The view of the lake from our room was amazing. We were on the 5th floor. The hotel staff was friendly (Marco at check-in was great), and the room was extremely clean! Lovely amenities with a hand written note from manager. Short walk into town, breakfast was pleasant on terrace, private parking available for 19CHF/night. Would definitely recommend and stay here again in the near future!

Excellent hotel! Clean with great staff. We had a suite facing the lake and had a wonderful view. Breakfast was included and was very good. Location was close to restaurants and walking along the waterfront was very much enjoyed. Took a bus to Aston’s and this town was very much enjoyed. Also took the lift up to Arcada for excellent views of the lake and mountains. Excellent hotel and would stay there again

We absolutely loved this hotel. It's an easy pleasant walk along the lake from the station. The reception staff are multilingual and are very helpful. We chose a studio room with lake view. It was super comfortable with an amazing view of the lake. There are lots of restaurants in Locarno but we decided to include breakfast and evening meal at the time of booking. Breakfast is buffet style and offers a super range of excellent quality foods. Supper was waiter service; sometimes it's à la carte, other times an abridged menu. But regardless every dish was excellent! You will not be disappointed. The head waiter is marvellous and made each evening an enjoyable experience, he was pleased to explain the dishes to us and I noticed him doing so in several languages. His team are professional and friendly; they simply make you feel welcome, comfortable and relaxed. The garden setting for the restaurant is lovely with the lake visible through the trees and shrubs.
The hotel is spacious and kept immaculately clean. There is a pool, small but perfect for a cooling dip. We didn't use the gym. It was far too warm to use the roof terrace, the view up there is fabulous.
We flew in via Milan, transferred by bus to the central station and caught the train direct to Locarno. An Italian woman on our flight said Locarno is the most beautiful part of Majjiore. I can't compare but I think she may be right! If you go, we can definitely recommend the Arcadia Hotel.
Isola Brissago is a must see.

Nice hotel, reasonably priced, at a very convenient location close to the center/old town, and right at the lago. Pool was great, though not too many sun beds. Breakfast was great but bit busy for us late birds.

Room was spacious and at least most of the rooms seemed to have a powerful AC. Our’s was a prior apartment room, and there still was a fridge in the “kitchen” which was very convenient.

Hotel restaurant is, besides breakfast, not the best one. There are tons of better alternatives in the vicinity. Price-wise the hotel’s bar was reasonable. It’s Switzerland after all.

Parking in the garage is a nightmare, a rather normal car barely fits on the elevator, luckily I don’t think they ever utilized the elevators. The secondary garage right at the casino is just few minutes walk, and costs the same with the hotel’s voucher. I recommend that.

Last but not least, the service was outstanding. Thanks to the crew for making our vacation so nice!

The position of the hotel is excellent. The room was nice, the breakfast too. Garden area is nice but the pool for so many people is too small. It was forbidden to jump to the pool but people ignored this. So it was not possible to swim. During the breakfast many people smoked which should be forbidden. With a little bit wind one has the smoke in the front of the face.

Not a bad hotel but there is some place for improvement. What we really liked about are
- good location, next to the lake and other nice areas in Ticino are well approachable
- the bed is very comfortable
- child friendly (cute playground, presents, child chairs etc)
- the breakfast is very good and cutlery is green
The negative experiences
- loud traffic (we were next to a relatively busy road)
- the hotel restaurant is not the best quality to say the last and not very big choice (basically pasta and that’s it). The staff does not speak English at all, you have to try Italian or German!
- the shower in the bathroom is very small, old fashioned, and there is no bathtub!
- the view from our balcony was not very inspiring (overlooking an ugly building)

This hotel near the old town is across the street from the lake. It is very family friendly - there were many young kids with parents at the hotel. There was a pool as well as a small playground which our infant enjoyed.

