cool. They have a restaurant they’re called YOLO and the staff are extremely kind and very helpful. The best service we’ve ever had. We booked a bungalow and the views were to die for! extremely clean and very accommodating. Breakfast is by the pool, which gives you a scenic view, and of course the staff were also extremely kind. This hotel is also located very close to Manuel Antonio national Park, which also leads you to the most beautiful beaches. I highly recommend this place. And again thank you Ecotica for making our honeymoon perfect!

Loved the room, the property, and the super friendly and welcoming staff! We saw parrots, monkeys and these little agouti critters that are adorable around the property, along with tons of flowers and greenery. There are steps everywhere, just FYI in case anyone has trouble getting around.

My companion and I stayed August 8-12 - this is a phenomenal spot. It’s a small jewel of a place. The rooms are gorgeous, the pool is beautiful, the breakfast was lovely and the service is so special. Thank you go Robert and Moses for taking great care of us. Such kind people. This is a ‘must see ‘ resort. The private cabanas in the middle of the rain forest offers all kinds of wildlife sightings and a peaceful paradise. The staff were engaging and provided excellent service. The pool is an incredible, clean oasis. I’d highly recommend this hotel.

Absolutely stunning! Between the foliage and animals ( monkey's and McCaws ) you get to see, this is paradise. Words can not explain my wife and I experience. The staff worked in unison which made our stay flawless. You wouldn't even have to leave the property if you didn't want to. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and I haven't seen that glow from here in years. 100% recommend. Clean, safe, friendly and Ecotica treats you like family. You will not regret it. Where do i start!! Absolutely love our stay at this hotel within the staff Moses at the bar. He was absolutely wonderful. Check-in was very easy. We had a grand bungalow and our room was phenomenal. Housekeeping was very clean. We’re around a lot of different restaurants five minutes away from the national park it was one great experience. There are a lot of animals and monkeys around in our hotel which was a plus my mom was at another hotel nearby and there wasn’t a lot of animals to see around their hotel but ours had a lot, which was one of the best parts of the experience while you’re laying down on the pool you will absolutely see the animals once in a lifetime experience thank you all for such a great time

We spent out 26th anniversary at Ecotica and we had a blast! The staff was awesome, the free breakfast is great but you can order what you want, you don't have to order from the menu. We enjoyed YOLO just about every night, they have board games, pool table and great food/staff. We saw macaws, toucans, white faced capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys and howlers from our balcony, it was an OASIS. The resort is small but we didn't feel cramped or crowded. We spent our mornings and evenings on the balcony listening to the surrounding nature. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in the area.

Thisos a small little boutique hotel that is beautiful. The staff were so helpful, the food was good, the rooms were clean and comfortable. There we only 2 things that were not perfect and really not a big deal. Frist there is not an elevator and there are many steps up to the room with luggage. Secondly in room 17 you could easily here the music from YOLO. There is another gpod sode pf this hotel; MONKEYS!

Lastly, Moses the bartender is phenomenal and a great host, and very welcoming. Could not recommend a better place than Ecotica!

The staff were very friendly and the hotel grounds were very beautiful. A frog even stayed right outside our bungalow for a while, and we saw capuchin monkeys on our balcony. Downside is that the wifi was very very slow, virtually nonexistent at times. Also beware of bugs.

This place blew away my expectations. We stayed for a week. The staff is excellent. Shout out to Moises who is the best! Pool area is great with good drinks and food as well as service. Yolo had some of the best food in the area and super convenient. Guest services was super helpful and arranged all of our activities and even let my son borrow a wireless phone charger for a few days since he was having problems. Rooms are clean and maid service was daily and great. Felt super safe. Monkeys rolling in a few times a day was a treat as well. I would definitely stay again.

We saw many monkeys around the property but they did not interfere. We stayed in the suite rooms building, great room but only issue was some street noise; not a deal breaker! Great experience overall. Best part is a lot of monkeys and birds are visible from their facility which has a lot of wooded area around it. Spotted capachin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, howler monkeys, red macaws, bananaquit, Agoutis and iguana. The hotel is 5 mins from National park and beautiful beaches. A lot of restaurant choices around and a bus shuttle runs every 15 mins to National park.

If you are an into nature and wildlife, you will love this property!!! We saw more wildlife here than anywhere else we visited, we saw howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys and squirrel monkeys, we also saw toucans and scarlet macaws. The beaches are walking distance and the national park is about a 15 minute drive. The onsite restaurant “Yolo” has a great menu and the food is delicious!! The free breakfast is also really good!! The staff here are all very friendly and go out of their way for you! Overall we enjoyed every aspect of our stay and would highly recommend this place to everyone!

Upon arrival, we saw little monkeys playing on the canopy. At breakfast we heard and saw beautiful parrots above. Everywhere we saw beautiful plants and animals. The staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel building and cottages are surrounded by trees, shrubs and greenery full of life! We saw birds including scarlet macaw, humming birds, heard a toucan’s call - couldn’t quite spot it though, white faced monkeys, agouti. It’s like in small private zoo! Best option here are cottages that have a balcony facing this small forest. The pool has comfortably warm water, perfect for relaxation. Breakfast served at poolside caffe has decent options, evening service is amazing with good selection of drinks and snacks. Moises, the server that assisted us was exceptional! Extremely caring! The restaurant upstairs offers sandwiches, salads, and small snacks that are delicious, all accompanied by live music every night.
If you stay in main building’s basic hotel room and are sensitive to sounds, you may need ear plugs as it’s settled next to the main road that is quite noisy…
Overall, the experience was great for us. We actually saw more animals here on this property than in Manuel Antonio National Park.

Moses and Joshua made us feel very welcome together with the staff in YOLO restaurant. All amenities in walking distance spacious room with good views of the wildlife especially the monkeys. Pool was well maintained and of a good depth with adequate loungers available. One improvement item would be a facility such as kettle rather than coffee maker so we are able to make a cup of tea. I would recommend a stay at ecotica and highly rate it.

The bungalows are across from the pool and restaurant that play loud music until 10pm at night. The property was advertised as serene and peaceful which it was not. I had a very bad experience and don’t recommend staying here unless you are ok with hearing loud music and bass thumping in your room at all hours.

The smallness of this hotel allowed us to always have a comfy seat at the pool without having to get up early to reserve chairs. If we left for a couple hours in the afternoon, we didn’t feel the need to reserve anything. There was always a place for us when we came back.