Our room was not clean and also one the beds in the room didn't have any sheets. There was a wet towel in the closet and the bathroom was not clean . The toilet was not flushed and hair in the shower.breskfast in this hotel was basic also the service is lacking. They won't remove the dirty plates and cups from the table until your done.

other than the following was pretty good:
We reserved 2 rooms for 2 nights.Upon arrival we were shown our room, the air condition was switched on by the hotel employee who showed us to our room.
After an hour the room was still hot, employee came back fiddled with the controls, room remained hot!!! We called again to please show us how to control the a/c, instead the employee came with keys to a different room.
Now we had to pack all our suitcases and move to another room. THAT IS NOT THE END OF OUR STORY BECAUSE SOON ENOUGH WE DISCOVERED THAT OUR DAUGHTER , HUSBAND AND GRANDSON, THEY TOO WERE GIVEN A ROOM WITH NO A/C. Coincidence??I don't think so! Now i have come to beieve that the hotel was stuck with 2 rooms with no A/C and was trying to unload them on someone!! No one, not one single person at this hotel apologized, expressed regrets, No One!!
This is a $250 a night hotel in Switzerland!! 4 stars. Fancy Name.::

Great hotel.

Great location right on the lake, rooms good size and recently refurbished. Service also great. Only negatives are that the parking spaces in the underground are quite tight (although we do have a large car) and the hotel doesn't have room service. However, I ordered food directly in the hotel restaurant and the waiter brought it up to our room. A great hotel and would thoroughly recommend it.

Staff make all the difference in the hotel trade. We selected this hotel entirely on location, for a brief two night stay, and were pleasantly surprised. Staff were so knowledgeable and helpful, and the breakfast in particular was superb.

Struggling for an improvement, I would add heating to the freezing swimming pool, nothing more!

I had a bad experience checking in at the reception. I waited really long in the lobby to be checked in. After the long wait, another group of persons cut in line right in front of me. I'm pretty sure the reception saw it, and didn't say anything about it at all. (I was not sure about the reason, maybe I look like Asian, or maybe I didn't speak Italian.) Anyway I won't say the service of this hotel is friendly. I won't consider or recommend it, either.

GREAT LOCATION on the EAST END of LAGO MAGGIORE

Overall VERY GOOD as far as room, housekeeping and Breakfast. I did see that the COMMON AREAS lacked in cleanliness including lobby , hallways leading to room, elevators unvacuumed and walls unclean, Marks/ Stains on walls, stains on carpets, Dirt on Carpets.In my unit there was work down on the balcony wall unfinished/ NO PAINT just white cement UNSIGHTLY.I travel a bit, for the price asking for the LOCATION and the Suite ROOMS I believe MANAGEMENT could do a better job regarding site Maintenance. The front desk help was adequate, the housekeepers were kind friendly and OVERWORKED. Only saw One on the FIFTH started at 0900 and at 2000 leaving for dinner that person was still working. I understand this RAMADA is a franchised facility. So, I can see the CORNERS they are cutting. But if none of these things bother you on your holiday. Good Value for the LOCATION. As for me I will not stay again unless Management brings it up a Notch or two

Real pity that the room style is outdated and staff off season are over stretched. The area restaurant staff are expected to oversea is far greater than any one person can easily cater for. The staff do well but the expected work load is too great. Although the staff maintain a professional, welcoming and attentive persona. We checked in after 4 p.m. to a dirty room. Dirty sheets and an unmade bed was the first thing we noticed, but not the last. There were many of other things that made it obvious the room had not been cleaned before we were issued the key. There was hair on the bathroom floor and in the sink and tub and used glasses were still on the sink. After calling the desk and getting clean towels, new sheets, trash removed, and used dishes taken away we settled in. Nonetheless, even after housekeeping left, we found trash in some of the cabinets and in the bathroom.

When we returned to the room after dinner, it started to smell like something was burning. It was nauseating. We had not touched anything, only turned on the television. The source of the smell was inexplicable, but it got worse and we could not sleep there. We called the front desk, a staff member came to verify that there was a bad smell, and we were assigned to a different room. Although this one had obviously been cleaned (new sheets and soaps were there), we still noticed a strange smell and discovered a used package of hair dye that we then threw out. This room, just as the room before, had mildew in the bathroom and the corners of the bathroom window were filthy. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with our stay in this hotel.

We stayed for one night 3 adults and a baby. Hotel is fine and good value for money as we only paid for 1 room between 4 people. The room although dated was very large and clean. The only negative if we stayed for longer, the neighbouring rooms could be easily heard. That wouldn't put us off from staying at the Hotel again.

Tolle Lage - schöne Zimmer - gutes,variables Frühstück. Die Teppiche beim Lift im 5 Stock sind eher abschreckend und sehr mit Flecken übersäht - sehr schade und abwertend - was nicht nötig wäre. Die Kaffeetassen sind wegen der Hänkel sehr ungünstig zu tragen bei heissen Getränken. Jedoch ohne diese zwar wichtigen Details - gutes Haus, Reise wert.

Gutes Hotel an toller Lage, auch mit Kindern

Wir waren mit 2 Kindern (5&8) eine Woche im Hotel.
Das Zimmer war sauber, leider mit Teppich, was ich eigentlich schrecklich finde für ein Hotel mit dieser Preisklasse.

Im Bad war alles neu, inkl. Dusche. Der Ablauf der Dusche riecht ab und zu, wenn man lange nicht im Zimmer gewesen ist. Jedoch immer etwas Wasser nachlaufen lassen, dann kommt der Geruch auch nicht mehr;-)
Auf dem Balkon hat es ein Tisch und drei Stühle, inkl. einen Liegestuhl.
Das Zimmer war für eine Familie super.

Wir wurden herzlich mit einer Überraschung auf dem Zimmer begrüsst...waren jedoch auch eine ganze Woche da.

Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker. Pancakes, frische Früchte, Eier, Speck, Brot, Müesli...alles was das Herz begehrt.
Jedoch ist einiges immer wieder leer und es geht lange, bis mal aufgefüllt wird. Dies finde ich geht gar nicht, in einem Hotel dieser Preisklasse.
Das Servicepersonal kümmert sich mehr ums Abräumen/Auftischen oder Geschirr auffüllen, als um das Auffüllen der Speisen und Getränke. Da könnte man noch einiges optimieren mit einer bis zwei Personen mehr.

Die Lage vom Hotel ist genial, der Hotel-Pool perfekt und die Aussicht, bei Zimmer mit Seesicht, meeeega schön.

Die meisten der Angestellten waren nett und zuvorkommend, besonders das Reinigungsteam war immer sehr aufgestellt und herzlich.

Ich kann das Hotel wirklich auch Familien empfehlen.
Wir haben es sehr genossen im H4.

Gute Lage zur City und zum Lido / See

Gute Lage zur City / Lido und See. Das Hotel eignet sich auch für Familien mit Kleinkindern. Die Zimmer bieten genügend Platz für eine Familie. Ebenfalls ist ein Pool und ein Spielplatz vorhanden. Am Pool sind Liegen und Badetücher kostenlos und in genügender Stückzahl vorhanden. Parkplätze sind in der Tiefgarage vorhanden und können vorgängig reserviert werden. Der Check-In und der Check-Out gehen speditiv über die Bühne.
Ich kann das Hotel mit gutem Gewissen weiterempfehlen.

Alles war soweit gut, nur die Teppiche auf den Etagen sind grauenhaft und entsprechen nicht in keiner Weise einem 4 Sterne Hotel. Es wäre sicher im Jahres Unterhaltsbudget diese Teppiche kurzfristig zu ersetzen.
Schade das diese Hotel Gruppen nicht in der Lage sind den jeweiligen Geschäftsführenden das leben etwas einfacher zu machen und jeweils nur auf den Renditen pochen und von den geschäftsführenden Hoteliers erwarten solche Teppiche, ihren Gästen, zu rechtfertigen. Schade?!

Die Lage des Hotels ist toll! Vom Balkon herrliche Aussicht auf den See. Der Pool bietet an heissen Tagen eine willkommene Abwechslung. Ich hatte meine Schuhe bei der Abreise im Zimmer vergessen. Drei Tage später hatten sie mir die Schuhe bereits zurückgeschickt. Super Service! Sollte ich etwas bemängeln, ist es die Lüftung der Klimaanlage auf dem Balkon. Leider war die zeitweise recht Geräuschintensiv…
